Malocclusion, identified by the World Health Organization(WHO)as one of three major oral diseases, profoundly impacts the dental-maxillofacial functions, facial esthetics, and long-term development of~260 million children in China.Beyond its physical manifestations, malocclusion also significantly influences the psycho-social well-being of these children.Timely intervention in malocclusion can foster an environment conducive to dental-maxillofacial development and substantially decrease the incidence of malocclusion or reduce the severity and complexity of malocclusion in the permanent dentition,by mitigating the negative impact of abnormal environmental influences on the growth.Early orthodontic treatment encompasses accurate identification and treatment of dental and maxillofacial morphological and functional abnormalities during various stages of dental-maxillofacial development, ranging from fetal stages to the early permanent dentition phase. From an economic and societal standpoint, the urgency for effective early orthodontic treatments for malocclusions in childhood cannot be overstated, underlining its profound practical and social importance. This consensus paper discusses the characteristics and the detrimental effects of malocclusion in children, emphasizing critical need for early treatment. It elaborates on corresponding core principles and fundamental approaches in early orthodontics, proposing comprehensive guidance for preventive and interceptive orthodontic treatment, serving as a reference for clinicians engaged in early orthodontic treatment.

Clinical cases of necrotizing fasciitis and complete urethral defects in the scrotal region are rare. The diagnosis and treatment are very challenging. This article reports one case. The patient was admitted to the hospital after 1 week of poor urination and 2 days of scrotal swelling, and then underwent bladder diversion, surgical debridement, vacuum-sealing drainage, and wound closure. After four weeks, the wound healed and the patient was discharged. Six months later after surgery, scrotal urethral reconstruction was performed using a circular phimosis pedicled skin flap graft to repair the 12 cm urethral defect. The urethral catheter was removed after three weeks. The bladder fistula tube was removed after 5 weeks. During the follow-up of one year, there was no occurrence of urinary fistula and urinary obstruction.

Recently, malaria incidence has sharply resurgence in the border area of northern Myanmar, with the parasite incidence rate in 2023 being 21.47 times (95% CI: 18.84-24.48) that of 2019 in Kachin State's Razan and nearby areas. This resurgence caused the number of imported malaria cases to increase from 188 in 2019 to 398 in 2023 in Yunnan Province. In addition to the impact of military conflict, the border malaria joint prevention and control cooperation mechanism and malaria control measures established between China and Myanmar have failed to be implemented effectively due to the impact of the international COVID-19 epidemic. Hence, it is recommended that relevant departments evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the current cross-border transmission measures for malaria in the China-Myanmar border area from a technical perspective, and provide a large demand for primaquine, which can block the spread of malaria and cure vivax malaria, in response to the current prevalent characteristics of vivax malaria predominating in northern Myanmar. Moreover, to effectively reduce the mortality of imported malaria patients and prevent re-importation and transmission, it is necessary to enhance clinical physicians' knowledge, awareness, and vigilance regarding malaria diagnosis and treatment in the Yunnan border region, as well as China's ability and quality of appropriate response to imported malaria.

Objective:To explore the application of list nursing management combined with different artificial liver treatment modes in patients with liver failure.Methods:Fifty-three patients with liver failure hospitalized in Bethune Hospital of Shanxi Province from July 2020 to July 2021 were selected as the control group, 63 patients with liver failure hospitalized in Bethune Hospital of Shanxi Province from July 2021 to July 2022 were selected as the intervention group. According to the different treatment modes of artificial liver for patients, plasma exchange (PE), double plasma molecular adsorption system (DPMAS) and PE + DPMAS treatment were set up in the two groups. The control group received routine nursing care, while the intervention group received checklist nursing care in addition. The changes of albumin (ALB) and prothrombin time (PT) indexes before and after the different treatment modes were compared, together with the occurrence of complications between the two groups after the intervention. Results:The baseline data between the two groups was balanced, the difference had no statistical significant ( P>0.05). After the therapy, the level of ALB of patients who had accepted DPMAS and PE + DPMAS in the intervention group were 25.3(24.0, 27.9) and 23.2(22.4, 26.3) g/L, which were lower than the 28.2(26.3, 29.7) and 29.4(27.2, 30.0) g/L in the control group, the differences were significant ( Z = 2.47, 3.55, both P<0.05). After the therapy, the level of PT of patients in the intervention group under all three treatment modes were 15.8(14.8, 16.8), 22.7(19.2, 26.2) and 6.0(14.6, 20.0) s, which were lower than the 17.4(15.9, 20.9), 26.3(21.4, 36.4) and 21.2(16.9, 23.4) s in the control group, the differences were significant ( Z = 2.10, 2.07, 2.21, all P<0.05). In the intervention group, there were 6 cases of hypotension, anaphylaxis, bleeding, coagulation and infection under the DPMAS treatment mode, which was significant lower than the 11 cases in the control group ( χ2 = 4.97, P<0.05). There were 4 cases in the intervention group with the PE + DPMAS treatment mode occurred complications in above, which were significant lower than the 11 cases in the control group ( χ2 = 6.87, P<0.01). Conclusions:Artificial liver treatment can improve patients′ liver function and coagulation, and list nursing management may help to improve the effect of artificial liver treatment. It can improve nurses′ awareness of risk prejudgement, reduce various risks in the treatment process, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and enhance health care and patient satisfaction.

