BackgroundThe issue of school absenteeism due to school refusal in adolescents has become increasingly prominent. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been applied successfully to improve depression, anxiety, and psychological flexibility in adolescents, while few studies have tested the effect of ACT intervention on above-mentioned psychological aspects and return-to-school rate in adolescents with school absenteeism. ObjectiveTo explore the effect of ACT on depression, anxiety, psychological flexibility and return-to-school rate in school absenteeism adolescents, and to provide a broader evidence base for clinical interventions. MethodsFrom May to June 2024, a sample of 50 adolescents with Shenzhen school registration who had been suspended from school for more than a consecutive month for school refusal were recruited based on Wechat official account platform. The adolescents were divided into study group and control group by random number table method. Both groups received psychological education with the theme of 'Causes and Coping Strategies of School Refusal', and study group added a 6-week ACT intervention with weekly 1-hour sessions. At baseline and after treatment, Patients’ Health Questionnaire Depression Scale-9 item (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7 item (GAD-7) and Comprehensive assessment of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy processes (CompACT) were used for the clinical evaluation. ResultsA total of 45 (90.00%)adolescents completed the study, including 25 in study group and 20 in control group. Analysis revealed that study group scored higher on PHQ-9 and GAD-7, while lower on total CompACT score, openness dimension and awareness dimension compared with control group, with statistical significance (F=7.786, 10.334, 12.922, 14.374, 3.075, P<0.05 or 0.01). After intervention, the rate of return-to-school was higher in study group than in control group (40.00% vs 10.00%, χ²=5.114, P<0.05). ConclusionACT intervention for adolescents with school absenteeism may alleviate depression and anxiety, improve their psychological flexibility and increase return-to-school rate.[Funded by the "14th Five Year Plan" for Social Sciences Project in Jiangxi Province (number, 24JY41D); Science and Technology Planning Project of Shenzhen Municipality (number, 20210617155253001)]

Objective:Based on the holistic view of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and the characteristics of syndrome differentiation and treatment, methods of distance clustering and distance clustering combined with pseudo-bit clear(BIC) criteria are adopted in this study to simulate the doctor's clinical prescription process, and excavate a clinician's core prescription for the treatment of a specific disease. Method:In this study, it was believed that the clinical prescriptions of TCM can be divided into the core prescription for the treatment of the main syndrome and the addition and subtraction part of the medication for the concurrent syndrome. The hospital information system (HIS)was used to export the medical records of specific diseases, and then the methods of distance clustering and distance clustering combined with pseudo-BIC criteria were adopted to analyze professor WANG Jun-hong's 103 prescriptions for the treatment of Qi and Yin deficiency type of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD). The core prescriptions were screened by finding the optimal balance between the number of herbs and the proportion of population using the herbs. Result:Test4 consisted of 15 herbs such as Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma,Crataegi Fructus,Lycii Fructus,Gall1 Gigerii Endothelium Corneum, and Pseudostellariae Radix were selected as the core prescription. In analysis by TCM theory and confirmation by professor WANG Jun-hong, it was proved to meet the characteristics of TCM treatment for ADHD. Conclusion:Combination of distance clustering with pseudo-BIC criteria method can effectively sort and screen the core clinical prescriptions of TCM,and compared with the current core prescription screening methods,it is characterized by conforming to the doctor's clinical prescription process. This research is helpful to provide certain support for inheriting the experience from famous TCM doctors and for the development of new Chinese medicines.

Objective:To explore the clinical application value of sound touch elastography (STE) in the evaluation of the curative effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of stroke patients with upper limb spasm.Methods:Fifty-five patients with upper limb spasm after stroke were selected as stroke group, and thirty healthy volunteers matched with age, gender and body mass index (BMI) were selected as control group between September 2020 and March 2021. The shear wave velocity (SWV) of biceps brachii and triceps brachii were measured in both groups. In stroke group, the SWVs of biceps brachii and triceps brachii on spastic side and non-spastic side were measured before and after acupuncture treatment, and the correlations between SWV and spastic grade (X), muscle response angle (R1), passive range of motion (R2), spastic angle (R2-R1) of modified Tardieu scale (MTS) were analyzed. Results:At 0 degree, the SWV of spastic biceps brachii (3.85±0.62)m/s was significantly higher than those of the non-spastic side [(3.34±0.35)m/s] and control group [(3.15±2.66)m/s] (all P<0.001), and decreased [ (3.45±0.47)m/s] after acupuncture treatment ( P<0.001). At 90 degree, the SWV of non-spastic biceps brachii was larger than those of spastic side and control group [1.98(1.92, 2.14)m/s vs 1.98(1.92, 2.11) m/s, 1.95(1.86, 2.05)m/s, all P<0.05], and there was no significant difference between the SWV of spastic side and control group ( P>0.05). There were no significant differences in SWV of triceps brachii between the spastic side and control group at both 0 degree or 90 degree ( P>0.05). At 0 degree, SWV positively correlated with MTS (x) ( rs=0.639, P<0.001) and negatively with R1 ( rs=-0.527, P<0.001) and R2 ( rs=-0.825, P<0.001) on the spastic biceps brachii. Conclusions:STE can provide quantitative index for the objective evaluation of the curative effect of acupuncture in upper limb spasm after stroke, and it is proposed to be an effective means of clinical diagnosis and efficacy evaluation in patients with upper limb spasm after stroke.

