OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Shenfukang capsules on clinical efficacy and renal function indexes of patients with renal insufficiency. METHODS:Totally 100 inpatients with renal insufficiency treated by Shenfukang cap-sules in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University during Feb. to Mar. 2015 were analyzed retrospectively in respects of general information of patients, therapy plan, renal function indexs before and after treatment and clinical effica-cy. The relationship of clinical efficacy with age and duration was also analyzed. RESULTS:There were 33 cases of acute re-nal insufficiency and 67 cases of chronic renal insufficiency. The route of administration of Shenfukang capsules was oral ad-ministration(97 cases,97.00%),the main dosage was 6 capsule/d(36 cases,36.00%),and treatment duration were 0-<7 days(39 cases)and 7-<15 days(49 cases). After treatment, the average serum creatinine concentration was lower than be-fore treatment, while mean GFR and Ccr were higher than before treatment, with statistical significance(P<0.05). The total response rate was 72.00%,and response rate of patients with acute renal insufficiency was 87.88% and significantly higher than 64.18% of patients with chronic renal insufficiency, with statistical significance(P<0.05). Among patients with ≤60 years old,the total response rate of patients with acute renal insufficiency was significantly higher than that of patients with chronic renal insufficiency, with statistical significance(P<0.05);among patients elder than 60 years old, there was no statistical significance in therapeutic efficacy between acute renal insufficiency and chronic renal insufficiency(P>0.05);among patients with chronic renal insufficiency, the total response rate of patients elder than 60 years old was significantly better than that of patients with ≤60 years old, with statistical significance (P<0.05). With the extension of treatment duration, the total response rate of patients with acute renal insufficiency was on the rise, and that of patients with chron-ic renal insufficiency increased first and then decreased. No obvious ADR was found during treatment. CONCLUSIONS:Shenfu-kang capsules can improve renal function in patients with renal insufficiency, and has definite curative effect on acute and chronic renal insufficiency with good security. The clinical efficacy may be related to age and treatment course.

Objective:To assess the validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the eleven-item Kutcher Adolescent Depression Scale (KADS-11)in Chinese adolescents, calculate its optimal cut-off value and the sensi-tivity and specificity, and explore the possibility of providing a useful tool to assess the severity of adolescent de-pressive symptoms. Methods:Totally 3180 students aged 11 -17 years were selected from schools in 6 provinces and Shanghai. All of them were asked to complete the KADS-11 and Children Depression Inventory (CDI). Students whose CDI scores were above 19 (including 19)were diagnosed with the DSM-IV criteria of depressive disorder,73 students from Shanghai sample were assessed with KADS-11 and CDI to analyze the test-retest reliabil-ity 1 month later. Results:Exploratory factor analysis showed that KADS-11 had 2 factors, and confirmatory factor analysis tested proved the 2-factor model fit better than the one-factor model. The KADS-11 total scores were posi-tively correlated with CDI total scores (r =0.74,P <0.01 ),and the KADS-11 scores were higher in depressive group than those in non-depressive group. The mean area under the curve (AUC)of KADS-11was 0.94,the mean area under the curve of each item ranged from 0.7 to 0.9.The optimal cut-off point of KADS-11 was total score≥9,sensitivity and specificity were 89% and 90% respectively. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the KADS-11 was 0.84,the spilt-half reliability coefficient was 0.71 (P <0.01),and the test-retest coefficient was 0.77 (P <0.01).Conclusion:The KADS-11 is appropriate for Chinese adolescents because of its good validity, reliability and diagnosis accuracy,it could be used to assess depressive symptoms for adolescents.

		                        			OBJECTIVE:
Observe the changes of small airway function in patients with rhinitis but without asthma and/or lower airway symptoms.

		                        			METHOD:
Between June 2008 and December 2012, we recruited 903 subjects, including 377 with allergic rhinitis (AR), 262 with non-allergic rhinitis (NAR) and 264 healthy subjects. All subjects underwent meticulous history taking, nasal examination, allergen skin prick test, blood routine test, serum total immunoglobin E assay, pulmonary ventilation function test and bronchial challenge test.

		                        			RESULT:
The indices of FEV1/FVC%, MEF25pred% and MMEFpred% were lower in AR group than in the control group (P < 0.05). The indices of FEV1/FVC, MMEFpred%, MEF25pred% and MEF50pred% were also lower in NAR group than in the control group (P < 0.05). According to the FVCpred% and FEV1pred%, there were no differences between rhinitis group and the control group (P > 0.05). The positive rate of airway hyperresponsiveness(AHR) in AR group and in NAR group was 12.2%, 6.1% respectively. Indices of small airway function were all lower in the AHR group than NAHR group in rhinitis.

