		                        			Oral sulfate tablets (OSTs) are bowel preparation agents that combine oral sulfate solution and simethicone. This study compared the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of OST compared to 2 L-polyethylene glycol plus ascorbic acid (2 L-PEG/ASC). 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This prospective, randomized, controlled, single-blinded, multicenter, noninferiority trial enrolled 211 healthy adults who underwent colonoscopy between May 2020 and September 2022 at 13 university hospitals. The bowel cleansing rate was assessed using the Boston Bowel Preparation Scale (BBPS) and Harefield Cleansing Scale (HCS), and the preparation agents were administered in split regimens. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The total BBPS score (8.2 ± 1.5 vs. 7.8 ± 1.4, p = 0.040) and the high-quality bowel cleansing rates in the right colon (73.2% vs. 50.5), transverse colon (80.6% vs. 68.0%), and left colon (81.5% vs. 67.0%) on the BBPS were significantly higher in the OST group than in the 2 L-PEG/ASC group. However, the rates of successful cleansing according to BBPS (90.7% vs. 91.2%) and HCS (96.3% vs. 94.2%) did not significantly differ between the two groups.The taste, ease, and amount of consumption of the preparation agent; and willingness to repeat colonoscopy with the same agent (89.8% vs. 78.6%, P = 0.026) were significantly better in the OST group compared to the 2 L-PEG/ASC group. Adverse events and clinically significant laboratory changes were not significantly different between the two groups. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion

		                        			 Purpose:
		                        			The treatment of male breast cancer (MBC) has been extrapolated from female breast cancer (FBC) because of its rarity despite their different clinicopathologic characteristics. We aimed to investigate the distribution of intrinsic subtypes based on immunohistochemistry, their clinical impact, and treatment pattern in clinical practice through a multicenter study in Korea. 
		                        		
		                        			Materials and Methods:
		                        			We retrospectively analyzed clinical data of 248 MBC patients from 18 institutions across the country from January 1995 to July 2016. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The median age of MBC patients was 63 years (range, 25 to 102 years). Among 148 intrinsic subtype classified patients, 61 (41.2%), 44 (29.7%), 29 (19.5%), and 14 (9.5%) were luminal A, luminal B, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2, and triple-negative breast cancer, respectively. Luminal A subtype showed trends for superior survival compared to other subtypes. Most hormone receptor-positive patients (166 patients, 82.6%) received adjuvant endocrine treatment. Five-year completion of adjuvant endocrine treatment was associated with superior disease-free survival (DFS) in patients classified with an intrinsic subtype (hazard ratio [HR], 0.15; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.04 to 0.49; p=0.002) and in all patients (HR, 0.16; 95% CI, 0.05 to 0.54; p=0.003). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Distribution of subtypes of MBC was similar to FBC and luminal type A was most common. Overall survival tended to be improved for luminal A subtype, although there was no statistical significance. Completion of adjuvant endocrine treatment was associated with prolonged DFS in intrinsic subtype classified patients. MBC patients tended to receive less treatment. 6.Hyaluronic Acid and Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections in Foot and Ankle Disorders

		                        			 Numerous nonoperative treatments have been used to reduce pain and improve the clinical outcomes of patients with foot and ankle disorders. Among these treatments, hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections have been used increasingly. This review analyzes the recent literature reporting the efficacy and indications for hyaluronic acid and PRP injections. Hyaluronic acid and PRP can be used safely as adjuncts. Hyaluronic acid injections have shown efficacy and have a promising role as an adjuvant treatment method.In addition, its indication has expanded to various foot and ankle diseases over osteoarthritis. On the other hand, the efficacy of PRP injection has not yet been clarified, and the lack of standardization of procedures for the preparation and administration of PRP makes it difficult to establish definitive treatment indications.

