Objective To investigate the fluctuations in the population density of Aedes albopictus and changes in the population density of Ae. albopictus in different geographical areas and different breeding habitats in Guangdong Province from 2018 to 2023, so as to provide insights into prevention and control of mosquito-borne infectious diseases in the province. Methods Ae. albopictus surveillance sites were assigned in 1 609 townships (streets) from 121 districts (counties) of 21 cities in Guangdong Province during the period between March and November from 2018 to 2023. The surveillance of the population density of Ae. albopictus was performed once a month in each surveillance site, and once a month in specific settings in cities where dengue were highly prevalent in Guangdong Province from December to February of the next year during the period from 2018 through 2023. Four streets (villages) were selected in each surveillance site according to the geographic orientation, and mosquito ovitraps were assigned in gardens, rooftops or public green belts at residential areas, parks, hospitals and construction sites. All mosquito ovitraps were collected, and the mosquito ovitrap index (MOI) was calculated. The population density of Ae. albopictus was classified into four grades in each surveillance site according to MOI, including no risk, low risk, medium risk and high risk. The risk classification of the Ae. albopictus density was analyzed in each surveillance site each year from 2018 to 2023, and the population density of Ae. albopictus was analyzed at different months and in different geographical areas and breeding habitats. Results A total of 118 241 Ae. albopictus surveillance sites were assigned in 21 cities of Guangdong Province from 2018 to 2023, and there were 68.26% of the surveillance sites with the population density of Ae. albopictus that met the requirements for dengue prevention and control, among which low, medium and high risk surveillance sites accounted for 23.61%, 6.67% and 1.47%. The risk classification of the Ae. albopictus density increased rapidly in Guangdong Province since April to May each year from 2018 to 2023, and then gradually reduced since September to October, with the peak during the period between May and July. The mean MOI was 4.21 at each surveillance site in Guangdong Province during the period from 2018 to 2023, with 4.69, 4.80, 4.38, 3.82, 3.38, and 4.33 from 2018 to 2023, respectively. The MOI was 4.35, 4.43, 3.53 and 3.58 in the Pearl River Delta region, and eastern, western, and northern Guangdong Province, respectively, and was 4.18, 5.44, 4.75, 3.24, 4.27 and 3.70 in residential areas, parks, construction sites, hospitals, waste collection stations, and other breeding habitats, respectively. Conclusions The population density of adult Ae. albopictus peaked in Guangdong Province during the period between May and July from 2018 to 2023, with a high density of Ae. albopictus in the Pearl River Delta region and eastern Guangdong Province. Targeted Ae. albopictus control measures are recommended to be implemented prior to the peak of the Ae. albopictus population density to reduce the development of mosquito-borne infectious diseases.

To evaluate the clinical value of a new method of guide wire extraction and single reverse-α fixation with short nasobiliary duct for oronasal conversion and fixation, patients who underwent endoscopic nasobiliary drainage in Shanghai East Hospital, Tongji University from January to August 2022 were selected. They were randomly divided into guide wire extraction and single reverse-α fixation with short nasobiliary duct group (the observation group, n=145) and guide wire taking and reverse-α fixation group (the control group, n=71). The operation time, one-time operation success rate, adverse events, comfort and satisfaction between the two groups were compared. The operation time in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group [102 ( 91, 117) s VS 136 (127, 145) s, Z=-9.639, P<0.001]. The one-time operation success rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group [88.28% (128/145) VS 67.61% (48/71), χ2=13.496], the nasopharynx stimulation score [1 (1, 2) VS 2 (1, 2), Z=-4.457] and adverse events incidence [4.14% (6/145) VS 15.49% (11/71), χ2=8.475] in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). During the indwelling of nasobiliary duct, the bile drainage volume (179.45±81.54 mL VS 142.89±55.69 mL, t=3.407) and nursing satisfaction score (7.72±0.99 VS 6.06±1.07, t=11.337) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the comfort score (3.00±1.01 VS 4.83±0.99, t=-12.642) and incidence of adverse events [3.45% (5/145) VS 14.08% (10/71), χ2=8.344] in the observation group were lower than those in the control group ( P<0.05). The operation time of nasobiliary duct removal in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group (9.00±1.14 s VS 11.93±1.36 s, t=-16.616, P<0.001). In conclusion, the guide wire extraction and single reverse-α fixation with short nasobiliary duct for nasobiliary oronasal conversion and fixation in endoscopic nasobiliary drainage has the advantages of simple operation, small irritation response and low complication incidence, which is worth of clinical promotion.

