AIM:To analyze the association between mobile phone addiction and high myopia among college students.METHODS:We conducted a cross-sectional questionnaire survey in December 2022 on all students of a university in Shaanxi Province, and the questionnaire included socio-demographic characteristics, mobile phone addiction, high myopia, and lifestyle. Binary Logistic regression model was used to analyze the association between mobile phone addiction and high myopia among college students.RESULTS:A total of 19 952 college students were included. The prevalence of high myopia was 7.31%. The rate of mobile phone addiction was 25.68%, and the mobile phone addiction score was 37.59±13.38. The incidence of high myopia among college students with mobile phone addiction was higher than non-mobile phone addiction(P<0.001). After adjusting for socio-demographic characteristics and lifestyle, the risk of high myopia among college students with mobile phone addiction was 1.274 times(95%CI:1.131-1.434)higher than non-mobile phone addiction. For each point increase of total mobile phone addiction score, withdrawal symptoms score, salience score, social comfort score, and mood changes score, the risk of high myopia among college students increased by 0.9%(95%CI:1.005-1.013), 2.0%(95%CI:1.010-1.030), 2.6%(95%CI:1.010-1.043), 4.8%(95%CI:1.030-1.066), and 3.3%(95%CI:1.014-1.052), respectively.CONCLUSION:Mobile phone addiction is significantly associated with the increased risk of high myopia among college students, and early intervention of mobile phone use may reduce the risk of high myopia among college students.

Objective: To investigate the distribution characteristics of previous infection of human parvovirus B19(HPV B19) among blood donors in Xi 'an, and to provide data support and theoretical basis for formulating individualized and precise blood screening strategies. Methods: A total of 970 qualified blood samples tested at Shaanxi Blood Center from August to September 2024 were randomly selected. The levels of HPV B19 IgG antibodies in the serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The distribution characteristics of the samples were analyzed from the perspectives of age, gender, education level, occupation, blood type and region. Results: The positive rate of HPV B19 IgG antibodies among blood donors in Xi 'an was 25.26%(245/970), which increased gradually with age (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the positive rate of HPV B19 IgG antibodies among blood donors of different genders, education levels, occupations, or blood types (P>0.05). Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that past HPV B19 infection was only related to age (P<0.05). The distribution of positive blood samples in 13 districts and counties of Xi 'an was counted based on the blood collection sites. The results showed that there was no significant global spatial autocorrelation in the distribution of positive samples. Among them, the Weiyang District and Beilin District exhibited a "high-high" cluster (P<0.05), while Chang'an District exhibited a "low-high" cluster (P<0.01). Conclusion: A certain proportion of blood donors in Xi'an showed past infection with HPV B19, which was only correlated with age and demonstrated an upward trend. It is recommended to continue expanding the screening scope and incorporate screening for this virus in blood transfusion processes involving susceptible populations.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of calcitriol on sepsis-induced immunosuppression and its potential mechanism. METHODS A sepsis-induced immunosuppression mice model was established using cecal ligation and puncture （CLP）. The 7-day survival rate， serum levels of tumor necrosis factor- α （TNF- α）， interleukin-6 （IL-6）， and IL-1β were determined in sham operation group， CLP group and calcitriol group （1 μg/kg）； the morphological changes of lung tissue in mice were observed. Lipopolysaccharide （LPS） tolerance macrophage models （representing sepsis-induced immunosuppression） were established using mice macrophage cell line RAW264.7 cells. The levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in cell supernatants as well as mRNA expressions of IL-1β， nucleotide-binding domain leucine-rich repeat and pyrin domain-containing receptor 3 （NLRP3）， IL-18 and caspase-1 were assessed in culture medium group， LPS group， LPS tolerance group， and calcitriol （5 μmol/L） group. The following parameters were measured： propidium iodide （PI）-positive cell ratio， caspase-1 activity， lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） release， and Ca2+ levels. RESULTS Compared with CLP group， 7-day survival rate and serum levels of TNF-α， IL-6 and IL-1β were increased significantly in calcitriol group （P＜0.05）. Additionally， pulmonary tissue damage was markedly attenuated in calcitriol group. Compared with LPS tolerance group， the levels of TNF-α and IL-6 in cell supernatants， mRNA expressions of IL- 1β， NLRP3， IL-18 and caspase-1， PI-positive cell ratio， caspase-1 activity， LDH release， and Ca2+ levels were all increased significantly in calcitriol group （P＜0.05）. CONCLUSIONS Calcitriol can reverse sepsis-induced immunosuppression， and the mechanism of action may be E-mail：yarfwy@163.com achieved by the binding of calcitriol to vitamin D receptor，which promotes the release of Ca2+ from the endoplasmic reticulum， thereby driving the NLRP3/caspase-1-mediated pyroptosis pathway.

