1.Comparative study between Tada formula method and three-dimensional reconstruction method for evaluating meningioma volume

Objective To investigate the accuracy and application value of the Tada formula in evalua-ting the meningioma volume based on 3D reconstruction technology.Methods The thin-slice magnetic reso-nance images of 297 patients with meningioma treated in the neurosurgery department of 940 Hospital of PLA Joint logistics Support Force from January 2014 to May 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.The meningioma volume was evaluated by the Tada formula method and three-dimensional reconstruction method respectively.The accuracy of the evaluation of meningeal tumor volume by the Tada formula was analyzed by grouping sta-tistics.Results In the whole sample and the concentrated sample,the obtained meningioma total volumes had no statistical difference between the two methods(P>0.05),the Spearman correlation coefficients were 0.995 and 0.993 respectively,and the intragroup correlation coefficients(ICC)were 0.992 and 0.989,respec-tively.In the Bland-Altman plot,most of the data points were within the limit of uniformity.Compared with different groups,the Tada formula had a slightly lower accuracy in the volume assessment of meningiomas with higher degree of irregularity,and a better accuracy in the volume assessment of supratentorial meningio-mas than subtentorial meningiomas.Conclusion The Tada formula could accurately evaluate the volume of meningioma,and it could be used as a preliminary method to evaluate meningioma volume in clinic

Objective To investigate the relationship of miRNA gene polymorphisms with blood pressure(BP)responses to the sodium and potassium diet intervention.Methods In 2004,we recruited 514 participants from 124 families in seven villages of Baoji,Shaanxi Province,China.All subjects were given a three-day normal diet,followed by a seven-day low-salt diet,a seven-day high-salt diet,and finally a seven-day high-salt and potassium supplementation.A total of 19 miRNA single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)were selected for analysis.Results Throughout the sodium-potassium dietary intervention,the BP of the subjects fluctuated across all phases,showing a decrease during the low-salt period and an increase during the high-salt period,followed by a reduction in BP subsequent to potassium supplementation during the high-salt diet.MiR-210-3p SNP rs 12364149 was significantly associated with systolic BP(SBP),diastolic BP(DBP)and mean arterial pressure(MAP)responses to low-salt diet.MiR-4638-3p SNP rs6601178 was significantly associated with SBP while miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly associated with MAP responses to low-salt intervention.In addition,miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly correlated with SBP,DBP and MAP responses to high-salt intervention.MiR-1307-5p SNPs rs1 1191676 and rs2292807 were associated with SBP and MAP responses to high-salt diet.MiR-4638-3p SNP rs6601178,miR-210-3p SNP rs12364149,miR-382-5p SNP rs4906032 and rs4143957 were significantly associated with SBP response to high-salt diet.In addition,miR-26b-3p SNP rs115254818 was significantly associated with SBP,DBP and MAP responses to potassium supplementation.MiR-1307-5p SNPs rs11191676,rs2292807,and miR-19a-3p SNP rs4284505 were significantly associated with SBP responses to high-salt and potassium supplementation.Conclusion miRNA gene polymorphisms are associated with BP response to sodium and potassium,suggesting that miRNA genes may be involved in the pathophysiological process of salt sensitivity and potassium sensitivity.

Patients with severe trauma require an extremely timely treatment and transfusion plays an irreplaceable role in the emergency treatment of such patients. An increasing number of evidence-based medicinal evidences and clinical practices suggest that patients with severe traumatic bleeding benefit from early transfusion of low-titer group O whole blood or hemostatic resuscitation with red blood cells, plasma and platelet of a balanced ratio. However, the current domestic mode of blood supply cannot fully meet the requirements of timely and effective blood transfusion for emergency treatment of patients with severe trauma in clinical practice. In order to solve the key problems in blood supply and blood transfusion strategies for emergency treatment of severe trauma, Branch of Clinical Transfusion Medicine of Chinese Medical Association, Group for Trauma Emergency Care and Multiple Injuries of Trauma Branch of Chinese Medical Association, Young Scholar Group of Disaster Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association organized domestic experts of blood transfusion medicine and trauma treatment to jointly formulate Chinese expert consensus on blood support mode and blood transfusion strategies for emergency treatment of severe trauma patients ( version 2024). Based on the evidence-based medical evidence and Delphi method of expert consultation and voting, 10 recommendations were put forward from two aspects of blood support mode and transfusion strategies, aiming to provide a reference for transfusion resuscitation in the emergency treatment of severe trauma and further improve the success rate of treatment of patients with severe trauma.
5.The influence of emotional motivation on instant judgment of learning in middle school students