【Objective】 To investigate the correlation of serum exosomal microRNA-301a (miR-301a) with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events after peritoneal dialysis in diabetic nephropathy. 【Methods】 A total of 211 patients with diabetic nephropathy treated with peritoneal dialysis from June 2019 to June 2020 in the First Hospital Affiliated of Hebei North University were selected as study subjects. Serum exosomal miR-301a was detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction. The patients were divided into high miR-301a group and low miR-301a group based on the median of miR-301a; the clinical data of the two groups were compared. The correlation of miR-301a with high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) was analyzed by Spearman. Linear regression was applied to analyze the factors associated with the effect of miR-301a. The patients were followed up for two years. Kaplan-Meier and Log-Rank were conducted to compare the cumulative incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events between the two groups, and COX regression and restricted cubic spline were used to analyze the level-effect relationship between miR-301a and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events after peritoneal dialysis. 【Results】 Thirty-seven cases (17.54%) of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events occurred during follow-up. The hs-CRP level and dialysis duration were lower in low miR-301a group than in high miR-301a group (P<0.05). There was a positive correlation between miR-301a and hs-CRP (r

Objective:To investigate the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis(CAS)and subclinical left ventricular(LV)dysfunction in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with preserved LV ejection fraction(LVEF).Methods:A total of 120 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who had LVEF≥50% were selected in the Department of Endocrinology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University from June 2021 to October 2021. The global longitudinal strain(GLS)was obtained by two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography(STE)to assess subclinical LV systolic function. The mitral ratio of peak early to late diastolic filling velocity(E/A), and mitral velocity to early diastolic velocity of the mitral annulus(E/E′)ratio were obtained by pulsed tissue Doppler echocardiography to assess LV diastolic function. Acrroding to bilateral carotid ultrasound examination, the subjects were divided into normal carotid arteries group( n=46) and CAS group( n=74). Demographics and biochemical parameters were compared between two groups. Binary logistic regression and Pearson correlation analysis were used to evaluate the relationship between CAS and subclinical LV dysfunction. Results:The CAS group had a higher proportion of men, older age, and a longer duration of diabetes than the normal carotid arteries group(all P<0.05). There was no difference in LVEF and GLS between the two groups [normal carotid arteries group vs CAS group, LVEF: (60.72±4.73)% vs(60.07±4.28)%; GLS: (18.24±3.72)% vs(17.81±3.47)%, respectively; both P>0.05]. However, compared with normal carotid arteries group, E/A ratio was decreased and E/E′ ratio was significantly increased in CAS group(both P<0.01). Pearson correlation analysis showed that GLS was not correlated with carotid plaque thickness and carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT; both P>0.05). By contrast, E/E′ ratio was positively correlated with carotid plaque thickness and CIMT(both P<0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that GLS and E/E′ ratio were not associated with CAS( both P>0.05). However, decreased E/A ratio was significantly associated with the existence of CAS( OR=0.09, 95% CI 0.01-0.67, P=0.018). Conclusions:In type 2 diabetes mellitus patients without overt heart failure and with preserved LVEF, the occurrence of CAS is not associated with subclinical LV systolic impairment assessed by GLS, but is significantly associated with LV diastolic dysfunction, and is independent of traditional cardiovascular risk factors.

