1.Investigation of radon exposure hazard awareness among non-uranium miners in Chongqing, China

		                        			Objective To investigate the awareness of radon exposure hazards among non-uranium miners in Chongqing, China. Methods A survey was conducted among 177 male miners from eight non-uranium metal mines in Chongqing to collect data on basic information, personal habits, and the rate of radon awareness. Factors affecting radon awareness were analyzed using chi-square test and logistic regression model. Results The awareness rate of radon among miners was 23.73%. The chi-square test indicated significant difference in the radon awareness rate among miners with different levels of education (χ2 = 10.28, P < 0.05), while there was no significant difference across different ages, years of work, labor relations, job categories, and types of miners (P > 0.05). Binary logistic regression analysis showed that a college (junior college) or higher level of education, a high school level of education, and working in mines were factors affecting the radon awareness among miners (χ2 = 4.030, 9.150, 11.776, P < 0.05). Conclusion Miners lack awareness of radon, and there is an urgent need to strengthen education and propaganda regarding the hazards of radon.

One of the “less traditional” designs that have gained increasing interest in the last decade is non-inferiority trials. Whilst the concept might appear straightforward, the design and interpretation of non-inferiority trials can be challenging. 5.Monitoring and risk assessment of total α and β radioactivity levels in drinking water in the nine districts of metropolitan Chongqing in 2019-2021

		                        			Objective  To investigate the radioactivity levels of total α and total β in drinking water in nine districts of Chongqing City from 2019 to 2021, and to provide reference for the risk monitoring of drinking water in the metropolitan areas of Chongqing.  Methods  The total α and total β radioactivity levels in water samples were determined by the comparative measurement method and the thin source deposit method in GB/T5750.13-2006 “Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water-Radiological Parameters”. The monitoring results were assessed according to GB5749-2006 “Standards for Drinking Water Quality” and the fourth edition of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality.  Results  From 2019 to 2021, the total α activity concentration of the water samples measured in the nine districts of metropolitan Chongqing ranged from 0.002 to 0.039 Bq /L, and the total β activity concentration ranged from 0.015 to 0.190 Bq /L. There was no significant difference in the activity concentration (tα=0.545, Pα=0.591; tβ=-1.438, Pβ=0.163>0.05). From 2019 to 2021, the average value of total α radioactivity decreased year by year and its activity value was relatively low, indicating a low health risk. However, the average value of total β radioactivity increased year by year, which should be paid attention to.  Conclusion The total α and total β radioactivity in water samples measured in the present study are lower than the standard recommended limits. The estimated annual average effective dose of radiation caused by drinking water is 0.005-0.010 mSv, which is lower than the limit of 0.1 mSv recommended by WHO, and this radioactivity level will not have an impact on the health of residents. However, the total β radioactivity level of the monitoring points in Banan and Shapingba is relatively high compared to other jurisdictions, and further tracking and monitoring should be carried out.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
6.Study on analgesic effect of anterior quadratus lumborum block at lateral supra-arcuate ligament and transversus abdominis plane block in analgesia in patients undergoing laparoscopic partial hepatectomy

		                        			Objective To observe the effect of ultrasound-guided anterior quadratus lumborum block at lateral supra-arcuate ligament(QLB-LSAL)and transversus abdominis plane block(TAPB)on analgesia and recovery quality after laparoscopic partial hepatectomy(LPH).Methods Fifty-eight patients underwent elective LPH were selected and divided into the quadratus lumborum group or the transversus abdominis group randomly,with 29 patients in each group.The quadratus lumborum group received bilateral QLB-LSAL,and the transversus abdominis group received bilateral subcostal TAPB block before surgery.Both groups received 20 mL of 0.33%ropivacaine on each side.All patients used patient-controlled intravenous analgesia(PCIA)postoperatively.The numeric rating scale(NRS)scores for rest and movement were recorded at 2,4,6,12,24 and 48 hours postoperatively,as well as the Quality of Recovery-15(QoR-15)scores at 1 day preoperatively,1 and 3 days postoperatively.The perioperative anesthetic agent consumption,PCIA pressing frequency,remedial analgesia use in 48 h,postoperative nausea and vomiting(PONV)incidence and time of first out-of-bed mobilization were also recorded.Results Compared with the transversus abdominis group,the quadratus lumborum group had lower movement NRS scores at 2,4,6,12,24 and 48 hours postoperatively,and lower rest NRS scores at 2,4,6,12 and 24 hours postoperatively(P<0.05).The quadratus lumborum group had higher QoR-15 scores at 1 and 3 days postoperatively(P<0.05).Patients in the quadratus lumborum group had reduced perioperative remifentanil and sufentanil consumption,postoperative 48-hour rescue analgesia use,PCIA pressing frequency,PONV incidence and time of first out-of-bed mobilization(P<0.05).Conclusion QLB-LSAL block provides superior analgesic effects and recovery quality compared to TAPB block after LPH.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
7.Discussion on results of national measurement capability comparison assessment for gross α and gross β radioactivity in water and calculation formulas for spike recovery

