Objective: To investigate the feasibility of magnetic anastomosis for uretero-ileal anastomosis using experimental rabbit models. Methods: Six experimental rabbits were used as the models. The lower part of the left ureter was cut with scissors, the daughter magnet (DM) was placed in the middle of the ureter, and the distal end of the ureter was ligated. After that, the ileum wall was opened, the parent magnet (PM) was inserted through it,the positions of the PM and DM were adjusted so that their ends were attracted to each other, and then ileum wall incision was sutured. The operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications and magnet discharge time were recorded. Two weeks after operation, left ureterography was performed to obtain the specimens of the uretero-ileal anastomosis, and to observe the patency of the anastomosis. The formation of the anastomosis was observed with naked eyes and light microscope. Results: Uretero-ileal magnetic anastomosis was performed successfully in 6 experimental rabbits. The operation time was 28-39(32.50±3.94) min,and the intraoperative blood loss was less than 5 mL.The rabbits recovered well after operation, and no complications were observed. All animals survived to the end point of observation. The disconnection time of magnet after operation was 9-13(10.83±1.72) days. The gross specimen showed that the anastomosis was patent. The histological observation showed that the mucosa of the anastomosis was continuous and smooth, and the anastomosis was well formed. Conclusion: Magnetic anastomosis is feasible for uretero-ileal anastomosis with simple operation and good anastomosis formation. After further experimental verification, this technique is expected to be used in clinical practice.

With the process of China’s aging population intensifying, palliative care, as an important guarantee for improving the quality of life of terminally ill patients, is receiving more and more social attention, and the demand is constantly increasing. Palliative care needs versatile professionals, and general education can enhance people’s awareness and understanding of it, enabling more people to understand, accept, and participate in palliative care. With the advancement of knowledge and technology in palliative care, the traditional cramming education models are no longer able to meet the actual needs. Therefore, there is an urgent need to innovate palliative care education strategies. By analyzing the current problems in the general education of palliative care in China, this paper proposed thoughts and suggestions for general and innovative education of palliative care in several aspects, such as establishing general and innovative education systems and evaluation systems of palliative care, diversifying educational contents and methods, strengthening medical staffs training, promoting diversified student groups, and strengthening the popularization of palliative care knowledge among the public.

Objective To explore the relationship between preoperative coronary angiography and postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI) in cardiac surgery. Methods The clinical data of patients who underwent coronary angiography within 30 days before cardiac surgery in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University from January 2015 to April 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to explore the relationship between the interval from preoperative coronary angiography to cardiac surgery and postoperative AKI. Results Finally 1 112 patients were collected, including 700 males and 412 females, with a median age of 61 (55, 66) years. The incidence of postoperative AKI was 40.8% (454/1 112), of which grade 2-3 AKI accounted for 11.9%. Multivariate analysis showed that age (OR=1.049, 95%CI 1.022-1.077, P<0.001), body mass index (OR=1.065, 95%CI 1.010-1.123, P=0.020) and time interval between preoperative coronary angiography and cardiac surgery within 24 hours (OR=1.625, 95%CI 1.116-2.364, P=0.011) were independent predictors of postoperative AKI. Patients who underwent coronary angiography within 24 hours before surgery had a 10.6% higher incidence of postoperative AKI compared to those who underwent angiography ≥24 hours before surgery (P=0.004). Patients who underwent valve surgery with or without coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) had a higher risk of AKI than those who only underwent CABG. The in-hospital stay of patients who developed AKI was 2 days longer than those without AKI. However, undergoing coronary angiography within 24 hours before cardiac surgery did not prolong the length of ICU stay or hospital stay, nor did it increase the risk of death or renal failure after the operation. Conclusion Undergoing coronary angiography within 24 hours before cardiac surgery increases the risk of postoperative AKI.

Objective:To understand the status, evaluation methods and risk factors of economic toxicity in patients with head and neck cancer, in order to provide reference for the construction of follow-up intervention programs. Methods:This scoping review was conducted under the Joanna Briggs Institute in Australia guidelines. Relevant studies were searched in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Scopus, CINAHL, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang Database, VIP Database and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database. Chinese and English literature was screened and summarized from inception to September 21, 2023.Results:A total of 14 articles were included, and the economic toxicity of patients with head and neck cancer was more serious. The evaluation methods were mainly divided into scale evaluation and database data calculation. The risk factors of economic toxicity in patients with head and neck cancer included three aspects: demographic factors such as young age, low education and low income; disease and treatment-related factors such as tumor location in larynx/hypopharynx, current/past use of tube feeding, advanced tumor/distant metastasis; social support factors such as insufficient social security, and so on.Conclusions:Future studies should pay more attention to economic toxicity in patients with head and neck cancer, standardize the selection of assessment tools to reduce heterogeneity, and develop individualized intervention measures for the risk factors of economic toxicity in patients with head and neck cancer, in order to reduce the occurrence of economic toxicity in patients with head and neck cancer.
