Objective To investigate the prevalence of human soil-transmitted nematode infections in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province in 2023, so as to provide insights into soil-transmitted nematodiasis prevention and control in the county. Methods Congjiang County was divided into 5 areas according to geographical locations, and one township was randomly sampled from each area, followed by one administrative village randomly sampled from each township as the survey site. Two hundred permanent residents without deworming during the past three months were randomly sampled from each survey site using the random cluster sampling method. Participants’ fecal samples were collected, soil-transmitted nematode eggs were detected using the KatoKatz technique and the prevalence of human soil-transmitted nematode infections was compared among participants. Mild, moderate and severe soil-transmitted nematode infections were classified according to eggs per gram (EPG), and the proportions of mild, moderate and severe infections were estimated. In addition, participants’ family status and household sanitary toilets construction were investigated using questionnaires. Results A total of 1 001 participants were included at 5 survey sites in Congjiang County, and the overall prevalence of soil-transmitted nematode infections was 19.08% (191/1 001). The prevalence rates of Ascaris lumbricoides and hookworm infections were 2.30% (23/1 001) and 1.90% (19/1 001), with all egg-positives identified as mild infections, and the prevalence of Enterobius vermicularis infections was 0.10% (1/1 001). The prevalence of Trichuris trichiura infections was 15.78% (158/1 001) among participants, and there was a significant difference in the prevalence among survey villages (χ2 = 123.345, P < 0.001), with the highest prevalence detected in Liujia Village (39.00%), followed by in Longjiang Village (18.00%). There was an age-specific prevalence rate of T. trichiura infections among participants (χ2 = 166.050, P < 0.001), and the highest prevalence was detected among participants at ages of 10 to 19 years (48.19%), followed by at ages of over 70 years (14.53%) and 50 to 59 years (13.04%). There was an occupation-specific prevalence rate of T. trichiura infections among participants (χ2 = 74.134, P < 0.001), and the highest prevalence was detected among students (32.32%), followed by among workers/migrant workers (10.34%) and farmers (10.12%). There was an educational level-specific prevalence rate of T. trichiura infections among participants (χ2 = 28.761, P < 0.001), and the highest prevalence was detected among participants with an educational level of primary school (21.60%), followed by among illiterate participants (12.03%). There was an ethnicity-specific prevalence rate of T. trichiura infections among participants (χ2 = 42.193, P < 0.001). The proportions of mild, moderate and severe T. trichiura infections were 76.58% (121/158), 14.56% (23/158) and 3.16% (5/158), and all severe infections were identified among primary school students. T. trichiura infections were detected in 123 families, and there were 27 families (21.95%) in which two and more family members were identified with T. trichiura infections. A total of 1 001 valid questionnaires were recovered, and the prevalence rates of T. trichiura infections were 14.69% (139/964) and 34.55% (19/55) in families with and without sanitary toilets (χ2 = 15.410, P < 0.001). Conclusions The prevalence of soil-transmitted nematode infections was relatively high in Congjiang County, Guizhou Province in 2023, and the T. trichiura infections was notably serious. Intensified soil-transmitted nematodiasis control measures are recommended targeting primary school students, middle-aged and elderly farmers and migrant workers.

Purpose To explore the pathological features of angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma(AITL)with bone marrow involvement and to improve awareness of bone marrow infiltration in AITL.Methods The tissue morphology of 32 cases of AITL with bone marrow involvement was retrospectively analyzed.Im-munohistochemistry using the EnVision method and ten-color flow cytometry were conducted to detect AITL-related immune markers.T cell clonality was analyzed through T cell receptor(TCR)gene rearrangement. Results The predominant pat-terns of tumor cell infiltration were nodular(20/32,62.5%)and interstitial or small clusters(10/32,31.3%).The nodules showed a mixture of cellular components. In some cases, the fo-ci contained a mixture of cells with characteristic"granuloma-toid"changes.The tumor cells were mainly small to medium-sized lymphocytes with inconspicuous atypia. Some cases showed plasma cell proliferation.19 cases were subject to immunohisto-chemical staining, which revealed a low count of CD4-positive T cells, with an average of 8.4%.The positive rates of T follic-ular helper cells(TFH)markers were as follows:CD10(7/14,50.0%),BCL6(6/19,31.6%),PD-1(13/19,68.4%),and CXCL13(13/19,68.4%).In most cases, tumor cells showed co-expression of PD-1 and CXCL13,but the number of positive cells was less than 1%.Flow cytometry analysis was performed in 24 cases, among which 22 cases all consistently expressed cytoplasmic CD3(cCD3),CD5,CD4,and CD2,with varying degrees of CD10 expression. In some cases, there was a lack of expression of surface CD3(sCD3)(12/22,54.5%),while there was a lack of expression of CD7(8/22,36.4%).and no abnormal T cells were found in 2 cases.TCR gene rearrangement analysis was performed in 7 cases, with 3 cases showing TCR clonality. Conclusion AITL with bone marrow involvement exhibits a lower proportion of tumor cells and less atypia, making it prone to misdiagnosis. The presence of lymphocytic foci with mixed cellular components in the bone marrow can indicate bone marrow involvement in AITL.Flow cy-tometry detection of abnormal T cells(double positive for CD4 and CD10)strongly suggests bone marrow infiltration in AITL.A comprehensive diagnosis of bone marrow involvement in AITL re-quires consideration of bone marrow biopsy, flow cytometry, and TCR gene rearrangement analysis.

