1.Characteristics of ecological executive function in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

		                        			BackgroundExecutive function deficits constitute a core problem in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Previous assessments of executive function in children with ADHD have predominantly relied on performance-based neuropsychological tests conducted in laboratory settings, though their predictive validity for real-world functional outcomes remains limited. In contrast, ecological executive function emphasizes the evaluation of complex task management in naturalistic contexts, demonstrating a stronger predictive power for functional adaptation in daily living among children with ADHD, such as multitasking performance, social interactions and so on. However, current empirical evidence regarding ecological executive function in this population remains insufficient. ObjectiveTo investigate the executive function characteristics of children with ADHD from an ecological perspective, thereby providing references for developing targeted interventions. MethodsA case control study was conducted, including 277 ADHD children who met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fourth edition (DSM-IV) criteria and were selected at the Child Health Care and Mental Health Center of Shenzhen Children's Hospital from June 2017 to December 2020, as well as 98 healthy controls were recruited from primary and secondary schools in Shenzhen. All participants were assessed using Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, fourth edition (WISC-IV) and Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function (BRIEF). Differences in WISC-IV and BRIEF scores were compared between ADHD group and control groups, followed by the comparison of BRIEF scores by gender and ADHD subtypes. ResultsAmong the 277 children with ADHD, 136 cases (49.10%) had predominantly inattentive type (ADHD-I), 6 cases (2.17%) had predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type (ADHD-HI), and 135 cases (48.73%) had combined type (ADHD-C). ADHD group demonstrated significantly lower scores on both the WISC-IV total IQ and four index scores (verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory and processing speed) than control group (t=3.698~9.335, P<0.01). After controlling for WISC-IV total IQ as a covariate, the scores of each factor in the dimensions of behavioral regulation index (inhibition, shifting, emotional control) and metacognition index (task initiation, working memory, planning, monitoring and organization) were all higher in ADHD group than in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (F=46.563~290.475, P<0.01). In terms of gender, no statistically significant difference was found in BRIEF composite scores (behavioral regulation index or metacognition index) of children with ADHD (t=0.105~1.190, P>0.05). In terms of ADHD subtypes, children with ADHD-C reported significantly higher scores than those with ADHD-I on the scores of inhibition, emotional control, organization and monitoring in BRIEF (t=2.481~7.343, P<0.05 or 0.01). ConclusionChildren with ADHD have multidimensional deficits in ecological executive function, which vary across different subtypes. 2.Study on the protective effect of saikosaponin C on acute liver injury in mice based on metabolomics

		                        			OBJECTIVE To investigate the protective effect and mechanism of saikosaponin C (SSC) on acute liver injury (ALI) in mice induced by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) based on serum metabolomics. METHODS Forty mice were divided into blank group (water), model group (water), positive control drug group (Biphenyl diester drop pills, 150 mg/kg), and SSC low- and high-dose groups (2.5, 10 mg/kg) using the random number table method, with 8 mice in each group. They were given water/ relevant drugs, once a day, for 7 consecutive days. One hour after the last administration, all mice were intraperitoneally injected with 0.2% CCl4 olive oil to induce ALI model, except for the blank group. After 17 hours of the modeling, the liver index of mice was calculated. The levels of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and IL-1β in serum of mice were detected. The histopathological changes of liver tissue were observed. Meanwhile, the serum metabolomics of mice were analyzed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. RESULTS Compared with the blank group, the levels of liver index, ALT, AST, LDH, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β in the model group were significantly increased (P<0.01). Hepatocytes were edema, vacuolar degeneration, more necrosis, and a large number of inflammatory cells were infiltrated. Compared with the model group, liver index and serum index levels of mice were significantly decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01), accompanied by marked improvement in histopathological damage to the liver tissue. The metabolomics results showed that compared with the model group, there were 63 up-regulated and 256 down-regulated differential metabolites in the serum of mice in the SSC high-dose group, including prostaglandin B2, 20-hydroxy-leukotriene B4, 5- hydroxy-L-tryptophan, 7α -hydroxycholesterol, etc.; these metabolites were primarily involved in metabolic pathways such as arachidonic acid metabolism, 5-hydroxytryptamine synapse, primary bile acid biosynthesis. CONCLUSIONS SSC exerts a protective effect against CCl4-induced ALI by down-regulating the level of key metabolites such as prostaglandin B2 and 20-hydroxy-leukotriene B4, and then ruducing metabolic pathways such as arachidonic acid metabolism, 5- hydroxytryptamine synapse, and primary bile acid biosynthesis.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
3.Working practices in eliminating the public health crisis caused by viral hepatitis in Hainan Province of China

