Objective:
To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of menopausal syndrome among postmenopausal women in Pan'an County, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide the basis for guiding the health management of postmenopausal women.
Methods:
From May 2023 to April 2024, the postmenopausal women aged 40 to 69 years in Pan'an County were selected using the random cluster sampling method. Demographic information, lifestyle and prevalence of gynecological diseases were collected through questionnaire surveys. The prevalence of menopausal syndrome was assessed by modified Kupperman Score Scale. Factors affecting menopausal syndrome were analyzed by a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 816 postmenopausal women were surveyed, with an mean age of (57.63±2.92) years and a mean natural menopause age of (49.85±2.13) years. There were 574 cases with menopausal syndrome, with a prevalence of 70.34%. Flashes and sweating, insomnia and irritability were common symptoms, accounting for 62.87%, 47.43% and 41.18%, respectively. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that monthly personal income of ≤5 000 yuan (<3 000 yuan, OR=3.124, 95%CI: 1.829-5.335; 3 000-5 000 yuan, OR=2.399, 95%CI: 1.370-4.201) and having gynecological diseases (OR=1.970, 95%CI: 1.292-3.004) were associated with a higher risk of menopausal syndrome, while average (OR=0.141, 95%CI: 0.072-0.276) or sufficient sleep quality (OR=0.095, 95%CI: 0.049-0.185) were associated with a lower risk of menopausal syndrome.
Conclusion
The prevalence of menopausal syndrome among postmenopausal women in Pan'an County is relatively high, and is mainly influenced by personal economic status, sleep quality and the presence of gynecological diseases.

[Abstract] Objective: To investigate the effect of alantolactone (ALT) on proliferation, migration, invasion and apoptosis of human osteosarcoma 143B cells and the underlying mechanism. Methods: Osteosarcoma 143B cells were treated with different concentrations of ALT (0, 4, 6, 8, 10 µmol/L). Then, the cell proliferation ability was detected by crystal violet staining and MTT assay, cell migration was determined by Wound-healing test, cell invasion was analyzed by Transwell assay and cell apoptosis rate was detected by Hoechst33258 staining. The mRNA and protein expressions of E-cadherin, N-cadherin, caspase-3, cleaved caspase-3 (c-caspase-3), poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) and cleaved PARP (c-PARP) in 143B cells were detected by qPCR and Western blotting (WB), respectively. TCF/LEF (T cell lymphocyte factor/lymphoid enhancer factor) transcriptional activity was examined with Luciferase reporter gene assay. The mRNA and protein expressions of β-catenin as well as MMP-7 and c-Myc were detected by qPCR and WB, respectively. Results: ALT inhibited proliferation, migration and invasion of osteosarcoma143B cells and promoted apoptosis(P<0.05or P<0.01). After the treatment with ALT at 8, 10 µmol/L, the mRNA and protein expressions of E-cadherin and PARP, as well as the protein expressions of c-caspase-3 and c-PARP were up-regulated, while the mRNA and protein expressions of N-cadherin were downregulated (P<0.05 or P<0.01);At the sametime, theTCF/LEF transcriptional activity and the mRNA and protein expressions of β-catenin, MMP-7 and c-Myc were significantly down-regulated (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion:ALT may inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion and promote cell apoptosis possibly through suppressing Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in osteosarcoma 143B cells.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2020;53(0):E003-E003
Objective:
To evaluate the status and influencing factors of the mental health of patients with COVID-19 during isolation treatment.
Methods:
From February 2nd to 16th, 2020, 106 COVID-19 patients were anonymously investigated for their mental health status using onlinequestionnaires (including Patient Health Questionnaire-9, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7, Patient Health Questionnaire-15 scales). The patients were from Tongji Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College ofHuazhong University of Science and Technology. After data processing, SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis.
Results:
Of the 106 COVID-19 patients, 46 were male and 60 were female, with an age of (35.90±11.92) years. The detection rates of depression, anxiety and somatic symptoms in those patients were 49.06% (52/106) , 56.60% (60/106) and 69.81% (74/106) respectively. The severe cases of depression (scale score greater than 19) , anxiety (scale score greater than 14) and somatic symptoms (scale score greater than 14) accounted for 9.43% (10/106) , 15.09% (16/106) and 20.75% (22/106) respectively. In addition, 67.92% (72/106) of the patients had sleep problems, 24.53% (26/106) had self-mutilating or suicidal thoughts, and 28.30% (30/106) required psychological counseling—all of which were at significantly higher percentages than those of the general population. Only 39.62% (42/106) of the examined patients had neither deression nor anxiety. By using the non-parametric test of rank conversion for analysis, and the results showed that both married patients and nucleic-acid-positive patients had more severe depressions, and both married patients and anoxemicpatients had more severe somatic symptoms.
Conclusion
This mental health assessment showed that depression, anxiety, and various somatic symptoms exist among the COVID-19 patients, and therefore early identification and intervention should be conducted to avoid extreme events such asself-mutilating or suicidal impulsivity, with a greater focus on both married patients and patients with severe symptoms.
