		                        			 Background:
Classical swine fever (CSF) is a severe infectious disease of pigs that causes significant economic losses to the swine industry.

		                        			Objectives:
This study developed a solid-phase blocking enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (spbELISA) method for the specific detection of antibodies against the CSF virus (CSFV) in porcine serum samples.

		                        			Methods:
A spbELISA method was developed based on the recombinant E2 expressed in Escherichia coli. The specificity of this established spbELISA method was evaluated using reference serum samples positive for antibodies against other common infectious diseases. The stability and sensitivity were evaluated using an accelerated thermostability test.

		                        			Results:
The spbELISA successfully detected the antibody levels in swine vaccinated with the C-strain of CSFV. In addition, the detection ability of spbELISA for CSFV antibodies was compared with that of other commercial ELISA kits and validated using an indirect immunofluorescence assay. The results suggested that the spbELISA provides an alternative, stable, and rapid serological detection method suitable for the large-scale screening of CSFV serum antibodies.

		                        			Conclusions
The spbELISA has practical applications in assessing the vaccination status of large pig herds.

In this study, thermosensitive and repairable molecularly imprinted solid-phase microextraction fibers were synthesized using spiramycin as template molecule, methacrylic acid and N-isopropylacrylamide as functional monomers, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as crosslinking agent, and silanized quartz capillary as carrier. The prepared molecularly imprinted solid-phase microextraction fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscope and nitrogen adsorption/desorption,and various parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were optimized. Due to high selectivity and sensitivity of the fibers for macrolide antibiotics, the quantitative analysis of four macrolide antibiotics in food matrix, spiramycin, tilmicosin, tylosin, and josamycin, was peroformed in combination with high performance liquid chromatography. In the range of 0.5 to 50 μg/mL,the chromatographic peak area showed a good linear relationship with the concentration. The spike recoveries of the samples at three different addition levels were between 81.8% and 119.1%;the inter-day precisions were less than 13.8% (n=6),and the intra-day precisions were less than 15.5% (n=3).

Objective To assess the efficacy of radical transurethral electrovaporization for invasive bladder cancer. Methods Thirty-six patients with invasive bladder cancer from february 2008 to February 2010 were treated by transurethral electrovaporization resection of bladder tumor (TURBT). The operation procedure was based upon the principle of radical transurethral resection for bladder tumor. The tumor was resected to fatty layer outside the bladder wall. After operation Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) irrigation of bladder was given, all patients were followed up for 3 to 24 months. Results The recurrence occurred in 12 cases in 2 years, with a recurrence rate of 33. 3% (12/36). These recurrence cases were treated with TURBT again. Six cases dead in 2 years, with a mortality of 16. 7% (6/36). Conclusion TURBT is suitable for those who are older or weak, and not medically fit for radical cystectomy or those who refuse the open surgery, which can prolong the survival time and improve the quality of life.

Objective To investigate the differentially expressed genes in sporadic parathyroid adenomas using genechip and provide basis for further studying the mechanism and diagnosis of sporadic parathyroid adeno-mas. Methods Total RNA was extracted from normal parathyroid tissues and adenomas tissues. The mRNA was used to prepare probes. The mixed probes were hybridized to the cDNA microarray. After washing, the DNA chips were scanned by laser scanner. The acquired image was analyzed. Results Among the 47 000 target genes, 2302 genes were identified in sporadic parathyroid adenomas tissues that had at least two-fold changes compared to normal parathyroid tissues, and 1012 genes up-regulated and 1290 down-regulated were found in this study. Of 10 genes up-regulated and 27 down-regulated, the changes were over five-fold. The function of these changed genes was involved in transport, cell adhesion, signal transduetion, transcription, ion binding and so on. Conclusions Many parathyroid adenomas associated genes have been screened by high-throughout gene chip method, Which may help to identify the mechanism and diagnosis of sporadic parathyroid adenomas.
