Pinellia ternata, belonging to the Pinellia genus within the Araceae family, is a medicinal plant due to its tubers. There are severe issues with unclear germplasm and mixed varieties in its cultivation, necessitating urgent new variety protection efforts. The distinctness, uniformity, and stability (DUS) testing of the plant variety is the basis for protecting new plant varieties, and the DUS test guidelines are the technical basis for DUS testing. To develop the DUS test guidelines for P. ternata, agronomic traits of 229 germplasm of P. ternata were observed and measured during its two growth stages over the years, and each character was graded and described. A total of 38 traits were selected as the test traits of the DUS test guideline for P. ternata. There were three plant traits, 19 leaf traits, six flower traits, two fruit traits, two tuber traits, five bulbil traits, and one ploidy trait. These traits could be divided into 22 quality characters, 12 quantitative characters, and four pseudo-quantitative characters, as well as seven groups, including plants, leaves, flowers, fruit, tubers, bulbils, and ploidy. By searching for standard traits, 10 standard varieties were ultimately determined. Preparing these guidelines will have great significance for reviewing and protecting P. ternata varieties, safeguarding breeders' rights, and promoting the development of the P. ternata industry.

Objective:To explore the potential mechanisms of the relationship between socioeconomic status(SES)and depression of Chinese older adults through the mediating role of digital participation and health lifestyle. Methods:Using the nationally representative data from the China Family Panel Studies in 2020,4 846 participants aged 60 years and older were analyzed in our study. We explored the potential mechanisms of the relationship between SES and depression of Chinese older adults in the digital era through a chain multiple mediating effects model. The KHB(The Karlson,Holm, and Breen)method was used to analyze the mediating role of digital participation and health lifestyle and the propor-tion of mediating effect between the two was also calculated.A series of robustness tests were further con-ducted and the fit of the model was checked by structural equation modeling. Results:The mean age of the 4 846 older adults included in this study was(68.20±5.07)years,48.06%of whom were female and 51.94%were male. The KHB results showed that both digital participation and health lifestyle could mediate the relationship between SES and depression of older adults(P<0.000 1)and the mediating role of health lifestyle accounted for a greater proportion than digital participation. And our study mainly found three potential pathways of SES and depression of older adults,including:(1)SES → digital par-ticipation → health lifestyle → depression,(2)SES → health lifestyle → depression,and(3)SES →depression.Structural equation modeling tests proved the overall fit of the model in this study.Conclu-sion:Our findings showed that in the digital age,in addition to the direct relationship between SES and depression of older adults, and the health lifestyle as a mediator between the relationship, there is also a sequential mediating role of digital participation and health lifestyle to reduce the risk of depression. The findings suggest that we should pay more attention to the probability of the digital divide exacerbating health inequalities and socioeconomic inequalities accumulation in the digital age and promote the co-progress of digital literacy and health literacy among older adults.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of flipped classroom combined with problem-based learning (PBL) on the standardized training for perioperative beside echocardiography. Methods:A total of 64 second-year standardized training students from the Department of Anesthesiology at Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, were selected between January 2021 and June 2022 and assigned to control group ( n=32) and test group ( n=32) using a random number table method. Control group employed the traditional teaching model, and test group utilized the flipped classroom combined with PBL. After a 3-month period of teaching standard views and hemodynamic evaluation of bedside echocardiography, the comprehensive theoretical and clinical practice scores (a score of≥80 was considered excellent or good) were compared between the two groups. Additionally, a questionnaire was distributed to assess students′ self-directed learning ability and initiative, interest in learning, efficiency in mastering professional knowledge, satisfaction with teaching, communication and collaboration skills, and clinical thinking ability. Results:Compared with control group, the students in test group showed significant improvements in both comprehensive theoretical ([87 ± 8] vs [80 ± 8]) and clinical practical ([86 ± 8] vs [78 ± 8]) echocardiography scores( P<0.05 or 0.01).The excellent or good rate for comprehensive theoretical scores (88% vs 47%) and clinical practice scores (84% vs 50%) was significantly higher in test group than in control group( P<0.05 or 0.01).A total of 64 questionnaires were distributed, and all of them were returned, yielding a response rate of 100%. The students in test group demonstrated enhanced self-directed learning ability and initiative (94% vs 69%), increased interest in learning (91% vs 66%), improved efficiency in mastering professional knowledge (97% vs 75%), greater satisfaction with teaching (94% vs 62%), enhanced communication and collaboration skills (84% vs 62%), and improved clinical thinking ability (88% vs 59%) compared to control group ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The combination of a flipped classroom and PBL produces better effect than traditional teaching methods when used for standardized training for perioperative bedside echocardiography.

Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and clinical efficacy of deformed complex vertebral osteotomy (DCVO) technique on the treatment of angular kyphosis of cured spinal tuberculosis. Methods:A retrospective study was performed on patients with angular kyphosis of cured spinal tuberculosis who underwent the DCVO technique or posterior vertebral column resection (PVCR) technique from Jan, 2007 to Jan, 2019. 33 patients were included, 18 males and 15 females, the average age was 39.5±15.0 years old (ranged 9-78 years old). The vertebral deformity in thoracic vertebrae 14 cases, thoracolumbar vertebrae 16 cases, and lumbar vertebrae 3 cases. 20 cases underwent the DCVO technique, while 13 cases underwent PVCR technique. For DCVO group, the multiple malformed vertebrae were considered a malformed complex, and a larger range and angle wedge osteotomy was performed within the complex using the DCVO technique. PVCR technique would resect the whole deformed vertebrae, and subsequently brought the two separated spinal columns together with instruments and titanium mesh. The intro-operative blood loss, operating time and complications were recorded. The radiological measurements included preoperative and postoperative spinopelvic parameters, which including thoracic kyphosis (TK), lumbar lordosis (LL), sagittal vertical axis (SVA), pelvic incidence (PI), pelvic tilt (PT), sacral slope (SS) and segmental kyphosis. The recovery of neurological function was evaluated by Frankle classification. Results:All patients were followed up for 7-72 months. Comparing with the cases underwent PVCR technique, the DCVO group has a significantly lower blood loss (1315.00±462.57 ml), operating time (293.00±83.86 min) and complications rate (1.5%). At the time of preoperation, postoperation and last follow-up, the deformity angle of DCVO group was 96.80°±6.32°, 29.10°±6.96°and 29.05°±6.49°, which gained an average 69.9% correction rate. The statistical analysis suggested that deformity angle was enormously corrected. And there was an insignificant difference between DCVO group and PVCR group. Meanwhile, the preoperative, postoperative and follow-up TK of DCVO group was 96.96°±29.13°, 37.15°±4.88° and 37.00°±3.89°respectively, whosecorrection rate was 67.1%; LL was 66.70°±21.21°, 42.25°±5.53° and 41.90°±4.98°, which have a significant difference between pre-operation and post-operation/follow-up ( F=23.997, P<0.001) ; SVA was 75.95±18.63 mm, 16.30±6.88 mm and 16.55±7.30 mm. PI was 47.50°±6.12°, 47.35°±5.54°and 47.90°±5.93°, PT was 37.25°±9.63°, 18.50°±1.99° and 19.00°±1.65°; SS was 10.25°±8.27°, 29.15°±5.91° and 28.85°±5.77°. The sagittal and spinopelvic parameters of two groups improved significantly at postoperation and follow-up. No obviously difference of spinal parameters was found between two groups at preoperation and postoperation. Both groups have cases with dysneuria. And all of these cases achieved different degrees of recovery at follow-up. Conclusion:The use of DCVO technique for the treatment of post-tubercular angular kyphosis is safe and efficiency. DCVO leads a better clinical outcomes and lower complication rate than VCR technique.

8. Retrospective analysis of voriconazole in the monitoring of therapeutic drugs in patients with liver dysfunction

AIM: To evaluate relationship between dosing schedules and safety of voriconazole by analyzing the monitoring results of voriconazole in patients with liver dysfunction, and to provide reference for the clinical individualized medication. METHODS: The blood concentration and safety information of voriconazole in patients with liver dysfunction was searched in PubMed, Cochrane Library, Wanfang, Weipu, and Chinese Journal Full-text Database from the establishment of the databases to December 2019, the dosing schedule and safety range of voriconazole for patients with liver dysfunction was analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 10 literatures were selected, 5 of which were multi-sample retrospective studies and 1 of which was prospective study, and the remaining 4 were case reports. In Child-Pugh grade C liver dysfunction, a maintenance dose of 100 mg q12h is more secure. The incidence of adverse reactions of voriconazole is generally within 7 days. When the target trough concentration is less than 5 mg/L or 5.3 mg/L, the incidence of adverse reactions is still high. The main adverse reactions include neurotoxicity, hallucinations, visual disturbances, gastrointestinal reactions and rash. CONCLUSION: The dose of voriconazole in patients with liver dysfunction should be reduced, and the drug concentration should be monitored in a timely manner. It is recommended that on the basis of ensuring the efficacy, trough concentration can be further reduced to reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions in patients with liver dysfunction.

To explore the diagnostic value of copeptin (CPP) in cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) in rats and the association between CPP and impairment of heart and kidney, 60 male SD rats were randomly divided into blank control group (CK group), kidney failure group (SNX group), heart failure group (MI group), and CRS group. Heart and kidney function and their histology changes in rats from each group were detected. The correlation between serum CPP and heart and kidney function indexes was performed with Pearson correlation analysis. The HE staining of heart and kidney showed that the tissue lesion was more severe in CRS group than in SNX group and MI group. There was a significant positive correlation between serum CPP and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) (r=0.638, P<0.05). No correlation was observed between serum CPP and cardiac function index (left ventricular systolic pressure, left ventricular diastolic pressure, left ventricular end-diastolic pressure) or renal function index (serum creatinine, urine creatinine, blood urea nitrogen) (r=0.512, 0.189, -0.063, 0.207, 0.290, 0.595, respectively, all P>0.05). The CPP level is associated with the degree of heart and kidney damage in CRS rats.
