Breast cancer， as one of the major cancers threatening women's health globally， is characterized by high aggressiveness， high malignancy， and poor prognosis. In 2022， according to the World Health Organization， breast cancer ranked second in the incidence of female cancers globally， accounting for 11.6% of all new cancer cases. Western medical doctors mainly use surgery， chemotherapy， radiotherapy， endocrine therapy， and molecular targeted therapy to treat breast cancer， which can effectively improve the recurrence rate and death rate of breast cancer patients and prolong the survival period of patients. However， its treatment process is often accompanied by a series of side effects， which bring challenges to patients' quality of life. However， traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） has demonstrated significant therapeutic effects in inhibiting the proliferation and metastasis of breast cancer cells， reducing toxic side effects produced by chemotherapy， and improving patients' survival rate and quality of life. It is therefore particularly necessary to investigate the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of TCM in breast cancer treatment. The authors combed the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of the etiology and pathogenesis of breast cancer， identification and treatment of breast cancer， TCM compound， TCM single medicine， TCM monomer， and external treatment of TCM to prevent and control breast cancer and found that TCM has a therapeutic effect on breast cancer. It can play a role in increasing the effectiveness， reducing the toxicity， and alleviating the adverse reactions. It can inhibit breast cancer cell proliferation， cell cycle， migration， invasion， immune escape， epithelial-mesenchymal transition （EMT）， aerobic glycolysis， mitochondrial biosynthesis， aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis， reduce drug resistance， promote apoptosis， ferroptosis， cell autophagy， and regulate the tumor immune microenvironment by regulating signaling pathways. This paper aims to provide new ideas and methods for experimental research and clinical treatment of breast cancer.

Objective:To investigate the prognostic effect of polymorphnuclear neutrophil (PMN) in cervical cancer. Methods:Patients (n=92) who underwent curative surgery for the treatment of stage Ib and IIa cervical cancer according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) were assessed to determine their tumor-infiltrating CD66b-positive neutrophils through immuno-histochemistry. Assessment results were then analyzed to identify their correlation with recurrence-free survival (RFS) as an end point. Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival curve analysis, and a Cox proportional hazard model was utilized for univariate and multi-variate analyses. Results:The RFS of the group with a density of CD66b-positive neutrophils above the median in cervical cancer tis-sues was significantly shorter than that of the group with a density of CD66b-positive neutrophils below the median (P=0.001). Univari-ate and multivariate analyses revealed adenocarcinoma (HR=3.020;95%CI=1.340-6.805;P=0.008), lymph node metastasis (HR=2.450;95%CI=1.065-5.637;P=0.035), and high neutrophil density (HR=2.866;95%CI=1.274-46.447;P=0.011) as independent prognostic fac-tors of short RFS. Conclusion:The increasing number of tumor-infiltrating neutrophils in cervical cancer tissues was correlated with short RFS of patients with cervical cancer.

Objective To investigate antenatal sonographic findings of the fetal isolated callosal hypoplasia and partial agenesis. Methods A retrospective study was performed on the cases of hypoplasia and partial agenesis of the corpus callosum suspected at antenatal sonographic basic examination from 2006 to 2014, all the cases were confirmed by pathology or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI). For the surviving infants, clinical follow-up had been performed to assess the developmental outcome. Results Thirteen fetuses suspected with callosal underdevelopment were identified at a median gestational age of 31 (range, 18~39) weeks. Ten cases were confirmed by autopsy and MRI, including 9 with partial agenesis and 1 with hypoplasia. Among the 10 fetuses confirmed with isolated partial agenesis or with hypoplasia, incidence of the absent cavum septum pellucidum was 20%, the ‘Tear-drop’ lateral ventricles was 40%, the upward displacement of the third ventricle was 80%. Pregnancy was terminated electively in 8 of the cases with partial agenesis or with hypoplasia. Among the 2 surviving infants, apparent normal development was observed in only one case, but we lost the follow-up of this case at two-year-old. Six fetuses received the chromosome identification, almost all of them were normal. Conclusion The basic ultrasonic examination is feasible for the antenatal diagnosis of isolated callosal underdevelopment the. The indirect classical signs of callosal partial agenesis and hypoplasia are different with those of complete agenesis of the corpus callosum. The incidences of the‘Tear-drop’ lateral ventricles and the upward displacement of the third ventricle are higher than the absence of CSP. The chromosome of isolated callosal partial agenesis or hypoplasia is normal, however, the prognosis is uncertain.

Objective To explore the clinical diagnostic and therapeutic characteristics，prognostic factors of pailents with primary clear cell carcinoma of the cervix.Methods The clinical,pathologic and follow-up data of patients with primary clear cell carcinoma of the cervix treated in our hospital from Jan 2003 to Dec 2006 were collected and analyzed retrospectively.The relative literature was reviewed.ResultsFive patients with primary clear cell carcinoma of the cervix were treated(1 case stage Ⅰ b1，2 of stage Ⅰ b2，1of stage Ⅱ a，1 of stage Ⅳa).The mean age was 40.2 years(32 to 50 years).The primary symptom was mostly irregularly vaginal bleeding(3/5)and clinical type was predominantly(4/5)endophytie growth.The positive rate of cervical cytologic examination was 2/4,the negative rate of cervical human papillomavirus(HPV)DNA examination was 4/4.Serum CA125 level was abnormal(62.5 to 592.1 kU/L)before operation and when relapse occurred,and returned to normal after operation.All of five patients underwent operation,pathologic examination showed that three patients with infihration in deep 1/2 myomctrium of cervix,and two patients with infiltration in cervix-corpus juncture.Four patients underwent radical abdominal hysterectomy with systematic pelvic lymphadenectomy.All of four patients underwent four courses of chemotherapy with fluorouracil(5-FU)and carboplatin，one patient(stage Ⅱ a)was added with intracavitary brachytherapy.None of the four patients had relapse or metastasis after a follow-up of 10 to 44 months.The patient with stage Ⅳ a underwent firstly hysterectomy and prerectum mass removal.Pelvic relapse occurred three months after operation and the patient then underwent the second operation，external beam radiotherapy and intracavitary brachytherapy and 8 courses of chemotherapy with paclitaxel(taxol) and carboplatin.There was no relapse or metastasis after a follow-up of 26 months.Conclusions Primary clear cell carcinoma of the cervix may be unrelated to HPV infection.It shows predominantly endophytic growth and tends toward deep infiltration in cervix and extending to uterine corpus.Operation combined with chemotherapy with carboplatin and 5-FU or taxol may lead to relatively perfect short-term therapeutical effect.Serum CA125 can help to monitor prognosis.Objective To study the clinical characteristics，treatment modalities.and prognosis of cervical adenosquamous carcinoma.Methods The data of 21 patients with adenosquamous cervical cancer who were admitted into Zhongnan Hospital，Wuhan University from Jan 2001 to Dec 2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Six patients received Surgical therapy only and 15 patients received combined therapy.ResultsSeven cases were with positive pelvic lymph node metastases and 3 cases were with ovarian metastases.The median survival time of the combined therapy group and surgical therapy group was 54 and 20 months，respectively.In stage Ⅰ and stage Ⅱ patients，the median survival time of the combined therapy group and surgical therapy group was 66 and 20 months,respectively.The difference was significant between the two groups(P＜0.05).ConclusionsCombined therapy should be given to patients with adenosquamous carcinoma of the cervix.Surgical therapy and chemotherapy play an important role in the management and prognosis of adenoquamous carcinoma of cervix.Preserve of ovary for patients with adenosquamous carcinoma of the cervix should only be done when the ovary is confirmed free from any malignant involvement by pathology.
