BACKGROUND:Traditional scoliosis orthosis has some disadvantages, such as complex manufacturing process, long processing cycle, poor fit and so on.Three-dimensional printed scoliosis orthosis has the advantages of high manufacturing precision and personalization. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy of three-dimensional printed scoliosis orthosis for scoliosis based on multi-criteria decision model. METHODS:Clinical data of 72 patients with scoliosis admitted to Chen Xinghai Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from January 2019 to October 2022 were retrospectively collected and divided into two groups according to the treatment of orthosis.Study group(n=23)received three-dimensional printed scoliosis orthosis.Traditional group(n=49)received the traditional polypropylene spine brace treatment. The clinical efficacy and complications were compared between the two groups.A multi-criteria decision model for the treatment of scoliosis with three-dimensional printed scoliosis orthosis was established, and the stability of the benefit value, risk value and decision model of the two groups were evaluated. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Compared with the traditional group, there were significant differences in the top vertebral offset distance,Cobb angle, top vertebral rotation,Functional Movement Screen score, visual analog scale score and total effective rate in the study group at 6 months after surgery(P<0.05).(2)Among the benefit indexes,Cobb angle had the greatest impact on the condition of patients, while the risk indexes had the greatest impact on dyspnea.(3)The benefit values of the study group and the traditional group for scoliosis were 79 and 64,and the risk values were 74 and 57,respectively.The combined benefit and risk values found that the benefit-risk value of the study group was 16 higher than that of the traditional group.(4)In the range of 0-100%relative risk weight, the benefit-risk value of the study group was always higher than that of the traditional group, which proved that the multi-criteria decision-making model had good stability.(5)It is indicated that three-dimensional printed scoliosis orthosis can better restore the physiological curvature of scoliosis and improve the efficiency of treatment.

Objective:To investigate the value of nomograms based on clinical parameters, apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) and MRI-derived radiomics in predicting survival of patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT).Methods:Clinical data of 423 patients with IB-IVA cervical cancer treated with CCRT at Anhui Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Anhui Medical University from March 2014 to March 2020 were retrospectively analyzed and randomly divided into the training and validation groups at a ratio of 2∶1 using the simple randomization method. The values of ADC min, ADC mean, ADC max and 3D texture parameters of diffusion weighted imaging (DWI), T 2WI, T 2WI-fat suppression of pre-treatment primary lesions in all patients were measured. The least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm and logistic regression analysis were used to screen the texture features and calculate radiomics score (Rad-score). Cox regression analysis was employed to construct nomogram models for predicting overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CS) of patients with LACC after CCRT, which were subject to internal and external validation. Results:Squamous cell carcinoma antigen (SCC-Ag), external beam radiotherapy dose, ADCmin and Rad-score were the independent prognostic factors for OS and CS of LACC patients after CCRT and constituted predictive models for OS and CS. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) of two models in predicting 1-year, 3-year, 5-year OS and CS was 0.906, 0.917, 0.916 and 0.911, 0.918, 0.920, with internally validated consistency indexes (C-indexes) of 0.897 and 0.900. Then, models were brought into the validation group for external validation with AUC of 0.986, 0.942, 0.932 and 0.986, 0.933, 0.926 in predicting 1-year, 3-year, 5-year OS and CS.Conclusion:The nomograms based on clinical parameters, ADC values and MRI-derived radiomics are of high clinical value in predicting OS and CS of patients with LACC after CCRT, which can be used as prognostic markers for patients with cervical cancer to certain extent.

Objective:To investigate the value of nomogram based on intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) and MRI-derived radiomics for predicting recurrence after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC).Methods:Clinical data of 111 patients with ⅠB-ⅣA cervical cancer who underwent CCRT at Anhui Provincial Hospital from December 2014 to December 2019 and were continuously followed up were retrospectively analyzed. Pre-treatment IVIM-DWI parameters (ADC, D, D * and f) and pre- and post-treatment 3D texture parameters (from axial T 2WI) of the primary lesions were measured. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to filter texture features and calculate radiomics score (Rad-score). A Cox regression model was used to analyze independent risk factors for recurrence after CCRT in patients with LACC and construct a nomogram. Results:External beam radiotherapy dose, f value , pre-treatment Rad-score and post-treatment Rad-score ( HR=0.204, 3.253, 2.544, 7.576) were the independent prognostic factors for recurrence after CCRT in cervical cancer patients and jointly formed the nomogram. The area under curve (AUC) of the nomogram for predicting 1-, 3- and 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) was 0.895, 0.888 and 0.916, with internal validation C-indexes of 0.859, 0.903 and 0.867, respectively. The decision curves analysis showed that the nomogram has a higher net clinical benefit compared to other models, and the clinical impact curves further visualized its predictive accuracy. Conclusions:The nomogam based on IVIM-DWI and radiomics has high clinical value in predicting recurrence after CCRT in patients with LACC, providing reference for prognostic assessment and individualized treatment of cervical cancer patients.