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a common bloody disease with a high incidence in children, but its diagnostic method is exclusive diagnosis, and the existing detection techniques are mostly invasive, which may cause secondary injury to patients and also may increase the risk of disease. In order to make up for the lack of the detection method, this study made a preliminary exploration on the diagnosis of children's ITP from the perspective of infrared thermography. In this study, a total of 11 healthy children and 22 ITP children's frontal infrared thermal images were collected, and the pattern characteristic (PFD), average temperature (Troi) and maximum temperature (MAX) characteristics of 7 target areas were extracted. The weighted PFD parameters were correlated with the platelet count commonly used in clinical diagnosis, and the sensitivity and specificity of the weighted PFD parameters for children's ITP were calculated through the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC). The final results showed that the difference of the weighted PFD parameters between healthy children and ITP children was statistically significant, and the parameters negatively correlated with platelet count. Under the ROC curve, the area under the curve (AUC) of this parameter is as high as 92.1%. Based on the research results of this paper, infrared thermography can clearly show the difference between ITP children and healthy children. It is hoped that the methods proposed in this paper can non-invasively and objectively describe the characteristics of ITP infrared thermal imaging of children, and provide a new ideas for ITP diagnosis.

Aim To construct eukaryotic expressing plasmid of hi FGF2 ( high molecular weight isoform fi-broblast growth factor-2,hi FGF2) gene and to investi-gate its effect on apoptosis after its overexpression in HEK293 cells. Methods The DNA template primer was designed and synthesized. The pDsRed1-N1 plas-mids were digested by the restriction enzymes of Nhel and Hind III. The hi FGF2 was ligated with linearized pDsRed1-N1 by T4 DNA Ligase. The recombinant plasmid was identified by endonuclease digestion and sequenced. The recombinant hi FGF2 plasmid was transient transfected into HEK293 cells by Lipofectami-neTM 2000 Reagent. The transfection efficiency was de-tected by fluorescence inversion microscope. The cell apoptosis was detected by Annexin V-FITC/PI apopto-sis detection kit with flow cytometry analysis. Results The pDsRed1-N1 eukaryotic expression vector was consistent with the design. The recombinant hi FGF2 plasmid was transfected in HEK293 cells. The trans-fection rate was more than 70%. The FITC/PI dyeing rate in hi-FGF2 over-expression HEK297 cells was a-bout ( 29. 12 ± 2. 81 )%. Conclusions pDsRed1-N1 eukaryotic expression vector is successfully constructed and transfected into HEK293 cells. Over-expression of hi FGF2 induces cell apoptosis.
7.A leukocyte pattern recognition based on feature fusion in multi-color space.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(5):909-913
To solve the ineffective problem of leukocytes classification based on multi-feature fusion in a single color space, we proposed an automatic leukocyte pattern recognition by means of feature fusion with color histogram and texture granular in multi-color space. The interactive performance of three color spaces (RGB, HSV and Lab), two features (color histogram and texture granular) and four similarity measured distance metrics (normalized intersection, Euclidean distance, chi2-metric distance and Mahalanobis distance) were discussed. The optimized classification modes of high precision, extensive universality and low cost to different leukocyte types were obtained respectively, and then the recognition system of tree-integration of the optimized modes was established. The experimental results proved that the performance of the fusion classification was improved by 12.3% at least.

8.Research on compatibility of prescription of TCP based on the principle of attribute hierarchical graph.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(4):719-723
On the basis of the theory of formal concept analysis (FCA), a new method for generation of an attribute hierarchical graph is proposed in this paper. This method can solve the problems of how to mine and express classification knowledge and rules in compatibility of prescription. In this paper, we view prescriptions as objects that possess certain attributes of the named drugs. First, the formal context is established based on theory. Then optimization of the original formal context and extracts the connotation and extension of the concept are followed, constructing attribute hierarchical graph. Finally, useful knowledge from the hierarchical diagram of attributes based on the way of knowledge representation is mined. The result showed that the method for discovering Traditional Chinese Prescription (TCP) diagnostic knowledge is feasible and effectual for small samples. The research of large samples is 13th open question of FCA. It is an international subject to be studied urgently.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(1):34-38
Facial paralysis is a frequently-occurring disease, which causes the loss of the voluntary muscles on one side of the face due to the damages the facial nerve and results in an inability to close the eye and leads to dropping of the angle of the mouth. There have been few objective methods to quantitatively diagnose it and assess this disease for clinically treating the patients so far. The skin temperature distribution of a healthy human body exhibits a contralateral symmetry. Facial paralysis usually causes an alteration of the temperature distribution of body with the disease. This paper presents the use of the histogram distance of bilateral local binary pattern (LBP) in the facial infrared thermography to measure the asymmetry degree of facial temperature distribution for objective assessing the severity of facial paralysis. Using this new method, we performed a controlled trial to assess the facial nerve function of the healthy subjects and the patients with Bell's palsy respectively. The results showed that the mean sensitivity and specificity of this method are 0.86 and 0.89 respectively. The correlation coefficient between the asymmetry degree of facial temperature distribution and the severity of facial paralysis is an average of 0.657. Therefore, the histogram distance of local binary pattern in the facial infrared thermography is an efficient clinical indicator with respect to the diagnosis and assessment of facial paralysis.
