Background: Developing and validating a modified parameter, the SYS-G angle (the angle between the lower endplate of the C2 and the upper endplate of C7 vertebrae), as a feasible substitute for the C2–C7 Cobb method in assessing cervical sagittal alignment and exploring its reference range through a large-scale retrospective study. Methods: The visibility of the C6, C7 upper, and C7 lower endplates was graded and compared. Baseline data such as height, weight, body mass index (BMI), age, and sex were analyzed for their impact on the visibility of the C7 lower endplate. Values of C2-6 Cobb angle, SYS-G angle, and C2-7 Cobb angle were measured. The intra- and interobserver reliability, differences, and efficacy of evaluation on cervical lordosis of the parameters were compared, and the correlations among the parameters were analyzed. Furthermore, reference ranges for the SYS-G angle were established based on lateral cervical spine x-rays of 825 asymptomatic Chinese adults across different age groups and sexes. Results: The visibility of the C7 lower endplates was significantly reduced compared to the C6 lower and C7 upper endplates.Age, weight, BMI, and male sex were identified as factors negatively influencing the visibility of the C7 lower endplate. Both intraobserver and interobserver reliability demonstrated excellence for all tested parameters. The linear regression model unveiled a stronger association of the SYS-G angle with the C2-7 Cobb angle compared to the C2-6 Cobb angle. Furthermore, the SYS-G angle exhibited excellent efficacy in evaluating cervical lordosis. Age displayed a positive correlation with the SYS-G angle, and across every age bracket from 20 to 69 years, men exhibited a higher mean SYS-G angle compared to women. Conclusions The visibility of the C7 lower endplate diminishes with increasing age, weight, BMI, and male sex. In cases where the C7 lower endplate is unclear, the SYS-G angle emerges as a reliable method for estimating cervical sagittal morphology. BACKGROUND: The application of programmed cell death 1 (PD-1)/programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) antibodies has greatly improved the clinical outcomes of lung cancer patients. Here, we retrospectively analyzed the efficacy of PD-1 antibody therapy in locally advanced non-surgical or metastatic lung cancer patients, and preliminarily explored the correlation between peripheral blood biomarkers and clinical responses. METHODS: We conducted a single center study that included 61 IIIA-IV lung cancer patients who received PD-1 antibody treatment from March 2020 to December 2021, and collected the medical record data on PD-1 antibody first-line or second-line treatment. The levels of multiple Th1 and Th2 cytokines in the patient's peripheral blood serum, as well as the phenotype of peripheral blood T cells, were detected and analyzed. RESULTS: All the patients completed at least 2 cycles of PD-1 monoclonal antibody treatment. Among them, 42 patients (68.9%) achieved partial response (PR); 7 patients (11.5%) had stable disease (SD); and 12 patients (19.7%) had progressive disease (PD). The levels of peripheral blood interferon gamma (IFN-γ) (P=0.023), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) (P=0.007) and interleukin 5 (IL-5) (P=0.002) before treatment were higher in patients of the disease control rate (DCR) (PR+SD) group than in the PD group. In addition, the decrease in absolute peripheral blood lymphocyte count after PD-1 antibody treatment was associated with disease progression (P=0.023). Moreover, the levels of IL-5 (P=0.0027) and IL-10 (P=0.0208) in the blood serum after immunotherapy were significantly increased compared to baseline. CONCLUSIONS Peripheral blood serum IFN-γ, TNF-α and IL-5 in lung cancer patients have certain roles in predicting the clinical efficacy of anti-PD-1 therapy. The decrease in absolute peripheral blood lymphocyte count in lung cancer patients is related to disease progression, but large-scale prospective studies are needed to further elucidate the value of these biomarkers.

The biological clock(also known as the circadian rhythm)is the fundamental reliance for all organisms on Earth to adapt and survive in the Earth's rotation environment.Circadian rhythm is the most basic regulatory mechanism of life activities,and plays a key role in maintaining normal physiological and biochemical homeostasis,disease occurrence and treatment.Recent studies have shown that the biologi-cal clock plays an important role in the development of oral tissues and in the occurrence and treatment of oral diseases.Since there is cur-rently no guiding literature on the research methods of biological clock in stomatology,researchers mainly conduct research based on pub-lished references,which has led to controversy about the research methods of biological clock in stomatology,and there are many confusions about how to rationally apply the research methods of circadia rhythms.In view of this,this expert consensus summarizes the characteristics of the biological clock and analyzes the shortcomings of the current biological clock research in stomatology,and organizes relevant experts to summarize and recommend 10 principles as a reference for the rational implementation of the biological clock in stomatology research.

