Pancreatic cancer induced by mutation KRAS exhibited a higher risk of incidence, recurrence and mortality. C-Myc is downstream of KRAS and can be involved in the regulation of multiple oncogenic pathways and signaling pathways in pancreatic cancer. Over expressing of C-Myc promotes glycolysis and glutamine uptake in pancreatic cancer cells, promotes cell metabolism and proliferation, is an important factor driving the progress and maintenance of pancreatic cancer, and is related to chemotherapy and immunotherapy drug resistance. C-Myc also interacts with cell cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK) and non-coding RNA to regulate the proliferation, development and metastasis of pancreatic cancer. Therefore, targeting C-Myc was regarded as an effective strategy for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. The activation of C-Myc depends on heterodimerization with its partner MAX and thereby paly a role through binding to the canonical E-Box sequence 5’-CACGTG-3’. Researches showed direct targeting of C-Myc can inhibit the growth of pancreatic carcinoma, such as promoting the degradation of C-Myc, inhibiting the binding of C-Myc/MAX and blocking the binding of C-Myc/MAX to E-box. However, direct targeting has been proved challenging because of its special protein structure. Indirect targeting of C-Myc provided a new strategy for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. C-Myc can be indirected targeting through inhibiting transcription and translation of C-Myc, C-Myc-MAX heterodimerization and promote the ubiquitination and degradation of C-Myc, thus affects the occurrence, development and metastasis of pancreatic cancer.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of the implementation of Beijing Smoking Control Regulation in 2015 on the smoking prevalence in people aged ≥15 years in Beijing during 2014-2021, and explore factors associated with tobacco use behavior in local population. Methods Using a pooled cross-sectional design, data from Beijing Adult Tobacco Survey in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2021 (4 surveys) were combined into one dataset. The 4 surveys used same multistage cluster sampling procedure. After complex survey weighting, multiple logistic regression models were constructed to analyze factors influencing smoking status. Results:A total of 8 484, 9 372, 8 534 and 10 551 respondents were included in the surveys in 2014, 2016, 2019 and 2021, respectively. The smoking prevalence rate was 23.4%, 22.3%, 20.3% and 19.9%, respectively, in Beijing residents aged ≥15 years, exhibiting a linear declining trend ( P=0.010). Factors associated with current smoking in men were age 25-44 years ( OR=2.22, 95% CI: 1.68-2.95) and 45-64 years, ( OR=2.64, 95% CI: 2.06-3.39), educational level of high school ( OR=0.69, 95% CI: 0.49-0.95) and undergraduate and above ( OR=0.46, 95% CI: 0.33-0.63), and awareness of smoking causing stroke ( OR=0.71, 95% CI: 0.61-0.81), and awareness of smoking causing lung cancer ( OR=0.53, 95% CI: 0.42-0.66), the differences were significant (all P<0.05). After controlling interfering factors, the current smoking prevalence in men in 2019 ( OR=0.73, 95% CI: 0.63-0.87, P<0.001) and 2021 ( OR=0.72, 95% CI: 0.61-0.88, P<0.001) were significantly lower than that in 2014. Factors associated with current smoking in women were living alone ( OR=1.80, 95% CI: 1.33-2.44), educational level of undergraduate and above ( OR=0.43, 95% CI: 0.27-0.69), other occupations except doctor and teacher ( OR=8.54, 95% CI: 2.80-26.02) or being retired/unemployed ( OR=9.39, 95% CI: 3.19-27.65), and awareness of smoking causing cardiovascular events ( OR=0.58, 95% CI: 0.39-0.84), and awareness of smoking causing lung cancer ( OR=0.54, 95% CI: 0.35-0.83), the differences were significant (all P<0.05). No significant change in smoking status in women was found in 4 surveys. Conclusions:The smoking prevalence rate in men in Beijing has declined since the implementation of Beijing Smoking Control Regulation 5 years, indicating the effectiveness of legislative approach in tobacco control. Socio-demographic factors and the awareness level of tobacco harm could influence smoking status. Future tobacco control programs should target the people with lower education level, young men, women living alone, and those with occupations other than teachers/doctors or the unemployed/retired and include more comprehensive health education.

Chinese Journal of Health Management 2022;16(5):337-342
Objective:To explore the hotspots of the public concerns about quitting smoking before and during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods:The monthly search index data of four key words, “the harm of smoking”,“quitting smoking”,“passive smoking” and “electronic cigarette” before the COVID-19 (from January, 2016 to December, 2019) and during the COVID-19 (from January, 2020 to December, 2020) pandemic were manually collected from the Baidu Index platform. The one-way ANOVA was used to compare the differences among annual search indexes of four keywords. The linear regression model was used to test the annual linear trend of search index of each keyword before the COVID-19, and the one-sample t-test was used to analyze the differences of the search indexes during the COVID-19 and the means before the COVID-19. Results:During 2016—2020, the annual average search index of “electronic cigarette” was the highest (1.465 million), followed by “the harm of smoking” (0.884 million) and “quitting smoking” (0.780 million), while “passive smoking” was the lowest (0.171 million). Before the COVID-19 (2016—2019), the search index of each keyword had positive cumulative growth, but there was no significant linear trend of annual change ( P>0.05). During the COVID-19 period (2020), the search index of “the harm of smoking” decreased significantly (0.794 million vs 0.907 million, P=0.011), and “quitting smoking” (0.591 million vs 0.827 million, P=0.172) and “passive smoking” (0.164 million vs 0.172 million, P=0.257) showed a downward trend, while the search index of “electronic cigarettes” bucked the trend and increased significantly (1.825 million vs 1.375 million, P=0.010). Conclusions:The public′s online attention to “electronic cigarette” increases dramatically during COVID-19 along with other information about quitting smoking decreases. There are urgent needs for strengthening regulation and monitoring of electronic cigarettes and carrying out more effective publicity of scientific methods to help quit smoking.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2022;38(8):2798-2810
Multicellular network analysis is a method for topological properties analysis of cells. The functions of organs are determined by their inner cells. The arrangement of cells within organs endows higher-order functionality through a structure-function relationship, though the organizational properties of these multicellular configurations remain poorly understood. Multicellular network analysis with multicellular models established by 3D scanning of plants, will further discover the plant development mechanism, and provide clues for synthesizing plant multicellular systems. In this paper, we review the development of multicellular models, summarize the process of multicellular network analysis, and describe the development and application of multicellular network analysis in plants. In addition, this review also provides perspective on future development of plant multicellular network analysis.
