ObjectiveTo observe the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndrome types in advanced pancreatic cancer patients， and explore the association between median survival time and different TCM syndromes and different intervention times of Chinese herbal medicine （CHM）. MethodsThe clinical data of 136 advanced pancreatic cancer patients who have received CHM for more than 3 months were collected retrospectively， including gender， age， family history， smoking history， drinking history， location of disease， lymph node metastasis， multiple distant metastasis， western medicine treatment methods， TCM diagnosis and treatment information， and survival time. The Kaplan-Meier （KM） estimator was used， and the median survival time of patients was calculated. The TCM syndrome type of each patient was judged， and the main single syndrome types and compound syndrome types were summarized. The median survival time was compared among different compound syndrome types. The patients were further divided into the group of those having received CHM ≥6 months and those having received CHM ＜6 months. Whether receiving CHM ≥6 months was taken as the grouping variable， while the matching variables were age， gender， family history， smoking history， drinking history， location of disease， lymph node metastasis， multiple distant metastasis， surgery， chemotherapy， and radiotherapy when propensity score matching was performed， and the difference in median survival time between the two groups of patients before and after matching was compared. ResultsFor 136 cases of advanced pancreatic cancer， the top five single syndromes were spleen qi deficiency， liver blood stasis， liver qi stagnation， spleen dampness， and liver heat. The main compound types were liver constraint， spleen deficiency and blood stasis syndrome， liver-gallbladder damp-heat and blood stasis syndrome， liver constraint， qi stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome， spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome， and spleen deficiency and dampness-heat internal accumulation syndrome. The overall median survival time before and after matching was 12.47 （7.70，17.10） months and 13.77 （8.83，17.20） months， respectively， and was significantly higher in the group treated with CHM ≥ 6 months than that treated with CHM ＜6 months （P＜0.05）. Among the 136 patients before matching， the median survival time of patients with spleen deficiency and dampness-heat internal accumulation syndrome was longest ［16.23 （14.17，19.40） months］， while that of patients with spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome was the shortest ［7.33 （5.80，12.83） months］. For patients with liver constraint， spleen deficiency and blood stasis syndrome， liver-gallbladder damp-heat and blood stasis syndrome， and spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome， those having received CHM ≥ 6 months have much longer median survival time than those having received CHM ＜6 months （P＜0.05）. Among the 108 patients after matching， the median survival time of those with spleen deficiency and dampness-heat internal accumulation syndrome was the longest ［15.23 （7.67，18.27） months］， while that of spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome was the shortest ［8.80 （6.90，16.17） months］. For patients with liver-gallbladder dampness-heat and blood stasis syndrome and spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome， the median survival time was higher in the group treated with CHM ≥ 6 months treated with CHM ＜6 months （P＜0.05）. ConclusionAfter treatment with CHM， advanced pancreatic cancer patients with spleen deficiency and damp-heat internal accumulation had a better prognosis， while those with spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis had a worse prognosis. Treatment with CHM ≥ 6 months could extend the median survival of advanced pancreatic cancer patients with liver-gallbladder damp-heat and blood stasis syndrome and spleen-stomach yang deficiency and blood stasis syndrome.

Spermidine, as a natural polyamine with high content in nerve cells, plays roles in regulating synaptic plasticity, promoting autophagy, and alleviating oxidative stress in the nervous system. Spermidine and polyamine metabolism may bring new therapeutic ideas for nervous system injury diseases. This paper reviewed the neuroprotective effects and mechanisms of spermidine in nervous system injury diseases.

Abstract: Objective　To understand the epidemiological characteristics of the migratory bird population with hypertension in Hainan and to provide a basis for the health management of the migratory bird population. Methods　One hundred and eighty migratory birds with hypertension who had lived in in the Mangrove Bay community of Chengmai, Hainan for 3 months or more were selected as the study population. Demographic data, including gender, age, ethnicity, occupation, medication use, family history of hypertension, hometown living environment, Hainan living environment (presence of water area and greenbelt around the residence, type of water area and greenbelt), smoking and alcohol consumption, and height and weight were collected by questionnaire and physical examination to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of the study subjects, and unconditional dichotomous logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors affecting the reduction of blood pressure among the hypertensive migratory bird population before and after taking medication in Hainan. Results　A total of 180 study subjects were included, including 77 (42.8%) males and 103 (57.2%) females, with 78 (43.3%) subjects aged ≤65. The hypertension levels were: 87 (48.3%) had normal high blood pressure, 56 (31.1%) had grade 1 hypertension and 37 (20.6%) had grade 2 hypertension. The higher the blood pressure classification, the lower the percentage of migratory individuals whose blood pressure dropped during their stay in Hainan. Age, hypertension classification, dietary habits, living environment, body mass index (BMI), and alcohol consumption were associated with a decrease in blood pressure during Hainan among the study participants who took hypertension medication regularly. Salty diet (OR=2.778, 95%CI:1.070-7.213, P=0.036) and alcohol consumption (OR=2.686, 95%CI:1.042-6.925, P=0.041) were unfavorable factors for lower diastolic blood pressure before taking medication; overweight (OR=3.487, 95%CI:1.306-9.310, P=0.013) was an unfavorable factor in the reduction of diastolic blood pressure after taking medication. Conclusion　The blood pressure reduction is more significant in migratory individuals in migratory individuals under 65 years old, with a light diet, no alcohol consumption and normal BMI. Environmental factors, age, dietary habits and lifestyle are the main causes of blood pressure, which can provide a reference basis for the health management of the migratory birds with hypertension in Hainan.