BACKGROUND: Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide and a major cause of cancer-related deaths. Early-stage lung cancer is often manifested as pulmonary nodules, and accurate assessment of the malignancy risk is crucial for prolonging survival and avoiding overtreatment. This study aims to construct a model based on image feature parameters automatically extracted by artificial intelligence (AI) to evaluate its effectiveness in predicting the malignancy of part-solid nodule (PSN). METHODS: This retrospective study analyzed 229 PSN from 222 patients who underwent pulmonary nodule resection at Lanzhou University Second Hospital between October 2020 and February 2025. According to pathological results, 45 cases of benign lesions and precursor glandular lesion were categorized into the non-malignant group, and 184 cases of pulmonary malignancies were categorized into the malignant group. All patients underwent preoperative chest computed tomography (CT), and AI software was used to extract imaging feature parameters. Univariate analysis was used to screen significant variables; variance inflation factor (VIF) was calculated to exclude highly collinear variables, and LASSO regression was further applied to identify key features. Multivariate Logistic regression was used to determine independent risk factors. Based on the selected variables, five models were constructed: Logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, and support vector machine (SVM). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to assess the performance of the models. RESULTS: The independent risk factors for the malignancy of PSN include roughness (ngtdm), dependence variance (gldm), and short run low gray-level emphasis (glrlm). Logistic regression achieved area under the curves ( AUCs) of 0.86 and 0.89 in the training and testing sets, respectively, showing good performance. XGBoost had AUCs of 0.78 and 0.77, respectively, demonstrating relatively balanced performance, but with lower accuracy. SVM showed an AUC of 0.93 in the training set, which decreased to 0.80 in the testing set, indicating overfitting. LightGBM performed excellently in the training set with an AUC of 0.94, but its performance declined in the testing set, with an AUC of 0.88. In contrast, random forest demonstrated stable performance in both the training and testing sets, with AUCs of 0.89 and 0.91, respectively, exhibiting high stability and excellent generalizability. CONCLUSIONS The random forest model constructed based on independent risk factors demonstrated the best performance in predicting the malignancy of PSN and could provide effective auxiliary predictions for clinicians, supporting individualized treatment decisions.

Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are the primary fibrogenic cells in the liver, and their activation plays a crucial role in the development and progression of hepatic fibrosis. Here, we report that retinoid X receptor-alpha (RXRα), a unique member of the nuclear receptor superfamily, is a key modulator of HSC activation and liver fibrosis. RXRα exerts its effects by modulating calcium/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase kinase β (CaMKKβ)-mediated activation of AMP-activated protein kinase-alpha (AMPKα). In addition, we demonstrate that K-80003, which binds RXRα by a unique mechanism, effectively suppresses HSC activation, proliferation, and migration, thereby inhibiting liver fibrosis in the CCl₄ and amylin liver NASH (AMLN) diet animal models. The effect is mediated by AMPKα activation, promoting mitophagy in HSCs. Mechanistically, K-80003 activates AMPKα by inducing RXRα to form condensates with CaMKKβ and AMPKα via a two-phase process. The formation of RXRα condensates is driven by its N-terminal intrinsic disorder region and requires phosphorylation by CaMKKβ. Our results reveal a crucial role of RXRα in liver fibrosis regulation through modulating mitochondrial activities in HSCs. Furthermore, they suggest that K-80003 and related RXRα modulators hold promise as therapeutic agents for fibrosis-related diseases.

