1.Construction and application of simulation model of percutaneous intramuscular septal radiofrequency ablation based on COMSOL Multiphysics

Objective To construct a simulation model for percutaneous intramuscular septal radiofrequency ablation,and to explore the effects of different excitation voltages and ablation time on ablation areas.Methods By using Mimics software the segmentation and three-dimensional surface reconstruction of the tissue in various regions of the heart were realized based on the preoperative CT data of some patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,and the reconstructed tissue was transformed into three-dimensional solid models with SolidWorks software,then the models were combined with the electrode needle mechanism established in COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software to form a simulation model for percutaneous intramuscular septal radiofrequency ablation.Electromagnetic and thermal multiphysics field boundary conditions were set with the model developed,and the tissue temperature distribution and the effects of ablation time and excitation voltage on the ablation region were simulated and analyzed.Results Simulation analysis of percutaneous intramuscular septal radiofrequency ablation could be carried out with the model developed,and different excitation voltages and ablation time proved to have significant effects on the effective ablation region.Conclusion The model constructed for percutaneous intramuscular septal radiofrequency ablation lays a foundation for the following research of the effects of multiple factors on ablation outcomes,which is of significance for parameter optimization in actual clinical treatment.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(4):45-50]

Aim To investigate the effect of Lulong Zaisheng Decoction II on chemotherapy-induced bone marrow suppression in nude mice bearing colorectal cancer. Methods Male BALB/C nude mice were inoculated with human colon cancer cell HT-29 under the armpit. The tumor bearing nude mice were randomly divided into five groups: control group, chemotherapy group, positive drug group, Lulong Zaisheng Decoction II groups with high and low doses. The mice were given drugs by gavage once a day for 10 consecutive days. 3.Clinical features of intestinal polyps and risk factors for secondary intussusception in children: an analysis of 2 669 cases.

OBJECTIVES:
To study the clinical features of intestinal polyps and the risk factors for secondary intussusception in children.
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis was performed for the medical data of 2 669 children with intestinal polyps. According to the presence or absence of secondary intussusception, they were divided into two groups: intussusception (n=346) and non-intussusception (n=2 323). Related medical data were compared between the two groups. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify the risk factors for secondary intussusception.
RESULTS:
Among the children with intestinal polyps, 62.42% were preschool children, and the male/female ratio was 2.08∶1; 92.66% had hematochezia as disease onset, and 94.34% had left colonic polyps and rectal polyps. There were 346 cases of secondary intussusception, with an incidence rate of 12.96% (346/2 669). Large polyps (OR=1.644, P<0.001), multiple polyps (≥2) (OR=6.034, P<0.001), and lobulated polyps (OR=93.801, P<0.001) were the risk factors for secondary intussusception.
CONCLUSIONS
Intestinal polyps in children often occur in preschool age, mostly in boys, and most of the children have hematochezia as disease onset, with the predilection sites of the left colon and the rectum. Larger polyps, multiple polyps, and lobulated polyps may increase the risk of secondary intussusception, and endoscopic intervention is needed as early as possible to improve prognosis.

4. Research progress on excitotoxicity of glutamate and its modulators

Excitotoxicity mainly refers to the toxic effect of the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate.Long-term activation of glutamate receptors will cause a series of neurotoxicity, eventually leading to the loss of neuronal function and cell death.Triggering excitotoxicity may involve changes in glutamate and calcium metabolism, dysfunction of glutamate transporter, N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)and mitochondria, and production of ROS.Therefore, we here review the occurrence of these mechanisms and introduce the pathological mechanism of glutamate excitotoxicity in Alzheimer's disease(AD), Parkinson's disease(PD), depression and epilepsy.Finally, this review briefly describes the regulatory effects of broad-spectrum glutamic satellite modulators, marine compounds and Chinese herbal medicines on the glutamatergic system.
5.Naoxintong Capsule for Secondary Prevention of Ischemic Stroke: A Multicenter, Randomized, and Placebo-Controlled Trial.