Objective:To conduct exploratory practical research on rehabilitation therapy internship education in the context of community elderly health education.Methods:The students majoring in rehabilitation therapy technology became the teachers to provide health education and health services for the elderly in the community,to meet their needs for health education knowledge.Students acquired rehabilitation skills,medical practice,and humanistic care in health education teaching.Feedback information on educational practice evaluation was collected from both community elderly people and internship students through satisfaction questionnaire.Result:The educational practice basically achieved the expected results,and received full recognition and good evaluation from the elderly in the community and the internship students.Conclusion:This educational practice research shows that the integration of community elderly health education scenarios into rehabilitation therapy professional internship education had positive significance in alleviating the shortage of teachers in community elderly health education and expanding the channels for rehabilitation therapy professional internship education,and can be a useful supplement to rehabilitation therapy internship education.

Objective To explore the photodynamic treatment method and therapeutic effect of oral verrucous carci-noma and to provide a reference for the clinic.Methods This study follows the requirements of medical ethics.This paper summarized the photodynamic treatment of an oral verrucous carcinoma with a diameter of approximately 2.5 cm in the right buccal mucosa and retrospectively analyzed the characteristics and treatment of oral verrucous carcinoma and the photodynamic treatment of potential malignant lesions of the oral mucosa through a review of the literature.Results After four rounds of photodynamic therapy,the size of the right buccal lesion was significantly reduced.After 6 months of follow-up,the white verrucous hyperplasia of the right buccal mucosa had completely subsided,and there was no obvious scar formation.Three years after treatment,there was no recurrence of the lesion in the right buccal mu-cosa and no obvious scar formation in the treated area.The degree of mouth opening was 3 fingers,and there was no lymph node enlargement in the bilateral submandibular,submental or neck.The literature review shows that oral verru-cous carcinoma is a rare subtype of squamous cell carcinoma with the characteristics and biological behaviors of slow growth,low malignancy,and rare metastasis.Surgery is the preferred treatment,but there are some limitations.Photody-namic therapy is a minimally invasive,repeatable treatment with mild adverse reactions.In recent years,photodynamic therapy has been gradually applied for the treatment of potential malignant disorders of the oral mucosa and early oral squamous cell carcinoma and has achieved positive results,but it has not been reported for the treatment of oral verru-cous cancer.Conclusion Photodynamic therapy is a new option for nonsurgical resection of oral verrucous carcinoma.

Objective To establish a HS-GC test method for the determination of enflurane,isoflurane,diflurane,sevoflurane and its metabolite hexafluoroisopropanol(HFIP)in blood,and to establish a LC-MS/MS method for the determination of trifluoroacetic acid(TFA),the co-metabolite of enflurane,isoflurane,and deflurane in blood.Methods Place 0.5 mL blood sample in a 10 mL headspace bottle,add 1.0 mL ultrapure water to mix,then add 0.5 mL n-butanol internal standard solution,sealed and heated at 70℃for 20 min,take the upper layer of gas for HS-GC analysis,qualitatived by dual-column retention time and quantified by the internal standard curve;Blood sample was acetonitrile precipitated protein,separated by liquid chromatography,scanned with electrospray ionization(ESI),negative ion mode,and examined in multiple reaction monitoring mode(MRM),qualitatived by retention time and characteristic ions,quantified by standard curve.Results The detection limits(LOD)of enflurane,isoflurane,desflurane,heptaflurane,HFIP and TFA are 0.05,0.2,0.5,0.05,0.5 μg/mL and 0.5 ng/mL,and linear range as 1～100 μg/mL(TFA:1～100 ng/mL),with correlation coefficients greater than 0.999.The extraction recovery rate is between 30%and 80%,and the intra-day and inter-day precision are less than 5%.The accuracy is between 85%and 115%.Conclusion This method is quick and simple,and can be used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of enflurane,isoflurane,desflurane,sevoflurane and their metabolites in blood.

Redox-sensitive cysteine(RSC)thiol plays an important role in many biological processes such as photosynthesis,cellular metabolism,and transcription.Therefore,it is necessary to identify red-ox-sensitive cysteine accurately.However,traditional redox-sensitive cysteine identification is very ex-pensive and time-consuming.At present,there is an urgent need for a mathematical calculation method to identify sequence information and redox-sensitive cysteines quickly and accurately.Here,we devel-oped an effective predictor called iRSC-PseAAC,which used the dimension reduction algorithm LDA combined with the support vector machine to predict redox-sensitive cysteine sites.In the cross-validation results,the specificity(Sp),sensitivity(Sn),accuracy(Acc)and Matthews correlation coefficient(MCC)were 0.841,0.868,0.859 and 0.692 respectively.In the independent dataset results,the Sp,Sn,Acc and MCC were 0.906,0.882,0.890 and 0.767 respectively.compared with existing prediction methods,iRSC-PseAAC had obvious improvement effect.The method proposed for this study can also be used for many problems in computational proteomics.
