1.Rapid Identification of Different Parts of Nardostachys jatamansi Based on HS-SPME-GC-MS and Ultra-fast Gas Phase Electronic Nose

		                        			ObjectiveTo establish a model that can quickly identify the aroma components in different parts of Nardostachys jatamansi, so as to provide a quality control basis for the market circulation and clinical use of N. jatamansi. MethodsHeadspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(HS-SPME-GC-MS) combined with Smart aroma database and National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST) database were used to characterize the aroma components in different parts of N. jatamansi, and the aroma components were quantified according to relative response factor(RRF) and three internal standards, and the markers of aroma differences in different parts of N. jatamansi were identified by orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis(OPLS-DA) and cluster thermal analysis based on variable importance in the projection(VIP) value >1 and P<0.01. The odor data of different parts of N. jatamansi were collected by Heracles Ⅱ Neo ultra-fast gas phase electronic nose, and the correlation between compound types of aroma components collected by the ultra-fast gas phase electronic nose and the detection results of HS-SPME-GC-MS was investigated by drawing odor fingerprints and odor response radargrams. Chromatographic peak information with distinguishing ability≥0.700 and peak area≥200 was selected as sensor data, and the rapid identification model of different parts of N. jatamansi was established by principal component analysis(PCA), discriminant factor alysis(DFA), soft independent modeling of class analogies(SIMCA) and statistical quality control analysis(SQCA). ResultsThe HS-SPME-GC-MS results showed that there were 28 common components in the underground and aboveground parts of N. jatamansi, of which 22 could be quantified and 12 significantly different components were screened out. Among these 12 components, the contents of five components(ethyl isovalerate, 2-pentylfuran, benzyl alcohol, nonanal and glacial acetic acid,) in the aboveground part of N. jatamansi were significantly higher than those in the underground part(P<0.01), the contents of β-ionone, patchouli alcohol, α-caryophyllene, linalyl butyrate, valencene, 1,8-cineole and p-cymene in the underground part of N. jatamansi were significantly higher than those in the aboveground part(P<0.01). Heracles Ⅱ Neo electronic nose results showed that the PCA discrimination index of the underground and aboveground parts of N. jatamansi was 82, and the contribution rates of the principal component factors were 99.94% and 99.89% when 2 and 3 principal components were extracted, respectively. The contribution rate of the discriminant factor 1 of the DFA model constructed on the basis of PCA was 100%, the validation score of the SIMCA model for discrimination of the two parts was 99, and SQCA could clearly distinguish different parts of N. jatamansi. ConclusionHS-SPME-GC-MS can clarify the differential markers of underground and aboveground parts of N. jatamansi. The four analytical models provided by Heracles Ⅱ Neo electronic nose(PCA, DFA, SIMCA and SQCA) can realize the rapid identification of different parts of N. jatamansi. Combining the two results, it is speculated that terpenes and carboxylic acids may be the main factors contributing to the difference in aroma between the underground and aboveground parts of N. jatamansi.

		                        			The Expert Consensus on Clinical Application of Qinbaohong Zhike Oral Liquid in Treatment of Acute Bronchitis and Acute Attack of Chronic Bronchitis (GS/CACM 337-2023) was released by the China Association of Chinese Medicine on December 13th, 2023. This expert consensus was developed by experts in methodology, pharmacy, and Chinese medicine in strict accordance with the development requirements of the China Association of Chinese Medicine (CACM) and based on the latest medical evidence and the clinical medication experience of well-known experts in the fields of respiratory medicine (pulmonary diseases) and pediatrics. This expert consensus defines the application of Qinbaohong Zhike oral liquid in the treatment of cough and excessive sputum caused by phlegm-heat obstructing lung, acute bronchitis, and acute attack of chronic bronchitis from the aspects of applicable populations, efficacy evaluation, usage, dosage, drug combination, and safety. 3.Assocation of family environment and depressive symptoms among primary and secondary school students in Shanxi province

