Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the application of maxillary osteotomy plate and positioning guide plate in maxillary Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy to eliminate the postoperative error caused by condylar displacement. Methods:Patients suffered from skeletal malocclusion and needed Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy between January 2018 and November 2020 were selected from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College. All patients were scanned with 64 slice spiral CT. The DICOM format data were analyzed using the Simplant software to reconstruct the virtual three-dimensional model of the jaw before operation. Then, the measurement of indexes and the maxillary Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy were carried out on the virtual three-dimensional model, respectively. 3D-printed osteotomy guide plate and positioning guide plate were used to determine the osteotomy line and the position of maxillary advancement. 3D-printed tooth supported occlusal plate was used to support the mandibular sagittal split and retraction. The differences of 10 indexes between the two groups (virtual operation and surgery) were analyzed by paired t test using SPSS 22.0. Results:A total of 8 patients (5 males and 3 females) needed maxillary Le Fort Ⅰ osteotomy aged from 18 to 39 years old were recorded. The deviation of age in these patients was 24.8. The 3D-printed guide plate and tooth supporting occlusal plate were positioned accurately in surgery. All the operations were successful with primary healing of the incision and stable occlusion, and without joint clicking. There was no significant difference on the 10 indexes between the groups of virtual operation and surgery ( P>0.05). Conclusions:The application of maxillary osteotomy plate and positioning guide plate can effectively and accurately control the three-dimensional movement of the maxilla and improve the precision of maxillary Le fort Ⅰ osteotomy in orthognathic surgery, making the surgical effect highly consistent with the preoperative design.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: Myenteric plexus interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC-MY) are involved in the generation of gut pacemaker activity and neuronal communication. We performed patch clamp on ICC-MY in situ to observe the changes of pacemaker activity in response to neural modulations. METHODS: A fresh longitudinal muscle with myenteric plexus (LMMP) from mouse jejunum was prepared. ICC-MY and ganglion neurons embedded in the layer of longitudinal muscles were targeted by patch clamping in whole-cell configuration in a model of current or voltage clamp. Neurogenic modulators were applied to evaluate their effects on ICC pacemaker activity. RESULTS: In situ ICC-MY showed spontaneous and rhythmical voltage oscillations with a frequency of 27.2 ± 3.9 cycles/min, amplitude of 32.6 ± 6.3 mV, and resting membrane potential of −62.2 ± 2.8 mV. In situ neurons showed electrically evocable action potential in single or multiple spikes. Pacemaker activity was modulated by neuronal activators through receiving a neuronal input. Application of tetrodotoxin depolarized pacemaker potentials in a dose dependent manner, and decreased the amplitude at tetrodotoxin 0.3 μM for about 40 ± 10%; capsaicin (1 μM) ameliorated ICC-MY K+ current for about 49 ± 14.8%; and, nitric oxide hyperpolarized pacemaker potential and decreased the amplitude and frequency. CONCLUSIONS: The in situ preparation patch clamp study further demonstrates that the pacemaker activity is an intrinsic property of ICC. The neurogenic activators change and shape pacemaker potential and activity in situ. LMMP preparation in situ patch clamp provides an ideal platform to study the functional innervation of the ICC and the enteric neural system, thereby, for evaluating the neural regulation of pacemaker activity, especially in disorder models.

One unusual human G3P[3] group A rotavirus (RVA) strain M2-102 was identified in stool sample collected from a child with diarrhea in Guangxi Province, China in 2014. It is well known that G3P[3] is a genotype commonly identified in feline and canine RVAs. However, the preliminary phylogenetic analyses of the VP7 and VP4 genes of strain M2-102 indicated that these two genes were closely related to bat RVA strain MYAS33 and simian strain RRV, respectively, whereas both clustered distantly to feline/canine-like RVA strains. In this study, full genome sequencing and molecular analyses were conducted to obtain the true origin of strain M2-102. It was revealed that strain RVA/Human-wt/CHN/M2-102/2014/G3P[3] exhibited a G3-P[3]-I3-R3-C3-M3-A9-N3-T3-E3-H6 genotype constellation for VP7-VP4-VP6-VP1-VP2-VP3-NSP1-NSP2-NSP3-NSP4-NSP5 genes. Phylogenetic analyses revealed that 5 genes (VP7, VP1, VP2, NSP2 and NSP3) from strain M2-102 were closely related to those of bat strain MYAS33 from Yunnan Province which was thought a true bat RVA strain rather than a virus transmitted between species, while another 5 genes (VP4, VP3, NSP1, NSP4 and NSP5) clustered closely with those of simian strain RRV, yet the VP6 gene was closely related to that of human G3P[9] strain AU-1 and AU-1-like RVAs. The epidemiological data indicated that the child infected with M2-102 came from a countryside village, located in Dong Autonomous County of Sanjiang (subtropical hilly wooded area), Liuzhou city in Guangxi Province which might provide natural environment for reassortment events occurring among animal and human RVAs. Therefore, the data suggest that human strain M2-102 might originate from multiple reassortment events among bat, simian and human AU-1-like RVAs, yet it is not clear whether the genomic backbone based on bat MYAS33 (5 genes) and simian RRV (5 genes) like rotaviruses had been obtained through reassortment before being transmitted to the human. This is the first report on whole genome analysis of human G3P[3] RVA from China.

Objective To design and develop new types of health education materials which are suitable for fishermen and boatmen in endemic areas of marshland and lake regions, and to observe their application effects. Methods A total of 292 adult fishmen and boatmen who lived in Houshan Village,Yugan County, the schistosomiasis endemic area of Poyang Lake Re?gion, were selected randomly and investigated by questionnaires to understand the status of their knowledge, attitudes, practic?es on schistosomiasis control as well as the channels for getting information on schistosomiasis control and the materials that they were willing to accept. Then the information and materials suitable for the target population were developed together by the re?searchers and the volunteers of the villagers through focus group discussions, personal interviews and the Delphi method. Re?sults A series of participatory health education materials of schistosomiasis control targeted to the fishmen and boatmen were developed, including 2 live posters,2 picture puzzles,2 short opusculums and one song about schistosomiasis control. The field application showed that 98.97%,84.38%,78.35% and 80.93% of the participants considered those materials had scientificity, intelligibility, interestingness and practicability, respectively. Conclusion The participatory health education materials of schistosomiasis control is suitable for fishmen and boatmen, which can be used for reference by other endemic areas in marsh?land and lake regions.