		                        			Objective To summarize and analyze the difficulties and key points in the measurement of gross α and gross β radioactivity in water based on the results of national measurement capability comparison assessment, and provide the basis and reference for the future work and the development of new local standards. Methods The research team participated in the comparison assessment for measurement of the gross radioactivity in water samples organized by National Institute for Radiological Protection, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. According to the comparison assessment results and the content in the national standard GB/T 5750.13—2023 (published draft), the steps of spike recovery involved during the measurement were analyzed and discussed. Two different formulas used for spike recovery calculation were analyzed for their impact on the final measurement results. Results When the spike recovery F(derived) derived from the formulas was used for result calculation, the spike recovery ranged as follows: gross α: 63.00%−84.60%, and gross β: 95.0%−99.1%; 3/6 of the comparison results were determined as excellent and 3/6 as pass as a whole (among them, 4 were excellent and 2 were pass for both single gross α assessment items and single gross β assessment items). When the spike recovery F from the GB/T 5750.13—2023 (published draft) was used for result calculation, the spike recovery ranged as follows: gross α: 39.69%−71.57%, and gross β: 90.25%−98.21%; 5/6 of the comparison results were determined as fail and 1/6 as pass (among them, 5 were fail and 1 was pass for single gross α assessment items; 5 were excellent and 1 was pass for single gross β assessment items). When two different formulas were used for spike recovery calculation, there was a significant difference in gross α radioactivity measurement (t = 4.27, P = 0.03 < 0.05), but there was no significant difference in gross β radioactivity measurement (t = 0.667, P = 0.524 > 0.05). Conclusion In the measurement of gross α and gross β radioactivity in water, appropriate reference to the spike recovery has a great influence on the measurement results. 8.Antibacterial magnesium oxide-calcium phosphate composite coating prepared by combining electrodeposition and sol-gel impregnation

		                        			BACKGROUND:Calcium phosphate(CaP)coatings are widely used to improve the integration of titanium implants into bone but these coatings are associated with risks of infection.It is thus desirable to confer antibacterial properties to CaP coatings. OBJECTIVE:To prepare CaP-MgO composite coatings by impregnating magnesium oxide(MgO)sol into CaP coatings and assess the in vitro antibacterial activities and cytocompatibility. METHODS:An electrolyte was determined by titration and used for CaP coating electrodeposition on titanium(referred to as Ti-CaP).MgO was impregnated into the coating by immersing in an MgO sol with different mass fractions(15%,30%,50%)and subsequently calcined to form MgO-CaP composite coatings,which were recorded as Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg,respectively.Microstructure,tensile properties,critical load,and Mg2+ release of coatings in vitro were characterized.Antibacterial activity was assayed using spread plate method by culturing S.aureus on the pure titanium sheet surface and Ti-CaP,Ti-Cap-15mg,Ti-Cap-30mg and Ti-Cap-50mg surfaces for 24 and 48 hours.Mouse osteoblast suspension was inoculated on pure titanium sheets and Ti-CaP,Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg coated titanium sheets,respectively.Cell proliferation was detected by CCK-8 assay,and cell survival rate was calculated.The morphology of composite coating soaked in DMEM was also observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1)Homogeneous,microporous CaP coatings consisting of octacaclium phosphate crystal flakes were prepared on titanium by electrodeposition.After sol impregnation-calcination,MgO aggregates were filled into the inter-flake voids.The extent of MgO filling and Mg concentration in the coating increased with the number of sol impregnation procedures.When immersed in phosphate buffered saline,all composite coatings actively released Mg2+ within 1 day;subsequently,the Mg2+ release slowed down on day 3.A small amount of Mg2+ release was still detected on day 7.The yield strength,tensile strength and fracture growth rate of Ti-CaP-30Mg coated titanium were not significantly different from those of pure titanium(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the critical load of Ti-CaP,Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg groups(P>0.05).(2)Except that pure titanium sheet and Ti-CaP had no antibacterial properties,the other samples had good antibacterial properties,and the antibacterial rate increased with the increase of MgO content in the coating.(3)After 1 and 3 days of co-culture,the cell survival rate of Ti-CaP-15Mg,Ti-CaP-30Mg and Ti-CaP-50Mg groups was lower than that of pure titanium group and Ti-CaP group(P<0.05).After 5 and 7 days of culture,there was no significant difference in cell survival rate among five groups(P>0.05).The content of MgO in the coating decreased gradually with the time of immersion in the medium.(4)The MgO sol impregnation added antibacterial properties to the CaP coatings while retained their biocompatibility.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
9.Research advances in the clinical phenotypic variation of Marfan syndrome

		                        			Marfan syndrome(MFS) is an autosomal dominant connective tissue disease caused by genetic mutation, and its pathogenesis has not been fully clarified. Due to the complex and unpredictable clinical phenotype of MFS, the diagnosis of preclinical or atypical patients becomes difficult, and it is easy to misdiagnose, which delaying the diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, it is of great significance to clarify the mechanism of MFS phenotypic variation for the diagnosis, phenotypic prediction and prognosis evaluation of MFS patients.