In March 2020, Foshan Huamei Plastic Surgery Hospital treated a 35-year-old female patient with Mycobacterium abscessus infection after breast augmentation mammoplasty. Twenty days post surgery, there was pain and swelling onthe whole left breast, especially the incision, and the main clinical symptoms such asobvious fluctuation, obvious tenderness andhighskin temperature. Then the left breast implant was removed, and bacterial culture and susceptibility testing of the secretions in the operation area were performed. According to susceptibility testing result, antibiotics were used intravenouslyand the cavity of the operation area was flushed. After 9 months flushed treatment, the infection was controlled and followed up for 14 months. There was norecurrence on the left breast. In the whole treatment, it is necessary to ensure the continuity of the treatment, especially the early stage of the infection, in order to ensure the possibility of cure of the disease.

Chronic inflammation and tumor occurrence and development, recurrence and metastasis and immune escape and other key links have a far-reaching impact. The level of inflammation and immunity can be reflected by the markers of inflammatory response, including C-reactive protein, neutrophils, platelets, lymphocytes and their combinations in the blood, such as neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, platelet to lymphocyte ratio, lymphocyte to monocyte ratio, systemic immune inflammation index and so on. At present, inflammatory index has been proved to be predictors of recurrence and survival in a variety of malignant tumors. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), as a common invasive tumor, is often diagnosed in the late course of the disease, so patients often can not achieve a satisfactory prognosis. This article mainly reviews the clinical application of the above inflammatory response indexes in HCC.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the pathological types of primary liver cancer, and its prognosis is often not ideal. The prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma is not only closely related to tumor load and general physical status, but also closely related to liver reserve function. Albumin-bilirubin grading (ALBI) is a new model reflecting liver reserve function. In many therapeutic measures, such as surgical resection, liver transplantation, transcatheter arterial chemoembolization, radiofrequency ablation and targeted therapy, its ability to predict the prognosis of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma has been proved to be no less than that of Child-Pugh grade, which is widely used in clinic, and its predictive performance will be further improved when combined with other indexes.Therefore, it has great application value in clinical practice. This article mainly reviews the clinical application of ALBI grade in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and the progress of research results in recent years.

Objective To explore the developmental characteristics of white matter volume in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children longitudinal.Methods From May 2011 to September 2014,37 ASD children (ASD group)and 27 developmental delays (DD) children (control group) were treated at the Child Mental Health Research Center,Nanjing Brian Hospital Affiliated of Nanjing Medical University,and the children whose age,gender and developmental quotient matched with the ASD children were scanned by structure magnetic resonance imaging (sMRI) at the age of 2-3 years old and 4-5 years old respectively.Region of interest (ROI) technology was adopted to investigate the change of the cerebrum white and the sub-lobes structure white matter volume with time.Then the correlation between clinical symptoms and brain white matter volume changes was analyzed.Results Among the 2-3 years old,compared with the control group,the white matter volume of the total brain[(383 521.84 ±6 427.57) mm3 vs.(364 014.06 ±6 856.97) mm3],the left cerebral hemisphere [(191 609.35 ± 3 206.60) mm3 vs.(181 695.89 ± 3 389.54)mm3],temporal lobe [(41 860.49 ±816.38) mm3 vs.(39 444.18 ± 834.85) mm3] and the right temporal lobe [(21 312.79 ± 414.07) mm3 vs.(20 084.22 ± 412.13) mm3] were significantly larger in the ASD group,and the differences were statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05).With the analysis of covariance with age or the total brain volume as the covariate,the differences disappeared(all P ＞ 0.05).Among the 4-5 years old,compared with the control group,the white matter volumes of the total brain[(417 651.42 ± 6 443.86) mm3 vs.(394 317.27 ± 6 404.86)mm3],left cerebral hemisphere [(208 714.16 ±3 214.61) mm3 vs.(197 192.82 ±3 262.02) mm3],right cerebral hemisphere [(208937.26±3242.09) mm3 vs.(7 124.45 ±3 193.13) mm3],frontal lobe [(107 107.46±1 681.99) mm3 vs.(100 326.19 ± 1 883.24) mm3],left frontal lobe [(54 569.63 ± 846.85) mm3 vs.(51 177.25 ±979.09) mm3],right frontal lobe [(52 537.83 ± 841.99) mm3 vs.(49 148.94 ±928.31) mm3],temporal lobe [(45 189.75 ± 833.29) mm3 vs.(42 487.73 ± 786.27) mm3],left temporal lobe [(22 204.21 ±411.77) mm3 vs.(20 922.90 ± 418.46) mm3],and right temporal lobe [(22 985.54 ± 426.93) mm3 vs.(21 564.83 ± 378.78) mm3]were significantly larger in the ASD group,and the differences were statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05).With the analysis of covariance with age as the covariate,the differences still existed (all P ＜ 0.05).With the analysis of covariance with the total brain volume as the covariate,the differences disappeared (all P ＞ 0.05).For longitudinal analysis,there was a significant difference in the white matter volume between the whole brain,left cerebral hemisphere,right cerebral hemisphere,frontal lobe,left frontal lobe,fight frontal lobe,temporal lobe,left temporal lobe,right temporal lobe and the differences were statistically significant (F =5.521,5.533,5.459,5.830,5.800,5.723,4.857,4.418,5.159,all P ＜0.05).There was a positive correlation between the changes of the volume of whole brain,the white matter volume in the whole brain,bilateral cerebral hemisphere,frontal lobe,parietal lobe,right parietal lobe and Childhood Autism Rating Scale (r =0.367,0.343,0.321,0.349,0.296,0.308,0.351,all P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Among the 2-3 years old,the white matter volume of the brain regions have been increased significantly in ASD.Among the 4-5 years old,the increase of the white matter volume of the brain regions implicated more widely which mainly concentrated in the frontal and temporal lobe in ASD.The severity of the clinical symptoms of ASD may be associated with the white matter volume of the total brain,bilateral cerebral hemisphere,frontal lobe,parietal lobe and right parietal lobe.

