Objective To analyze the layout and shielding effectiveness of medical accelerator vaults, and to provide a reference for the layout, shielding design, and optimization of protection of medical accelerator vaults. Methods Four medical accelerator radiotherapy vaults were selected. The layouts of these vaults were compared with the layout requirements in the radiation therapy protection standards. For each vault, the dose rates at four points of interest outside the shielding were calculated, including the primary shielding area, secondary shielding area, maze outer wall, and lateral shielding area. These values were then compared with the actual measurements obtained using a dose rate meter. Results All four vaults were located on the ground floor of the building and included a maze, with the auxiliary rooms all placed outside the treatment rooms. However, one vault was not located at one end of the building, and in another vault, the control room was exposed to direct irradiation of the useful beam. The calculated dose rates outside the primary shielding area ranged from 0.04 μSv/h to 0.62 μSv/h, while the measured values ranged from 0.10 μSv/h to 0.66 μSv/h, with the measured values being higher than the calculated ones. The calculated dose rates outside the secondary shielding area ranged from

BACKGROUND:Current studies have confirmed that Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides can promote nerve regeneration in neurodegeneration-related diseases. The occurrence of neurodegenerative diseases is closely related to mitochondrial dysfunction, but the role of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides on the regulation of apoptosis and mitochondrial function in neurodegenerative diseases is not yet clarified. OBJECTIVE:To explore the regulatory effects and mechanisms of Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides on apoptosis and mitochondrial dysfunction in H2O2-induced SH-SY5Y cells. METHODS:SH-SY5Y cells were divided into three groups:control group,H2O2 group, and Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides group.Cells in the control group were normally cultured.Cells in the H2O2 group were treated with 300 μmol/L H2O2 for 24 hours. In the Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides group, the intervention with 300 μg/L Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides was conducted first for 1-2 hours, followed by the addition of 300 μmol/L H2O2 for 24 hours. The mitochondrial membrane potential was detected by JC-1 kit.Apoptosis was detected by TUNEL staining kit.The activities of malondialdehyde and superoxide dismutase were detected by malondialdehyde test kit and superoxide dismutase test kit, respectively. The apoptosis and expression of mitochondrial dynamics-related proteins were detected by immunofluorescence staining and western blot assay. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Compared with the control group, the mitochondrial membrane potential and superoxide dismutase activity were significantly reduced,as well as apoptotic rate and malondialdehyde levels were significantly increased in the H2O2 group(P<0.05).After treatment with Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides, the membrane potential and superoxide dismutase activities were significantly increased, and apoptotic rate and malondialdehyde levels were significantly reduced compared with the H2O2 group(P<0.05).(2)The expression levels of pro-apoptotic proteins Bax and Caspase-3 were significantly increased, but the expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was significantly decreased in the H2O2 group compared with the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the H2O2 group, the levels of Bax and Caspase-3 were significantly decreased, but the expression of anti-apoptotic protein Bcl-2 was significantly increased in the Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides group(P<0.05).(3)Compared with the control group, the expression of mitochondrial splitting proteins Fis1 and p-Drp1 was significantly increased, but the expression of mitochondrial fusion proteins OPA1,Mfn1,and Mfn2 was decreased in the H2O2 group(P<0.05).Compared with the H2O2 group,Fis1 and p-Drp1 expression was significantly reduced, but the expression levels of OPA1,Mfn1,and Mfn2 were significantly increased in the Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides group(P<0.05).(4)The above results confirm that Ganoderma lucidum polysaccharides can attenuate H2O2-induced oxidative stress damage and apoptosis in SH-SY5Y cells by ameliorating mitochondrial dysfunction.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(5):640-643
Objective:
To describe the prevalence and the association of sleep quality trajectory, social jetlag and comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression among college students, in order to provide a theoretical basis for improving the comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression in college students.
Methods:
A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1 135 college students from two universities in Shangrao, Jiangxi Province and Hefei, Anhui Province from April to May 2019, and were followed up once every one year for a total of three times, with a valid sample size of 1 034 individuals after matching with the baseline survey. A selfassessment questionnaire was used to investigate the social jetlag of college students, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9) were used to evaluate anxiety and depression symptoms, respectively, while the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to assess sleep quality. College students with GAD-7 score ≥5 and PHQ-9 score ≥5 were defined as having comorbid anxiety and depression symptoms. Latent class growth model (LCGM) was employed to analyze the sleep quality trajectory of college students, and binary Logistic regression was used to analyze the relationship between social jetlag, sleep quality trajectory and comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Results:
The detection rate of comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression among college students was 16.9%, and the detection rate of social jetlag ≥2 h was 13.8%. The sleep quality showed an overall improvement trend, and the two trajectories were good sleep quality (81.6%) and poor sleep quality (18.4%). Binary Logistic regression model showed that poor sleep quality and social jetlag ≥2 h were positively correlated with comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression (OR=5.94, 1.84, P<0.05).
Conclusions
Poor sleep quality and social jetlag ≥2 h in college students increase the risk of comorbid symptoms of anxiety and depression. Early screening and intervention of sleep quality and reduction of social jetlag are crucial for enhancing the mental health of college students.