Efforts to control inflammation and achieve better tissue repair in the treatment of periodontitis have been ongoing for years. Human β-defensin 3, a broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptide has been proven to have a variety of biological functions in periodontitis; however, relatively few reports have addressed the effects of human periodontal ligament cells (hPDLCs) on osteogenic differentiation. In this study, we evaluated the osteogenic effects of hPDLCs with an adenoviral vector encoding human β-defensin 3 in an inflammatory microenvironment. Then human β-defensin 3 gene-modified rat periodontal ligament cells were transplanted into rats with experimental periodontitis to observe their effects on periodontal bone repair. We found that the human β-defensin 3 gene-modified hPDLCs presented with high levels of osteogenesis-related gene expression and calcium deposition. Furthermore, the p38 MAPK pathway was activated in this process. In vivo, human β-defensin 3 gene-transfected rat PDLCs promoted bone repair in SD rats with periodontitis, and the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway might also have been involved. These findings demonstrate that human β-defensin 3 accelerates osteogenesis and that human β-defensin 3 gene modification may offer a potential approach to promote bone repair in patients with periodontitis.

Objective To summarize the epidemiological data of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in China from 2013 to 2017 and to analyze its molecular epidemiological characteristics in order to provide scientific basis for improving prevention and control measures. Methods China National Knowledge In-frastructure,Wanfang Database of China,Chinese VIP Journal Net and Pubmed were used to search epidemio-logical data of HFMD published in recent years. National notification data and surveillance data of HFMD in ma-inland China were obtained from the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China and the World Health Organization. Basic statistic tools were used for data analysis. Results From 2013 to 2016, the inci-dence rates of HFMD were 134. 37/100 000, 203. 16/100 000, 145. 30/100 000, 176. 62/100 000 and 140.46/100 000,respectively. Enterovirus 71(EV71),coxsackievirus A16(CA16),CA6 and CA10 were the predominant pathogens causing HFMD in the first half of 2013-2017. CA6 was the main epidemic strain in most areas of China. EV71 remained the predominant pathogen causing severe HFMD, but CA6, CA16 and CA10 were also critical pathogens of concern. The predominant strains of enteroviruses varied with year and region. Conclusion Although the EV71 vaccine has been approved since 2016, HFMD has not been controlled com-pletely in China. It is badly in need of more comprehensive surveillance of other types of enteroviruses and HFMD polyvaccine to improve the prevention and control of HFMD.

Objective To evaluate the effect of obesity on the incidence of surgical site infection (SSI) in patients with inguinal hernia after tensionless repair and its treatment. Methods Clinical data of 628 cases with inguinal hernia undergoing tensionless repair from Sep.2008 to May.2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The 628 patients were divided into obesity group (n=150) and non-obesity group (n=478),or SSI group (n=9) and non-SSI group(n=619).The effect of obesity on SSI after inguinal hernia and its treatment was analyzed.Re sults Among the 628 patients,SSC happened to 9 patients and the incidence was 1.43%.The rate of SSI in obesity group and non-obesity group was 4.00% (6/150) and 0.63% (3/478),respectively (x=6.960,P=0.002).BMI was 30.92±3.03 and 26.24±3.79 respectively in SSI group and non-SSI group (t=3.686,P=0.000).The difference has statistical significance.Factors such as diabetes, age, sex, albumin levels,American society of anesthesiology (ASA),type of hernia, method and duration of operation had no significant difference between SSI group and non-SSI group (P>0.05).Conclusion By analyzing the risk factors of SSI after tensionless hernia repair,we find that patients with obesity are more likely to have SSI.Strengthening prevention and early treatment is a key measure to prevent postoperative infection in these patients.

Objective To study the correlation between aldosterone/renin ratio (ARR) and heart rate variability (HRV),QT interval in patients with essential hypertension. Methods A total of 179 people were divided into two groups according to median number of ARR,and 24 h Holter,24 h ambulatory blood pressure,ECG,serum potassium, serum sodium were monitored, then HRV and QT interval index were compared between the two groups. Results There were significant differences between the two groups in SDNN,SDNN index,SDANN index,RMSSD,QTc,blood potassium, sodium (P < 0.05),while gender, age, diabetes, smoking,BMI,average heart rate, heart rate standard deviation showed no significant difference. At the same time, correction factors showed that ARR was still negatively correlated with SDNN,SDNN Index,SDANN Index,RMSSD,serum potassium (r =-0.444,-0.677,-0.381,-0.623,-0.432,P < 0.05),andwaspositivelycorrelated with QTc,serum sodium (r =0.391,0.379,P < 0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that SDNN,SDNN Index,SDANN Index were the independent factors related to ARR (P <0.05).Conclusion High aldosterone is closely related to heart rate variability reduction.