Objective:To explore whether emotional motivation affects judgment of learning and its mechanism in short-term memory stage.Methods:Through the preliminary test and using E-Prime software, a set of suitable experimental procedures was compiled, and 134 middle school students were selected as subjects.Taking the instant judgment of learning after emotional video induction as the experimental paradigm, a four-factor mixed experiment of 2(emotional motivation direction: positive approach and negative avoidance) ×2(motivation intensity: high and low) ×2(word pair relevance: high and low) ×2(short-term memory load: more and less) was conducted to observe the subjects' judgment of learning scores.SPSS 23.0 software was used for repeated measurement analysis of variance.Results:Regarding learning judgment level, there was a significant interaction effect between emotional motivation direction and intensity( F=5.177, P=0.025, η2 =0.040). Emotional motivation intensity and direction both significantly interacted with short-term memory load capacity( F=4.778, P=0.031, η2=0.037 ; F=4.302, P=0.040, η2=0.034 ). Furthermore, emotional motivation direction( F=15.256, P<0.001, η2=0.110), motivation intensity( F=7.518, P=0.007, η2=0.057), short-term memory load( F=13.384, P<0.001, η2=0.097), and word pair relevance( F=212.238, P<0.001, η2 =0.631) all showed significant main effects.Regarding learning judgment accuracy, there was a significant interaction effect between emotional motivation direction and intensity( F=5.646, P=0.019, η2 =0.044). Both emotional motivation intensity and direction significantly interacted with short-term memory load capacity( F=4.593, P=0.034, η2 =0.036; F=4.033, P=0.047, η2 =0.031). Additionally, emotional motivation direction( F=15.318, P<0.001, η2=0.110), motivation intensity( F=7.572, P=0.007, η2=0.058), short-term memory load( F=11.119, P=0.001, η2=0.082), and word pair relevance( F=135.814, P<0.001, η2 =0.523) all showed significant main effects.Regarding recall performance, word pair relevance( F=416.326, P<0.001, η2=0.771) and short-term memory load( F=9.609, P=0.002, η2=0.772) showed significant main effects. Conclusion:The direction and intensity of emotional motivation have an impact on judgement of learning, emotional motivation and short-term memory jointly affect the level and accuracy of judgment of learning, and emotional motivation affects judgement of learning through clues related to the learning process in short-term memory stage.
6.Establishment of Preeclampsia Model in Goat and Evaluation on Maternal Biological Characteristics

