Objective: To investigate effectiveness of different intensities of basketball exercise on body compositions among obese junior middle school students, and to provide theoretical support for healthy weight loss among obese children and adolescents. Methods: From September to November 2020,a typical sampling method was used to select 48 obese junior middle school students were recruited from Wuhan Optical Valley Experimental Middle School according to body mass index(BMI), all the students were divided into high, moderate and low intensity basketball training group, as well as the control group, the 45 min per times basketball exercise intervention was administered three times per week for 12 weeks, while the control group did not received no intervention, body composition was assessed before and after intervention. Results: After 12 weeks of low intensity basketball exercise, the percentage of body fat of obese junior high school students after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention[(32.16±2.26)% v.s. (34.33±2.35)%] ( t =3.52, P <0.05). There was no significant difference in other indexes body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, skeletal musclebetween before and after intervention ( t =2.31, 1.98, 1.26,-1.65, P >0.05). For moderate intensity basketball exercise group obdy weight, BMI, percentage of body fat and waist circumference showed statistical changes before and after intervention( t=3.44, 3.76, 6.56, 2.45, P <0.05). For high intensity basketball exercise group, all body composition indicators showed significant changes( t=4.14, 5.18, 11.26, 5.89, -2.56, P <0.05). Conclusion Twelve weeks of basketball exercise can effectively improve body composition of obese junior middle school students, with higher the intensity of exercise, the better the effectiveness.

[Abstract] Objective: To evaluate the expression level of FOXD1 in glioma tissues of different grades, and to investigate the correlation between the expression of FOXD1 and the prognosis of glioma patients. Methods: The tumor tissues were collected from 40 glioma patients, who received surgical treatment in the neurosurgery department of the First Hospital of China Medical University from September 2014 to February 2015; Seven non-tumor tissues obtained from patients underwent internal decompression for traumatic brain injury were used as controls. The FOXD1 expression in glioma and non-tumor brain tissues was analyzed by qRT-PCR and IHC, and the correlations between clinical pathological features of glioma patients and FOXD1 expression level were analyzed. Furthermore, the Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the relationship between FOXD1 expression and survival time of patients. In addition, the expression of FOXD1 in glioma tissues and its relationship with patients’prognosis were confirmed by the data from GEO (GSE4290, GSE2223) and Rembrandt database. Results: qRT-PCR showed that the FOXD1 mRNA expression in glioma tissues of WHO grade IV was significantly higher than that of non-tumor brain tissues and glioma tissues of WHO grade II (P<0.01). German immunohistochemical score (GIS) was used to evaluate the immunohistochemical staining intensity, and the relationship between FOXD1 expression and clinical pathological features was analyzed. The results showed that FOXD1 in glioma tissues was related to WHO phathological grade level (χ2=11.73， P<0.01). There was statistically significant difference between the survival time of FOXD1 high expression group and FOXD1 low expression group (P=0.043). The data from GEO data base (GSE4290, GSE2223) and Rembrandt datasets showed that glioma tissues have a higher FOXD1 mRNA expression level than normal brain tissues, and the elevated expression of FOXD1 mRNA was negatively associated with the survival time of glioma patients. Conclusion: FOXD1 was highly expressed in glioma tissues, and the expression level of FOXD1 was increased as the pathological grade increases. The elevated expression of FOXD1 was related with the poor survival of glioma patients.

Objective To evaluate the effect of resveratrol on the activity of NADPH oxidase during acute lung injury induced by intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats.Methods Thirty-two pathogenfree healthy female Sprague-Dawley rats,weighing 180-230 g,were divided into 4 groups (n =8 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (Sham group),intestinal I/R group (I/R group),vehicle group (Veh group) and resveratrol group (Res group).Intestinal I/R was produced by occlusion of the superior mesenteric artery for 75 min followed by 4 h of reperfusion.In group Res,resveratrol 15 mg/kg was intraperitoneally injected for 5 consecutive days before establishment of the model and at 15 min before ischemia.The equal volume of vehicle (0.5％ alcohol) was intraperitoneally injected in group Veh.The equal volume of normal saline was intraperitoneally injected in Sham and I/R groups.At the end of reperfusion,the rats were sacrificed and the lung was removed for microscopic examination of pathologic changes which were scored and for determination of wet/dry weight ratio (W/D ratio),malondialdehyde (MDA) content and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity (by colorimetric method) and expression of NADPH oxidase subunits (gp91phox and p47phox) in lung tissues (by Western blot).Results Compared with group Sham,pathologic scores,W/D ratio and MDA content were significantly increased,the expression of gp91phox and p47phox was up-regulated,and the activity of SOD was decreased in I/R and Veh groups (P＜0.05).Compared with I/R and Veh groups,pathologic scores,W/D ratio and MDA content were significantly decreased,the expression of gp91phox and p47phox was down-regulated,and the activity of SOD was increased in group Res (P＜0.05).Conclusion The mechanism by which resveratrol reduces intestinal I/R-induced acute lung injury is related to inhibiting NADPH oxidase-mediated oxidative stress response of rats.

Objective To investigate the relationship between angiotensin 1-converting enzyme(ACE)inserting/defaulting(I/D)gene polymorphisms and the carotid intima-media thickness(CCA-IMT)in patients with type 2 diabetes(T2DM).Methods The polymorphisms of ACE(I/D)was determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)method and the CCA-IMT was assessed using non-invasive high resolution B-mode ultrasonography in 120 T2DM in Han's population of Dongguan city.The data were analyzed by Logistic regression to explore the independent and significant risk factors for CCA-IMT increase in type 2 diabetic patients.Results The DD genotype were significantly more common in diabetic patients with CCA-IMT increase than in those without it(F=10.164,P=0.006);Logistic regression analysis showed that DD genotype,age,male gender and essential hypertension contributed significantly to the CCA-IMT increase in type 2 diabetic patients(OR=3.689,1.054,1.562,respectively,P
