The generalized anxiety disorder scale-7 (GAD-7) was used to screen anxiety symptoms, and the patient health questionaire-8 (PHQ-8) was performed to screen depression symptoms, and the general situation questionnaire was used to collect clinical information of patients. The questionnairs were completed via the Questionnaire Star platform or paper questionnaire, and a database was established. The patients were divided into groups according to whether with anxiety and depression symptoms. Multivariable logistic regression models was performed to analyze the factors related to anxiety and depression. Results:A total of 516 questionnaires were distributed and collected, among which 9 questionnaires were incomplete and 507 questionnaires were valid, the effective rate of questionnaires was 98.26%. The detection rates of anxiety and depression symptoms in 507 patients with colorectal polyps were 21.50%(109/507) and 19.33%(98/507), respectively. The results of multivariable logistic analysis revealed that female ( OR=3.87, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 2.30 to 6.51, P<0.001), maximum diameter of polyp ( OR=1.74, 95% CI 1.14 to 2.67, P=0.011), perception of polyps as cancer ( OR=13.96, 95% CI 1.48 to 132.07, P=0.022), and the occurrence of gastrointestinal symptoms after polyp detection ( OR=5.43, 95% CI 1.74 to 16.92, P=0.004) were independent risk factors of anxiety in patients with colorectal polyps. Female ( OR=2.42, 95% CI 1.47 to 4.00, P=0.001), the number of polyps ( OR=1.07, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.13, P=0.028) and the count of gastrointestinal symptoms ( OR=2.04, 95% CI 1.34 to 3.10, P=0.001) were independent risk factors of depression in patients with colorectal polyps. Conclusion:Gender, polyp size, number of polyps, disease perception, and concomitant gastrointestinal symptoms are associated with anxiety and depression in patients with colorectal polyps.
3.Changes in sleep and psychological characteristics of patients with insomnia under exposure to noise pollution
Journal of Apoplexy and Nervous Diseases 2023;40(7):647-651
Objective Exposure to nocturnal traffic noise at the same levels can produce different effects on sleep and psychological health in different populations. This study compared the electroencephalographic characteristics during sleep of people with insomnia and those with normal sleep quality under the same levels of nocturnal traffic noise exposure to elucidate the different effects of noise pollution on different populations, and to provide individualized precise treatment plans for people with insomnia who are sensitive to noise pollution. Methods We selected people who lived near highways, railways, and aircraft routes for more than six months where noise levels were relatively fixed(50-60 decibels,10-15 seconds per time) during the nighttime sleep period (22:00-6:00). We included 26 people with normal sleep quality and 30 people with insomnia based on the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index. The Self-rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) were administered. Polysomnography (PSG) was used to monitor the spindle density index during sleep. The sleep quality and psychological status of the two groups were compared. Results There were no significant differences in demographic characteristics between the two groups under the same nocturnal noise exposure conditions. The incidence of anxiety and depression was significantly lower in the people with normal sleep quality than in those with insomnia(P<0.01). Among the 26 people with normal sleep quality,5(19.23%) had mild anxiety, and no one had moderate to severe anxiety or depression. Among the 30 people with insomnia,6(20.00%) had mild anxiety,15 (50.00%) had moderate anxiety, and 4(13.33%) had severe anxiety;3(10.00%) had mild depression,9(30.00%) had moderate depression, and 3(10%) had severe depression. PSG showed that the sleep spindle index of the normal sleep group was significantly higher than that of the insomnia group(25.43 vs 16.60,P<0.05),with no significant differences in the average duration of sleep spindles during sleep between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Under the same levels of nocturnal traffic noise exposure, people with insomnia have a higher incidence of anxiety and depression than people with normal sleep quality. Patients with insomnia with a reduced spindle density index have worse sleep quality under exposure to noise pollution.

Brassica juncea is a yearly or biennial vegetable in Brassica of Cruciferae. The yield and quality of its product organs are affected by flowering time. WRKY proteins family can respond to biological and abiotic stresses, developmental regulation and signal transduction. WRKY75 is an important member of WRKY family which can regulate flowering, but the flowering regulation mechanism in B. juncea has not been reported. In this study, a gene BjuWRKY75 in B. juncea was cloned, and the encoded-protein belonged to the group Ⅱ of WRKY protein with highly conserved domain. BjuWRKY75 had the highest homology with BriWRKY75 of Brassica nigra. The relative expression level of BjuWRKY75 in flowers was significantly higher than that in leaves and stems, and it was expressed stably in leaves. BjuWRKY75 protein was localized in the nucleus and interacted with the promoter of the flowering integrator BjuFT, which contained the W-box response element for the interaction between protein and DNA. Thus, it could transcriptionally activate the expression of the downstream genes. The overexpression of BjuWRKY75 in Arabidopsis led to earlier flowering significantly. In conclusion, BjuWRKY75 could directly target the promoter of BjuFT and accelerate flowering. These results may facilitate further study on the regulation of flowering molecules of BjuWRKY75.
