Objective:
To explore the dynamic association and gender difference among body dissatisfaction, weight bias internalization and eating disorders in junior high school students, so as to provide the reference for the rational implementation of relevant intervention activitites.
Methods:
From June to December 2023, a cluster sampling method was used to select 698 students from a middle school in Fuzhou for three followup surveys for a period of 6 months (T1:June 2023, T2:September 2023, T3:December 2023). The Eating Disorders Inventory-Body Dissatisfaction (EDI-BD), the Chinese Version of the Weight Bias Internalization Scale for Mainland Chinese Children and Adolescents (C-WBIS), and the Chinese Version of the Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire (C-EDE-QS) were used for investigation. Analysis of variance, t test, Pearson correlation analysis and crosslagged analysis were used for statistical analysis.
Results:
T1 there were statistically significant differences in body dissatisfaction scores among junior high school students of different grades and with or without leftbehind experience (t=-3.25, 2.12, P<0.05). There were statistically significant differences in weight bias internalization (t=-3.03, -2.43, 2.43) and eating disorders (t=-4.64, -2.04, 2.63) among junior high school students of different genders, grades and with or without leftbehind experience (P<0.05). Crosslagged analysis showed that body dissatisfaction was a predictor of weight bias internalization (βT1-T2=0.22, βT2-T3=0.12) and eating disorders (βT1-T2=0.09, βT2-T3=0.17, P<0.01). Eating disorders could predict body dissatisfaction (βT1-T2=0.15, βT2-T3=0.13) and weight bias internalization (βT1-T2=0.14, βT2-T3=0.23, P<0.01). The mutual predictive effect of body dissatisfaction, weight bias internalization and eating disorders varied with gender. T2 weight bias internalization in girls had a predictive effect on T3 body dissatisfaction (β=0.11). T1 and T2 eating disorders in girls had a predictive effect on T2 and T3 weight bias internalization (βT1-T2=0.26, βT2-T3=0.21) (P<0.01).
Conclusions
Body dissatisfaction, weight bias internalization, and eating disorders of the junior high school students are interconnected. And there is a certain twoway correlation and gender difference between body dissatisfaction, weight bias internalization and eating disorders in junior high school students.

Objective:
To evaluate the effect of Tai Chi and Qigong on patients with lumbar disc herniation (LDH).
Methods:
Relevant data were retrieved from nine English and Chinese databases, including Cochrane Library, PubMed, and Wanfang Data, etc. from inception to June 2024. All published randomized controlled trials assessing the effect of Tai Chi and Qigong on visual analog scale (VAS), Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) score, and other health indicators in participants with LDH compared to usual medical care or other treatments were included. Grey literature, trials involving the pushing of hands (Tui Shou) or Tai Chi with weapons, and trials with co-interventions (Tai Chi/Qigong plus another treatment) were excluded. Methodological quality was analyzed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool, and evidence quality was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluations (GRADE) tool.
Results:
Fourteen trials (954 patients) were included in this study. Tai Chi and Qigong were associated with lower VAS pain scores (standardized mean difference −0.55, 95% confidence interval [CI] −0.95 to −0.15, P = .01), higher JOA scores (mean difference [MD] 4.40, 95% CI 2.62 to 6.18, P < .001) and straight leg raise test results (MD 9.40°, 95% CI 7.64 to 11.15, P < .001) in patients with LDH. Furthermore, compared with usual care, Tai Chi and Qigong showed enhanced effects on pain and JOA scores. When compared to other exercises or massage, the effect on pain scores was similar but that on JOA scores was significant.
Conclusions
Tai Chi and Qigong may have favorable effects on VAS pain and JOA scores compared with usual care, and on JOA scores compared with other exercises or massage in patients with LDH. Given the overall poor quality of the evidence, the results of current study should be interpreted cautiously.

Objective:To analyze the effects of radiotherapy on the onset and progression of mastoiditis in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and to explore the risk factors for the onset of mastoiditis after radiotherapy. Methods:The onset and progression of mastoiditis of 204 NPC patients 3, 12, and 24 months after radiotherapy were analyzed based on MRI images. The multi-factor logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the risk factors of the onset of mastoiditis after radiotherapy. The cross-sectional area of the tensor veli palatini muscle was measured and the relationship between the atrophy degrees of the tensor veli palatini muscle and the onset of mastoiditis was analyzed. Results:The incidence of mastoiditis before radiotherapy was 20.6% (84/408, ears), and was 41.1% (168/408, ears), 22.3% (91/408, ears), and 19.6% (80/408, ears), respectively 3, 12, and 24 months after radiotherapy. The incidence of radiotherapy-induced mastoiditis was 35.8% (116/324, ears), 18.2% (59/324, ears), and 16.4% (53/324, ears), respectively 3, 12, and 24 months after radiotherapy. The remission rate of 63 patients (83 ears) who developed mastoiditis 3 months after radiotherapy was 63.9% (53/83, ears) and 75.9% (63/83, ears), respectively 12 and 24 months after radiotherapy. The remission rate of 54 patients (60 ears) who suffered mastoiditis before radiotherapy was 43.3% (26/60, ears), 65.0% (39/60, ears), and 73.3% (44/60, ears) 3, 12, and 24 months after radiotherapy. The multivariate analysis showed that the independent risk factors for radiotherapy-induced mastoiditis included age ≥50, clinical stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ, radiotherapy dose > 70 Gy, and tumors invading pharyngeal ostium of the eustachian tube. In addition, the atrophy degree of tensor veli palatini muscle 12 and 24 months after radiotherapy correlated with the onset of mastoiditis. Conclusions:The incidence of mastoiditis significantly increased 3 months after radiotherapy and significantly decreased 12 months after radiotherapy for NPC patients. The natural remission rate of radiotherapy-induced mastoiditis 12 months after radiotherapy was over 70%. The independent risk factors for radiotherapy-induced mastoiditis include age ≥50, clinical stages Ⅲ-Ⅳ, radiotherapy dose >70 Gy, and tumor invading pharyngeal ostium of the eustachian tube. The atrophy degree of the tensor veli palatini muscle 12 and 24 months after radiotherapy correlates with the onset of mastoiditis.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has become one of the most prominent causes of chronic liver diseases and malignancies. However, few therapy has been approved. Radix Bupleuri (RB) is the most frequently used herbal medicine for the treatment of liver diseases. In the current study, we aim to systemically evaluate the therapeutic effects of saikosaponin A (SSa) and saikosaponin D (SSd), the major bioactive monomers in RB, against NAFLD and to investigate the underlying mechanisms. Our results demonstrated that both SSa and SSd improved diet-induced NAFLD. Integrative lipidomic and transcriptomic analysis revealed that SSa and SSd modulated glycerolipid metabolism by regulating related genes, like