Osteoarthritis (OA) causes chronic pain that significantly impairs quality of life, with current treatments often proving insufficient and accompanied by adverse effects. Recent research has identified the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) and its resident macrophages as crucial mediators of chronic OA pain through neuroinflammation driven by macrophage polarization. We present a novel injectable thermo-sensitive hydrogel system, KAF@PLEL, designed to deliver an anti-inflammatory peptide (KAF) specifically to the DRG. This biodegradable hydrogel enables sustained KAF release, promoting the reprogramming of DRG macrophages from pro-inflammatory to anti-inflammatory phenotypes. Through comprehensive in vitro and in vivo studies, we evaluated the hydrogel's biocompatibility, effects on macrophage polarization, and therapeutic efficacy in chronic OA pain management. The system demonstrated significant capabilities in preserving macrophage mitochondrial function, suppressing neuroinflammation, alleviating chronic OA pain, reducing cartilage degradation, and improving motor function in OA rat models. The sustained-release properties of KAF@PLEL enabled prolonged therapeutic effects while minimizing systemic exposure and side effects. These findings suggest that KAF@PLEL represents a promising therapeutic approach for improving outcomes in OA patients through targeted, sustained treatment.

BackgroundNon-suicidal self-injury （NSSI） behaviors have become a serious global public health issue.The detection rate of NSSI behaviors among college students in China ranges from 9.8% to 13.53%. Integrated theoretical models suggest that distal family risk factors influence NSSI behaviors through emotional regulation mechanisms. However， existing researches have predominantly focused on single family risks， leaving the relationship between cumulative family risks and NSSI behaviors， as well as the underlying pathways， remain unclear. ObjectiveTo explore the effects of cumulative family risk on NSSI behaviors among college students， analyze the chain mediating roles of emotional regulation difficulties and depression， and examine the moderating effect of gender， so as to provide references for targeted interventions for NSSI behaviors in college students. MethodsOn March 1， 2024， a cluster sampling method was employed to select 518 college students from two universities in Heilongjiang Province. Assessments were conducted using Chinese version of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire （CTQ）， the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale （DERS）， the Patient Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 item （PHQ-9） and the Adolescent Self-Injury Questionnaire. Logistic regression analysis was used to examine the impact of cumulative family risk factors on NSSI behaviors among college students. Model 6 in Process 4.1 was applied to test the chain mediating roles of emotional regulation difficulties and depression in the relationship between cumulative family risk and NSSI behaviors， while model 83 was utilized to analyze the moderating effects of gender on the path "cumulative family risk → emotion regulation difficulties". ResultsA total of 475 （91.70%） college students completed valid questionnaires. Logistic regression analysis revealed that childhood abuse （OR=2.561， 95% CI： 1.566-2.561）， non-parental family structure （OR=2.108， 95% CI：1.102-4.029） and left-behind experience （OR=2.356， 95% CI： 1.021-5.439） were risk factors for NSSI behaviors among college students. Cumulative family risk positively predicted NSSI behaviors （β=0.345，95% CI：1.059-4.286， P<0.01）， and this relationship was mediated by a chain pathway involving emotional regulation difficulties （β=0.136，95% CI： 0.882-4.681， P<0.05） and depression （β=0.160， 95% CI： 0.316-1.073， P<0.01）. Gender moderated the relationship between cumulative family risk and emotional regulation difficulties （β=0.103， 95% CI： 1.567-8.316， P<0.01）， with cumulative family risk significantly predicting emotional regulation difficulties in female students （β=0.374， 95% CI： 0.099-0.084， P<0.01）. ConclusionCumulative family risk can directly influence college students' NSSI behaviors， and may also indirectly affect NSSI behaviors through the mediating roles of emotional regulation