ObjectiveEstablish an animal model of preeclampsia in goats, collect data on various physiological indicators and maternal biological characteristics of the disease model to compare with clinical feature of the disease in humans, provide reference for the prevention and treatment of preeclampsia in humans.Methods Twenty-three goats bred in Chongming district were divided into three groups: Control group, no surgical procedure was performed on animals of this group; sham group, ewes in this group underwent the sham operation on the 100±5th day of gestation, and only the uterine artery was exposed and dissociated; surgical group, a silver vascular clamp was clipped on one side of the uterine body artery of the ewe to narrow the inner diameter of the artery at the same gestation period (100±5) days. Heart rate and hindlimb blood pressure were continuously monitored in control and surgical ewes from 100 to 140 d of gestation, and blood flow data within the lateral branches of the uterine arteries of ewes in the sham group were collected using a hemodynamometer in combination with a hemodynamic probe and an animal physiological signal collector, as well as changes in blood flow within the uterine arteries in the lateral branches of the uterine arteries of the surgical group before and after placement of vascular clips in the surgical ewes. At the expected date of delivery, jugular vein blood was taken from ewes for routine blood test, creatinine, urea nitrogen, and blood ion analysis; urine was also collected from ewes in each group for analysis of urinary protein and urinary creatinine. All experimental groups were subjected to cesarean section on the 140±5th day of gestation in ewes, and then liver, kidney, uterus and placenta tissues were taken from ewes in each group and stained with HE for pathological observation. Results After 15 minutes of preeclampsia modeling surgery, blood flow volume remained stable in the vessel stenosis segment and the volume differential was relatively reduced in comparison to the control group and sham group (P<0.05,P<0.01). Compared with the control group, the ewes in the surgical group showed prenatal changes such as increased serum osmolality, decreased hemoglobin, increased blood glucose and urea nitrogen values, as well as increased levels of calcium, sodium, and chloride ions (all P<0.05) and proteinuria, with urinary creatinine and urinary protein-creatinine ratios were significantly higher than those in the control group and sham group (all P<0.05). The elastic lamina of the uterine body arteries on the operated side of the animals in the surgical group was thicker than that on the opposite side, but the structure was loose. The placenta on the operated side showed pathological changes such as cell interstitial swelling and inflammatory cell infiltration. The above physiological index characteristics were more consistent with the clinical features of human preeclampsia disease.Conclusion In this experiment, we successfully constructed a goat preeclampsia model and obtained data on relevant physiological indexes of this model, which further verified the correlation between preeclampsia disease and uterine artery lesions.
7.Research Progress on Establishing and Evaluation of Acne Animal Models

According to understanding of the pathogenesis of acne, scholars have established animal models of acne inflammation, animal models of grafting human skin acne, and natural acne animal models. The acne inflammation model is mainly induced by bacterial infection, chemical drug application, and foreign matter injection. Natural acne animal models include animals that some are sensitivity to hormones and some have clinical symptoms of acne. It is necessary to select appropriate model animals and replicate model methods for the development of acne intervention products with different degrees and mechanisms. At present, there are only human evaluation standards of acne health functions in China, but no animal evaluation standards, which has affected the in-depth study of the pathogenesis of acne as well as the research and development progress of acne products. This article summarizes the conditions for the occurrence of acne, the characteristics of human skin, the bidirectional effect of Cutibacterium acnes on human skin, acne animal models, and commonly used observation and evaluation indicators, providing the reference for studying the pathogenesis of acne, promoting acne treatment and health care, and developing treatment products.
8.Efficacy of lenalidomide in treatment of multiple myeloma and its effect on levels of regulatory T cells and natural killer cells of patients

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of lenalidomide combined with bortezomib and dexamethasone (RVd) regimen in treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) patients and its effect on the levels of regulatory T cells (Treg cells) and natural killer (NK) cells.Methods:Thirty-eight NDMM patients who were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from September 2019 to May 2022 were selected for a prospective study, and were divided into control group (18 cases) and observation group (20 cases) according to random number table method. The control group was treated with bortezomib+epirubicin+dexamethasone (VAd) regimen, and the observation group was treated with RVd regimen. The efficacy and safety were compared between the two groups. The levels of Treg cells (CD4 + CD25 + FOXP3 +) and NK cells (CD3 - CD56 + CD16 +) before and after treatment in the two groups were detected by flow cytometry, and the results were compared. Results:After 4 courses of treatment, the objective response rate (ORR) of the observation group was 95.0% (19/20), which was higher than that of the control group [77.8% (14/18)], and the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.016). Before treatment, there was no statistical difference in the levels of Treg cells and NK cells between the two groups ( P values were 0.381 and 0.650). After treatment, the level of Treg cells in the control group increased from (1.5±0.5)% before treatment to (4.7±1.3)% ( P = 0.008), while the level of Treg cells in the observation group increased from (1.4±0.5)% before treatment to (6.8±1.5)% ( P = 0.001), and the level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P = 0.027); the level of NK cells in the control group increased from (16±6)% before treatment to (20±5)% ( P = 0.004), while the level of NK cells in the observation group increased from (16±6)% before treatment to (24±6)% ( P = 0.006), and the level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group ( P = 0.032). The incidence rates of thrombocytopenia and neutropenia in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P values were 0.012 and 0.027), which was reversible after active treatment. There was no statistical difference in the incidence rates of other adverse reactions (all P>0.05). Conclusions:RVd regimen for NDMM is clinically effective, safe and reliable, and the patients' levels of Treg cells and NK cells elevate after treatment.
9.Clinical characteristics and prognosis of bacterial liver abscess in patients with diabetes mellitus

