Objective:
To assess the nutritional status of primary and secondary school students in Beijing City and to analyze the related factors, so as to provide a scientific basis for improving the nutritional status of primary and secondary school students in a targeted manner.
Methods:
Based on the 2021 Beijing Student Common Diseases and Health Influencing Factors Surveillance Project, a stratified random cluster sampling method was used to conduct a physical examination and questionnaire survey on 25 487 primary and secondary school students from September to November 2021. The Chi square test was used for comparison of nutritional status detection rates, and disordered multi classification Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the factors associated with students nutritional status.
Results:
The detection rates of malnutrition, overweight and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Beijing City were 4.7%, 18.0% and 23.8% respectively. The detection rates of malnutrition, overweight and obesity were higher among male students (5.1%, 20.4%, 29.7%) than female students (4.2%, 15.5%, 17.4%) ( χ 2= 12.23, 101.71, 526.99, P <0.01). The detection rate of obesity was higher in the suburbs than urban areas(26.6%, 19.8%), and the detection rate of malnutrition was lower in the suburbs than urban areas (4.2%,5.5%)( χ 2=157.25, 23.61, P <0.01). The results of disordered multi classification Logistic regression showed that the related factors for malnutrition, overweight and obesity were gender, residence, moderate to vigorous exercise ≥60 min per day and lack of sleep( OR =1.70, 1.88,2.48; 1.14, 0.87, 0.67; 0.85, 0.92, 0.81 ; 0.83, 1.08, 1.07); frequency of fried food intake daily was a related factor for overweight ( OR =0.70); whether eating breakfast daily or not was a related factor for overweight and obesity ( OR =0.91, 0.84); academic level (middle and high school) was a related factor for malnutrition and obesity ( OR =1.38, 1.37; 0.77, 1.40)( P <0.05).
Conclusions
The problem of overweight and obesity among primary and secondary school students in Beijing City continues to be serious, especially among boys and suburban areas. It is recommended that society, schools, families and individuals should work together to improve the nutritional status of primary and secondary school students by adopting a graded and classified approach.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the improvement effect and mechanism of triptolide (TP) on sciatica rats. METHODS Sciatica rat model was prepared and then randomly divided into model group (normal saline), indomethacin group (positive control, 7.5 mg/kg), TP low-dose and high-dose groups (TP-L group and TP-H group, 50, 100 μg/kg TP), and high-dose TP+ stimulator of interferon gene (STING) activator group (TP-H+DMXAA group, 100 μg/kg TP+25 mg/kg DMXAA), with 12 rats in each group. Another 12 unligated rats were selected as sham operation group (normal saline). After 14 days of intraperitoneal administration, the paw mechanical withdrawal threshold (PWT) and paw withdrawal thermal latency (PWL) were detected; the pathological changes, morphology of sciatic nerve and the number of microglia in sciatic nerve were observed. The levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), mRNA and protein expression levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate- adenosine monophosphate synthase (cGAS) and STING in sciatic nerve were detected. RESULTS Compared with sham operation group, PWT and PWL of rats in model group were obviously reduced and shortened, the number of Nissl bodies was obviously decreased, while the number of microglia, sciatic neuropathology score, the levels of IL-1β and TNF-α, mRNA and protein expressions of cGAS and STING were obviously increased (P<0.05), and sciatic nerve injury was serious. Compared with model group, the changes of various indexes in indomethacin group, TP-L group and TP-H group were opposite to the above (P<0.05), and sciatic nerve injury was reduced. STING activator DMXAA weakened the inhibitory effect of TP on the activity of microglia and inflammatory response in sciatica rats (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS TP may reduce the activity of microglia and inflammatory response by down-regulating the cGAS/STING signaling pathway, thus alleviating sciatica in rats.

Diabetes retinopathy (DR) is an important cause that threatens the visual health of adults. There are some treatment methods of western medicine with definite efficacy, such as anti-vascular endothelial growth factor and laser photocoagulation, but they have many adverse reactions such as intraocular infection and visual field damage. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapies are safe and effective, which can complement western medicine. Phosphatidylinositol3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (Akt) signaling pathway regulates a range of processes including glucose metabolism, cell proliferation, and cell transcription and apoptosis, which is closely related to the occurrence and development of DR. Numerous studies have shown that TCM monomers can participate in maintaining the integrity of blood-retinal barrier and inhibiting retinal neovascularization and neurodegeneration in many aspects such as inhibiting oxidative stress and alleviating inflammatory reaction by regulating the PI3K/Akt pathway, so as to delay the progress of DR. Therefore, this study reviewed PI3K/Akt pathway and its relationship with DR, as well as the TCM monomers in interfering with DR based on PI3K/Akt pathway to provide some ideas for the prevention and treatment of DR in integrated TCM and western medicine.