difficulties and depression. Objective:To observe the development process of the neuronal synapse in cerebral cortex and basal ganglionic eminence(GE)regions of the mice,and to clarify the differences in the development of excitatory and inhibitory synapses in different brain regions in vivo and in vitro.Methods:The female C57BL/6 mice were euthanized by cervical dislocation from the 13.5th day to the 15.5th day during the pregnancy,and the embryos were collected under the sterile conditions.The cortex and GE regions of brain tissue of the embryonic mice were gradually isolated under microscope.The primary neurons from the embryonic mice were cultured in vitro,and the cell samples were collected on the 3rd,7th,14th,and 21th days,respectively,and regarded as culture 3 d,7 d,14 d,and 21 d groups.The expression levels of postsynaptic density 95(PSD95)and Gephyrin mRNA in the primary neurons from the cortex and GE regions of the mice in various groups were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR)method.Immunofluorescence method was used to detect the expression levels of vesicular glutamate transporter 1(vGLUT1),PSD95,vesicular GABA transporter(vGAT),and Gephyrin proteins in the neurons from the cortex and GE regions of the mice in various groups.Immunofluorescence method was also used to detect the expression levels of vGLUT1 and vGAT proteins in the neurons from the cortical and GE regions in brain tissue of the embryonic mice.Results:Compared with culture 3 d group,the expression levels of PSD95 and Gephyrin mRNA in cortex and GE regions of the mice in culture 14 d and 21 d groups were significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with cortex area,the expression level of Gephyrin mRNA in the neurons from GE region of the mice in culture 14 d group was significantly decreased(P<0.01).The microscope observation results showed that the excitatory and inhibitory synapses in the neurons from cortex and GE regions of the mice in culture 14 d group showed preliminary development,with positive expression of relevant proteins;among them,the excitatory synaptic proteins showed more distinct positive expression in the cortex neurons,and the presynaptic vGLUT1 and postsynaptic PSD95 molecules exhibited co-localization in the cell bodies and protrusions of the cortical neurons;the inhibitory presynaptic vGAT protein and postsynaptic Gephyrin protein in the neurons from GE region also exhibited co-localization in the cell bodies and protrusions,and there were more distinct expressions of the presynaptic molecule proteins than postsynaptic molecule proteins.Compared with cortex region,the levels of vGLUT1 and PSD95 proteins in the neurons from GE region of the mice in culture 14 d group were significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the levels of vGAT and gephyrin proteins were significantly increased(P<0.01).In culture 21 d group,the positive expressions of synaptic protein in the neurons from cortex and GE regions were increased,and the excitatory and inhibitory synapses further matured and enhanced.In the neurons from cortex and GE regions,rich patterns of corresponding pre-and postsynaptic expression were formed in the cell bodies and protrusions,and synapse structures showed gradual,positive development,with more apparent expression of presynaptic molecules compared wih postsynaptic proteins.Compared with cortex region,the levels of vGLUT1 and PSD95 proteins in the neurons from GE region of the mice in culture 21 d group were significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the levels of vGAT and Gephyrin proteins were significantly increased(P<0.01).Compared with cortex region,the expression level of vGLUT1 protein in the neurons from GE region in brain tissue of the embryonic mice was significantly decreased(P<0.01),while the expression level of vGAT protein was significantly increased(P<0.05).Conclusion:There are distinct differences in synaptic development between the neurons from cortex and GE regions,the excitatory synapses develope earlier in the cortical region and the inhibitory synapses develope earlier in the GE region.The region-specific development of synapses suggests that different types of neural diseases with different cell types might originate from different developmental processes.

