With the changing disease spectrum, the incidence of tumors is increasing and tends to occur among the youth. The long-term survival rate of patients with cancer has increased significantly, and attention to their reproductive rights is growing. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy, and molecular targeted therapy are the conventional treatment methods for cancer, with each exerting different effects on the fertility of patients. Common fertility preservation techniques currently include sperm cryopreservation, embryo and oocyte cryopreservation, ovarian tissue cryopreservation, uterine transplantation, and assisted reproductive technology. This article systematically summarizes the influence of different antitumor treatments on fertility, as well as the current status and prospects of fertility preservation in patients with cancer. This study aims to improve cooperation between clinical oncologists and reproductive medicine doctors to enhance fertility preservation for patients with cancer.

Objective:To explore the current status of cognitive function of the older adults in Beijing,and to analyze the factors affecting their cognitive function.Methods:It was a cross-sectional study.A questionnaire survy was conducted in 2023 among the older adults in Beijing.The cognitive function of the older adults was assessed with the Hong Kong brief cognitive test(HKBC)scale,a simple cognitive assessment tool.Using SPSS 27.0 to perform the descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analy-sis of factors,which affect cognitive function among the older adults.Results:Totally 349 older adults were recruited,with the highest percentage of respondents aged 60-69 years(41.3％),of whom 58.7％were female,88.0％of the respondents had a junior high school or above education level.Most of the older adults(68.8％)worked 35-48 h/week before they retired,and 14.0％of the older adults had a family history of dementia.After controlling age and gender,the linear regression analysis showed that marital status married(β=0.501,95％CI:0.144-0.859)and 3-4 times physical activity per week(β=0.617,95％CI:0.087-1.148)were protective factors of cognitive function in the older adults,and depressive symptoms were a risk factor(β=-0.723,95％CI:-1.198 to-0.247)of cognitive function for the older adults.Conclusion:In this study,the factors influencing cognitive function among the older adults was analyzed based on a life-cycle perspective.Lack of physical activity and depressive symptoms were risk factors for cognitive function among the older adults.It was suggested that strengthening physical activity,improving mental health of the older adults,as well as conducting preventive intervention in early stages of the life-cycle will be benefit for preventing and slowing cognitive decline in the older adults.

Objective To explore the roles of zinc-fingers and homeoboxes (ZHX) in the dorsal root ganglia (DRG) in peripheral nerve injury-induced pain hypersensitivity,and provide a new idea for molecular mechanism ofneuropathic pain (NP).Methods (1) Twenty-four 8-week-old male C57BL6 mice were randomly divided into sham-operated group and chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the sciatic nerve model group (n=12).One d before modeling and 7 d after modeling,the changes of paw withdrawal frequency (PWF) to mechanical stimuli and paw withdrawal latency (PWL) to thermal stimulation were detected.Seven d after modeling,reverse transcription real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to detect the ZHX1,ZHX2,and ZHX3 mRNA expressions,and Westem blotting was employed to detect the ZHX2 protein expression.(2) Thirty-six 8-week-old male C57BL6 mice were randomly divided into equivalent dose solvent CCI group,nonsense negative control sequence [siNC]CCI group and ZHX2 siRNA CCI group,and equivalent dose solvent sham-operated group,siNC sham-operated group and ZHX2 siRNA sham-operated group (n=6);each treatment was given to the DRG.One d before drug injection and 7 d after drug injection,the changes of PWF to mechanical stimuli and PWL to thermal stimulation were detected;RT-qPCR was used to detect the ZHX2 mRNA expression.Results (1) Seven d after modeling,PWF was significantly increased and PWL was statistically shorten in the hind-paw of the ipsilateral side in the CCI group as compared with those in the sham-operated group (P＜0.05);DRG ZHX2 mRNA expression in the CCI group increased for 1.71 times as compared with that in the sham-operated group,with significant difference (P＜0.05);DRG ZHX2 protein expression in the CCI group increased for 2.15 times as compared with that in the sham-operated group,with significant difference (P＜0.05).(2) As compared with the equivalent dose solvent sham-operated group,siNC sham-operated group and ZHX2 siRNA sham-operated group,equivalent dose solvent CCI group and siNC CCI group had significantly increased PWF and DRG ZHX2 mRNA expression,and statistically shorten PWL (P＜0.05);and ZHX2 siRNA CCI group had significantly decreased PWF of the ipsilateral side and DRG ZHX2 mRNA expression,and statistically longer PWL of the ipsilateral side as compared with equivalent dose solvent CCI group and siNC CCI group (P＜0.05).Conclusion Knockdown periphery nerve injury-induced DRG ZHX2 up-regulation attenuates pain hypersensitivity following periphery nerve injury,and ZHX2 may be a new potential target to treat NP.

The TCM acupuncture education for foreign students is complicated and technical work.The writer discusses the modern teaching methods recently to aim directly at the problems in the traditional teaching methods in foreign students education,analyzes and compares the connotation and teaching mode of these teaching methods,and at last puts forward that we should choose correct teaching method according to the actuality to improve the teaching quality for foreign students in TCM acupuncture.

Objective To describe and explore the practice of eye care in ICU,in order to make a specified training plan and guideline on eye care,and to improve the skill in eye care of ICU nurses. Methods A survey was conducted in 92 ICU nurses from 2 general hospitals in Huizhou city with non-random sampling using a self- made questionnaire to investigate their eye care of patients. Results The nursing practice of eye care in ICU was urged to be improved,there was no standard on eye care. Conclusions The knowledge of ICU nurses needs to be enhanced,and guideline on eye care is urged to be worked out,so that practice of eye care would be improved.
