Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(14):6-9
The study aimed to analyse the effects of Livcol, a herbal medication, on chronic hepatitis B. The patients were divided into two groups: the study group using Livcol, the control group using Fortec for 1 months. Results: Almost clinical menifestations reduced or disappeared, transaminase level was lowered equally in both groups with statistic significance. There was 1 case of seroconversion of HBeAg seen in both group. Livcol showed no adverse effects in this trial

2.Some remarks on the features and rick factors of sensorineural deafness in children
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(14):10-15
192 children with sensorineural deafness were included in this study. The most of children were diagnosed late with ages over 24 months (92%). Only 18% of children were discovered early and instantly examined in otorhinolarygologic facilities, while 72% of children were treated when they were at school ages. Among 99% of children with severe deafness, 68% had deafness due to flare-up of the fire of the liver and gall bladder and 32% of cases with deafness due to insufficiency of the Yin or the liver and kidney. Congenital deafness only accounted for 8% of cases, while the most of cases with deafness were resulted from preventable causes, out of them 28% of cases with deafness related to pregnancy and childbirth and 20% of cases with deafness related to the administration of aminosids

3.The cerebral protective effect of a medicinal formulation in mice with ischemic/reperfusion induced brain injuries
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(14):16-21
An animal model to initiate anl oxidative stress in brain has been successfully applied in vitro condition. Temporary brain ischemia is conducted by two carotid arterie occlusion for 20 min. Then a reperfusion is followed for 20 min. aiming to produce oxidative damage. MDA measurements are used to assess the levels of brain damage and protective effects of studied extracts. One formulation for "activating the blood and clearing the obstruction" has been tested for the protective activity against the ischemia/repelfusion-induced injuries to brain. The extract was given to mice in doses of 200, 300 and 500mg/kg for 10 continuous days prior to the induction of brain ischemia. This application showed a remarkable protective effects by limiting the elevated MDA levels in brain homogenates, resulted from ischemia/reperfusion (P<0.001). Corresponding to the increased oxidative stress in ischemia/reperfusion, SOD activity (an antioxidant enzyme) was found to be reduced in this model, while the studied extract almostly reversed the decrease of SOD activity when it was given to mice in the dose of 500 mg/kg body weight

4.Study on the toxicity of the instant tea "QCT" in treatment of urticaria
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(14):22-27
This study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety or the formula "QCT' in treatment of urticaria. The results showed that "QCT" has no acute and sub-acute toxicity. LD50 with a high dose (62.5 folds higher than that used for people) was not specified. Oral administration of "QCT' at a high dose (25 folds higher than that used for people) for 8 weeks caused no side-effects in organs and viscera

5.Clinical application with Eight Extra Channels
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(14):31-35
A theoretical study on eight extra channels includes: the Du channel, the Ren channel, the Chong channel, the Dai channel, the Yinwei channel, the Yangwei channel, the Yinqiao channel and Yangqiao channel. They doesn’t look like 12 main channels depend on viscera and there is no relation of internal-external. They tied closely with the extra-fu organs (the brain and uterus). A clinical application often use single point therapy, the application of stimulation at one point of the superficial of the body, the correlative leg-hand therapy to feel the point, the internal-external combining therapy, lower point for upper disease, upper point for lower disease, feeling right-left point, yin-yang co-point. Their application can be used in treatment for several conditions such as lose consciousness due to high fever, stroke, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmia, non-palpable pulse, hypertension and nervous depression

9.Study of the effectiveness in treating chronic hepatitis B of Atcanninh in hospital 103
Journal Reasearch of Vietnam Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;15():18-23
Study on 60 patients with chronic hepatitis at Infectious diseases department, hospital 103 from February to July 2003. Patients were divided into 2 groups: group 1 included 30 patients who were treated by Atcanninh pack 20g, 3 packs/day; group 2 included 30 patients who were treated by glucose, bile tonic drug, Vitamin B, C. Results: Atcanninh could reduce rapidly some clinical symptoms as fatigue, lose appetite, jaundice, yellow urine. It reduced quickly the blood level of SGOT, SGPT and Bilirubin after 2 to 3 weeks of treatment. Comparing to control group, Atcanninh reduced significantly HBsAg, HBV-DNA concentrations and rate of seroconversion also higher (14.3% compares to 0% with p<0.05) after 3 months