		                        			 Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare inherited condition marked by recurrent skin and submucosal edema. HAE is caused by a C1 inhibitor deficiency or decreased C1 inhibitor function. The initial attack may occur during childhood or pregnancy, with symptoms ranging from classic angioedema to nonspecific stomach cramps. In this review, we discuss strategies for children and pregnant women to manage HAE attacks effectively and safely in light of the recent increase in HAE diagnosis. To begin, aggressive work-up is necessary to confirm HAE–1/2 and to determine the most effective countermeasures. Secondly, in the event of an acute attack, plasma-derived C1-inhibitor is the first line of defense for children and pregnant women. Icatibant is also appropriate for use, except in pregnant women. Fresh frozen plasma (FFP) may be suggested as an alternative. Thirdly, proactive measures to prevent HAE attacks should be considered whenever a procedure is performed that may result in an exacerbation. Finally, FFP, attenuated androgen and antifibrinolytic agents are recommended for long-term prophylaxis in South Korea where the C1-inhibitor is scarce. However, when making a decision, it is necessary to consider both the efficacy and the risk of adverse effects. For proper management, written action plans and first-aid kits are required. 		                        			 Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is a rare disease, but it severely interrupts daily life activities and can sometimes be life-threatening. Therefore, early diagnosis and prompt treatment of HAE attacks are critical. Physicians should be aware of how to diagnose and manage HAE to prepare not to miss a diagnosis when treating HAE patients. Physicians must also carry out tests to confirm the diagnosis of HAEs caused by C1 inhibitor deficiency (type 1) or C1 inhibitor dysfunction (type 2) in patients with recurrent angioedema. In addition, recent studies revealed another type of HAE which is not related to C1 inhibitor (normal C1 inhibitor HAE). Once HAE is confirmed, patients and their caregivers should be given with short-term and long-term treatment plans to relieve or prevent HAE attacks. 9.Isolation and Characterization of Extracellular Vesicle from Mesenchymal Stem Cells of the Epidural Fat of the Spine

		                        			In this study, we isolated the exosomes using the tangential flow filtration (TFF) system with exosome-depleted fetal bovine serum and performed the characterization tests via western blotting, reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), and transmission electron microscopy. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			In transmission electron microscopy, the exosome had a diameter of approximately 100–200 nm and had a spherical shape, whereas in the NTA, the exosome had an average diameter of 142.8 nm with a concentration of 1.27×1010 particles/mL. The flow cytometry analysis showed the expression of CD63 and CD81. The western blotting analysis showed the positive markers. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			These findings showed that isolating the exosomes via TFF resulted in high-quality EF-MSC exosome yield. 10.The work and socioeconomic burden of emergency physicians in the COVID-19 pandemic: 2020 Korean Emergency Physician Survey

		                        			 Objective:
		                        			This study evaluated the anxiety, work, and socioeconomic burden of emergency physicians (EP) during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in South Korea.  
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			A cross-sectional observational study was conducted using data from the 2020 Korean Emergency Physician Survey that included the following domains: hospital resources of suspected COVID-19 patients, availability of personal protective equipment, levels of home and workplace anxiety, the severity of work burnout, identification of stressors, changes in personal environments, and measures to decrease stress/anxiety. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Totally, 855 eligible participants were enrolled in the study. A statistically significant deterioration was observed in response to decreased working income or an unstable employment situation (0.46±0.88 points). The median number of patients with confirmed COVID-19 was 2.72. The risk of infection during emergency department (ED) work was found to be significantly increased (P<0.01). Of the 751 respondents (91.4%) who reported patient contact during their survey phase, 516 (62.8%) reported having taken the COVID-19 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test. The major factors that affected worsening of the work burden were determined to be unsuitable inter-hospital transfer arrangements for febrile patients (3.46±1.06 before vs. 1.99±1.16 after the pandemic, P<0.01) and delayed consultation for patients with fever or respiratory symptoms in the ED (3.20±1.06 before vs. 2.66±1.10 after the pandemic, P<0.01). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			During the peak phase, the COVID-19 pandemic induced substantial workplace and socioeconomic burdens for Korean EPs.