		                        			In 2022, Hainan provincial government launched the project for the prevention and control of viral hepatitis with the goals of a hepatitis B screening rate of 90%, a diagnostic rate of 90%, and a treatment rate of 80% among people aged 18 years and above by the year 2025, and the main intervention measures include population-based prevention, case screening, antiviral therapy, and health management. As of December 31, 2024, a total of 6.875 million individuals in the general population had been screened for hepatitis B, with a screening rate of 95.6%. A total of 184 710 individuals with positive HBsAg were identified, among whom 156 772 were diagnosed through serological reexamination, resulting in a diagnostic rate of 84.9%. A total of 50 742 patients with chronic hepatitis B were identified, among whom 42 921 had hepatitis B-specific health records established for health management, with a file establishment rate of 84.6%. A total of 31 553 individuals received antiviral therapy, with a treatment rate of 62.2%. A total of 2.503 million individuals at a high risk of hepatitis C were screened, among whom 4 870 tested positive for HCV antibody and 3 858 underwent HCV RNA testing, resulting in a diagnostic rate of 79.2%, and 1 824 individuals with positive HCV RNA were identified, among whom 1 194 received antiviral therapy, with a treatment rate of 65.5%. In addition, 159 301 individuals with negative HBsAg and anti-HBs and an age of 20 — 40 years were inoculated with hepatitis B vaccine free of charge. Through the implementation of the project for the prevention and control of viral hepatitis, a large number of hepatitis patients have been identified, treated, and managed in the province within a short period of time, which significantly accelerates the efforts to eliminate the crisis of viral hepatitis. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
4.Association between sleep quality and dry eye symptoms among adolescents

		                        			Objective:
		                        			To explore the association between sleep quality and dry eye symptoms in adolescents,so as to provide the evidence for reducing the prevalence of dry eye symptoms.
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			The study population was adolescents aged 12-24 years from the Psychology and Behavior Investigation of Chinese Residents (PBICR) survey, which was conducted from 20 June to 31 August 2022. A stratified random sampling and quota sampling method was used to select 6 456 adolescents within mainland China. The Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) and Brief version of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (B-PSQI) were used to assess dry eye symptoms and sleep quality. Multiple Logistic regression model was used to explore the relationship between sleep quality and dry eye symptoms in adolescents. The influence of gender on the association was explored by using interaction terms.
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			A total of 2 815 adolescents reported having dry eye symptoms, with a prevalence of 43.6%. Logistic regression analysis results showed an increased risk of exacerbation of dry eye symptoms in adolescents with poor sleep quality. The  OR (95% CI ) for mild, moderate, and severe dry eye symptoms groups were 1.39(1.16-1.67), 1.52(1.28-1.81), and 2.35(2.02-2.72), respectively, compared with the ocularly normal group ( P <0.05). There was a significant interaction between sleep quality and gender on dry eye symptoms in adolescents ( P <0.01).
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			Sleep quality is associated with dry eye symptoms in adolescents, and those with poor sleep quality have a higher risk of dry eye symptoms. 5.Exploration of radiotherapy as a combined treatment modality with in situ vaccines in the treatment of advanced soft tissue sarcomas

		                        			[摘  要]  目的:评估放疗作为原位疫苗的联合治疗模式在晚期软组织肉瘤(STS)患者中的有效性和安全性。方法:回顾性分析2020年12月至2024年9月期间在南京大学医学院附属鼓楼医院肿瘤中心接受联合治疗模式的12例晚期STS患者的临床资料。12例患者均接受了联合治疗。放疗主要以大分割为主。靶向治疗:安罗替尼10例、阿帕替尼2例。免疫治疗以PD-1抗体为主。主要研究终点为疾病控制率(DCR),次要研究终点为客观有效率(ORR)及安全性。结果:接受联合治疗的12例STS患者中有0例CR,4例PR,7例SD,1例PD。ORR为33%,DCR为91.7%,其中靶病灶的DCR为100%。12例患者中,9例出现Ⅰ~Ⅱ级不良反应。最常发生的血液学不良反应是贫血(6例)、肝功能检查结果异常(3例)。最常发生的非血液学不良反应是尿蛋白(5例)、高血压(4例)、甲状腺功能异常(3例)、厌食(3例)、恶心呕吐(2例);仅2例发生Ⅲ级血液毒性,有1例发生Ⅲ级气胸。结论:放疗作为原位疫苗的联合治疗模式在晚期STS患者中展现出较高的DCR,且未出现严重不良反应。该联合治疗模式具有良好的有效性与安全性。
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
6.Sema3A secreted by sensory nerve induces bone formation under mechanical loads.

