Objective:
To investigate the current status and relationship between loneliness and negative emotional symptoms among first generation college students in the family, so as to provide reference for improving mental health of this population.
Methods:
A convenience sampling method was used to select 3 017 college students from 10 colleges and universities in Guangdong Province and Yunnan Province, China, in May 2023. Questionnaires were administered to the students, and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the short form of the University of California at Los Angeles Loneliness Scale (ULS-6) were employed.
Results:
The total ULS-6 score of first generation college students in the family was (12.38±4.16), while the score of non first generation college students in the family was (11.89±4.38), with a statistically significant difference ( t=2.79, P <0.05). The total DASS-21 score of first generation college students in the family was (71.13±26.97), while the score of non first generation college students in the family was (70.20±26.66), with a statistically significant difference ( t=2.69, P <0.05). Among the first generation college students in the family, male students experienced more DASS-21 score (77.55±29.36) than female students (70.43±25.03)( t =5.79, P <0.05). Urban students (12.00±4.15, 70.34±25.68) reported lower levels of loneliness score and DASS- 21 score than rural students (12.62±4.15, 74.93±27.63), and the depression subscale scores showed statistically significant differences among students with different professional achievement rankings ( t/F =-3.42, -3.94, 4.25, P <0.05). There was a positive correlation between loneliness, depression, anxiety, pressure and DASS-21 scales of first generation college students in the family ( r=0.64, 0.62, 0.64, 0.66, P <0.01). The linear regression analysis results showed a positive correlation between loneliness and all dimensions and total scores of the DASS-21, explaining 44% of the variance in negative emotional symptoms.
Conclusions
A positive correlation is found between loneliness and negative emotional symptoms among first generation college students in the family. Improving the loneliness of the first generation college students in the family can reduce their negative emotional symptoms and improve their mental health level.

Objective:To investigate the impact of the clinicopathological characteristics of anorectal malignant melanoma (ARMM) on the prognosis. Methods:The clinicopathological data of 40 ARMM patients undergoing surgery at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from Apr 2012 to Apr 2022 were collected, and the impact of different clinicopathological factors and treatment modalities on the overall survival of ARMM patients was investigated using Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and multifactorial Cox proportional risk model analysis. Results:Among 40 ARMM patients , 16 were male and 24 were female. The median age of onset was 61 yr. The median follow-up period for all patients was 47 (25-69) months, with a median survival of 19 (15-23) months and 1-year and 3-year survival rates of 74.3% and 21.7%, respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in survival time between the two groups of patients receiving wide local excision and abdominoperineal resection( χ2=1.281, P=0.258). Univariate analysis showed that overall survival in patients with ARMM was related to tumour diameter, depth of infiltration, specimen margin and lymph node metastasis ( χ2=1.281, P=0.039; χ2=3.760, P=0.042; χ2=6.581, P=0.010; χ2=21.683, P<0.001), and multivariate analysis suggested that lymph node metastasis was an independent risk factor for overall survival in patients with ARMM. Conclusion:Tumour diameter, depth of infiltration, specimen margin and lymph node metastasis were important prognostic influences in ARMM, and lymph node metastasis was an independent risk factor for overall survival in ARMM patients.

The dental operative microscope has been widely employed in the field of dentistry, particularly in endodontics and operative dentistry, resulting in significant advancements in the effectiveness of root canal therapy, endodontic surgery, and dental restoration. However, the improper use of this microscope continues to be common in clinical settings, primarily due to operators' insufficient understanding and proficiency in both the features and established operating procedures of this equipment. In October 2019, Professor Jingping Liang, Vice Chairman of the Society of Cariology and Endodontology, Chinese Stomatological Association, organized a consensus meeting with Chinese experts in endodontics and operative dentistry. The objective of this meeting was to establish a standard operation procedure for the dental operative microscope. Subsequently, a consensus was reached and officially issued. Over the span of about four years, the content of this consensus has been further developed and improved through practical experience.

The promise of regeneration therapy for restoration of damaged myocardium after cardiac ischemic injury relies on targeted delivery of proliferative molecules into cardiomyocytes whose healing benefits are still limited owing to severe immune microenvironment due to local high concentration of proinflammatory cytokines. Optimal therapeutic strategies are therefore in urgent need to both modulate local immunity and deliver proliferative molecules. Here, we addressed this unmet need by developing neutrophil-mimic nanoparticles NM@miR, fabricated by coating hybrid neutrophil membranes with artificial lipids onto mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) loaded with microRNA-10b. The hybrid membrane could endow nanoparticles with strong capacity to migrate into inflammatory sites and neutralize proinflammatory cytokines and increase the delivery efficiency of microRNA-10b into adult mammalian cardiomyocytes (CMs) by fusing with cell membranes and leading to the release of MSNs-miR into cytosol. Upon NM@miR administration, this nanoparticle could home to the injured myocardium, restore the local immunity, and efficiently deliver microRNA-10b to cardiomyocytes, which could reduce the activation of Hippo-YAP pathway mediated by excessive cytokines and exert the best proliferative effect of miR-10b. This combination therapy could finally improve cardiac function and mitigate ventricular remodeling. Consequently, this work offers a combination strategy of immunity modulation and proliferative molecule delivery to boost cardiac regeneration after injury.

The postoperative pathological staging system (pTNM) has become an important reference for the selection of various tumor treatment strategies and prognosis evaluation at a global scale, and is a powerful predictor of the prognosis of a variety of solid tumors, but the prognosis is still different in patients with the same pTNM staging. In recent years, studies have confirmed that the negative lymph nodes count (NLNC) is related to the prognosis of a variety of solid tumors. Higher NLNC can improve the prognosis of cancer patients, and NLNC can reduce staging migration, which is expected to be a supplement to the pTNM staging system. This article reviews the value of NLNC in the prognosis of solid tumors.

End-stage renal disease(ESRD) patients with malignant renal tumor has its unique clinicopathological characteristics, and there are currently few domestic related studies. A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 16 ESRD patients with malignant renal tumor in Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital. Their ages ranged from 20 to 70 yrs (mean 47.6 yrs). Most of the patients were asymptomatic and all underwent radical nephrectomy or radical nephroureterectomy. Clear cell carcinoma occurred in 11 cases, and papillary renal cell carcinoma in 2 cases. The vast majority of 13 cases were low-stage, low-grade tumors. All 13 cases were followed up for an average of 43.7 months and no recurrence or metastasis was found. In addition, the patients of renal sarcomatoid carcinoma, renal pelvis carcinoma and renal sarcoma survived for 2 to 20 months with poor prognosis.
