Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of oral and maxillofacial space infection between the diabetic and non-diabetic patients and to explore the common pathogenic bacteria and antibiotic sensitivity of diabetic patients, to guide the clinical medication. Methods : A retrospective study was conducted on 61 patients who received treatment in Qingdao municipal hospital affiliated to Qingdao university, between December 2014 and December 2016 with Oral and maxillofacial space infection. The 61 patients were divided into diabetic group and non-diabetic group. The research contented the patients'age, sex, source of infection, pathogenic bacteria, antibacterial drugs sensitivity, fasting blood glucose levels, white blood cell total and neutrophils percentage, and days of hospitalization. T test and chi-square test in SASS.19.0 software was used. Results : In the 2 groups of patients, the most common etiological factor was odontogenic infection; the most easiest affected space was submandibular space. The most common pathogenic bacteria were streptococcus. Vancomycin was the most sensitive drug, then levofloxacin and cefotaxime. In addition, the diabetes patients'age, fasting blood glucose levels and hospitalization days were significantly higher than non-diabetic patients'. Conclusion For the diabetic patients with maxillofacial space infection, levofloxacin and cefotaxime was first used for the conservative treatments when the results of the bacterial culture and drug susceptibility test are not obtained. Meanwhile, according to the oral and maxillofacial anatomy, combination of anti-anaerobic agents such as Tinidazole is also suggested. But the final situation of medication is based on the result of the drug susceptibility test.

Objective To investigate the target genes in RYBP-mediated leukemia cell apoptosis by high-flux sequencing. Methods The HL-60 cell line with knockdown of RYBP was set up. MRNA and microRNA sequencing was conducted by the next-generation sequencing technology. Result MRNAs and miRNAs were dys-regulated in HL-60 cell line with knockdown of RYBP. The results of KEGG analysis indicated that the down-regu-lated genes were associated with cancer transcription regulation and amino acid metabolism. SPI1 and miR-214-3p were shown downregulated after knockdown of RYBP. Conclusion The target genes in RYBP-mediated leukemia cell apoptosis include BBC3,BAI1,SESN2 ,CCNG2,JAK3,STAT4,SPI1,BCL6,CD11b and hsa-miR-214-3p.

BACKGROUND: Long-term radioactive ray accumulation leads to surrounding tissues fibrosis accompanied by limitation of mouth-opening, which seriously affects life quality of tumor patients. OBJECTIVE: To observe pathological change of soft tissues in rats with radiation masseter injury and the level of transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) mRNA expression in vivo.METHODS: A total of 30 Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group (n=10) and radiated group (n=20). Radiated group were radiated with linear accelerator at a dose of 40 Gy. The pathological changes of vessels were observed under light microscope and electron microscope and expression of TGF-β1 was detected by RT-PCR. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: The microvessel density of radiated group was obviously decreased than that of the control group (P < 0.01), but the mRNA expression of was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.01). It suggests that radiated injury can induce fibrosis to repair the radiated injury.

[Objective] To screen and identify the new Y-STR loci from the Y chromosome and examine the polymorphism of these Y-STR loci. [Method] To seek and locate the position of 5 Y-STR loci, including DYS709, DYS720, DYS721, DYS722, and DYS723, and perform sequencing of these 5 Y-STR loci. Then to investigate the polymorphism in unrelated Chinese Han males. [Results] Five Y-STR loci were identified from Y chromosome sequence. By scrutinizing the physical position on Y chromosome of previously reported Y-STRs, we found that three loci were novel and two loci overlapped with two loci published only online. All loci could be male-specifically amplified with a product size ranging from 185 bp to 278 bp. After 108 males of the Chinese Han Population (Guangzhou) were examined, we found 5 DYS709, 11 DYS720 alleles, 4 DYS721 alleles, 6 DYS722 alleles, and 6 DYS723 alleles. A total of 95 haplotypes were identified, 84 of which were unique, and with a haplotype diversity of 0.997 2±0.001 2(HD±SE). [Conclusion] This set of Y-STRs can be used as Y chromosome genetic makers in related fields.

