Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(9):1304-1308
Objective:
To develop an assessment tool for risky road behavior tendencies among middle school students in western China, as well as to determine the relevant indices and their weights, so as to provide the reference for road safety prevention and control for middle school students in western China.
Methods:
A Delphi study was employed to construct the assessment tool for risky road behavior tendencies among middle school students in western China. In August 2023, eighteen experts in related fields such as traffic safety, education, and healthcare were invited to achieve Delphi consensus. The final indices were initially selected based on the consulting results, followed by the determination of their individual and combined weights using the analytic hierarchy process.
Results:
The finalized assessment tool comprised 3 primary indicators, 13 secondary indicators, and 100 tertiary indicators. The positivity coefficient of experts was 100%, accompanied by the authority coefficient 0.90. The mean importance scores for the three primary indicators varied from 4.67 to 4.78, while those for the 13 secondary indicators ranged from 4.22 to 4.89. The Kendall coefficient W was statistically significant at 0.32 ( χ 2=96.83, P <0.05). The weights assigned to the three primary indicators were:ability (0.329 4), opportunity (0.337 3), and motivation (0.333 3). The secondary indicators with the top three highest combined weights were social influence (0.027 4), knowledge (0.027 3), and skills (0.026 7).
Conclusions
The assessment tool for risky road behavior tendencies among middle school students in western China demonstrates high expert consensus, with balanced weighting of primary and secondary indicators. Expanded use of the assessment tool would provide the data support for intervention work.

The seventy-two grid palm technique is an important theoretical source of traditional Chinese medicine hand diagnosis. Starting from the ecological medical model, we analyse the seventy-two grid palm technique, and believe that its diagnosis of human body integrates biological, ecological, psychological, social and other factors, and each factor is based on physiological and pathological theories, and its external social interpretation of the nature of the human body is inseparable from health state. It is proposed that the seventy-two grid palm technique should be integrated with the ecological and natural viewpoints based on the biomedical models or bio-psycho-social medical models, and the research should be conducted from the perspective of the ecological medical model, in order to promote the development of hand diagnosis.

Lung cancer is the fastest-growing cancer type in terms of incidence and mortality worldwide, posing a huge threat to the health and life of the population. Radiation therapy is one of the main methods for treating lung cancer, and there is a clear dose-effect relationship between the radiation dose and local control rate of lung cancer. However, the lung is a radiation dose-limiting organ, and the radiation resistance of lung cancer tissues and the radiation damage to normal tissues limit the radiation efficacy for lung cancer. The pathogenesis of lung cancer in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is characterized by an initial deficiency in vital Qi, followed by the internal invasion and gradual accumulation of pathogenic Qi. After radiation therapy for lung cancer, the body's vital Qi becomes weaker, and syndromes of phlegm coagulation, Qi stagnation, and static blood blocking collaterals become more severe, leading to radiation resistance of lung cancer tissues. Therefore, the key issue to better clinical efficacy of radiation therapy for lung cancer patients is to use drugs to enhance the radiation sensitivity of lung cancer cells and improve the radiation tolerance of normal lung tissues. TCM can be used as a radiation sensitizer by regulating the cell cycle to increase the proportion of cells in the radiation-sensitive phase, promoting upregulation of pro-apoptotic genes and downregulation of anti-apoptotic genes to induce cell apoptosis, enhancing DNA damage caused by radiation and inhibiting damage repair, improving blood circulation and tissue oxygen supply, and so on, to enhance the sensitivity of tumor cells to radiation and amplify the toxicity of radiation to tumor tissues. TCM can also be used as a radiation protector by inhibiting cell damage, regulating cytokines and immune balance, reducing the release of inflammatory and fibrotic factors, and inhibiting the activation of related signaling pathways to prevent and treat radiation-induced lung injury. This article systematically reviewed the research results of TCM on radiation sensitization and radiation protection in lung cancer in recent years, aiming to elucidate the mechanism of TCM in regulating the effect of radiation therapy for lung cancer and provide more theoretical and practical basis for TCM to participate in improving the prognosis of lung cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.

