With the rapid development of social economy and the continuous improvement of human living standard, the incidence, fatality and recurrence rates of cardiovascular disease (CVD) are increasing year by year, which seriously affects people's life and health. Conventional therapeutic drugs have limited improvement on the disability rate, so the search for new therapeutic drugs and action targets has become one of the hotspots of current research. In recent years, the therapeutic role of the natural compound rosmarinic acid (RA) in CVD has attracted much attention, which is capable of preventing CVD by modulating multiple signalling pathways and exerting physiological activities such as antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-platelet aggregation, as well as anti-coagulation and endothelial function protection. In this paper, the role of RA in the prevention of CVD is systematically sorted out, and its mechanism of action is summarised and analysed, with a view to providing a scientific basis and important support for the in-depth exploration of the prevention value of RA in CVD and its further development as a prevention drug.

Objective To analyze the detection rate and risk factors of pulmonary infection in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD). Methods A total of 308 patients with AECOPD hospitalized at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College were selected from October 2020 to October 2023 as the research subjects. The incidence of pulmonary infections was analyzed, and univariate and logistic multivariate regression analyses were conducted to identify the risk factors of pulmonary infections. Results Among the 308 patients with AECOPD, 155 cases (50.32%) had pulmonary infection and were selected as the infected group, and 153 cases without pulmonary infection were included in the uninfected group. There were no obvious differences in gender, body mass index, education level, drinking history, hypertension, heart failure and malnutrition between the two groups (P>0.05). There were significant differences between the two groups in age, hospitalization time, mechanical ventilation history, smoking history, glucocorticoid use time, and diabetes mellitus (P<0.05). Logistic analysis showed that the ORs of pulmonary infection risk in AECOPD patients with age ≥ 60 years old, hospitalization time ≥ 14 days, mechanical ventilation history, glucocorticoid use time ≥ 7 days, diabetes mellitus, and smoking history were 2.740 (1.024-7.330), 4.586 (2.318-9.071), 3.971 (1.806-8.731), 3.264 (1.419-7.508), 2.680 (1.012-7.100), and 2.826 (1.156-6.909), respectively. Conclusion The risk of pulmonary infection is high in AECOPD patients, which is influenced by factors such as age, hospitalization time, mechanical ventilation history, smoking history, and glucocorticoid use time. Clinical screening should be focused on the above indicators and active prevention and treatment measures should be taken to reduce the occurrence of pulmonary infection.

OBJECTIVE To investigate whether Moslae herba oil has penetration enhancing effect on the active components of Evodia rutaecarpa and its ability to promote transdermal absorption.METHODS In vitro transdermal experiments were performed u-sing the diffusion pool and the isolated skin of rats.Using various components of Evodia rutaecarpa as indicators,HPLC was deter-mined to calculate the umulative penetration amount of each component.Changes in the skin and cuticle layers were observed by HE staining, immunohistochemical staining, and ATR-FTIR.GC-MS was used to measure Moslae herba oil components after administration.RESULTS Moslae herba oil showed the penetration-enhancing effect on various components in Evodia rutaecarpa.Compared with the postive drug nitrogenone, the cumulative penetration amounts of hyperoside, evodiamine and rutae-carpine were greater. In addition, the sesquiterpene composition and thymol in the Moslae herba oil were more likely to be stored in the skin, which could disturb the lipid structure of the cuticle layer and promote the penetration of drugs.CONCLUSION The results provide reference for the selection of transdermal absorption agent.

To understand Helicobacter pylori's drug resistance, genetic diversity, and relationship with clinical diseases in the Guiyang and Qiannan minority areas of Guizhou Province,we collected samples through endoscopy, and isolated and cul-tured H.pylori.The drug resistance and genotype characteristics were determined. The differences in different regions and dis-ease types were compared, and the structural characteristics of H.pylori and mixed infections with different strains of H.py-lori in Qiannan Prefecture were analyzed.A difference in the composition ratio of EPYIA typing in the cagA variable region was observed between the two areas(P=0.012),and the composition ratio of the vacA genotype differed(P=0.000).A total of 94.6%(53/56)new sequences of H.pylori strains from two regions were obtained by MLST.The rate of infection by H.pylori mixed with different strains was 44.4%in Qiannan Pre-fecture,and no significant difference was observed in the com-position of H.pylori mixed infections among patients with dif-ferent clinical diseases(P=0.349).Differences in EPI YA typ-ing and the vacA genotype composition ratio in the cagA varia-ble region of H.pylori were observed between the Qiannan Prefecture and Guiyang City.

The male patient, one day old,was admitted to the hospital due to hypoglycemia accompanied by apnea appearing six hours after birth. The patient had transient hypoglycemia early after birth, and acute heart failure suddenly occurred on the eighth day after birth.Laboratory tests showed significantly reduced levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone and cortisol, and pituitary magnetic resonance imaging was normal.Genetic testing results showed that the patient had probably pathogenic compound heterozygous mutations of the TBX19 gene(c.917-2A>G+c.608C>T),inherited respectively from the parents. The patient was conclusively diagnosed with congenital isolated adrenocorticotropic hormone deficiency caused by mutation of the TBX19 gene.Upon initiating hydrocortisone replacement therapy, cardiac function rapidly returned to normal. After being discharged, the patient continued with the hydrocortisone replacement therapy.By the 18-month follow-up,the patient was growing and developing well.In neonates, unexplained acute heart failure requires caution for possible endocrine hereditary metabolic diseases, and timely cortisol testing and genetic testing should be conducted.[Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics,2024,26(3):321-324,V]

Objective To investigate the incidence rate, clinical characteristics, and prognosis of neonatal stroke in Shenzhen,China. Methods Led by Shenzhen Children's Hospital, the Shenzhen Neonatal Data Collaboration Network organized 21 institutions to collect 36 cases of neonatal stroke from January 2020 to December 2022.The incidence, clinical characteristics, treatment, and prognosis of neonatal stroke in Shenzhen were analyzed. Results The incidence rate of neonatal stroke in 21 hospitals from 2020 to 2022 was 1/15 137,1/6 060,and 1/7 704,respectively.Ischemic stroke accounted for 75%(27/36);boys accounted for 64%(23/36).Among the 36 neonates,31(86%)had disease onset within 3 days after birth, and 19(53%)had convulsion as the initial presentation.Cerebral MRI showed that 22 neonates(61%)had left cerebral infarction and 13(36%)had basal ganglia infarction.Magnetic resonance angiography was performed for 12 neonates, among whom 9(75%)had involvement of the middle cerebral artery.Electroencephalography was performed for 29 neonates, with sharp waves in 21 neonates(72%)and seizures in 10 neonates(34%).Symptomatic/supportive treatment varied across different hospitals.Neonatal Behavioral Neurological Assessment was performed for 12 neonates(33%,12/36),with a mean score of(32±4)points.The prognosis of 27 neonates was followed up to around 12 months of age, with 44%(12/27)of the neonates having a good prognosis. Conclusions Ischemic stroke is the main type of neonatal stroke, often with convulsions as the initial presentation, involvement of the middle cerebral artery, sharp waves on electroencephalography, and a relatively low neurodevelopment score.Symptomatic/supportive treatment is the main treatment method, and some neonates tend to have a poor prognosis.
