Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and influencing factors of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Hubei province, and to provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of NSCLC patients with COPD. Methods A total of 246 NSCLC patients admitted to our hospital from 2018 to 2020 were selected and divided into control group (without COPD, n=125) and observation group (with COPD, n=121) according to COPD. The clinical characteristics of chest pain, hemoptysis, emasculation, atelectasis and pleural effusion were compared between the two groups. The values of FEV1/FVC, RV/TLC and DLCO in the two groups were measured by pulmonary function detector. The age, gender, smoking, smoking history, proportion of lung squamous cell carcinoma, TNM stage and other clinical data of all subjects were analyzed by self-made survey scale of our hospital. Univariate analysis and logistic regression were used to analyze the risk factors of COPD in NSCLC patients. Results Among 246 NSCLC patients, 121 patients (49.19%) were complicated with COPD, including 76 males and 45 females, and there was a statistical difference between the two groups (χ2=4.891, P>0.05). The average age of the observation group (61.02±4.82) was significantly higher than that of the control group (59.76±4.73) (t=2.069, P<0.05). The proportion of chest pain, hemoptysis, emaciation, atelectasis, pleural effusion and fatigue in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The values of FEV1/FVC, RV/TLC and DLCO in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There were significant differences in smoking history, proportion of lung squamous cell carcinoma and TNM score between the two groups (P>0.05). Male (OR=2.982), smoking history (OR=2.623) and lung squamous cell carcinoma (OR=3.147) were risk factors for COPD in NSCLC patients (P<0.05). Conclusions NSCLC patients with COPD are more common in male smokers in Hubei Province, often accompanied by pleural effusion , severe hemoptysis and other symptoms , and their lung function is decreased. Early detection and standardized treatment of COPD in the treatment of NSCLC can improve the prognosis of patients.

Objective:To investigate the correlation between fat distribution and the composite indices of femoral neck strength in obese postmenopausal women. Methods:A total of 293 postmenopausal women with non-low body weight were selected, laboratory tests, body composition analyzer test and double-energy X-ray absorptiometry scan were performed. Based on the body mass index(BMI), they were divided into three groups, the normal BMI group(18.5 kg/m 2≤BMI<24.0 kg/m 2, n=91), the overweight group(24.0 kg/m 2≤BMI<28.0 kg/m 2, n=115), and the obese group(BMI≥28.0 kg/m 2, n=87). The measurement results were analyzed. Results:In the obese group, bone mineral density(BMD) of all sites was higher than that in the normal BMI group and overweight group( P<0.005), compression strength index(CSI), bending strength index(BSI), and impact strength index(ISI) were significantly lower than those in the normal BMI group( P<0.001, P=0.008, P=0.001). In the obese group, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio, total fat mass, appendicular fat mass, and trunk fat mass were risk factors for CSI, BSI and ISI independent of age, fasting blood glucose, and BMI( P<0.05). Visceral fat grade and Chinese visceral adiposity fat index were the risk factors for CSI, BSI, and ISI( P<0.05). Conclusion:The composite indices of femoral neck strength decreased in obese postmenopausal women, and both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat were negatively associated with the composite indices of femoral neck strength.

Objective To investigate the changes of serum cardiac-specific troponin I (cTnI) level in patients after lung transplantation. Methods Clinical data of patients undergoing lung transplantation in our hospital from December 2016 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The relationship between postoperative serum cTnI level and clinical characteristics were explored. Results Finally 20 patients were collected, including 15 males and 5 females with an average age of (51.65±12.79) years. The serum cTnI level was significantly increased after lung transplantation. The serum cTnI reached the highest level on the first day after transplantation, and significantly decreased from the third day after transplantation. The serum cTnI levels in patients with obstructive pulmonary disease and bilateral lung transplantation were significantly higher than those in patients with restrictive pulmonary disease and unilateral lung transplantation on the day after surgery and on the first day after transplantation. Conclusion Transient myocardial injury can occur after lung transplantation, which is characterized by an abnormal increase in serum cTnI level.

Objective:To study the biological traits and mutations of the influenza A (H3N2) virus in order to produce a vaccine and offer references for controlling and preventing influenza epidemics. Methods:Four strains of the influenza A(H3N2) virus were chosen from the Huai′an surveillance network laboratory. Nucleic acid extraction, library building, and sequencing (CridION x5 MKI Nanopore) were used to produce the whole-genome sequences. Using homologous alignments of whole-genome sequences, phylogenetic tree construction, and amino acid variant screening, bioinformatics analysis was carried out. Results:The nucleotide identity between 8 gene segments ranged from 97.1% to 100.0%. The gene that differed the most from the reference sequences was HA (97.1%-99.9%), and the gene that differed the least was MP (98.6%-99.9%). The HA gene (3.06%) and MP gene (1.43%) were the regions with the greatest and lowest frequencies of nucleotide site change, respectively. The rates of nucleotide change varied significantly between the genes ( χ2=14.293, P=0.046). Four influenza A(H3N2) virus strains′ whole-genome phylogenies from each of the eight gene segments maintained a roughly consistent topological structure. One strain was linked to the 3C.2a1b.1b clade, which was lost at the 142NWT, 149NGT(HA1), and 436NLS(NA). Three strains were linked to the 3C.2a1b.2a.1a clade lineage. Amantadine and NA inhibitors were effective against all Huai′an strains. Conclusions:The antigenicity of one strain of Huai'an strain changed and its matching with the vaccine strain of that year was low. It is suggested that the genetic surveillance of H3N2 influenza virus should be continuously strengthened to provide scientific basis for influenza prevention and control and influenza vaccine screening.