Objective:To compare the clinical characteristics and prognosis of bacterial liver abscess in patients with or without diabetes mellitus (DM), to provide a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods:Patients with bacterial liver abscesses hospitalized in Tongren Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January 2016 to August 2021 were enrolled, and their clinical data were collected. The patients were divided into diabetic and non-diabetic groups for comparison according to whether they had comorbid DM. Statistical analysis was performed by chi-square test or Fisher′s exact test, and multivariate logistic regression analysis.Results:A total of 131 patients with bacterial liver abscesses were included, including 47 cases in the diabetic group and 84 cases in the non-diabetic group. The percentages of platelet count <100×10 9/L, C-reactive protein>10 mg/L, and total bilirubin>17.5 μmol/L were lower in the diabetic group than that in the non-diabetic group, and the differences were all statistically significant ( χ2=3.90, 6.44 and 5.56, respectively, all P<0.05). The percentage of multiple abscesses in the diabetic group was 10.6%(5/47), which was lower than 29.8%(25/84) in the non-diabetic group, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ2=6.24, P=0.012). The positive rate of pus culture for Klebsiella pneumoniae was 64.9%(24/37) in the diabetic group, which was higher than 41.5%(27/65) in the non-diabetic group, with a statistically significant difference ( χ2=5.13, P=0.023). The incidences of pleural effusion and abscesses at other sites in the diabetic group were 29.8%(14/47) and 10.6%(5/47), respectively, which were both higher than 14.3%(12/84) and 1.2%(1/84) in the non-diabetic group, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant ( χ2=4.55, Fisher′s exact test, both P<0.05). The proportion of hospital stays>21 d was 34.0%(16/47) in the diabetic group, which was higher than 16.7%(14/84) in the non-diabetic group, with a statistically significant difference ( χ2=5.15, P=0.023). DM (odds ratio ( OR)=2.654, 95% confidence interval ( CI) 1.020 to 6.907, P=0.046) and abscess maximum diameter>10 cm ( OR=11.045, 95% CI 4.493 to 27.154, P<0.001) were significant risk factors for hospital stay>21 d. Conclusions:Bacterial liver abscesses combined with DM are more common with single abscess, a higher rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae infection, and more likely to develop pleural effusions and abscesses at other sites. Liver abscesses>10 cm in maximum diameter and comorbid DM would prolong hospital stay.

【Objective】 Corin, a transmembrane serine protease that can cleave atrial natriuretic peptide precursor (pro-ANP) into atrial natriuretic peptide with smaller bioactive molecules, participates in the pathophysiological process of hypertension and cardiac hypertrophy. Fifteen single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Corin gene were selected for final analysis. 【Results】 SNPs rs12509275 were significantly associated with diastolic blood pressure (DBP) response to low-salt diet, while rs3749584 was associated with pulse pressure (PP) response to low-salt diet.SNP rs3749584 and rs10517195 were significantly associated with PP response to high-salt diet. In addition,rs17654278 were significantly associated with systolic blood pressure (SBP) response to high-salt and potassium supplementation, rs2271037 was significantly correlated with DBP responses to high-salt and potassium supplementation, and rs4695253, rs12509275, rs2351783, rs36090894 were significantly associated with PP response to high-salt and potassium supplementation. 【Conclusion】 Corin gene polymorphisms were associated with blood pressure response to sodium and potassium, suggesting that Corin gene may be involved in pathophysiological process of salt sensitivity and potassium sensitivity.
