Chinese Journal of School Health 2024;45(1):25-29
Objective:
To describe the association of different sleep characteristics and cardiometabolic risk among college students, so as to provide reference for health promotion of college students.
Methods:
By random cluster sampling method, a questionnaire survey and physical examination including blood pressure, waist circumference and blood lipid indicators, which were conducted in April and May of 2019 among a total of 1 179 college students from the first grade in two universities in Hefei City of Anhui Province and Shangrao City of Jiangxi Province. A total of 729 college students with valid questionnaires were included into analysis. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) were used to investigate sleep behavior, and the Morning And Evening Questionnaire-5 (MEQ-5) was used to investigate sleep characteristics. The cardiometabolic risk score was derived using the sum of the standardized sex specific Z scores of waist circumference, mean arterial pressure, HDL cholesterol (multiplied by -1), triglycerides, and insulin resistance index. The rank sum tests were used to compare differences in cardiometabolic risk scores across demographic characteristics. Generalized linear models were used to compare the association of different sleep characteristics with cardiometabolic risk scores among college students.
Results:
The average cardiovascular metabolic risk score of college students was -0.32(-2.03, 1.58). There were statistically significant differences in cardiovascular metabolic risk scores among college students in variables such as smoking, health status, and physical activity levels ( t/F=-3.41, 12.88, 51.07, P <0.01). The results of the generalized linear model showed that nighttime preference ( B=1.89, 95%CI =1.02-3.49), insomnia symptoms ( B=3.25, 95%CI =1.79-5.90), and short or long sleep duration ( B=1.92, 95%CI =1.21-3.05) were positively correlated with the cardiovascular metabolic risk score of college students ( P <0.05).
Conclusions
Poor sleep patterns among college students are positively correlated with the risk of cardiovascular metabolism. The sleep behavior of college students should be actively changed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Objective:To explore the effect of supportive-expressive group psychological intervention on the fear of recurrence in cancer patients receiving radiotherapy. Methods:From September 2022 to February 2023, convenience sampling was used to select 72 tumor inpatients from Shanghai Proton and Heavy Ion Center. According to the random number table method, patients were divided into an intervention group and a control group, with 36 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing, while the intervention group carried out supportive-expressive group psychological intervention. The fear of recurrence, meaning in life, and perceived social support scores of two groups of patients before and after intervention were compared using the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FoP-Q-SF), Cancer-Meaning in Life Scale (C-MiLS), and Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) .Results:A total of 7 cases were lost, with 33 cases in the intervention group and 32 cases in the control group completing the study. Before intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in the general information, fear of recurrence, meaning in life, and perceived social support scores between the two groups of patients ( P>0.05). After supportive-expressive group psychological intervention, the total score of cancer recurrence fear, physical health dimension, and social family dimension scores of the intervention group were (30.42±8.31), (15.58±4.12), and (14.82±4.83), respectively, which were lower than the control group's (36.19±5.64), (18.84±3.48), and (17.09±3.27), and the differences were statistically significant ( t=-3.260, -3.446, and -2.216; P<0.05). After intervention, the total score of the intervention group's meaning in life was (63.42±6.37), which was higher than the control group's (54.91±6.53), and the difference was statistically significant ( t=5.325, P<0.05). After intervention, the perceived social support score of the intervention group was (67.64±7.93), which was higher than the control group's (62.38±10.25), and the difference was statistically significant ( t=2.318, P<0.05). After intervention, the level of fear of recurrence in the intervention group was lower than that before intervention, and the level of meaning in life and perceived social support were higher than those before intervention, with statistical differences ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:Support-expressive group psychological intervention can help cancer patients deal with survival, emotional, and interpersonal issues they face, reduce their fear of recurrence, improve their meaning in life, and perceived social support.

Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(8):1186-1189
Objective:
To describe the prevalence and association of sleep quality and anxiety-depression co-morbid symptoms among nursing students, in order to provide a reference basis for promoting the development of nursing students mental health.
Methods:
Using a prospective study design, baseline survey was conducted in January 2019 among a random cluster sample of 1 716 individuals in three medical universities in Hefei, Anhui Province, and a follow-up survey was conducted in October 2019, with a valid number of 1 573 individuals after matching with the baseline survey. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to assess nursing students sleep quality, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) to assess the anxiety-depression comorbid symptoms.
Results:
The detection rates of anxiety-depression co-morbidities among nursing students at baseline and follow-up survey were 16.9% and 18.2%, respectively, and the detection rates of poor sleep quality among nursing students at baseline and follow-up survey were 10.1% and 10.3%, respectively. The results of the binary Logistic regression model showed that baseline PSQI score were positively associated with the risk of anxiety-depression co-morbid symptoms among nursing students at baseline ( OR=1.49, 95%CI =1.40-1.59) and after nine months of follow-up ( OR=1.22, 95%CI =1.16-1.28). Furthermore, the influence of baseline sleep quality on the risk of anxiety-depression co-morbid symptoms were mainly concentrated in the five dimensions of sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, hypnotic drugs and daytime dysfunction, and such effects of sleep time, sleep disorders and daytime dysfunction still existed in the follow-up investigation.
Conclusion
Poor sleep quality of nursing students can increase the risk of anxiety-depression co-morbidities. Improving sleep quality of nursing students has a positive effect on improving their mental health.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2023;41(3):323-332
OBJECTIVES:
This study aimed to evaluate and analyze the current situation of dentists in Guangdong pro-vince regarding the management of avulsed incisors, thereby providing a reference for making treatment strategies for avulsed incisors in the future.
METHODS:
A total of 712 dentists with different educational backgrounds and working conditions in Guangdong province were randomly selected to conduct an online questionnaire survey on the cognition of children with avulsed incisors from April 2022 to May 2022. The data were recorded by Excel software and statistics were analyzed on Stata/SE 15.1.
RESULTS:
A total of 712 dentists were investigated and 701 questionnaires were collected (98.46%). In addition, 65.9% of investigators came from the Department of Stomatology in a First-class Hospital or Stomatological Hospital. The results showed that the average number of avulsed teeth consulted by dentists was less than 20 per year. Although 99.7% of respondents considered normal saline as a suitable storage medium, 3.1% and 23.8% of them had a misunderstanding that the tap/alcohol could be used for root cleaning. Moreover, 93.4% was the correct selection rate of the treatment plan for processing on root surfaces before replanting by investigators. The correct selection rate of the duration using elastic fixation was only 10.7%. Meanwhile, 42.9% of investigators refused to inoculate tetanus immunoglobulin after teeth replanting. Emergency management of dental avulsion (EM) and clinical management of dental avulsion (CM) answered correctly with average scores of 14.60±11.85 and 14.48±2.67, respectively. Multivariate linear regression analysis revealed that working years were negatively correlated with EM and CM scores (P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between CM and EM scores with the number of avulsion cases treated by physicians each year (P<0.05). In terms of the EM score of dentists' learning attitude, investigators who had received enough knowledge were higher than those who had not and insufficient knowledge reserved, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of investigators who thought they had a certain degree of knowledge about dental trauma were higher than those who thought they "did not understand", and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In terms of CM scores, investigators who thought the knowledge of dental trauma was "very helpful" had higher scores than those who thought it was "not helpful", and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The scores of the investigators who thought they had "relatively sufficient knowledge" of dental trauma were higher than those who thought they had "no knowledge" or "insufficient know-ledge", and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
The overall accuracy of the management of avulsed incisors among dentists was low in Guangdong province. Dentists were more likely to have a higher rate of accuracy choice in treatment options for luxation injury and avulsion to enhance the prognosis of replanted teeth.