OBJECTIVE:
To examine whether the combination of Naoxintong Capsule with standard care could further reduce the recurrence of ischemic stroke without increasing the risk of severe bleeding.
METHODS:
A total of 23 Chinese medical centers participated in this trial. Adult patients with a history of ischemic stroke were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio using a block design to receive either Naoxintong Capsule (1.2 g orally, twice a day) or placebo in addition to standard care. The primary endpoint was recurrence of ischemic stroke within 2 years. Secondary outcomes included myocardial infarction, death due to recurrent ischemic stroke, and all-cause mortality. The safety of drugs was monitored. Results were analyzed using the intention-to-treat principle.
RESULTS:
A total of 2,200 patients were enrolled from March 2015 to March 2016, of whom 143 and 158 in the Naoxintong and placebo groups were lost to follow-up, respectively. Compared with the placebo group, the recurrence rate of ischemic stroke within 2 years was significantly lower in the Naoxintong group [6.5% vs. 9.5%, hazard ratio (HR): 0.665, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.492-0.899, P=0.008]. The two groups showed no significant differences in the secondary outcomes and safety, including rates of severe hemorrhage, cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage (P>0.05).
CONCLUSION
The combination of Naoxintong Capsule with standard care reduced the 2-year stroke recurrence rate in patients with ischemic stroke without increasing the risk of severe hemorrhage in high-risk patients. (Trial registration No. NCT02334969).

Purpose To investigate the expression of mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 3 (MAP3K3) mRNA in ovarian carcinoma patients and to explore the correlation among its expression, clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods The expression of MAP3K3 mRNA in ovarian carcinoma and fallopian tube tissues were detected by qRT-PCR, and the correlation between MAP3K3 mRNA expression and clinicopathological features was also analyzed. Whether MAP3K3 mRNA expression could be used as an independent predictor of prognosis for patients with ovarian carcinoma was further determined. Results The expression of MAP3K3 mRNA in ovarian carcinoma was significantly higher than that in fallopian tube tissues (P<0.05). High expression of MAP3K3 mRNA was significantly correlated with FIGO stage and Challenge model of ovarian carcinoma (P<0.05). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the disease-free survival time and overall survival time of patients with high MAP3K3 mRNA expression were shorter than those with low expression (34 months vs 52.2 months, P<0.05.38.6 months vs 52.5 months, P<0.05). Univariate analysis showed that high expression of MAP3K3 mRNA was a risk factor for poor prognosis of ovarian carcinoma patients (HR=4.198, 95%C/: 1.711 ~10.302, P<0.05). Conclusion MAP3K3 mRNA is highly expressed in ovarian carcinoma tissues. Its high expression is associated with FIGO stage, Challenge model and poor prognosis of ovarian carcinoma, which may involve in the malignant transformation of ovarian carcinoma.
10.Evaluation of Double Antigen Sandwich Time-resolved Fluoroimmunoassay for Specific Total Antibodies to Treponema Pallidum

Objective To evaluation the performance of double antigen sandwich time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay(TRFIA)for specific total antibody to Treponema pallidum (TP).Methods Specific total antibody to TP was detected by a double antigen TRFIA based on recombinant multi epitope chimeric antigen.The methodological precision,low limit of detection,accuracy,linearity,reference standard coincidence rate and other analytical performance indicators were evaluated,and clinical comparison research trials were completed.The x2 test was used for the difference between two methods results,the P <0.05 which represents the difference was statistically significant.Results The intra-assay and inter-assay coefficients of var iation (CV) were both less than 10% respectively.The low limit of detection was 0.05 mIU/ml.The relative deviation of de tecting the national standard was not exceed 10%.The linear range was 1.50~ 155.00 mIU/ml and the linear correlation co efficient could be reached 0.999 9.The performance of detection national reference could meet the national accreditation requirements.The consistent rate was 100 % when the TRFIA methodology detected the standardized serum plate.The parallel test of TRFIA and treponema pallidum gelatin agglutination test (TPPA) were completed,the total coincidence rate was 99.56%,and the Kappa index was 0.990 6.Conclusion Their result showed that the TRFIA methodology is high sensitivity,accuracy,wide linear range,and highly clinical coincidence rate,which is valuable for clinical application.