In September 8 th, 2021, a male patient (aged 18 years) with severe destructive injuries of high-voltage electric burns in the head, face, and neck was admitted to General Hospital of Taiyuan Iron Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. Based on the economic theory of flaps, the flap donor site and transplantation method were optimized and evaluated before surgery, and then debridement of head, face, and neck wounds+removal of necrotic skull+free transplantation of super large latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap+thin intermediate thickness skin graft transplantation from the left thigh was performed. The extra large flap donor site wound was sutured directly. This surgery reduced the adverse consequences of the flap donor site on the premise of ensure of repair effect. After operation, the patient's condition was stable, the flap and skin graft survived well, the repair effect of wound was well, the scar in the flap donor area was relatively mild, and the upper limb had no dysfunction.

The density and composition of lymphocytes infiltrating colon tumors serve as predictive factors for the clinical outcome of colon cancer. Our previous studies highlighted the potent anti-cancer properties of the principal compounds found in Garcinia yunnanensis(YTE-17),attributing these effects to the regu-lation of multiple signaling pathways. However, knowledge regarding the mechanism and effect of YTE-17 in the prevention of colorectal cancer is limited. In this study,we conducted isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantification(iTRAQ)analysis on intestinal epithelial cells(IECs)exposed YTE-17,both in vitro and in vivo, revealing a significant inhibition of the Wnt family member 5a(Wnt5a)/c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK)signaling pathway.Subsequently,we elucidated the influence and mechanism of YTE-17 on the tumor microenvironment(TME),specifically focusing on macrophage-mediated T helper 17(Th17)cell induction in a colitis-associated cancer(CAC)model with Wnt5a deletion.Additionally,we performed the single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)on the colonic tissue from the Wnt5a-deleted CAC model to characterize the composition, lineage, and functional status of immune mesenchymal cells during different stages of colorectal cancer(CRC)progression.Remarkably, our findings demon-strate a significant reduction in M2 macrophage polarization and Th17 cell phenotype upon treatment with YTE-17,leading to the restoration of regulatory T(Treg)/Th17 cell balance in azoxymethane(AOM)/dextran sodium sulfate(DSS)model.Furthermore,we also confirmed that YTE-17 effectively inhibited the glycolysis of Th17 cells in both direct and indirect co-culture systems with M2 macrophages.Notably, our study shed light on potential mechanisms linking the non-canonical Wnt5a/JNK signaling pathway and well-established canonical β-catenin oncogenic pathway in vivo.Specifically,we proposed that Wnt5a/JNK signaling activity in IECs promotes the development of cancer stem cells with β-catenin activity within the TME,involving macrophages and T cells. In summary, our study undergoes the po-tential of YTE-17 as a preventive strategy against CRC development by addressing the imbalance with the immune microenvironment, thereby mitigating the risk of malignancies.

Objective:To investigate the clinical features, molecular etiology, and treatment of a family with Treacher Collins Syndrome 2 (TCS2).Methods:Information of the proband (female, 8 years old) including medical history and family history was collected. Physical examination and examinations concerning laboratory, audiology, and radiology were performed on the proband. Physical examination was also performed on the family members. Genomic DNA of proband was extracted for whole exome sequencing, and then the genomic DNA of family members was extracted for Sanger sequencing. POLR1D and TCS2 related literatures published before August 31,2023 were searched and sifted in PubMed and CKNI databases. The clinical characteristics of TCS2 were summarized. Results:The proband had poor hearing since childhood, with pure tone audiometry indicating conductive hearing loss. She had a smaller jaw, bilateral preauricular fistulas and cup-shaped ear deformities. Temporal bone CT scan revealed deformities in the left external ear canal, bilateral middle ear and inner ear. A bone-conduction hearing aid device was surgically implanted, resulting in restoration of almost normal hearing levels. The proband′s mother also had a slightly smaller jaw. Genetic analysis revealed a novel heterozygous variant NM_015972.4:c.38_47del in the POLR1D gene in the proband, which was inherited from her mother. A review of the literature revealed no clear evidence of genotype-phenotype correlation in TCS2. Conclusions:Molecular diagnosis plays a vital role in the diagnosis of TCS2. Patients with normal facial phenotype may be carriers of pathogenic variants in the POLR1D gene and have the risk of passing it to the offsprings with complete penetrance. Proper bone conductive hearing devices can improve the quality of life of TCS2 patients.
