Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(10):1497-1500
Objective:
To examine the prevalence and factors influencing the inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use among college students, so as to provide suggestions for AIDS prevention and education in universities.
Methods:
From October to December 2019, a multistage cluster sampling method was employed to collect data relating to inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use and other related factors among 1 303 students from six colleges in Zhuhai, China. Chi square test and Logistic regression were performed to analyze the influencing factors and moderating effect.
Results:
The reporting rate of in consistency of knowledge and behavior in condom use among college students was 41.1%. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that seeking sexual partners offline was negatively correlated with inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use ( OR=0.70, 95%CI =0.51-0.95). However, condom nonuse during the first sexual experience (OR=7.11, 95%CI=5.23-9.67), smoking before sex ( OR=1.47, 95%CI =1.07-2.02), drinking before sex ( OR=1.44, 95%CI =1.09-1.91), history of intimate partner violence ( OR=1.53, 95%CI =1.13-2.07), and having multiple sexual partners ( OR=1.69, 95%CI =1.25-2.29) were positively correlated with inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use ( P <0.05). The moderating effect analysis showed that condom use during the first sexual experience had a moderating effect on smoking before sex and inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use ( β=0.92, P <0.05). Among students who did not use condoms during the first sexual experience, a positive correlation was observed between smoking before sex and inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use ( OR= 2.76 , 95%CI=1.09-6.99, P <0.05). However, no correlation was found between smoking before sex and inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use ( OR=1.32, 95%CI=0.92-1.88, P >0.05) among students who used condoms during the first sexual experience.
Conclusion
High levels of inconsistency for knowledge and behavior in condom use are found among college students in Zhuhai City. Colleges should carry out sex education activities as soon as possible, and explore new health education models to promote the transformation of their knowledge into behavior.

Objective:To summarize the clinical characteristics of 4 cases of mixed pituitary adenomas involving growth hormone(GH), prolactin(PRL), and thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH), and explore the standardized management approaches. Methods:The clinical data of four GH/PRL/TSH mixed pituitary adenoma patients diagnosed by Peking Union Medical College Hospital were retrospectively analyzed, including clinical manifestations, biochemical parameters, radiographic characteristics, as well as treatment and prognosis. Then literature review was conducted. Results:Among the 4 patients, 3 were male, with onset ages ranging from 15 to 38 years. All patients presented with coarse facial features as initial symptom. Three patients had visual impairment or visual field defects. All 4 patients had significantly elevated levels of GH and insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ(IGF-Ⅰ). GH was not inhibited by oral glucose tolerance test. PRL concentration was over 100 ng/mL. Triiodothyronine(T 3)and thyroxine(T 4)were also elevated, while TSH was not inhibited. All pituitary adenomas in four cases were macroadenomas or giant adenomas, all of which were invasive growth, and one case developed pituitary stroke. Except for one patient who did not receive treatment in our hospital due to medical expenses, the remaining three patients underwent a combined treatment of medication and transnasal transsphenoidal pituitary adenoma resection. Among them, one patient had relief of central hyperthyroidism and hyperprolactinemia, but GH/IGF-Ⅰ did not meet the remission criteria. The other two patients had persistent non-resolution of at least 2 hormone axes. Conclusions:Patients with GH/PRL/TSH mixed pituitary adenoma were mainly characterized by coarse facial features, GH/PRL/TSH hyperfunction, large adenoma volume, low biochemical remission after surgery combined with drug treatment, and poor clinical prognosis.

Objective:To investigate the clinical value of indocyanine green (ICG) staining technique combined with laparoscopic hepatectomy with a Glisson pedicle approach in the treament of liver cancer. Methods:The clinical data of 150 patients with primary liver cancer, who received treatment in Yuyao People's Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020, were retrospectively analyzed. Group A ( n = 82) and group B ( n = 68) were designated according to the surgery methods used. The group A was subject to laparoscopic hepatectomy with a Glisson pedicle approach. The group B received ICG staining technique combined with laparoscopic hepatectomy with a Glisson pedicle approach. Operation-related conditions, postoperative complications, and the change in liver function indexes after surgery relative to before surgery were compared between the two groups. Results:There were no significant differences in the time taken to first anal exhaust, extubation time, and length of hospital stay between group A and group B (all P > 0.05). Operative time and intraoperative bleeding in the group B were (205.04 ± 35.01) minutes and (230.05 ± 17.53) mL, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the group A [(228.07 ± 28.05) minutes, (255.07 ± 19.00) mL, t = 4.47, 8.31, both P < 0.05]. R0 resection rate was significantly lower in group B than in group A [85.29% (58/68) vs. 70.73% (58/82), χ2 = 4.50, P < 0.05]. There were no significant differences in postoperative complications between the two groups ( P > 0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), and total bilirubin between the two groups (all P > 0.05). At 1 day after surgery, serum ALT, AST, and TBil levels in each group were significantly increased compared with before surgery (all P < 0.05). Furthermore, serum levels of ALT, AST and TBil in the group A were (108.51 ± 30.23) U/L, (107.66 ± 26.93) U/L, and (32.16 ± 4.73) μmol/L, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in the group B [(88.38 ± 24.76) U/L, (86.85 ± 19.74) U/L, (27.95 ± 4.31) μmol/L, t = 4.40, 5.30, 5.65, all P < 0.05]. At 3 days after surgery, serum levels of ALT, AST, and TBil in each group were significantly lower than those at 1 day after surgery, but they were still higher than those before surgery. At 3 days after surgery, serum levels of ALT, AST and TBil in group A were (74.20 ± 13.83) U/L, (65.22 ± 9.68) U/L, and (28.18 ± 4.14) μmol/L, respectively, which were significantly higher than those in group B [(54.72 ± 10.31) U/L, (55.41 ± 7.63) U/L, (24.25 ± 3.98) μmol/L, t = 9.61, 6.79, 5.89, all P < 0.05]. Conclusion:Although the ICG staining technique has certain limitations, it can improve the accuracy of hepatectomy to a certain extent. ICG staining technique combined with laparoscopic hepatectomy with the Glisson pedicle approach is a safe and accurate treatment for liver cancer. The combined therapy is worthy of clinical application.
