Objective:To observe the effects of warming triple needling plus Chinese medication on inflammatory responses and daily functioning ability in patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA)due to wind-cold-dampness Bi-impediment. Methods:A total of 101 patients with KOA due to wind-cold-dampness Bi-impediment were divided into an acupuncture-medication group and a Chinese medication group using the random number table method.Fifty cases in the Chinese medication group took oral Fang Feng Xi Bi Tang for treatment,and 51 cases in the acupuncture-medication group received additional warming triple needling therapy.The symptom score of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),inflammatory factor levels,and motor function of the knee joint were compared before and after treatment.The clinical efficacy was also compared between the two groups after treatment. Results:Three cases in the acupuncture-medication group and 2 cases in the Chinese medication group dropped out during the study,and the two groups each had 48 cases being included in statistical analysis ultimately.The total effective rate was 95.8%in the acupuncture-medication group,higher than 79.2%in the Chinese medication group,and the between-group difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM symptom score dropped in both groups(P<0.05)and was lower in the acupuncture-medication group than in the Chinese medication group(P<0.05).The levels of interleukin(IL)-6,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,and IL-1β dropped after the intervention in both groups(P<0.05)and were lower in the acupuncture-medication group than in the Chinese medication group(P<0.05).The scores of knee pain intensity,knee joint stiffness,and diurnal functioning decreased after treatment in the two groups(P<0.05)and were lower in the acupuncture-medication group than in the Chinese medication group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Warming triple needling plus Fang Feng Xi Bi Tang can reduce inflammatory responses,improve daily functioning ability,and enhance the quality of life in patients with KOA due to wind-cold-dampness Bi-impediment.

The incidence of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fracture (OTLVF) in the elderly is gradually increasing. The kyphotic deformity caused by various factors has become an important characteristic of OTLVF and has received increasing attention. Its clinical manifestations include pain, delayed nerve damage, sagittal imbalance, etc. Currently, the definition and diagnosis of OTLVF with kyphotic deformity in the elderly are still unclear. Although there are many treatment options, they are controversial. Existing guidelines or consensuses pay little attention to this type of fracture with kyphotic deformity. To this end, the Lumbar Education Working Group of the Spine Branch of the Chinese Medicine Education Association and Editorial Committee of Chinese Journal of Trauma organized the experts in the relevant fields to jointly develop Clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral fractures with kyphotic deformity in the elderly ( version 2024), based on evidence-based medical advancements and the principles of scientificity, practicality, and advanced nature, which provided 18 recommendations to standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Objective To explore a method to generate regulatory dendritic cells (DCregs) from murine bone marrow induced by 5-Aminolevulinic acid combined with ferrous iron (ALA/SFC).Methods Bone marrow cells were obtained from male C57BL/6 mice.To generate conventional DCs (BM-DCcons),the ceils were cultured in RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 10％ FCS,10 ng/mL GM-CSF,10 ng/mL IL-4 for 7 days.The cells were collected for the analysis.To generate DCregs by ALA/SFC,the cells were cultured in RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 10％ FCS,20 ng/mL GM-CSF,5-ALA 1 mmol/L + SFC 0.5 mmol/L for 7 days.The morphology of ALA-DCregs was observed by microscope and eytospin with May-Grunwal&Giemsa stain.The surface markers of ALA-DCregs were observed by FACS.The function of ALA-DCregs was detected by in vitro mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) and in vivo lymphocyte proliferation assay.Results The generated ALA-DCregs displayed an irregular shape with areas of protrusion and demonstrated higher CD11b/CD11c and higher MHC-II but lower CD40,CD80,CD86 expression levels than DCcons.They also had immune regulation effects in both in vitro and in vivo lymphocyte proliferation assay.Conclusion This study illustrated a feasible approach for generating functional DCregs from murine bone marrow induced by ALA/SFC.These cells can be useful for research and application of DC immunotherapy in the future.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of neonatal pertussis.Method From January 2011 to December 2015,clinical data of newborns with pertussis treated in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed,including the general information,clinical manifestations,laboratory examinations,treatment and prognosis.Result A total of 68 newborns with pertussis were found during the study period,including 1 case in 2011,5 cases in 2012,1 case in 2013,18 cases in 2014 and 43 cases in 2015.The time needed for diagnosis was 7 to 35 days after onset of symptoms,and 80.9％ (55/68) in 14 days.The predominant manifestation was paroxysmal cough (68 cases,100％).Other common symptoms included flushing in 45 cases (66.2％) and cyanosis with coughing in 40 cases (58.8％).The uncommon symptoms included whooping cough (20 cases,29.4％),wheezing (10 cases,14.7％),fever (3 cases,4.4％) and apnea with decreased heart rate during cough (2 cases,2.9％).12 patients (17.6％) had elevated peripheral white blood cells or lymphocytes.The clinical manifestations didn't disappear despite erythromycin therapy,and the whooping cough continued for 12 to 42 days during the course of disease.22 cases (32.4％) had complications,including pneumonia in 12 cases,myocardial damage in 10 cases,heart failure in 2 cases,respiratory failure in 1 case,atrial tachycardia in 1 case and lung consolidation in 1 case.Conclusion Neonatal pertussis is not uncommon and has a tendency to increase year by year,and it's challenging for early diagnosis.The patients who have a whooping cough without fever should be considered of pertussis until otherwise ruled out.Leukocyte and lymphocyte count are of little value in the diagnosis of this disease.

