		                        			Objective:
To investigate the effects of lactoprotein iron chelates on rats with iron deficiency anaemia (IDA), so as to provide insights into developing and utilizing novel iron supplements.

		                        			Methods:
Seventy weaning female SPF-graded rats of the SD strain were randomly divided into the control group (A), model group (B), ferrous sulfate group (C), lactoferrin group (D), lactoferrin iron chelate group (E), Casein oligopeptide iron chelate group (F) and whey protein oligopeptide iron chelate group (G), with 10 rats in each group. The rats in group A were fed with normal diet, and the others were fed with poor iron diet for IDA modeling. The corresponding interventions were given by intragastric administration once a day. The iron ion concentrations of group C, E, F and G were 2.0 mg/kg, and the protein and oligopeptide concentrations of group D, E, F and G were 2 000 mg/kg. Body weight and hemoglobin of rats were measured weekly during 21-day intervention. At the end, peripheral blood samples were collected, and blood routine, iron metabolism and liver function indicators were determined.

		                        			Results:
After the intervention, among blood routine indicators, the rats in group C, E, F and G showed elevated hemoglobin, red blood cell, mean corpuscular volume and hematocrit, and decreased free protoporphyrin and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration when compared with the rats in group B (all P<0.05); among iron metabolism indicators, the rats in group C, E and G showed elevated serum ferritin, the rats in group C, E, F and G showed elevated serum iron, the rats in group C, D, E, F and G showed decreased unsaturated iron binding capacity and total iron binding capacity when compared with the rats in group B (all P<0.05); among liver function indicators, the rats in group E and G showed decreased alanine transaminase when compared with the rats in group B (both P<0.05).

		                        			Conclusions
Lactoprotein alone could not completely improve IDA in rats compared with traditional iron supplement (ferrous sulfate). Lactoprotein iron chelate, especially whey protein oligopeptide iron chelate, could significantly improve IDA, iron reserve and liver function damage in rats.

Objective:To compare the dosimetric differences between accelerated partial breast irradiation intensity modulated radiation therapy (APBI-IMRT) and whole breast irradiation with simultaneous integrated boost intensity modulated radiotherapy (WBI-SIB-IMRT) for early-stage breast cancer after breast-conserving surgery. Methods:A total of 35 patients with early-stage breast cancer in Jilin Province Cancer Hospital between July 2009 and December 2014 after breast-conserving surgery were enrolled. The targeted regions of APBI-IMRT and WBI-SIB-IMRT were created for each patient. The dosimetric difference comparison of the targeted region and normal tissues was evaluated by using dose volume histogram (DVH).Results:There was no significant difference in the dosimetric comparison of gross tumor volume (GTVtb) and planning gross tumor volume (PGTVtb) after correction of cumulative radiation effect (CRE) between WBI-SIB-IMRT group and APBI-IMRT group (both P > 0.05). The dose of clinical target volume (CTV) and planning target volume(PTV) in APBI-IMRT group was higher than that in WBI-SIB-IMRT group [CTV: (4 720±71) cGy vs. (3 889±79) cGy, t = 3.184, P = 0.027; PTV: (4 675±164) cGy vs. (3 807±199) cGy, t = 2.751, P = 0.032] after CRE correction. Compared with WBI-SIB-IMRT group, the dose of ipsilateral lung tissue and left heart tissue in APBI-IMRT group was decreased after CRE correction [(558.5±8.9) cGy vs. (1 304.9±34.4) cGy, t = -7.328, P = 0.001; (35.5±5.3) cGy vs. (843.0±41.5) cGy, t = -8.137, P = 0.001]. V 5/3.6 Gy, V 10/7.3 Gy, V 15/10.9 Gy, V 20/14.6 Gy, V 25/18.2 Gy and V 30/21.9 Gy of the ipsilateral lung and V 30/21.9Gy, V 40/29.2Gy of left heart in all breast cancer patients after two chemotherapy treatments had significant differences (all P = 0.001). Conclusion:Compared with WBI-SIB, APBI-IMRT can improve the dose distribution in target area and reduce the volume of high dose irradiation in organs at risk.

Objective To investigate the expression of NF-κBp65 in hippocampus after the XST intervention therapy in the SD rats with global cerebral I/R injury and testify the protective effect of XST after global cerebral I/R injury. Methods 72 healthy SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups, sham operation(SO) group ( n =24),I/R group( n =24) and XST group( n =24).The model of acute global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (including:I/R and XST group) injury was produced by means of simple Pulsinelli- brierley's four arteries occlusion method.H.E.staining was performed to detect the number of surviving neurons and TUNEL was used to detect the rate of neurons apoptosis. The expression activation of NF-κB p65 in hippocampus comu-ammonis ( CA1 ) region were examined by immunohistochemical method (SABC).Results The survival pyramidal neurons in the XST group continued to increase, and it was significantly more than the I/R group at each time-point after reperfusion[ (99.23 ±4.22)/mm vs (75.83 ±7.17 )/mm,(80.93 ± 5.36)/mm vs (51.50 ± 8.26 )/mm,(103.24 ± 5.48 )/mm vs (35.67 ± 13.17 )/mm,( 126.22 ± 7.54 )/mm vs (9.83 ± 4.71 )/mm ],the differences were statistically significant ( P <0.01 ).The apoptosis rate of pyramidal cell in the XST group at each time-point were more significantly reduced than the I/R group [ ( 8.82 ± 2.71 ) % vs ( 22.58 ± 4.68 ) %.( 19.15 ± 6.23 ) % vs (42.68 ± 3.04 ) %,( 11.82 ± 2.87 ) % vs ( 55.51 ± 6.81 ) %,( 8.44 ± 3.23 ) % vs ( 71.69 ± 7.71 ) % ],the differences were statistically significant ( P <0.01 ).The positive neurons of NF-κBp65 expression in the XST group at different time-points were significantly less than the L/R group[ ( 13.20 ±2.50) vs ( 18.00 ± 1.87),(8.20 ±5.31) vs (41.60±3.65),(6.70±3.36) vs (55.30±5.10),(7.10±3.57) vs (72.80 ±4.71)],the differences were statistically significant ( P < 0.05,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions After global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion,XST could protect the brain from global cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by holding up the expression of NF- kappaB p65,and inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, and increasing the number of surviving neurons. Thus, the results of this experiment could provide a powerful and weighty objective indication for XST being used during cerebral resuscitation.