		                        			Objective:
		                        			To explore the assocation of the family environment and depressive symptoms among primary and middle school students, so as to provide suggestions for further maximizing the utility of family environment in the growth of primary and secondary school students, as well as prevention and intervention of depressive symptoms among children and adolescents.
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			From June to July 2024, through a multistage cluster random sampling method, 8 800 primary and middle school students aged 10 to 18 from 36 schools in 3 cities (Datong, Lvliang, Linfen) in Shanxi Province. A self designed questionnaire was used to conduct a family environment survey, including family socioeconomic conditions, family structure, family parenting behavior, family member health behavior, etc; and the depression symptoms of primary and secondary school students were investigated by Patient Health Questionnaire-9. The χ 2 test and binary Logistic regression to method were used to analyze the association of the family environment with depressive symptoms among primary and secondary school students, and to analyze gender and urban-rural heterogeneity in this association.
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The detection rate of depressive symptoms among primary and middle school students was 46.7% ( n = 4 111 ). Among them, the detection rates of depressive symptoms for male and female students were 45.7% and 47.7% respectively, and the detection rates for rural and urban students were 48.0% and 44.9% respectively. The results of binary Logistic regression model showed that in the family environment, factors such as the father s education level (junior high school:  OR =0.84), self assessed family socio economic status (average:  OR =0.78, good:  OR =0.80), parental support and understanding (yes:  OR = 0.55 ), family atmosphere (harmonious:  OR =0.66), living arrangement (living only with father or mother:  OR =1.31, living with parents and grandparents:  OR =1.19), and family rearing style (combining  punishment and reward:  OR =1.42, punishment only:  OR =1.25) were related to depressive symptoms in primary and middle school students in Shanxi Province ( P <0.05). From the perspective of gender heterogeneity, the living arrangement (living only with father or mother:  OR =1.67, others:  OR =1.67) had a statistically significant association with depressive symptoms in male students ( P <0.05). From the perspective of urban rural heterogeneity, the living arrangement (living only with father or mother:  OR =1.38) had a statistically significant association with depressive symptoms in rural primary and middle school students ( P <0.05).
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			The family environment has an important impact on depressive symptoms in primary and middle school students. 4.Relationship of physical activity and screen time with overweight and obesity among children and adolescents with special needs in Tianjin

		                        			Objective:
		                        			To investigate the association of physical activity and screen time with overweight and obesity among children and adolescents with special needs in Tianjin, so as to provide scientific evidence for childhood obesity prevention and intervention measures in the population.
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			From January 2022 to June 2024, 296 children and adolescents with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders aged 2-18 years were recruited from special education schools and institutions in Tianjin. Height and weight were measured, and a standardized questionnaire was used to assess physical activity and screen time. Binary Logistic regression analysis was carried out to investigate the association of physical activity and screen time with overweight and obesity.
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The prevalence of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents with special needs in Tianjin were 17.2% and 21.6%, respectively, and the combined prevalence of overweight and obesity was 38.9%. The median of moderatetovigorous physical activity (MVPA) time was 0.20 h/d, and physical activity sufficiency rate was 7.8%. The median of screen time was 1.79 h/d, and the screen time compliance rate was 68.2%. The binary Logistic regression results showed that lower levels of MVPA time and increased screen time were associated with a higher risk of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents with special needs [OR(95%CI)=1.80(1.06-3.07), 2.40(1.42-4.07),P<0.05].
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			Insufficient physical activity and excessive screen time are associated with an increased risk of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents with special needs. Therefore, comprehensive intervention measures should be implemented as early as possible to prevent and reduce the incidence of overweight and obesity in this population.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
5.Structure, content and psychometric properties of assessment tools for interoceptive function: a scoping review based on COSMIN and ICF