Objective:To explore the relationship between constitutional types of Chinese medicine and Alzheimer's disease (AD) and to construct an early warning model for AD risk. Methods:In the established multimodal interventions to delay dementia and disability in rural China (MIND-China) study, 4 033 elderly subjects aged ≥60 years old were included. The data including demographic, underlying disease and neuropsychological data were collected. The Chinese medicine service record form for the elderly was used to assess constitutional types of Chinese medicine and to apply the NIA-AA diagnostic criteria published by the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association in 2011 for the diagnosis of clinically likely AD. Logistic regression analysis and AD risk prediction models were constructed using R statistical software, and the final prediction results were presented using columnar plots. Results:The MIND-China cohort was dominated by the abnormal constitution (69.28%), of which Phlegm-wetness type was the most common (58.05%), followed by Yang-deficiency type (23.85%). The most constitutional type of Chinese medicine among AD patients was Phlegm-wetness type (54.35%), followed by Qi-depression type (38.04%). Multi-factorial logistic regression analysis suggested that increasing age ( β=0.101, P<0.001, OR=1.107, 95% CI=1.069-1.146) and Qi-depression type ( β=0.622, P=0.016, OR=1.862, 95% CI=1.116-3.076) were able to increase the risk of developing AD, while education ( β=-1.047, P<0.001, OR=0.351, 95% CI=0.205-0.584) was able to reduce the risk of developing AD. By using the risk score model to calculate the total risk score for each subject and plotting the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC), the area under the ROC was 0.769 and the calibration curve showed excellent consistency between prediction and reality. Conclusion:Older adults with Qi-depression type are significantly associated with an increased likelihood of AD.

Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of the newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Meishan City from 2014 to 2019, and to carry out trend prediction and analysis, so as to provide theoretical basis for the formulation of prevention and control strategies. Methods Raw data of newly diagnosed tuberculosis patients in Meishan City from 2014 to 2019 were collected from Meishan Statistical Yearbook. And Excel was used to manage the raw data. The epidemiological characteristics of newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Meishan City from 2014 to 2019 were analyzed, and the epidemic trend of pulmonary tuberculosis in Meishan City in the next two years was predicted by grey GM(1,1) model. Results From 2014 to 2019, a total of 1 832 smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis cases were reported in Meishan City. The annual average reported incidence rate of smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis was 26.95/100 000. The overall incidence rate of smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis showed a downward trend. Among the 1 832 newly diagnosed tuberculosis cases, the majority were male, aged 31~40 years old, spring onset, township residence and rural residence, farmers and students. The predicted incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Meishan City from 2014 to 2019 based on grey GM(1,1) model is basically consistent with the actual incidence, and the predicted incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in 2020 and 2021 are 27.68/100 000 and 30.25/100 000 respectively. Conclusion The incidence of newly diagnosed pulmonary tuberculosis in Meishan City from 2014 to 2019 has a downward trend in general, while it may increase in the next two years, so the prevention and control measures for high-risk groups, regions and seasons should be strengthened.

Objective:To investigate the changes in liver function and peripheral regulatory lymphocytes before and after treatment in patients with occupational medicamentosa-like dermatitis due to trichloroethylene (OMDT) .Methods:In December 2019, 16 patients with OMDT (8 patients with erythema multiforme and 8 with erythema multiforme major) who were admitted from February 2017 to February 2019 were enrolled as subjects. Liver function parameters and percentages of peripheral regulatory lymphocytes were measured before and after treatment, and the changes in liver function and peripheral regulatory T and B lymphocytes and their correlation were analyzed. Results:Before treatment, compared with the healthy control group, the experimental group had significantly higher levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) , aspartate aminotransferase (AST) , total bilirubin (TBIL) , direct bilirubin (DBIL) and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) and significantly lower levels of total protein (TP) , albumin (ALB) and cholinesterase (CHE) ( P<0.05) . Compared with the healthy control group, the experimental group had significantly lower percentages of lymphocytes, CD4 + T cells, CD4 +CD25 + Tregs, CD19 +CD24 +CD27 + Bregs and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio, as well as a significantly higher percentage of CD8 + T cells ( P<0.05) . Before treatment, the levels of ALT, AST, GGT and DBIL were negatively correlated with the percentages of CD4 +CD25 + Tregs, CD19 +CD24 +CD27 + Bregs, CD4 + T cells and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio ( r=-0.386 to -0.809, P<0.05) and was positively correlated with the percentage of CD8 + T cells (except DBIL) ( r=0.503-0.568, P<0.05) . The levels of TP and ALB were positively correlated with the percentages of CD4 +CD25 + Tregs, CD19 +CD24 +CD27 +Bregs and CD4 + T cells ( r= 0.351-0.784, P<0.05) , ALB was negatively correlated with the percentage of CD8 + T cells ( r=-0.315, P<0.05) . CHE was positively correlated with the percentages of CD4 +CD25 + Tregs, CD19 +CD24 +CD27 +Bregs and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio ( r=0.390-0.527, P<0.05) . Conclusion:Immune dysfunction is observed in patients with OMDT, which may be caused by the imbalance of regulatory lymphocytes. And liver injury may be associated with the increase of CD8 + T cells and the reductions of percentages of CD4 + T cells, CD4 +CD25 + Tregs, CD19 +CD24 +CD27 +Bregs and CD4 +/CD8 + ratio.