Objective:To explore the application of home nutrition support in children with intestinal failure. Methods:Children with intestinal failure admitted to Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition and Department of Pediatric Surgery in Xinhua Hospital were retrospectively enrolled since January 2009. The details of home nutrition support, nutritional status and home parenteral nutrition (HPN) associated complications were collected. Results:A total of 10 children received HPN support, 7 of whom were with short bowel syndrome (SBS) and the other 3 with pediatric intestinal pseudo-obstruction. The average length of remnant small bowel in 7 SBS children was (36.7±32.4) cm. The average age at HPN onset was (5.4±4.7) years. The average duration of follow-up was (3.1±2.1) years. The average duration of HPN was (619.5±669.1) days after (391.8±340.1) days of parenteral nutrition support in our hospital. All 10 cases started home enteral nutrition (HEN) with tube feeding (3 cases transited to oral feeding during treatment). The average duration of HEN was (536.1±429.6) days. Daily calorie intake was 104.0%±39.0% of the recommended intake according to the guideline, with 46.5%±21.3% via HPN and 57.5%±29.2% via HEN. During follow-up, 3 cases were found with severe malnutrition, 5 with moderate malnutrition and 2 with mild malnutrition. Four children suffered from catheter-related thrombosis and five children were identified with catheter-related blood stream infection. No intestinal failure associated liver disease was observed. Conclusions:HPN is feasible but needs the support of national medical insurance policy. At present, there are still frequent nutritional deficiencies and complications in HPN. Nutrition support team (NST) should provide guidance for more scientific nutrition screening and nutrition management.

Chinese Critical Care Medicine 2020;32(2):243-244
Norepinephrine (NE) can raise blood pressure and speed up heart rate. However, because its effect of raising heart rate is less than that of reflex reduction of heart rate caused by the increase of blood pressure, NE causes more heart rate decrease in patients. A case of tachyarrhythmia caused by low dose NE was admitted to department of intensive care unit (ICU) of Shijiazhuang Third Hospital. The heart rate of the patient increased with the elevation of NE application dose. A variety of antiarrhythmic drugs was invalid. The related examination was prescribed to eliminate the cause of arrhythmia caused by the disorder of electrolysis and thyroid function, and found that heart rate decreased as the dose of NE tapered. After NE was stopped, the patient recovered sinus rhythm. During one month of follow-up, the patient's heart rhythm was normal. Therefore, the occurrence of tachyarrhythmia is related to NE.

OBJECTIVE To explor e the characteristics of spectral oscillatory power of resting-state electroencephalography(EEG) in subjective tinnitus patients and to lay the foundation for study of central mechanism of tinnitus.METHODS 31 subjects(15 subjects with subjective tinnitus and 16 age matching healthy subjects) underwent a 128-channel resting-state EEG analyses. After a series of preprocessing, data were segmented into 8 frequency bands, including δ(0.5~3.5 Hz), θ(4~7.5 Hz), α1(8~10 Hz), α2(10~12 Hz), β1(13~18 Hz), β2(18.5~21 Hz), β3(21.5~30 Hz) and γ(30.5~44 Hz). The group differences of spectral power were analyzed by independent t test. Correlation between spectral power of each frequency band and tinnitus subjective symptoms were also analyzed. RESULTS Significant higher spectral power of the α1, β and γ bandwere found in the left and right temporal areas of tinnitus group compared with that of normal group.Tinnitus subjects also had higher spectral powerof the δ and θ band in temporo-parietal areas than that of the normal group. There was no significant difference of spectral power in other frequency bands. Moreover, signif icant positive cor relation were found between tinnitus loudness and spectralpower of right anterior lateral(R=0.66, P =0.007) and right anterior medial(R=0.58, P =0.031) areas. CONCLUSION Tinnitus subjects have higher spectral oscillatory power on right and left temporal lobe and temporo-parietal area. A positive correlation exsit between tinnitus loudness andspectral power of right anterior lateral and medial areas in tinnitus subjects, whichindicate that central reorganizationexsit in tinnitus reorganization andγ band maybe considered as a possible biomarkerforthe tinnitus subjective symptom.