		                        			ObjectiveTo review the interoceptive assessment tools in terms of structure, content and psychometric properties, based on the framework of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). MethodsThe literature on interoceptive evaluation tools was retrieved from databases of CNKI, PubMed, Medline and EBSCO. The principal structures and contents of the assessment tools were analyzed based on the ICF framework, and the quality of the psychometric properties were appraised using COSMIN. ResultsA total of 13 interoceptive assessment tools were ultimately included, involving 16 literature references. There were five interoceptive sensitivity tools, four accuracy tools and four awareness tools. In terms of content, interoceptive sensitivity tools involved 33 categories of body functions, six categories of activities and participation, and one of environmental factors; while interoceptive accuracy tools only involved seven categories of body function, and two of activities and participation items; interoceptive awareness tools involved 30 categories of body function, four categories of activities and participation, and three of environmental factors. In terms of psychometric properties, Body Perception Questionnaire-Short Form (BPQ-SF) was the sensitivity tool with the best reliability and validity (qualified rate of 7/8), followed by Interoceptive Sensitivity Questionnaire (ISQ) (qualified rate of 6/8). Most of the accuracy tools adopted standardized measurement methods, but lacked sufficient reliability and validity verification. The awareness tools were good in reliability and validity (qualified rate above 5/8), especially Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA-1) and Body Awareness Questionnaire (BAQ) (qualified rate of 8/8). ConclusionBPQ-SF and ISQ are recommended for interoceptive sensitivity assessment, Water-loading Test and Heart-beat Tracking Task for interoceptive accuracy assessment, and MAIA-1 and BAQ for interoceptive awareness assessment.

		                        			As a complex autoimmune disease, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) involves immune microenvironment dysregulation resulting from excessive activation of pyroptosis, which is a crucial factor in disease progression. Based on the theory of ying-wei in traditional Chinese medicine, "ying decline and wei attack" is considered the fundamental pathogenesis of RA. Pyroptosis serves as a microscopic manifestation of this concept, suggesting a potential correlation between "ying decline and wei attack" and pyroptosis nd immune microenvironment dysregulation in RA. Accordingly, treatment principles based on this theory are proposed: in the early stage of the disease, boosting wei to consolidate the exterior, and regulating ying to dispel pathogens; in the middle and late stages, harmonizing ying to remove stagnation, and nourishing its transformational source. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
7.Distribution characteristics, source apportionment, and health risk assessment of metals and metalloids in PM2.5 in a southern city in 2019

		                        			Background Metals and metalloids in fine particulate matter (PM2.5) may cause damage to the respiratory and circulatory systems of the human body, and long-term exposure is prone to causing chronic poisoning, cancer, and other adverse effects. Objective To assess the distribution characteristics of metals and metalloids in outdoor PM2.5 in a southern city of China, conduct source apportionment, and evaluate the associated health risks, thereby providing theoretical support for further pollution control measures. Methods PM2.5 samples were collected in districts A, B, and C of a southern China city, and the concentrations of 17 metals and metalloids were detected by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Pollution sources were assessed through enrichment factor and principal components analysis, and the main pollution sources were quantified using absolute principal component scores-multivariate linear regression (APCS-MLR). Health risks were evaluated based on the Technical guide for environmental health risk assessment of chemical exposure (WS/T777—2021). Results The ambient air PM2.5 concentrations in the city were higher in winter and spring, and lower in summer and autumn. The annual average concentrations of ambient PM2.5 in districts A, B, and C were 36.7, 31.9, and 24.4 μg·m−3, respectively. The ambient PM2.5 levels in districts B and C were below the second-grade limit set by the Ambient air quality standards (GB 3095—2012). The enrichment factors of cadmium (Cd), aluminum (Al), and antimony (Sb) were greater than 10, those of copper (Cu), lead (Pb), arsenic (As), nickel (Ni), mercury (Hg), and molybdenum (Mo) fell between 1 and 10, and those of manganese (Mn), vanadium (V), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), barium (Ba), beryllium (Be), and uranium (U) were below or equal to 1. The comprehensive evaluation of source analysis showed that the main pollution sources in districts A and C and the whole city were coal-burning. In district B, the main pollution source was also coal combustion, followed by industrial process sources and dust sources. The carcinogenic risks of As and Cr were between 1×10−6 and 1×10−4. However, the hazard quotients for 15 metals and metalloids in terms of non-carcinogenic risk were below 1. Conclusion Cr and As in the atmospheric PM2.5 of the city present a certain risk of cancer and should be paid attention to. 9.Improvement of quality control methods and “quality evaluation via color discrimination”of Hypericum perforatum

