It is believed that retention due to deficient qi is an important pathogenesis of endometriosis (EMs). Deficient qi is the root of the disease, mainly manifested as spleen deficiency, while retention is the branch pathogenesis of the disease, mainly with blood stasis, complicated with constraint, phlegm, heat, toxin and other pathological factors. Therefore, it is proposed to follow the treatment principle of supplementing deficiency and unblocking stagnation, and take the methods of replenishing qi and fortifying the spleen, removing stasis and eliminating concretions. Self-made Fuzheng Huayu Formula (扶正化瘀方) is taken as the basic formula, and can be modified with the symptoms in menstrual and non-menstrual periods. Additionally, the methods of moving qi, dispelling phlegm, clearing heat, relieving toxin and others can be combined, and it is recommended to treat the root and the branch simultaneously.

【Objective】 To study the annual financial expenditure in blood stations with different scales, and to establish the regression equation between blood collection units and total expenditure. 【Methods】 The annual total expenditure, the per capita cost of serving population, as well as the collection units of whole blood and apheresis platelet of 24 blood stations were collected. The financial expenditure required for collecting 10 000U blood was calculated. The statistical analysis was carried out with SPSS statistical software. 【Results】 From 2017 to 2020, the total annual financial expenditure of 24 blood stations showed an upward trend. The total expenditure among blood stations was different. The per capita cost of servicing population in the areas where the 24 blood stations were located had been increasing year by year. The 24 blood stations were divided into two grades according to the blood collection volume as 50 000 U, and the relationship equation between the blood collection volume and the annual total expenditure had been established. After testing, each equation was effective(P<0.05); There was no difference in the financial expenditure required for collecting 10 000U blood among blood stations with different scales. 【Conclusion】 From 2017 to 2020, the blood stations with an annual collection volume more than 50 000 U demonstrated a higher financial expenditure and the per capita cost of serving population than those <50 000 U. The blood collection volume of blood stations is significantly correlated with the annual total expenditure and the per capita cost of serving population.

Objective To study the association, clinical presentation, and diagnosis and treatment of bile duct cancer as a late complication of biliary-enteric anastomoses for benign diseases. Methods A retrospective study was carried out on 5 patients and the medical literature was reviewed. Results They were 3 males and 2 females. The average age was ( 66. 0 ± 0. 7 ) years. The average time period was ( 14. 0 ± 6. 1 ) years after biliary-enteric anastomosis. The clinical presentations included right upper quadrant pain, fever, chills and jaundice. CA19-9, CT and MRI were valuable in diagnosis. There were two patients with distal and three patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinomas (type IIIa, n=2, and type IV, n=1). Local resection with lymphadenectomy was carried out in one patient. Another patient underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. The remaining three patients only underwent percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage ( PTCD). The 2 patients who underwent surgery died of progressive tumor disease at 8 and 13 months postoperatively. The other three patients who underwent palliative biliary drainage died within 6 months of PTCD. There was no significant difference between the two types of treatment ( P >0. 05). Conclusions Chronic cholangitis caused by reflux and bacterial infection was properly a predisposing factor leading to late development of bile duct cancer after biliary-enteric anastomosis for benign diseases. Patients treated with biliary-enteric anastomosis should be closely monitored for late development of cholangiocarcinoma. Some procedures such as choledochoduodenostomy and jejunum interposition choledochoduodenostomy should be abandoned because of their poor outcomes and severe complications. Proper indications of biliary-enteric anastomosis should strictly be followed and the Oddi's sphincter should be protected if possible to prevent late development of bile duct cancer.

To investigate the effects of short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)on oxidative stress and inflammation in cultured glomerular mesangial cells(GMCs)under high glucose.SV-40 MES 13 mouse GMCs were exposed to 30 mmol/L glucose, exogenous SCFAs or their specific G-protein coupled receptor 43(GPR43)agonist were used individually as an intervention.GPR43 expression was suppressed by transfection with GPR43-specifc siRNA.The oxidative stress-related factors reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde were detected and the expression of GPR43,monocyte chemotactic protein 1(MCP-1),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were observed.GPR43 expression were significantly down-regulated,but reactive oxygen species and malondialdehyde production and MCP-1 and IL-1β releases were induced by high glucose(all P<0.05),treatment with SCFAs or GPR43 agonist reversed high glucose-induced oxidative stress and inflammation in a dose-dependent manner(all P<0.05).However, these SCFAs-mediated effects were blunted by siRNA-mediated knockdown GPR43(all P<0.05).SCFAs mitigates high glucose-induced oxidative stress and inflammatory injury in part via GPR43 signaling pathway, suggesting a likely mechanism for SCFAs-induced therapeutic effect in diabetic kidney disease.