In atherosclerosis, chronic inflammatory processes in local diseased areas may lead to the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, we devised a highly sensitive H2O2-scavenging nano-bionic system loaded with probucol (RPP-PU), to treat atherosclerosis more effectively. The RPP material had high sensitivity to H2O2, and the response sensitivity could be reduced from 40 to 10 μmol/L which was close to the lowest concentration of H2O2 levels of the pathological environment. RPP-PU delayed the release and prolonged the duration of PU in vivo. In Apolipoprotein E deficient (ApoE‒/‒) mice, RPP-PU effectively eliminated pathological ROS, reduced the level of lipids and related metabolic enzymes, and significantly decreased the area of vascular plaques and fibers. Our study demonstrated that the H2O2-scavenging nano-bionic system could scavenge the abundant ROS in the atherosclerosis lesion, thereby reducing the oxidative stress for treating atherosclerosis and thus achieve the therapeutic goals with atherosclerosis more desirably.

Abstract: Objective To compare the screening effects of RDT, microscopy and PCR for malaria among residents in low
malaria areas and elimination areas, and to investigate the presence of malaria in residents of border Villages in Cangyuan Va
County and asymptomatic infections in surrounding areas, providing a basis for preventing re-introduction of malaria after
elimination. Methods From August 2020 to March 2021, the fingertip blood of the investigated subjects was collected from
three survey sites in the border area between China and Myanmar, namely Banlao Township in Cangyuan Va Autonomous
County of Lincang City, Banwai District, Mengmao County, the Second Special Zone of Shan State, Myanmar, Yongmo and
Dayan Township, Nandeng Special Zone, the Second Special Zone of Shan State, Myanmar. The malaria parasite antigen
detection test kit, malaria parasite microscopic examination, fluorescent quantitative PCR and nested PCR were used to detect
the asymptomatic infection of malaria parasites. Results A total of 1 040 blood samples were collected, including 606 from
China and 434 from Myanmar, with 506 males and 534 females. Among them, , there were 51 individuals aged 0 to <5 years,
283 aged 5 to < years, 187 aged 15 to < years, 232 aged 30 to <45 years, 205 aged 45 to < years, and 82 aged ≥60 years. All
1 040 people tested negative for plasmodium antigen detection kit. One case of Plasmodium vivax detected by plasmodium microscopic etiology, with a detection rate of 0.10%. One case of P. vivax was also detected by fluorescent quantitative PCR and
nested PCR, with a detection rate of 0.10%. Among them, one case of P. vivax was detected in Banwai District, Mengmao
County, the Second Special Zone of Shan State, Myanmar, with a detection rate of 0.35%. The detection rates of malaria
parasites in Banlao Township in Cangyuan Va Autonomous County of Lincang City, Yunnan Province and Yongmo Township
and Dayan Township, Nandeng Special District, the Second Special Zone of Shan State, Myanmar were both 0. The difference in
the detection rate of malaria parasites among the three survey sites was not statistically significant (χ2
=2.682, P>0.05). The
asymptomatic P. vivax infection was detected in a 6-year-old girl from Banwai District, Mengmao County, the Second Special
Zone of Shan State, Myanmar. Conclusions RDT is not suitable for malaria screening in low malaria area and elimination
area. Microscopic examination and PCR can be used for malaria screening, but PCR operation is complex and costly. In
surrounding areas outside of China, malaria is still prevalent, while there is no source of malaria infection in border villages of
Cangyuan Va County. However, there is a risk of importation, and timely and effective measures should be taken to prevent reintroduction and transmission.

Objective:To understand the symptom clusters of patients during transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) treatment for primary liver cancer and to identify the sentinel symptoms within the symptom clusters. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 170 patients with primary liver cancer who were admitted to the Interventional Department in Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University for TACE treatment from June 2022 to January 2023 were selected as research objects. From the day after TACE treatment to 4 days after surgery, M.D.Anderson Symptom Inventory-Chinese (MDASI-C) , The Symptom Module Specific to Primary Liver Cancer (TSM-PLC) and First Symptom Appearance Schedule were completed every day. Firstly, the principal component analysis method was used to determine the symptom clusters, and then the sentinel symptoms are determined based on the initial onset time of the symptoms within the cluster combined with the Apriori algorithm. A total of 170 questionnaires were distributed in this study, and 163 valid questionnaires were collected, with an effective response rate of 95.88% (163/170) .Results:A total of 5 symptom clusters were extracted, including upper gastrointestinal tract, post embolism, feeling of illness, emotion and liver function impairment. Nausea, pain, difficulty sleeping, and sadness were sentinel symptoms in the upper gastrointestinal tract, post embolism, feeling of illness and emotional symptom groups, respectively. No clear sentinel symptoms were observed in the symptom cluster of liver function impairment. Conclusions:Primary liver cancer patients have multiple symptom clusters during TACE treatment, and the determination of sentinel symptoms is of great significance in improving symptom management efficiency and nursing quality.
