1.Evaluation of the effect of campus tray design on salt intake control among boarding students in Guizhou Province

		                        			Objective:
		                        			To explore the effect of replacing rice bowls with trays on controlling the salt intake among school aged children, providing new evidence and insights for salt reduction intervention.
		                        		
		                        			Methods:
		                        			From April to May 2024, 373 students from grades 4-9 at a boarding school in Guizhou Province were enrolled through stratified random cluster sampling, with one intervention class and one control class per grade. During the intervention period for one month, and the types of meals provided, pricing standards, and dining procedures shall remain consistent with daily operations, the intervention group ( n =181) compartmentalized trays for lunch and dinner, while the control group ( n =192) still used a rice bowl. Pre  and post intervention assessments included 24 hour urine collection, questionnaire surveys, and physical measurements. The difference in differences analysis combined with multiple linear regression was used to analyze the changes in sodium intake and to evaluate the net effect of the intervention.
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			The post intervention 24 hour sodium intake in the intervention group was ( 2 222.6 ±1 013.6) mg, an increase of 94.6 mg from baseline, with no statistically significant difference ( t=1.10, P >0.05). In contrast, the post intervention 24 hour sodium intake in the control group was (2 080.5±895.7) mg, a decrease of 190.8 mg from baseline, showing a statistically significant difference ( t=-2.39, P <0.05). The difference in differences results indicated that after adjusting the model for factors such as gender, grade and dietary behaviors affecting sodium intake, the intervention group showed a net increase of 232.5 mg [ β(95%CI )=232.5(-40.3-505.2)] in 24 hour sodium intake compared to the control group, with no statistically significant net effect ( P >0.05).
		                        		
		                        			Conclusions
		                        			Merely changing tableware is insufficient to control children s salt intake effectively. Based on continuous practical explorations and evidence based research grounded in the nudge theory, multi dimensional measures such as salt reduction education and the construction of a supportive environment should be integrated to form an intervention system that achieves synergistic and enhanced effects.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
2.Analysis of incidence of stroke in Beilun District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, 2012‒2023

		                        			ObjectiveTo analyze the incidence and trend of stroke in Beilun District, so as to provide evidence for identifying influencing factors and reducing stroke incidence. MethodsStroke cases from 2012 to 2023 were extracted from the Ningbo Chronic Disease Collaborative Management System. Population information of Beilun District during the same period was also collected. The annual incidence and trends of stroke were analyzed. ResultsFrom 2012 to 2023, the age-standardized incidence rate of stroke in Beilun District, Ningbo City was 317.68/100 000, showing an increasing trend with an average annual percentage change (AAPC) of 2.267% (P=0.034). Among all subdistricts in Beilun District, two showed a downward trend in incidence, while the rest showed an upward trend. The crude incidence rate of stroke was significantly higher in males than that in females (P<0.001). The age-standardized incidence rate in males was 406.08/100 000, showing an increasing trend (AAPC=3.956%, P<0.001). The incidence of stroke also showed an increasing trend in the following age groups: 30‒<45 years (AAPC=6.340%, P=0.004), 45‒<60 years (AAPC=4.997%, P<0.001), and 60‒<75 years (AAPC=3.282%, P=0.042). Across all years, males had higher crude incidence rates in both ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke than females (P<0.05). The age-standardized incidence rate of ischemic stroke showed a rising trend in both males and the general population (male AAPC=4.905%, P<0.001; overall population AAPC=3.065%, P=0.001). ConclusionThe age-standardized incidence of stroke in Beilun District is on the rise, with higher crude incidence rate in males than that in females. The onset age of stroke is gradually declining. 		                        			In this study, we conducted an integrated multiomics study of whole-exome sequencing, RNA-seq, spatial transcriptome, and immunohistochemical analyses of 28 paired sarcomatoid tumor components and conventional HCC components from 10 patients with sarcomatoid HCC, in order to identify frequently altered genes, infer the tumor subclonal architectures, track the genomic evolution, and delineate the transcriptional characteristics of sarcomatoid HCCs. 
		                        		
		                        			Results:
		                        			Our results showed that the sarcomatoid HCCs had poor prognosis. The sarcomatoid tumor components and the conventional HCC components were derived from common ancestors, mostly accessing similar mutational processes. Clonal phylogenies demonstrated branched tumor evolution during sarcomatoid HCC development and progression. TP53 mutation commonly occurred at tumor initiation, whereas ARID2 mutation often occurred later. Transcriptome analyses revealed the epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and hypoxic phenotype in sarcomatoid tumor components, which were confirmed by immunohistochemical staining. Moreover, we identified ARID2 mutations in 70% (7/10) of patients with sarcomatoid HCC but only 1–5% of patients with non-sarcomatoid HCC. Biofunctional investigations revealed that inactivating mutation of ARID2 contributes to HCC growth and metastasis and induces EMT in a hypoxic microenvironment.

		                        			Currently,human health due to corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been seriously threatened.The coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)spike(S)protein plays a crucial role in virus transmission and several S-based therapeutic approaches have been approved for the treatment of COVID-19.However,the efficacy is compromised by the SARS-CoV-2 evolvement and mutation.Here we report the SARS-CoV-2 S protein receptor-binding domain(RBD)inhibitor licorice-saponin A3(A3)could widely inhibit RBD of SARS-CoV-2 variants,including Beta,Delta,and Omicron BA.1,XBB and BQ1.1.Furthermore,A3 could potently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Omicron virus in Vero E6 cells,with EC50 of 1.016 pM.The mechanism was related to binding with Y453 of RBD deter-mined by hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry(HDX-MS)analysis combined with quan-tum mechanics/molecular mechanics(QM/MM)simulations.Interestingly,phosphoproteomics analysis and multi fluorescent immunohistochemistry(mIHC)respectively indicated that A3 also inhibits host inflammation by directly modulating the JNK and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)path-ways and rebalancing the corresponding immune dysregulation.This work supports A3 as a promising broad-spectrum small molecule drug candidate for COVID-19.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
7.The effectiveness of different training modes of six-character qigong in improving respiratory muscle functioning after a stroke

