Talents are the main force for the development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), and the construction of TCM talents and the reformation of talent evaluation system are essential to promote the inheritance and innovation of TCM. At present, we are still exploring and developing in the fields of the formulation, implementation and evaluation indicators of TCM talent evaluation system. However, there are shortcomings and difficulties. For instance, insufficient stratification in the evaluation, excessive emphasis on the quantity of achievements, neglecting the quality of the achievements and the actual contribution, imperfect assessment indicators, and the weak characteristics of TCM. Therefore, national ministries and commissions have jointly issued a document requesting to break the four only and set a new standard, in order to promote the construction of a scientific and technological talent evaluation system oriented by innovation value, ability and contribution. For the evaluation of TCM clinical talents, China Association for Science and Technology commissioned China Association of Chinese Medicine to build the China Clinical Cases Library of TCM(CCCL-TCM), which aims at collecting the most authoritative and representative TCM clinical cases and exploring the advantages of applying clinical cases as masterpiece of achievement in TCM clinical talents evaluation. CCCL-TCM can promote the construction of a talent evaluation system that is more in line with the development characteristics of TCM industry, and to carry out relevant pilot in TCM colleges and institutions across the country in order to promote the reformation of TCM talent evaluation system.

Cardio-oncology is an emerging cross-discipline, which has received extensive attention and rapid development at home and abroad in recent years, while the construction of related disciplines in the field of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is still in its initial stage. By sorting out the construction of oncology and cardiology related disciplines at home and abroad at this stage, and clarifying the significance and main research contents of the discipline, it is proposed that the construction of TCM related disciplines should be oriented to the four main aspects, including clinical practice, scientific research, talent training and promotion of cultural characteristics. Therefore, actively carrying out multidisciplinary crossing, cultivating related professional talent team, and forming TCM diagnosis and treatment guidelines or consensus to support clinical practice is the essential foundation for the construction of TCM cardio-oncology discipline. Meanwhile, fully exploring the characteristics and advantages of TCM is the key to the construction process of the discipline, such as writing and summarising and analysing relevant high-quality clinical case reports of TCM for evidence-based optimisation, as well as widely applying the concept of "treating disease before it arises" of TCM characteristics to the clinical prevention and treatment of the relevant diseases and scientific research, etc., so as to comprehensively guarantee the development of the discipline of TCM cardio-oncology.

The neural stimulator is a core component of animal robots. While the control effect of animal robots is influenced by various factors, the performance of the neural stimulator plays a decisive role in regulating animal robots. In order to optimize animal robots, embedded neural stimulators had been developed using flexible printed circuit board technology. This innovation not only enabled the stimulator to generate parameter-adjustable biphasic current pulses through control signals, but also optimized its carrying mode, material, and size, overcoming the disadvantages of traditional backpack or head-inserted stimulators, which have poor concealment and are prone to infection. Static, in vitro, and in vivo performance tests of the stimulator demonstrated that it not only had precise pulse waveform output capability, but also was lightweight and small in size. It had excellent in vivo performance in both laboratory and outdoor environments. Our study has high practical significance for the application of animal robots.

A number of research has shown that the plant polyphenol resveratrol, one of the most prominent small molecules, has beneficial protective effects in multiple organisms, including worms, flies, and killifish. To understand the effects of resveratrol on lifespan,we evaluated its effects in the silkworm Bombyx mori.In this study,we found that lifespan was significantly prolonged in both female and male silkworms treated with resveratrol.Silkworm larval weight was significantly increased from day 3 of the 5th larval instar(L5D3) to day 7 of the 5th larval instar (L5D7).However,the weight of the pupa, cocoon, and total cocoon was not significantly different in female silkworms with resveratrol treatment than that in controls.Meanwhile, resveratrol significantly improved the thermotolerance of the silkworms, which enhanced their survival rate. Moreover, antioxidant activity was increased by resveratrol in both female and male silkworms.Furthermore,an antioxidant-related signalling pathway,SIRT7-FoxO-GST,was activated in silkworms with resveratrol treatment.Collectively, these results help us to understand the molecular pathways underlying resveratrol induced pro-longevity effects and indicate that silkworm is a promising animal model for evaluating the effects of lifespan-extending drugs.

Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of 125I radioactive seed implantation in the treatment of mediastinal lymph node metastasis. Methods: Records of 53 patients enrolled in Shaanxi Provincial Tumor Hospital from June 2014 to June 2018 with me-diastinal lymph node metastasis treated by computed tomography (CT)-guided 125I seed implantation were analyzed retrospectively. The preoperative treatment planning system was validated after the surgery. Intraoperative and post-operative complications were re-corded. The improvement in quality of life was observed. Chest CT follow-up was conducted 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment. The local focus control was evaluated. The median survival and total survival were recorded, and the survival prognosis and causes of death were analyzed. Results: The median survival time was 254 days (8.5 months), one-year survival rate was 48.67%, and complete and partial response rate was 83.02% (44/53). Multivariate Cox model analysis showed that the survival progno-sis was related to the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) score, distant metastasis at the time of implantation, concurrent chemotherapy after implantation, and secondary seed implantation (P<0.05). The rates of developing pneumothorax and hemoptysis during and after the surgery were 20.75% (11/55) and 13.20% (7/55), respectively. No patients died. After implantation, the remission rate of cough, shortness of breath, pain, hoarseness, and superior vena cava syndrome was 60.00%-82.61%. Conclusions: CT-guid-ed 125I seed implantation in the treatment of mediastinal lymph node metastasis has the advantages of minimal trauma, remarkable cu-rative effect, safety, and feasibility. It has important application value and is worthy of further clinical application.