Objective:
To explore the association between reading and writing posture with the occurrence of myopia in Chinese children and adolescents, so as to provide a reference for reducing its prevalence among primary and secondary school students.
Methods:
Using data from the 2020 survey on the current status of hyperopia reserve in primary and secondary school students from six provinces/cities, namely Beijing, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Liaoning, and Henan selected by multi stage stratified cluster probability sampling method during November 2020 to June 2022. A total 16 782 students who completed the optometry examination of cycloplegia according to the Children and Adolescents Myopia Screening Standard and questionnaire survey were included for analyzing analyze the association between reading and writing posture with myopia.
Results:
The overall detection rate of myopia among primary and secondary school students was 45.7%, of which 35.0% were primary school students, 84.1% junior high school students, and 90.4% senior high school students. Poor reading and writing posture was found in 73.6% of primary and secondary school students. Adjusting for confounding factors such as gender, school period, region, outdoor time every day, and whether parents were myopic, the results of the multilevel Logistic regression showed that the following factors were positively correlated with myopia:poor reading and writing posture ( OR=1.17, 95%CI =1.07-1.28), never/occasionally reading and writing with a reading distance which was more than one foot away between the eyes and book ( OR=1.28, 95%CI=1.08-1.53, OR=1.23, 95%CI = 1.08- 1.40), teachers occasionally reminding the child of their reading and writing posture ( OR=1.13, 95%CI =1.01-1.25), and often/always reading and writing while lying down or with the face on the arm ( OR=1.15, 95%CI=1.01-1.32, OR=1.46, 95% CI = 1.17-1.82), always reading and writing with the head in the hand ( OR=1.56, 95%CI =1.20-2.01). Further, a negative correlation was detected between myopia and parents occasionally reminding their children of their reading and writing posture ( OR= 0.85 , 95%CI =0.76-0.96) ( P <0.05).
Conclusion
Poor reading and writing posture is a risk factor for the development of myopia in primary and secondary school students, and interventions for reading and writing posture need to be strengthened to reduce the occurrence of myopia among primary and secondary school students.

Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of three-dimensional amide proton transfer-weighted imaging (APTWI) and its combination with diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) for differentiating breast benign from malignant lesions. Methods:This was a prospective study. From July to December 2020, 226 patients with breast lesions confirmed by surgery or puncture pathology in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were collected. All patients underwent MR T 1-weighted imaging, T 2-weighted imaging, DWI, APTWI, and dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, and the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value and the magnetization transfer ratio asymmetry at an offset of 3.5 ppm [MTRasym(3.5 ppm)] were obtained from DWI and APTWI respectively. Mann-Whitney U test was used for the comparison of DWI and APTWI parameters between breast benign and malignant lesions. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the differences of diagnostic efficacy between DWI, APTWI, and their combination. Results:There were 226 patients with 226 breast lesions, including 124 malignant and 102 benign lesions. The ADC values of patients with malignant breast lesions [1.03 (0.93, 1.13)×10 -3 mm 2/s] and MTRasym (3.5 ppm) [1.95% (1.10%, 2.88%)] were lower than those of benign breast lesions [1.38 (1.11, 1.55)×10 -3 mm 2/s, 3.30% (2.20%, 4.20%), respectively], and the differences were statistically significant ( Z=-8.19, -6.51, P<0.05). The area under the ROC curves (AUC) of DWI, APTWI, and its combination in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions were 0.817, 0.752, and 0.868, respectively. The AUC of the combination of DWI and APTWI was higher than that of DWI and APTWI ( Z=4.00, 2.93, P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in the AUC between DWI and APTWI diagnoses ( Z=1.58, P>0.05). Taking 1.25×10 -3 mm 2/s as the optimal cut-off value for ADC values, the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions were 94.4% (117/124), 62.7% (64/102), and 80.1% (181/226), respectively; Taking 2.70% as the optimal cut-off value for MTRasym (3.5 ppm), the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions were 73.4% (91/124), 64.7% (66/102), and 69.5% (157/226), respectively, and the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of DWI combined with APTWI in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions were 82.3% (102/124), 79.4% (81/102), and 81.0% (183/226), respectively. Conclusion:APTWI can be used for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast lesions, and the combination of APTWI and DWI can obtain the better diagnostic performance than the single method.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2021;37(2):541-560
Nano-metallic materials are playing an important role in the application of medicine, catalysis, antibacterial and anti-toxin due to their obvious advantages, including nanocrystalline strengthening effect, high photo-absorptivity, high surface energy and single magnetic region performance. In recent years, with the increasing consumption of global petrochemical resources and the aggravation of environmental pollution, nanomaterials based on bio-based molecules have aroused great concern. Bio-based molecules refer to small molecules and macromolecules directly or indirectly derived from biomass. They usually have good biocompatibility, low toxicity, degradability, wide source and low price. Besides, most bio-based molecules have unique physical, chemical properties and physiological activity, such as optical activity, acid/alkali amphoteric property, hydrophilic property and easy coordination with metal ions. Thus, the corresponding nano-materials based on bio-based molecules also have unique functions, such as anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-oxidation, antiviral fall blood sugar and blood fat etc. In this paper, we give a comprehensive overview of the preparation and application of nano-metallic materials based on bio-based molecules in recent years.