Objective To investigate the spatiotemporal expression patterns of transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) receptors type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ and their relationships with development of outflow tract(OFT) in mouse embryonic heart. Methods Serial sections of mouse embryos from embryonic day 9 (E9d) to embryonic day 14 (E14d) were stained using PAP immunohistochemical methods. Results Expressions of TGF-β receptors type Ⅰ (TGF-βRⅠ) and type II(TGF-βRⅡ) in the myocardial wall of OFT started at E10d, reached the reflection with splanchnic epithelium on the dorsal wall of the pericardial cavity at E11d. At E12d, expression intensity of TGF-βRⅠ and TGF-βRⅡ in myocardium increased to its highest level, and TGF-βRⅡ positive mesenchymal cells in OFT ridges could be detected. After E13d the staining intensity of TGF-βRⅠ and TGF-βRⅡ decreased rapidly,and at E14d,their expressions had fallen at the lowest.Conclusion The expressions of TGF-βRⅠ and TGF-βRⅡ in OFT are confined to the period of E10d to E14d, they may play important roles in regulating the myocardial cell proliferation, remodeling and septation of OFT, and promoting the differentiation from mesenchymal cells in the secondary heart field into smooth muscle cells in the distal end of OFT.

[Objective] To investigate the genetic polymorphism of nine short tandem repeat (STR) loci in Han population of Southern China.[Methods] The 9 STR loci (D11S2368,D12S391,D13S325,D18S1364,D22-GATA198B05,D6S1043,D2S1772,D7S3048,D8S1132) were amplified with STR＿Typer＿10＿v1 kit for 1619 unrelated individuals of Han population in Southern China.The PCR products were analyzed with 3100 genetic analyzer and GeneMapper ID 3.1v software.The forensic efficiency parameters were calculated by PowerState V12.xls and the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was tested with Arlequin 3.11v software.[Results] The genetic polymorphism of 9 STR loci in Han population of Southern China was quite high.The heterozygosities (H) ranged from 0.818 to 0.879.The match probabilities (MP) ranged from 0.031 to 0.063.The powers of discrimination (PD) ranged from 0.937 to 0.970,the probabilities of exclusion (PE) ranged from 0.632 to 0.753,the polymorphism information contents (PIC) ranged from 0.80 to 0.88 and the typical paternity indices (TPI) ranged from 2.74-4.13,respectively.These data were in accord with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (P ＞ 0.05).[Conclusion] Nine STR loci are highly polymorphic in Chinese Han population.They are new useful tools for paternity testing,individual identification,and for the research of human genetics and anthropology.

Objective To develop a database management system specially applied for medical equipment maintenance administration, Methods Under PowerBuiider/SQL Server development environment, the C/S mode system structure was confirmed and the system function modules were designed. Results The application of C/S mode structure was coincident with the division-cooperation work flow in large and medium hospitals, and the design of function modules met the demand of information collection and utilization of medical equipment maintenance.Conclusion The database management system can preserve the information of medical equipment maintenance effectively and facilitate its usage. Moreover, many statistical indexes about the maintenance administration are available in this system.

Objective To develop medical equipment management information system for medical engineering department. Methods Under PowerBuilder9.0/SQL and Server2000 development environment, the C/S mode system structure was adopted, and the system function modules, such as data input, browsing, querying, statistical analyzing, report generating, were designed. Results Data exchange between client and server was realized. Meanwhile, the designed function modules achieved normal operation. Conclusion The system structure and functions meet the requirements of working practice in medical engineering department.

OBJECTIVETo explore the molecular genetic relationship between chromosome 1 and susceptibility genes for familial schizophrenia in Chinese population.

METHODSA genome scanning was conducted in 32 multiplex pedigrees from Chinese population by using 29 microsatellite markers on chromosome 1.

RESULTSMultipoint parametric analysis detected a maximum heterogenicity Lod of 1.70 at 262.52 cM under a recessive model; multipoint non-parametric analysis detected a maximum non-parameter linkage (NPL) of 1.71 (P=0.046) at 262.52 cM, then 1.37 (P=0.086) at 149.70 cM, corresponding to marker D1S206 and D1S425 respectively.

CONCLUSIONThese results give further supports to the presence of susceptibility genes on chromosome 1q for familial schizophrenia.