Objective:To explore the correlation between structural chromosomal abnormality and clinical characteristics of a child featuring gonadal dysplasia. Methods:A 13-year-old child who was admitted to Lianyungang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital on February 7, 2023 for primary amenorrhoea and occasional abdominal pain was selected as the study subject. Clinical data of the child was collected, and peripheral blood samples of the child and her parents were collected. G-banding chromosomal karyotyping and copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq) were carried out. "Pseudodual centromere isochromosome X" and "psu idic(X)" were used as keywords to search the CNKI, Wanfang and PubMed databases, and the search period was set as from January 1, 2002 to June 1, 2023. Relevant literature on the structural abnormality of X chromosome was searched and analyzed retrospectively. Results:The child has a height of 153 cm and weighed 45 kg. She has no obvious facial dysmorphism. Laboratory tests showed that she had higher FSH and luteinizing hormone, and lower E2. Ultrasonography showed that she had small ovaries and rudimentary uterus. She was found to have a karyotype of 46, X, psu idic(X)(q21.3)[40]/mos 45, X[3], whilst both of her parents had a normal karyotype. CNV-seq showed that she had a 63.27 Mb deletion in Xq21.32q28 and a 91.59 Mb duplication in Xp22.33q21.32 (mosaicism rate = 74%). A total of 11 relevant literature were retrieved. Clinical phenotypes of patients with similar structural chromosomal abnormalities were diverse, which was closely related to the mosaicism rate of the 45, X karyotype and the location of the breaking point.Conclusion:46, X, psu idic(X)(q21.3)/45, X probably underlay the dysplasia of uterus and ovary and sex hormone abnormalities in this child, while her height was spared. Deletion of Xq21.32q28 is a key factor leading to Turner syndrome-like phenotype such as rudimentary uterus and ovarian dysplasia.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2024;31(7):14-19
Lung cancer is the cancer type with the highest incidence rate and mortality among malignant tumors in China.Tumor associated macrophages(TAMs)are closely related to the occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis, and treatment tolerance of lung cancer. This article explored the etiology and pathogenesis of lung cancer in TCM,as well as the key role of TAMs in lung cancer. It was found that the local imbalance of yin and yang in TAMs,as well as the overall imbalance of yin and yang in the tumor microenvironment and whole body, were important reasons for the formation and progression of lung cancer. In the progression and sequelae of lung cancer,M1 and M2 type TAMs each plays different roles and has different yin and yang properties. Both of them maintain a constantly developing and changing state of mutual use, opposing constraints, and balance of growth and decline.Based on the yin-yang theory in TCM,according to the progression of lung cancer and the imbalance of yin and yang, rational selection and medication can adjust the phenotype of TAMs,promote the overall balance of yin and yang, and provide reference for the clinical prevention and treatment of lung cancer.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2023;40(4):490-494
OBJECTIVE:
To explore the genetic basis for a fetus with severe heart defect and mosaic trisomy 12, and the correlation between chromosomal abnormalities and clinical manifestations and pregnancy outcome.
METHODS:
A 33-year-old pregnant woman who presented at Lianyungang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital on May 17, 2021 due to abnormal fetal heart development revealed by ultrasonography was selected as the study subject. Clinical data of the fetus were collected. Amniotic fluid sample of the pregnant women was collected and subjected to G-banded chromosomal karyotyping and chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA). The CNKI, WanFang and PubMed databases were searched with key words, with the retrieval period set as from June 1, 1992 to June 1, 2022.
RESULTS:
For the 33-year-old pregnant woman, ultrasonography at 22+6 gestational weeks had revealed abnormal fetal heart development and ectopic pulmonary vein drainage. G-banded karyotyping showed that the fetus has a karyotype of mos 47,XX,+12[1]/46,XX[73], with the mosaicism rate being 1.35%. CMA results suggested that about 18% of fetal chromosome 12 was trisomic. A newborn was delivered at 39 weeks of gestation. Follow-up confirmed severe congenital heart disease, small head circumference, low-set ears and auricular deformity. The infant had died 3 months later. The database search has retrieved 9 reports. Literature review suggested that the liveborn infants with mosaic trisomy 12 had diverse clinical manifestations depending on the affected organs, which had included congenital heart disease and/or other organs and facial dysmorphisms, resulting in adverse pregnancy outcomes.
CONCLUSION
Trisomy 12 mosaicism is an important factor for severe heart defects. The results of ultrasound examination have important value for evaluating the prognosis of the affected fetuses.
