1.Woman Doctor Leadership on the Editorial Board of the Korean Medical Journals

		                        			 Background:
		                        			The proportion of women doctors has been rising globally and South Korea mirrors this trend. Despite this growth, women doctors’ representation in leadership roles in academic medical fields remains scarce. This study investigates the representation and trends of women doctors’ leadership in editorial boards of South Korean medical journals, and compares the gender ratio of specialists. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This non-clinical data analysis examined the editorial boards of 45 major medical academic journals published in 2015, 2020, and 2024 to investigate women leadership within journal editorial boards, compares the gender ratio of specialists, and observed changes over time. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The study included data from 1,475 members in 2015, 1,598 in 2020, and 2,531 in 2024.In 2020, 23.8% of specialists were women, but only 19.5% of editorial board members were women (P < 0.001). Nine journals had less than 10% women representation on their editorial boards. Over nine years, women representation on editorial boards increased from 16.8% in 2015 to 21.3% in 2024 (P = 0.001), with significant increases in societies of clinical medicine (14.6% vs. 20.0%; P < 0.001) but not in basic medicine. Journals with women editors-in-chief had significantly higher women representation on their boards compared to ones with male editorsin-chief (36.7 ± 13.5% vs. 18.4 ± 10.9%, P < 0.001). The proportion of women senior editorial roles and that of women executive society members showed a significant positive correlation with the proportion of women on editorial boards (P < 0.001 and P < 0.001, respectively). 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			The study highlights the considerable underrepresentation of women in editorial leadership compared to their presence as specialists. However, the number of women editorial board members has increased over the past decade, especially in clinical medicine. Women doctors’ leadership positively correlates with higher women participation on boards, which suggests that promoting women leaders could enhance gender diversity in academic medicine. Further qualitative research is needed to explore the impact of women doctors’ leadership on medical research and patient outcomes. This study provides critical insights into gender disparities in South Korean medical academia and underscores the need for policies to promote women doctors’ leadership. 
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
2.Effects of Methylphenidate and Atomoxetine Treatment on Improvement of Motor Coordination in Children With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

		                        			 Objective:
		                        			To investigate the effects of methylphenidate and atomoxetine treatment on motor coordination in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			In this single-site, open-label, naturalistic follow-up study, 157 children (7.6±1.4 years; 139 males) with ADHD were recruited between March 2015 and May 2020 from the Department of Psychiatry, Asan Medical Center, and treated for 12 weeks with methylphenidate (n=48) or atomoxetine (n=109). Children completed the Advanced Test of Attention (ATA), and caregivers completed the ADHD Rating Scale (ARS) questionnaire and Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ) at baseline and at 12 weeks. Paired t-tests, a mixed-effects model, and linear regression were used to compare treatment groups and assess factors influencing motor coordination changes. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Methylphenidate and atomoxetine resulted in significant improvement in DCDQ fine motor/handwriting, general coordination, and total scores over 12 weeks. Fine motor/handwriting had a significant main effect for time (F1=16.64, p<0.001, η2=0.097); however, the interaction effect between group and time was not significant (F1=0.24, p=0.625, η2=0.002). Changes in parent-reported ARS inattention scores (β=-0.174, p=0.029) and auditory commission errors of ATA (β=0.191, p=0.022) were significantly associated with changes in fine motor/handwriting. Additionally, changes in parent-reported ARS inattention scores (β=-0.177, p=0.034) and rater-reported ARS inattention scores (β=-0.198, p=0.017) were significant predictors of improvements in general coordination in separate models. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			Methylphenidate and atomoxetine had a positive effect on motor coordination in children with ADHD. 5.Integrating Deep Learning–Based Dose Distribution Prediction with Bayesian Networks for Decision Support in Radiotherapy for Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer

		                        			 Purpose:
		                        			Selecting the better techniques to harbor optimal motion management, either a stereotactic linear accelerator delivery using TrueBeam (TBX) or magnetic resonance–guided gated delivery using MRIdian (MRG), is time-consuming and costly. To address this challenge, we aimed to develop a decision-supporting algorithm based on a combination of deep learning-generated dose distributions and clinical data. 
		                        		
		                        			Materials and Methods:
		                        			We retrospectively analyzed 65 patients with liver or pancreatic cancer who underwent both TBX and MRG simulations and planning process. We trained three-dimensional U-Net deep learning models to predict dose distributions and generated dose volume histograms (DVHs) for each system. We integrated predicted DVH metrics into a Bayesian network (BN) model incorporating clinical data. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The MRG prediction model outperformed the TBX model, demonstrating statistically significant superiorities in predicting normalized dose to the planning target volume (PTV) and liver. We developed a final BN prediction model integrating the predictive DVH metrics with patient factors like age, PTV size, and tumor location. This BN model an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve index of 83.56%. The decision tree derived from the BN model showed that the tumor location (abutting vs. apart of PTV to hollow viscus organs) was the most important factor to determine TBX or MRG. It provided a potential framework for selecting the optimal radiation therapy (RT) system based on individual patient characteristics. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusion
		                        			We demonstrated a decision-supporting algorithm for selecting optimal RT plans in upper gastrointestinal cancers, incorporating both deep learning-based dose prediction and BN-based treatment selection. 10.Motivators and Barriers Affecting Exercise in Patients With Parkinson’s Disease

		                        			 Background:
		                        			and Purpose Parkinson’s disease (PD) significantly impacts the quality of life via both motor and nonmotor symptoms. Exercise is a valuable nonpharmacological intervention that can alleviate PD symptoms and slow disease progression. Understanding the factors that motivate and restrict exercise in PD patients is essential for promoting engagement.This study aimed to identify the motivators and barriers affecting exercise in PD patients. 
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			This cross-sectional study assessed exercise habits, motivators, and barriers among PD patients with a modified Hoehn and Yahr stage of ≤2.5. Participants were categorized into non-, low-, and high-exercise groups based on the World Health Organization guidelines. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire, the Korean version of the Sport Motivation Scale, and a barriers-to-exercise questionnaire were utilized. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Data from 165 of 196 enrolled patients were analyzed: 28 (17.0%), 88 (53.3%), and 49 (29.7%) in the non-, low-, and high-exercise groups, respectively. The nonexercise group demonstrated higher levels of fatigue and apathy, and more-severe cardiovascular, mood, intellectual, attention, gastrointestinal, and urinary symptoms. While all groups recognized the benefit of exercise, those in the nonexercise group viewed PD symptoms and depressive mood as major barriers, whereas those in the high-exercise group were primarily motivated by personal satisfaction. 
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			This study highlights the importance of enjoyment and personal satisfaction to the maintenance of exercise habits among PD patients. By enhancing specific motivators and overcoming barriers, particularly PD symptoms and related nonmotor symptoms, tailored interventions can be implemented to increase exercise adherence and, eventually, improve the quality of life of PD patients.