Objective To explore the probable mechanism of tinnitus and the accompanied symptoms us-ing RS-FMRI. Methods We recruited 10 adults with chronic tinnitus and 10 health adults for fMRI in the resting state. Then we compared the differences of regional homogeneity(REHO)maps and functional connectivity to the whole-brain maps with the auditory cortex as a region of interest between the two groups. Results The REHO maps of tinnitus group showed significant differences in the automated anatomical labeling brain map including the middle frontal_gyrus (right),superior frontal_gyrus (left),entorhinal cortex_(right),middle occipital_gyrus (right),middle occipital gyrus(bilateral),lingual gyrus(left)and cuneate lobe(left). The functional connectivity maps of tinnitus group showed significant differences in lingal_gyrus(left)of AAL brain regions. The p threshold value was<0.001 in all results. Conclusion Tinnitus may cause abnormal neural activity in several non-auditory brain regions,which may be the neurophysiological mechanism of tinnitus accompanied symptoms.

PURPOSE: Acute renal graft rejection can only be definitively diagnosed by renal biopsy. However, biopsies carry a risk of renal transplant injury and loss. Micro-CT is widely used in preclinical studies of small animals. Here, we propose micro-CT could noninvasively monitor and evaluate renal location and function in a mouse kidney transplant model. METHODS: Orthotopic kidney transplantation was performed in a BALB/c -to- C57BL/6j or C57BL/6j-to- C57BL/6j mouse model. After optimizing imaging techniques, five mice were imaged with micro-CT and the findings were verified histologically. RESULTS: Micro-CT can monitor and evaluate renal location and function after orthotopic kidney transplantation. There were no mice deaths while renal transplants were failure. CONCLUSION: We propose that graft micro-CT imaging is a new option that is noninvasive and specific, and can aid in early detection and follow-up of acute renal rejection. This method is potentially useful to improve posttransplant rejection monitoring.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation combined with immunotherapy in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma .Methods A total of 124 patients with liver cancer were randomly divided into the two groups .60 cases in the control group were given immunity treatment alone ,while 64 cases in the observation group were treated by percutaneous radiofrequency ablation combined with immune therapy . The middle and long term curative effect of two groups was observed .Results After treatment,the tumor diameter, serum alpha fetoprotein (AFP) and carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA) levels in the two groups were significantly decreased(t=4.867,P=0.005;t=5.175,P=0.004;t=3.155,P=0.025;t=4.845,P=0.005;t=4.031,P=0.010;t=2.668,P=0.044),but the declining degree of the observation group was better than the control group (t=4.119,P=0.009;t=3.621,P=0.015;t=3.492,P=0.017).The total effective rates and disease control rates of the observation group were 53.1%,78.1%,which were significantly higher than 28.3%,46.7%in the control group (χ2 =11.290,P=0.010;χ2 =21.290,P=0.000).The 1-year,3-year,5-year survival rates of the observation group were 60.9%,31.3%,12.5%,those of the control group were 21.7%,5.0%,0.0%,the middle and long term sur-vival rates of the observation group were significantly higher than the control group (χ2 =21.935,P=0.000;χ2 =56.452,P=0.000;χ2 =40.516,P=0.000).No statistically significant differences in the CD 4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+, IL-12 and other indicators between the two groups before treatment ,but these indicators in the observation group were significantly improved after treatment (t =4.515,P =0.006;t =10.014,P =0.000;t =5.217,P =0.003). Conclusion Combination of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation and immunotherapy in the treatment of hepatocell-lular carcinoma has exact effect and with advantages of less adverse reaction , good safety , which can significantly improve the quality of life and survival rate of patients ,it has good clinical application value .