		                        			Bone formation and deposition are initiated by sensory nerve infiltration in adaptive bone remodeling. Here, we focused on the role of Semaphorin 3A (Sema3A), expressed by sensory nerves, in mechanical loads-induced bone formation and nerve withdrawal using orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) model. Firstly, bone formation was activated after the 3rd day of OTM, coinciding with a decrease in sensory nerves and an increase in pain threshold. Sema3A, rather than nerve growth factor (NGF), highly expressed in both trigeminal ganglion and the axons of periodontal ligament following the 3rd day of OTM. Moreover, in vitro mechanical loads upregulated Sema3A in neurons instead of in human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) within 24 hours. Furthermore, exogenous Sema3A restored the suppressed alveolar bone formation and the osteogenic differentiation of hPDLCs induced by mechanical overload. Mechanistically, Sema3A prevented overstretching of F-actin induced by mechanical overload through ROCK2 pathway, maintaining mitochondrial dynamics as mitochondrial fusion. Therefore, Sema3A exhibits dual therapeutic effects in mechanical loads-induced bone formation, both as a pain-sensitive analgesic and a positive regulator for bone formation.

7. Expression and distribution of brain⁃derived neurotrophic factor in different cerebrum regions of yak and cattle

		                        			 Objective To clarify the expression and distribution of brain⁃derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in the cerebrum of plateau yaks and cattle, and to explore the relationship between BDNF function and the adaptability of altitude hypoxia. Methods Five yaks and five cattles were selected.The content and distribution of BDNF in frontal lobe, temporal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, cerebrum white matter and hippocampus of yak and cattle were analyzed by Real⁃time PCR, Western blotting and Immunohistochemistry. Results Real⁃time PCR result showed that BDNF mRNA expression in the cerebrum of yaks and cattles was highest in temporal cortex, followed by hippocampus, parietal cortex, occipital cortex and frontal cortex, and lowest in white matter. Western blotting results showed that the content of BDNF protein in the cerebrum of yaks was the highest in temporal cortex,followed by hippocampus. The content of BDNF protein in other tissues was parietal cortex, frontal cortex and cerebrum white matter, and the content of BDNF protein was the lowest in occipital cortex. The content of BDNF protein intlecerebrum of cattles was the highest in the temporal cortex, followed by the hippocampus. The content of BDNF protein in other tissues was parietal cortex, occipital cortex and frontal cortex in descending order, and the protein content in cerebrum white matter was the lowest. Immunohistochemical results showed that the positive expression of BDNF protein in the cerebrum of yaks and cattles was basically similar, mainly distributed in the granulosa cells and glial cells in the frontal cortex, temporal cortex, parietal cortex and occipital cortex, glial cells in cerebrum white matter, pyramidal cell layer and polyform cell layer in the hippocampus. There was the small amount of distribution in Martinotti cells and the molecular layer of hippocampus in the cerebral cortex. Conclusion BDNF mRNA and protein are distributed and expressed in different brain regions of yaks and cattles, but the expression level different, which is speculated to be closely related to the specific functions of different cerebrum regions. The expression level of the cerebrum of yak is higher than that of cattle except occipital cortex, suggesting that it is related to the altitude hypoxic environment. BDNF may play an important role in enhancing hypoxic tolerance and protecting internal environmental homeostasis in the process of animal adaptation to hypoxic environment. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
8.Methodological Evaluation of Advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment of Sjögren's Syndrome

		                        			Screening and evaluating the diseases responding specifically to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) will help to highlight the advantages of TCM treatment, and the evaluation method should be standardized with consideration to the unique characteristics of the diseases. The incidence of Sjögren's Syndrome (SS) is increasing year by year, while the pathogenesis of this disease remains unclear. Modern therapies for this disease include biological agents and immunosuppressants, which generally have unsatisfactory efficacy. The TCM treatment of SS focuses on the harmony of the physical and mental health. The Rheumatology Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine organizes experts in TCM, Western medicine, and evidence-based medicine to form working groups. Delphi method and bibliometric method were used for analysis, and SS was selected as a disease responding specifically to TCM. Furthermore, the evaluation system was established for this disease, and the consensus regarding this disease was reached after seminar discussion. This paper summarized the whole process of the evaluation of the advantages of TCM treatment of SS. First, because TCM atomization is widely used in clinical practice and enriches TCM administration methods, this therapy is included after other non-drug therapies were taken as characteristic therapies. Second, the evaluation indicators of therapeutic effect should be determined with consideration to international acceptance and the current research status. Third, the expression method should be accurate, standardized, and objective, highlight the natural advantages of TCM, and avoid arbitrary extension. 9.Effect of Linggui Zhugantang on Mitochondrial Fusion-fission and Sirt3/ AMPK Signaling Pathway in Chronic Heart Failure Rats After Myocardial Infarction