Objective:To analyze the prognostic factors and the influence of surgical margin to prognosis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was performed for 208 pelvic tumors who received surgical treatment from January 2000 to December 2017 in our instituition. Survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method and Log rank test, and impact factor analysis was performed using Cox regression models. Results:There were 183 initial patients and 25 recurrent cases. According to Enneking staging, 110 cases were stage ⅠB and 98 cases were stage ⅡB. 19 lesions were in zone Ⅰ, 1 in zone Ⅱ, 15 in zone Ⅲ, 29 in zone Ⅰ+Ⅱ, 71 in zone Ⅱ+Ⅲ, 29 in zone Ⅰ+Ⅳ, 35 in zone Ⅰ+Ⅱ+Ⅲ, 3 in zone Ⅰ+Ⅱ+Ⅳ, and 6 in zone Ⅰ+Ⅱ+Ⅲ+Ⅳ. Surgical margins including Intralesional excision in 7 cases, contaminated margin in 21 cases, marginal resection in 67 cases, and wide resection in 113 cases. Local recurrence occurred in 37 cases (17.8%), 25 cases were performed by reoperation and 12 cases received amputation finally. The 5-year recurrence rate of marginal resection was higher than wide resection ( P<0.05), and the recurrence-free survival rate of marginal resection was lower than wide resection ( P<0.05). There was significant differences in recurrence rate and recurrence-free survival rate between R0 and R1 resection ( P<0.05). 92 cases were not reconstructed and 116 cases were reconstructed after pelvic surgery. At the last follow-up, 63 patients (30.3%) died, and the 5-year, 10-year and 15-year survival rates were 70.4%, 66.8% and 61.3%, respectively. The 5-year survival rate of stage ⅠB and ⅡB tumor was 90.4% and 46.8%, respectively. There were 29 cases had postoperative wound complications (13.8%), 1 case with pelvic organ injury. The final function was evaluated in 132 patients, with an average MSTS score of 25.1±3.6. Cox multivariate analysis showed that surgical staging, R0/R1 margin and metastasis were independent prognostic factors for pelvic tumors. Conclusions:The safe surgical margin is the key factor for recurrence-free of pelvic tumor. The survival rate of stage ⅡB pelvic tumors was significantly lower than that of stage ⅠB tumors. Wound infection is the main postoperative complication. Surgical staging, R0/R1 margin and metastasis were independent prognostic factors of pelvic tumors.

Objective:To assess the mental health status of anesthesiology residents and identify its influencing factors during standardized training, and to enhance the attention and understanding of standardized training management personnel regarding the mental health of residents. Methods:All on-duty residents in the anesthesiology departments of ten standardized anesthesiology training bases, including The Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, were selected as subjects. Self-designed questionnaires were distributed, which included a general information survey, the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), the Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS), and the Self-Rating Scale of Sleep (SRSS), to investigate the psychological state and sources of stress. Based on the questionnaire results, residents from the Department of Anesthesiology at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University were purposively and heterogeneously selected as interviewees. One-on-one semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted to understand the major life events that triggered emotional or psychological issues and their connections with standardized training or the profession. This survey also aimed to understand the support that anesthesiology residents hoped to receive and their suggestions for the standardized training program. The chi-square test, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance were performed using Graphpad Prism 9.0. Interview content was coded and categorized using data analysis software NVivo12. The Colaizzi's seven-step method was used to analyze the data and extract interview themes. Results:A total of 157 valid questionnaires were recovered, with a response rate of 100.00%. The mean scores of SAS, SDS, FSS, and SRSS were (50.60±14.16), (56.31±12.90), (44.49±13.88), and (27.78±9.40), respectively, all meeting the diagnostic criteria for mild conditions. Of them, 16 (10.19%), 18 (11.46%), 47 (29.94%), and 19 (12.10%) residents met the diagnostic criteria for severe conditions. Compared with Grade 1 residents, Grade 3 residents showed increased scores in anxiety [(54.24±13.83) vs. (47.02±12.04), P=0.030] and depression [(59.66±12.74) vs. (51.53±10.76), P=0.005]. In total, 24 anesthesiology residents were selected for semi-structured interview and three themes were identified: psychological stress related to the training bases, psychological stress related to personal issues, and psychological stress related to career prospects. Conclusions:The anesthesiology residents during standardized training have high prevalence of psychological disorders, which are closely related to work overload, financial stress, occupational exposure, and personal factors. Psychological counseling and crisis intervention should be regarded as integral components of standardized training management, and attention is needed in monitoring the psychological fluctuations of anesthesiology residents and helping them to complete their rotations on time.