The case of the nodular fasciitis was with a short history and rapid growth speed. The lesion was nodular, not encapsulated. Histologically, the fibroblasts proliferated actively, with some mitoses. The reality of the nodular fasciitis is the proliferation of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts. This disease is a benign lesion. It is very important to make a different diagnosis between this lesion and sarcomas. Ultrasonography and MRI are important assistants in diagnosis of nodular fasciitis. This disease could be effectively treated by local excision with a low recurrence rate and a satisfactory prognosis.

To observe the effects of early intervention with effective components from a Chinese herbal formula (Huannao Yicong formula, HNYCF) on behavior and related indicators of cholinergic system in β-amyloid precursor protein (APP) transgenic mice.

Background: Isolated systolic hypertension (ISH) is a common disease in elderly people, threatening their health. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment or integrative treatment had advantages in improving quality of life and protecting target organs, but need to be proved by large evidence-based researches. Objective: To observe the effects of TCM treatment (Jiangya Capsule) or integrative treatment (combination of Jiangya Capsule and nimodipine) on blood pressure and vasoactive agents, and their safety in elderly ISH patients. Design, setting, participants and interventions: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind controlled trial was adopted. A total of 270 elderly ISH patients recruited from Xiyuan Hospital, and TCM Hospital and Community Health Service Centers of Yanqing County of Beijing were randomly divided into 3 groups: TCM group (Jiangya Capsule plus nimodipine simulation, 90 cases), integrative group (Jiangya Capsule plus nimodipine, 90 cases) and Western medicine (WM) group (nimodipine plus Jiangya Capsule simulation, 90 cases). They were all treated for 4 weeks. Main outcome measures: Before and after 4-week treatment, office blood pressure, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure, serum nitric oxide (NO), and plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1), thromboxane B2 (TXB2) and 6-keto-prostaglandin 1alpha (6-keto-PGF1alpha) were detected, and safety evaluation was conducted. Results: After 4-week treatment, 5 patients in TCM group were lost to follow-up and another 5 patients were excluded, and 80 patients finished the trial; 7 patients in integrative group were lost to follow-up and another 7 patients were excluded, and 76 patients finished the trial; 2 patients in WM group were lost to follow-up and another 3 patients were excluded, and 85 patients finished the trial. After treatment, systolic blood pressure (SBP) decreased in each group (P<0.05), and integrative treatment was superior to TCM or WM treatment in decreasing SBP (P<0.05). Twenty-four hour average SBP and day average SBP decreased significantly in each group, and night average SBP decreased in integrative group, and integrative treatment was superior to TCM or WM treatment in decreasing day average SBP. Serum NO and plasma 6-keto-PGF1alpha levels were elevated and plasma ET-1 and TXB(2) levels were reduced after treatment, and integrative treatment was superior to TCM or WM treatment in reducing plasma TXB(2) level. Conclusion: TCM treatment or integrative treatment has affirmative effects and safety in treating elderly ISH patients, and integrative treatment has superiority in improving some indexes, and deserves further study.