		                        			OBJECTIVE To provide a reference for the quality control of Hypericum perforatum. METHODS High- performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to establish fingerprints for 20 batches of H. perforatum and determine the contents of its main components: chlorogenic acid, rutin, hyperin, isoquercitrin, avicularin, quercitrin and quercetin. Cluster analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 software. The chromaticity values (luminance value L*, red-green value a*, and yellow- blue value b*) of H. perforatum powder were measured using electronic eye. A prediction model for the contents of seven components in H. perforatum based on its appearance chromaticity values was established using machine learning algorithms. The predictive performance of the models was evaluated using root-mean-square-error (RMSE). RESULTS A total of 16 common peaks were calibrated in the fingerprints of 20 batches of H. perforatum, and 9 peaks were identified, which were chlorogenic acid, rutin, hyperin, isoquercitrin, avicularin, quercitrin, quercetin, hypericin and hyperforin; the similarities of the 20 batches of samples and reference fingerprint ranged from 0.889-0.987. The contents of chlorogenic acid, rutin, hyperin, isoquercitrin, avicularin, quercitrin and quercetin were 0.025%-0.166%, 0.048%-0.339%, 0.082%-0.419%, 0.017%-0.209%, 0.011%-0.134%, 0.020%-0.135%, 0.041%-0.235%, respectively. Cluster analysis results showed that 18 batches of qualified H. perforatum were grouped into three categories, when the Euclidean distance was set to 1.4. L* of the 20 batches of H. perforatum ranged from 62.814 to 75.668, a* ranged from 1.409 to 3.490, and b* ranged from 25.249 to 30.759. RMSE of three prediction models, namely XGBoost, LightGBM, and AdaBoost, ranged from 0.008 to 0.070, indicating good fitting performance. XGBoost model predicted the contents of the other six components with high accuracy, except for rutin. CONCLUSIONS The established fingerprints and content determination methods are accurate, reproducible, and reliable. The content prediction model based on appearance chromaticity values, combined with machine learning algorithms, can be used for the quality control of H. perforatum.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
10.Exploration of the antidepressant machanism of Shugan hewei tang based on metabolomics of PFC-NAc-VTA neural circuit

		                        			OBJECTIVE To investigate the antidepressant mechanism of Shugan hewei tang (SGHWT) based on the metabolomics of prefrontal cortex (PFC)-nucleus accumbens (NAc)-ventral tegmental area (VTA) neural circuit. METHODS Male SD rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, SGHWT low-, medium- and high-dose groups [3.67, 7.34, 14.68 g/(kg·d), by raw material], and fluoxetine group [1.58 mg/(kg·d), positive control], with 12 rats in each group. Except for the blank group, the depression model was established by chronic unpredictable mild stress combined with individual cage housing in the remaining groups, and the corresponding drug solution or normal saline was administered via gavage during modeling, once a day, for 6 consecutive weeks. After the last administration, the body weight, sucrose preference rate, total moving distance, frequency into the center and immobility time of rats in each group were detected. Samples of PFC, NAc and VTA areas of rats in the blank group, model group, SGHWT medium-dose group and fluoxetine positive control groups were collected,and their histomorphological features were observed, and non-targeted metabolomics analysis (except for fluoxetine group)were performed and validated. RESULTS Compared with model group, the cytolysis, structural damage and other pathological damages in three brain regions of rats were significantly alleviated in each drug group, while their body weight, sucrose preference rate, total moving distance and frequency into the center were all significantly higher or longer (P<0.05), and immobility time was significantly shorter (P<0.05). The results of non-targeted metabolomics showed that a total of 78 endogenous differential metabolites were identified, with 40, 35 and 24 in the PFC, NAc and VTA regions respectively, mainly involved in amino acid, lipid and sphingolipid metabolism. The results of metabolic pathway enrichment analysis showed that SGHWT affected the neural circuits of depressed rats by regulating sphingolipid metabolism, alanine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid metabolism, saturated fatty acid biosynthesis, among which alanine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid metabolism was predominantly involved. Validation experiments showed that SGHWT significantly increased the phosphorylation levels of protein kinase B (Akt) and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), and decreased the protein expression of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid receptor 1 (NMDAR1) in the NAc region of rats. CONCLUSIONS SGHWT significantly improves the depression-like behavior and attenuates pathological damage of PFC-NAc-VTA neural circuit of model rats, the mechanism of which is associated with inhibiting NMDAR1 expression and activating the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.