Objective:To observe early postoperative changes in body composition in patients receiving laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and to explore the relationship between body composition and glycolipid metabolism, so as to provide stage-specific information for doctors in the weight loss team on metabolic surgery effect assessment and postoperative follow-up and guidance. Methods:The study was a retrospective cohort study. According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 44 patients who underwent LSG in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from December 1, 2017 to May 30, 2021 were included. Body composition was measured using bio-electrical impedance analysis at baseline and after surgery. Results:The patients' body composition changed significantly at 1 month and 3 months after surgery, and glucose and lipid metabolism indicators improved significantly. Body composition indicators, including body mass index (BMI), the amount of moisture in the body, inorganic salts, body fat, skeletal muscle mass, fat free mass, body fat percentage, waist-to-hip fat ratio, visceral fat, basal metabolic rate and bone mineral content, decreased significantly within 3 months after surgery ( P<0.05). The ratio of upper and lower limb muscle to body weight (U/W, L/W) increased significantly after surgery ( P<0.05). The ratio of trunk muscle to body weight (T/W) decreased within 3 months after surgery ( P<0.05). Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses showed that skeletal muscle mass and U/W were positively correlated with triglyceride ( r=0.637 and 0.304, respectively, both P<0.05) in 3 months after operation. L/W was positively correlated with fasting blood glucose ( r=0.454, P<0.05). T/W was negatively correlated with triglyceride ( r=-0.643, P<0.05). Conclusions:Patients undergoing LSG displayed significant changes in body composition in the early postoperative period. Changes in muscle mass of different body parts varies and showed different effects on glucose and lipid metabolism parameters. The trunk muscle mass is negatively correlated with glucose and lipid metabolism indicators, while limb muscle mass and skeletal muscle mass are positively. It is suggested that the changes of body composition in different parts should be observed when evaluating patient outcomes after LSG and the trunk body mass should be preserved as far as possible.

BACKGROUND:Nerve growth factor has been shown to play an important role in bone healing, but little is reported on the effect of growth factor composite scaffolds via the immediate implantation in the repair of canine bone defects. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the effect of nerve growth factor composite scaffolds via the immediate implantation for the repair of canine bone defects. METHODS:Nerve growth factor composited strontium apatite scaffolds were prepared. Canine mandibular defect models were established and divided into three groups, fol owed by implanted with composite scaffold (experimental group), strontium apatite (positive control group), or nothing (blank control group). The three-dimensional CT reconstruction and hematoxylin-eosin staining of canine mandibular bone defects were observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the blank control group, there were few new bones surrounding bone defect. Trabecular bones spread from the defect center to the surrounding tissues in the experimental and positive control groups. The bone density, volume, thickness, and implant-bone contact were significantly increased, while the trabecular separation was significantly decreased in the experimental group compared with the positive control and blank control groups (P<0.05), and al above indicators in the positive contro group were significantly higher than those in the blank control group (P<0.05). Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that in the experimental group, there were a large number of new bones that contacted with the surrounding bones closely, and trabecular bones arranged regularly. In the positive control group, newborn osteoid, trabeculare, and a smal amount of debris were found. In the blank control group, few new bones were connected with the surrounding bones untightly and trabecular bone arranged irregularly. These results indicate that the nerve growth factor composite scaffold can promote the bone regeneration in the canine bone defects after immediate implantation.

Objective To explore the effect of uremic clearance granule combined with losartan potassium on the microinflammation status and peritoneal function in patients underwent peritoneal dialysis (PD).Methods A total of 60 patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) who were admitted in our hospital from August 2014 to February 2016 for continuous ambulatory PD (CAPD) were included in the study and randomized into observation group and control group. The patients in the two groups were performed with CAPD.The patients in the control group were orally administrated with losartan potassium tablets. On this basis, the patients in the observation group were given uremic clearance granules. After 1-year treatment, the efficacy was evaluated.PET was performed in the beginning and at the end and 24 h urine volume and 24 h ultrafiltration volume were recorded.Meanwhile,RRF was determined.Hs-CRP,IL-6,TNF-α,TGF-β1,VEGF,and FN were detected. Results RRF,24h urine volume and 24h ultrafiltration volume in 1 year after treatment in the two groups were significantly reduced compared with treatment before (P < 0.05),while PET was significantly elevated (P < 0.05).The reduced degree of RRF,24 h urine volume and 24 h ultrafiltration volume in 1 year after treatment in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group (P < 0.0 5),and the elevated degree of PET was significantly less than that in the control group (P < 0.05).Hs-CRP,IL-6,and TNF-α in 1 year after treatment in the two groups was significantly reduced compared with treatment before (P < 0.05).The reduced degree of hsCRP,IL-6,and TNF-α in 1 year after treatment in the observation group was significantly greater than that in the control group (P <0.05).TGF-β1,VEGF,and FN in 1 year after treatment in the two groups were significantly elevated compared with treatment before (P < 0.05).The elevated degree of TGF-β1,VEGF,and FN in 1 year after treatment in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group. Conclusion Uremic clearance granule in combined with losartan potassium can effectively improve the microinflammation status, inhibit PF,protect the peritoneal function, and delay the reduction of RRF.