		                        			Objective:To explore the impact of different six-character qigong training modes on respiratory muscle function early after a stroke.Methods:Sixty-six stroke survivors in the early stage of recovery were randomly divided into a control group, a modified training group, and an ancient training group, each of 22. In addition to routine rehabilitation training, the control group received conventional respiratory training. The modified training and ancient training groups were trained in modified six-character qigong or ancient six-character qigong, respectively, for two weeks. Before the treatment, after the two weeks and one month later, maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximum expiratory pressure (MEP), forced expiratory volume in one second, forced vital capacity, peak expiratory flow, maximum mid-expiratory flow, and peak inspiratory flow were measured. Diaphragm mobility during quiet inspiration and maximum inspiration were also quantified.Results:After 2 weeks of treatment and at 1 and 3 months after the end of the treatment, all three groups showed significant improvement in MIP, MEP and the pulmonary ventilation indicators, but the average improvement in the modified training group was significantly greater than in the other two groups. Their average diaphragm mobility was also significantly greater.Conclusion:Modified six-character qigong respiratory training is more effective than its ancient counterpart in improving respiratory muscle function, pulmonary ventilation, and diaphragm mobility early after a stroke, with effects which persist for at least one month.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
8.Correlation and treatment of HCY,PRL,inflammatory factors and cognitive function in schizophrenia

		                        			Objective To explore the brain metabolic hormone homocysteine in patients with schizophrenia homocysteine(HCY),prolactin(PRL)in its correlation with cognitive function,mining of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)combined with olanzapine for the disease,in order to interpret the influence mechanism of brain metabolic hormones and cognitive function,at the same time,mining rTMS and olanzapine to enrich research in this field,to provide reference for related studies.Methods The data of 128 schizophrenia patients treated in the hospital from June 2021 to August 2023 were selected for retrospective analysis,divided into the observation group 72 cases combined rTMS with olanzapine and the control group 56 cases(olanzapine monotherapy).Serum serum HCY,PRL,positive and negative syndrome scale(PANSS),interleukin(IL)-12,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and their associations were analyzed in both groups.The incidence of adverse effects was compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the levels of PRL,HCY,IL-12,and TNF-α in the observation group were lower than those of the control group,with significant and statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Under the interaction,time point and between groups,the PANSS scores of the two groups changed due to the time passage of different treatment methods,but the observation group was lower than the control group,with significant differences(P<0.05).Treatment was negatively associated with HCY,PRL,IL-12,TNF-α,and PANSS,and HCY,PRL,IL-12,TNF-α,and PANSS were positively associated(P<0.05).The incidence of headache,impaired memory,drowsiness,and adverse reaction events in the observed group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).Conclusion After rTMS combined with olanzapine treatment,schizophrenia patients can reduce HCY and PRL hormone levels,alleviate inflammation,reduce adverse reactions,and improve cognitive function.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
9.Associations of onset age, diabetes duration and glycated hemoglobin level with ischemic stroke risk in type 2 diabetes patients: a prospective cohort study

		                        			Objective:To investigate the associations of onset age, diabetes duration, and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels with ischemic stroke risk in type 2 diabetes patients.Methods:The participants were from Comprehensive Research on the Prevention and Control of the Diabetes in Jiangsu Province. The study used data from baseline survey from December 2013 to January 2014 and follow-up until December 31, 2021. After excluding the participants who had been diagnosed with stroke at baseline survey and those with incomplete information on onset age, diabetes duration, and HbA1c level, a total of 17 576 type 2 diabetes patients were included. Cox proportional hazard model was used to calculate the hazard ratio ( HR) and 95% CI of onset age, diabetes duration, and HbA1c level for ischemic stroke. Results:During the median follow-up time of 8.02 years, 2 622 ischemic stroke cases were registered. Multivariate Cox proportional risk regression model showed that a 5-year increase in type 2 diabetes onset age was significantly associated with a 5% decreased risk for ischemic stroke ( HR=0.95, 95% CI: 0.92-0.99). A 5-year increase in diabetes duration was associated with a 5% increased risk for ischemic stroke ( HR=1.05, 95% CI: 1.02-1.10). Higher HbA1c (per 1 standard deviation increase: HR=1.17, 95% CI: 1.13-1.21) was associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke. Conclusion:The earlier onset age of diabetes, longer diabetes duration, and high levels of HbA1c are associated with an increased risk for ischemic stroke in type 2 diabetes patients.
		                        		
		                        		
		                        		
		                        	
10.Liver segmentation method based on multi-scale feature fusion and attention

		                        			Due to the low contrast of CT images,irregular shape of the liver,and blurred boundaries with adjacent organs,the existing methods based on convolutional neural network underperform in liver segmentation tasks,especially for boundary recognition and small object detection.A novel liver segmentation method is proposed based on multi-scale feature fusion and attention,namely MFFA UNet.Multi-scale feature fusion is firstly employed to acquire abundant segmentation details,while spatial and channel attention mechanisms are utilized to capture global spatial and inter-channel relationships.Additionally,a deep supervision module fully leverages the output of intermediate hidden layers,enhancing the learning capability of the network,which in turn accelerates the network's convergence speed.Moreover,a hybrid loss function is adopted to address the issue of class imbalance,further boosting the model's segmentation efficacy.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed MFFA UNet outperforms the prevailing segmentation networks on the public LITS dataset,producing results that are closer to the ground truth.