OBJECTIVE To assess the blending types and workload of pharmacy intravenous admixture services （PIVAS） in China. METHODS By questionnaire survey， the working status of PIVAS in different levels of hospitals nationwide was investigated， involving the types of blending infusion， daily blending volume of hazardous drugs infusion， parenteral nutrition solution， general and antibacterial drug infusion， intravenous bolus drugs， skin test solution and intravenous agents， as well as the daily packing volume. RESULTS A sample of 750 PIVAS in 30 provinces （autonomous regions， municipalities） across China were surveyed by questionnaire， involving 621 tertiary hospitals and 90 secondary hospitals. The main types of liquid preparation were intravenous infusion， followed by parenteral nutrition solution， and chemotherapy pump （including chemotherapy infusion）， accounting for 99.73%， 79.47% and 43.33%， respectively. The daily blending volume of hazardous drugs infusion， parenteral nutrition solution， general and antibacterial drug infusion， intravenous bolus drugs， skin test solution and intravenous agents in PIVAS of tertiary hospitals were 23.00 （9.00， 56.50） sets， 31.00 （13.97， 74.00） bags， 813.00 （375.00， 2 061.75） bags， 426.00 （210.00， 987.00） bags， 30.00 （6.00， 155.00） ampoules， 30.00 （7.13， 136.84） ampoules， 3 200.00 （1 684.50， 5 554.50） ampoules respectively， while the daily packing volume was 218.50 （52.26， 559.00） bags； above indexes of PIVAS in secondary hospital were 4.00（2.00，12.00）sets， 8.90（3.00，23.00）bags， 270.50（108.00， 2 061.75）bags， 157.00（71.00，987.00）bags， 5.85 （3.75，141.00） ampoules， 0 ampoule， 1 349.00（548.10，2 408.00）ampoules， 107.50（33.25，207.00）bags. CONCLUSIONS The scope of blending types of PIVAS has been significantly expanded， and tertiary hospitals are significantly higher than secondary hospitals in the blending and packing volumes of all types of intravenous fluids and drugs dispensed， showing obvious advantages in dealing with complex medications and high-risk treatments.

ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical efficacy of Gandouling tablet （GDL） on abnormal lipid metabolism in Wilson's disease （WD） and the correlation between the prediction model of hepatic steatosis and the related indexes of lipid metabolism in WD. MethodA total of 86 patients with abnormal lipid metabolism in WD were selected. The 24-hour urine copper， alanine aminotransferase （ALT）， aspartate aminotransferase （AST）， serum triglyceride （TG）， total cholesterol （TC）， apolipoprotein B （ApoB）， low density lipoprotein cholesterol （LDL-C）， bile acid （BA）， γ-glutamyl transferase （GGT）， prediction model of hepatic steatosis ［hepatic steatosis index （HSI） and Zhejiang University index （ZJU index）］， ultrasonic attenuation coefficient imaging （ATT）， and traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） syndrome score were statistically analyzed before treatment. Pearson correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between TG， TC， LDL-C， ApoB， ALT， AST， ALT/AST， BA， GGT， TCM syndrome score， ATT， and HIS and ZJU. The patients were divided into an observation group and a control group by random number table method， with 43 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with GDL combined with sodium dimercaptopropane sulfonate （DMPS）， while the control group was only treated with DMPS as a control. After six courses of treatment， 24-hour urine copper， TC， TG， LDL-C， ApoB， HSI， ZJU， ATT， TCM syndrome score， and clinical efficiency before and after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups. The correlation between HSI and ZJU and serum TC， TG， LDL-C， ApoB， ALT， AST， ALT/AST， BA， GGT， TCM syndrome scores， and ATT was analyzed. ResultPearson correlation analysis showed that serum TC （r = 0.811）， TG （r = 0.826）， LDL-C （r = 0.802）， ApoB （r = 0.820）， ALT （r = 0.497）， ALT/AST （r = 0.826）， TCM syndrome score （r = 0.716）， and ATT （r = 0.736） were positively correlated with HSI （P<0.01）， while AST， BA， and GGT had no significant correlation with HSI. TC （r = 0.718）， TG （r = 0.765）， LDL-C （r = 0.667）， ApoB （r = 0.699）， ALT/AST （r = 0.403）， TCM syndrome score （r = 0.666）， and ATT （r = 0.684） were positively correlated with ZJU （P<0.01）. ALT， AST， BA， and GGT had no significant correlation with ZJU. The total effective rate of the observation group was 86.05 （37/43）， and that of the control group was 72.09% （31/43）. The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group （Z = -2.301， P<0.05）. After treatment， the 24-hour urine copper of the two groups increased significantly. The levels of TC， TG， LDL-C， and ApoB were significantly decreased， and the HSI， ZJU， and ATT were significantly decreased （P<0.01）. Compared with those in the control group after treatment， the above indexes improved better in the observation group （P<0.05， P<0.01）. ConclusionGDL can effectively improve the level of copper and lipid metabolism in patients with WD， with high clinical safety and good clinical application value. The prediction model of hepatic steatosis can effectively reflect the degree of abnormal lipid metabolism in WD.
