To analyze the Non-duplicate CRAB strains isolated from clinical specimens between June and December 2023 at Huai'an First People's Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University were retrospectively collected. The minimum inhibitory concentrations of commonly used antimicrobial agents against these strains were determined using the broth microdilution method. A total of 48 CRAB strains were included. COL-based combination regimens all exhibited favorable synergistic or additive effects against CRAB. Among them, the COL+IPM group showed the highest synergistic rate (83.3%), while the COL+AMK and COL+CSL groups primarily demonstrated additive effects (additive rates of 66.7% and 70.8%, respectively). TGC-based combination regimens mainly exhibited additive or indifferent effects, with the TGC+CSL group showing the highest additive rate (75.0%) and the TGC+AMK group showing the highest indifferent rate (70.8%). No antagonistic effects were observed in any of the six combination regimens. Further analysis revealed that the antibacterial effect of the COL+IPM group against CRAB was significantly different from that of the other combination regimens ( The combination of COL and IPM demonstrates the optimal synergistic antibacterial effect against CRAB, with the highest synergistic rate, and can be used as an empirical combination regimen for the clinical treatment of CRAB infections.

Radiotherapy can cause functional and morphological changes in the brain tissues of patients with primary or metastatic malignant brain tumors, leading to radiation-induced brain injury. However, the pathogenesis of radiation-induced brain injury has not yet been unanimously determined, and its research advances and treatment protocols are yet to be elucidated and improved. In this study, we explore the pathogenesis of radiation-induced brain injury from the perspective of vascular injury, inflammatory reactions, neuronal dysfunction, glial cell injury, and gut microbiota and reviewed the advances in research on its treatment and prevention. The purpose is to provide a reference and theoretical basis for the research and clinical diagnosis and treatment of radiation-induced brain injury.

Objective We propose a low-dose CT reconstruction method using partial differential equation (PDE) denoising under high-dimensional constraints. Methods The projection data were mapped into a high-dimensional space to construct a high-dimensional representation of the data, which were updated by moving the points in the high-dimensional space. The data were denoised using partial differential equations and the CT image was reconstructed using the FBP algorithm. Results Compared with those by FBP, PWLS-QM and TGV-WLS methods, the relative root mean square error of the Shepp-Logan image reconstructed by the proposed method were reduced by 68.87%, 50.15% and 27.36%, the structural similarity values were increased by 23.50%, 8.83% and 1.62%, and the feature similarity values were increased by 17.30%, 2.71% and 2.82%, respectively. For clinical image reconstruction, the proposed method, as compared with FBP, PWLS-QM and TGV-WLS methods, resulted in reduction of the relative root mean square error by 42.09%, 31.04%and 21.93%, increased the structural similarity values by 18.33%, 13.45% and 4.63%, and increased the feature similarity values by 3.13%, 1.46% and 1.10%, respectively. Conclusion The new method can effectively reduce the streak artifacts and noises while maintaining the spatial resolution in reconstructed low-dose CT images.

Based on the isolation and identification of Nosema ceranae(N.ceranae)in honeybees, this study optimized the synthesis method of nano-FeS derived from albumen and explored in vitro and in vivo antifungal effects against N.ceranae.Pathogens were isolated from infected honeybee colonies and identified as N.ceranae using morphological and molecular biology techniques. In vitro experiments were conducted to confirm the antifungal effects of nano-FeS against N.ceranae and elucidate the mechanism. In vivo experiments were carried out to validate the therapeutic effects of nano-FeS against N.ceranae infection.Nano-FeS was synthesized using the solvothermal method with an optimal scheme determined through orthogonal experiments, with an average par-ticle size of 75 nm.Flow cytometry and fluorescence staining experiments confirmed that nano-FeS induced apoptosis and necrosis in N.ceranae.After N.ceranae was exposed to nano-FeS,intracellu-lar iron accumulation, disruption of the glutathione and glutathione peroxidase antioxidant system, and subsequent ROS accumulation were observed, ultimately leading to lipid peroxidation of cell membranes. In vivo experiments demonstrated reduced mortality and decreased spore counts in the midgut of honeybees fed with nano-FeS.Transcriptome analysis and qPCR revealed the impact of nano-FeS on gene expression in the N.ceranae infected honeybee midgut. This study presented a promising alternative antifungal agent for N.ceranae infection in honeybees and elucidated the an-tifungal mechanism of nano-FeS related to ferroptosis.Additionally, the study found a positive cor-relation between the mass concentration of nano-FeS and its antifungal effectiveness against N.ceranae.

ObjectiveTo analyze the changing trend of cerebrovascular disease burden in Minhang District of Shanghai from 1996 to 2021, and to provide scientific evidence for government to formulate targeted cerebrovascular disease prevention and control strategies. MethodsMortality, years of life lost(YLL), years of lived with disability(YLD) and disability⁃adjusted life years(DALY) were used to evaluate the burden of cerebrovascular diseases in Minhang District. Joinpoint linear regression was used to analyze the trend of disease burden. ResultsFrom 1996 to 2021, the YLL rate of cerebrovascular diseases in Minhang District showed a downward trend (whole population: APC=-1.69%, t=-6.9, P<0.05), The YLD rate of cerebrovascular diseases showed a slow upward trend (whole population: APC=1.17%, t=3.5, P<0.05), The DALY rate of cerebrovascular diseases showed a downward trend, and fluctuated since 2003 (whole population: APC= -1.43%, t=-5.6, P<0.05). The YLL rate of cerebrovascular diseases in men was higher than that in women, and the YLD rate of cerebrovascular diseases in women was higher than that in men. After 2014, the DALY of cerebrovascular diseases in men was higher than that in women. With the increase of age, the burden of cerebrovascular diseases increased, and the burden of disease increased significantly in the age group above 70. ConclusionThe burden of cerebrovascular diseases in Minhang District is at a high level, and there are differences in age, gender and other aspects. Measures such as screening, intervention and rehabilitation need to be improved to reduce disability and premature death caused by cerebrovascular diseases and to reduce the burden of cerebrovascular diseases on individuals, families and society.

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is one of the most important regulators in immune system, as it plays an essential part both in immune activation and suppression. However, as the first immunotherapy drug approved for the treatment of cancer, IL-2 is limited in clinical application by the serious adverse reactions. The long-felt needs in clinical practice, including prolonged half-lives, T cell subset specificity, and toxicity reduction can be achieved by polyethylene glycol (PEG) modification, Fc fusing, or protein mutation of IL-2. NKTR-214, the most advanced IL-2 pathway-targeted agent in clinical development for oncology, shows exciting results in treatment of melanoma in combination with nivolumab. At the same time, many more other modified molecules against cancer and autoimmune diseases are being tested in clinical research, an exciting future lying ahead for IL-2 therapeutics.