		                        			ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of Linggui Zhugantang on mitochondrial fission and fusion and silencing information regulator 3(Sirt3)/adenosine monophosphate dependent protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway in chronic heart failure (CHF) rats after myocardial infarction (MI). MethodSD rats randomly divide into sham operation group (normal saline ,thread only without ligature), model group (normal saline, ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery proximal to the heart), Linggui Zhugantang group (4.8 g·kg-1) and Captopril group (0.002 57 g·kg-1), with 10 rats in each group. Administere drug continuously for 28 days. Echocardiography detected cardiac function parameters. Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining observed the pathological changes of the heart. Immunofluorescence detected the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). JC-1 detect mitochondrial membrane potential. Colorimetry measure adenosine triphosphate (ATP), superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), mitochondrial respiratory chain complex activity (Ⅰ-Ⅳ). TdT-mediated dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining detected the apoptosis rate of myocardial tissue. Western blot detected protein expression levels of Sirt3, phosphorylated AMPK (p-AMPK), phosphorylated dynamic-related protein 1(p-Drp1), mitochondrial fission protein 1(Fis1), mitochondrial fission factor (MFF), optic atrophy protein 1(OPA1). ResultCompared to the sham group, the left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVIDd) and left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVIDs) were significantly increased in model group (P<0.01), while the left ventricular short axis shortening rate (LVFS) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were significantly decreased (P<0.01). There were inflammatory cell infiltration and obvious pathological injury in myocardial tissue. ROS, MDA levels and myocardial cell apoptosis rate were significantly increased (P<0.01), SOD level, ATP content, and membrane potential were significantly decreased (P<0.01). The activity of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes (Ⅰ-Ⅳ) was significantly decreased (P<0.01). Levels of p-Drp1, Fis1, MFF proteins were significantly up-regulated (P<0.01), while Sirt3, p-AMPK, OPA1 proteins level were significantly down-regulated (P<0.01). Compared with model group, LVIDd and LVIDs were significantly decreased (P<0.01), LVEF and LVFS were significantly increased (P<0.01). Inflammatory cell infiltration and pathological damage of myocardial tissue were significantly relieved. ROS, MDA levels and myocardial cell apoptosis rate were significantly decreased in Linggui Zhugantang group and Captopril group (P<0.01), SOD level, ATP content, and membrane potential significantly increased (P<0.01). The activity of mitochondrial respiratory chain complexes (Ⅰ-Ⅳ) increased significantly (P<0.01),and p-Drp1, Fis1, MFF protein levels were significantly down-regulated (P<0.01), Sirt3, p-AMPK, OPA1 protein were significantly up-regulated (P<0.01). ConclusionLinggui Zhugantang can alleviate oxidative stress and apoptosis damage of myocardial cells, maintain mitochondrial function stability, and its effect may be related to mitochondrial mitosis fusion and Sirt3/AMPK signaling pathway. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
10.Efficacy evaluation and prognostic factors analysis of retinoblastoma based on propensity score inverse probability weighting method

		                        			Objective To evaluate the efficacy of surgery,chemotherapy and surgery combined chemotherapy for retinoblastoma(RB),and analyze the prognostic factors of RB patients.Methods Clinical data of 1188 RB patients registered in the Surveillance,Epidemiology and End Results(SEER)database from January 2000 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.The baseline characteristics of patients treated with surgery,chemotherapy or surgery combined with chemotherapy were balanced by inverse probability of treatment weighting(IPTW).Log-rank test analysis was used to compare the survival probability of patients in the 3 groups,and Cox regression models were used to analyse the factors influencing the prognosis of RB patients.Results A total of 1188 RB cases were included in this study,including 426 cases in surgery group,200 cases in chemotherapy group and 562 cases in surgery combined with chemotherapy group.After IPTW weighting,baseline data such as age,sex and race were balanced(P>0.05).Log-rank test results showed that the survival curves of the three groups were significantly different before and after weighting(P<0.05).After weighted,the survival of patients in surgery group was significantly better than that in chemotherapy group and surgery combined chemotherapy group(P<0.05),and there was no statistical significance between chemotherapy group and surgery combined chemotherapy group(P>0.05).The weighted patient survival probability at 1st,3rd and 5th years were 99.7%,98.9%and 98.6%in surgery group;97.4%,95.8%and 95.8%in chemotherapy group;and 97.9%,95.8%and 95.0%in surgery combined chemotherapy group.Cox regression analysis showed that compared with surgery group,the specific risk ratio of death was 1.367(95%CI 1.100-1.700)in chemotherapy group and 1.132(95%CI 0.963-1.330)in combined chemotherapy group.Compared with patients with 1 RB lesion,the patient-specific mortality risk ratio for patients with 2 or more RB lesions was 0.399(95%CI 0.268-0.594).Conclusions Patients with RB have higher survival rates probability after treatment.After controlling the influence of age,sex and other factors,the effect of surgery was better among the three treatment methods.Multifocality may be an independent prognostic factor in RB patients.