Objective To explore and integrate the key techniques used in the surveillance and forecast of schistosomiasis in the water regions along the Yangtze River,so as to provide technical support for identifying rapidly the risk of schistosomiasis transmission and implementing control measures targeting the risk. Methods According to the distribution of water systems and water regions along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province,the demonstration sites for surveillance and forecast of schistoso? miasis were set across the province,where the integration and demonstration of the techniques regarding monitoring of Schistoso?ma japonicum infection in sentinel mice,human and animal activities,release of forecast information,and emergency treat?ment of water regions at risk of infection were performed. The pattern of human and animal activities was compared with the S. ja?ponicum infection in sentinel mice in the demonstration sites,and the operability of the release of information and emergency treatment of the risk of S. japonicum infection was evaluated. Results A total of 50 demonstration sites for surveillance and forecast of schistosomiasis were set in fixed anchor points,opening of the navigation lock to the Yangtze River,freight terminal, agritainment places,ferry,large construction places,and places for guaranteeing the Youth Olympic Games in 23 counties(dis?tricts)of 5 cities,Jiangsu Province. During the period between May and September,2014,the infectivity of water body was monitored by using 5 batches of sentinel mice,with a 99.06%(4 954/5 001)gross recovery rate of mice. S. japonicum infection was detected in a demonstration site,and an infected mouse was found,with a 0.02%(1/4 933)gross positive rate of sentinel mice. The field survey showed 2 088 person?times contacting water,including 91.95%(1 920/2 088)contacting water due to the production such as capturing fish,harvesting and cultivating crops,and repairing and building boats,and 8.05%(168/2 088)contacting water due to the life activity,such as fishing,washing vegetables and playing with water. The people contacted water predominantly in August and September(49.57%). A total of 859 boats containing 1 877 boatmen were observed,68.22%(586/859)of which were fishing boats containing 1 306 fishermen(69.58%). There were 32 sheep found in 4 demonstration sites,and 3 sheep were seen in the demonstration site with infected sentinel mouse. Four blue forecasts(emergence of water con?tact)and one orange forecast(S. japonicum?infected sentinel mouse detected)were released across the province,with one fore?cast map released which showed 5 sites with fishing and one site with sheep grazing,one emergency response system initiated, mollusciciding implemented in 10 hm2 high?risk regions,120 sheep grazed in fence,and 35 fishermen given health?education materials,schistosomiasis examination and preventive therapy. In addition,no acute schistosomiasis occurred in the demonstra?tion site with S. japonicum?infected sentinel mice. Conclusions The integration and demonstration of the techniques regarding monitoring of S. japonicum infection in sentinel mice,human and animal activities,release of forecast information,and emer?gency treatment of water regions at risk of infection provides an effective approach for the large?scale surveillance and forecast of schistosomiasis.

Our investigation was conducted in order to verify a recent severe epidemic at several swine farms in northern China that indicated a newly emerging disease. Evidence confirmed that the epidemic was caused by a virulent Pseudorabies virus infection in swine herds.