		                        			CONCLUSION
Compared with healthy controls, small airway function in patients with rhinitis has apparent changes, part of rhinitis patients has AHR, and is associated with small airway function changes.

Objective To investigate the connection between sex hormones and gender differences and cognitive func-tion in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 80 eligible patients including 60 female and 20 male with schizophrenia conducted general information collection and Digit Span Task(DST) and Trial Making Test (TMT) mea-surement. The data o f the schizophrenic patients were collected and analyzed with sex hormones. Results There were significant differences between male and female schizophrenic patients in the age of first onset, course of disease, degree of education and antipsychotic treatment effects(P<0.05). The digit span-forward Task(DSF) score of female patients was higher than that of male patients, TMTA and TMTB were lower than those of male patients (P<0.05). In both male and female schizophrenic patients, E2 level was positively related to the age of first onset, and degree of education, oth-erwise,it was negatively related to the course of disease and antipsychotic treatment effects. In male patients, there was no connection between T level and the age of first onset, course of disease, degree of education and antipsychotic treat-ment effects. The estrogen level of male and female patients was positively correlated with the DSF and was negatively related to the TMTA and TMTB. The testosterone level of male patients was negatively correlated with the TMTand TMTB. Conclusion Estrogen may be related to gender differences in schizophrenia. Estrogen and testosterone have a certain correlation with cognitive function.

		                        			OBJECTIVE:
To compare the symptoms and lower airway inflammatory factors of patients with allergic rhinitis (AR), and to observe the effect of nasal irrigation in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.

		                        			METHOD:
Sixty-one cases diagnosed as AR after skin prick test (SPT)were selected and randomly divided into three groups: 17 patients in group A used nasal steroid spray; 21 cases in group B used nasal irrigation; 23 patients in group C combined ir rigation with nasal steroid. Before and after 3 months treatment, nasal visual analogue scale (VAS) score, rhino conjunctivtis quality of life questionnaire (RQLQ) score, fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) values were observed and compared in each group.

		                        			RESULT:
Before treatment, there is no statistically difference between three groups (P > 0.05). After 3 months of treatment, VAS, RQLQ, FENO of all patients was significantly decreased (P < 0.05); VAS, RQLQ score was not significantly different among the three groups (P > 0.05), FENO value has no statistically significant difference between group A and group B (P > 0.05), but were less than that in group C (P < 0.05).

		                        			CONCLUSION
Nasal irrigation can ameliorate nasal symptoms, improve quality of life, decrease lower airway inflammation of allergic rhinitis patients. Nasal irrigation is an effective treatment of allergic rhinitis. Nasal irrigation combined with nasal steroid can achieve more significant efficacy.

BACKGROUND:Hidden blood loss is an important risk for the intertrochanteric fracture patients, especial y the elderly patients, which can cause anemia in patients after internal fixation and can affect wound healing and patient recovery. OBJECTIVE:To compare the perioperative hidden blood loss and the risk factors of proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedul ary nail internal fixation and dynamic hip screw fixation for the treatment of femoral intertrochanteric fracture. METHODS:We selected 70 cases of femoral intertrochanteric fracture patients who treated with proximal femoral anti-rotation intramedul ary nail and dynamic hip screw fixation, including 21 patients with the age ≥ 80 years and 49 patients with the age<80 years;28 patients with the body mass index>30 kg/m2 and 42 patients with the body mass index ≤ 30 kg/m2;30 patients received anti-rotation intramedul ary nail internal fixation and 40 patients received dynamic hip screw fixation. The perioperative blood loss was calculated with Gross formula according to the changes of height, body mass index and the hematocrit before and after fixation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The mean total blood loss was 936 mL, the mean dominant blood loss was 237 mL and the mean hidden blood loss was 699 mL. The hidden blood loss was accounted for 74.7%in total blood loss. The dominant blood loss in the dynamic hip screw fixation group was higher than that in the anti-rotation intramedul ary nail internal fixation group, and the hidden blood loss was lower than the anti-rotation intramedul ary nail internal fixation group. The total blood loss and the hidden blood loss of the elderly patients were higher than those of the non-elderly patients;there was no significant difference between male and female patients, obesity and normal patients. The results indicate that hidden blood loss is the major reason for total blood loss of femoral intertrochanteric fracture after internal fixation. The hidden blood loss of anti-rotation intramedul ary nail internal fixation is larger than that of dynamic hip screw fixation, and elder is the risk factor for hidden blood loss.
