Objective:
To analyze the prevalence trends and associated factors of overweight and obesity among children and adolescents in Macao from 2005 to 2020, so as to provide evidence for developing health promotion strategies.
Methods:
Data were obtained from the Macao Citizen Physical Fitness Monitoring Database for the years 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020 for participants aged 6-22 years. The χ 2 test was employed to analyze trends in detection rates, while univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analyses were conducted to identify influencing factors.
Results:
The overweight rate among Macaos children and adolescents increased from 10.4% in 2005 to 14.8% in 2020. The obesity rate rose from 6.8% to 12.1%, with the total detection rate increasing from 17.2% to 26.9%, and the differences were statistically significant ( χ 2 trend =46.7, 87.5, 145.9, P <0.01). Notably, the overweight/obesity rate among boys showed rapid growth ( χ 2 trend = 118.6, P <0.01), while girls exhibited a declining inflection point in 2020. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that children and adolescents with the following characteristics faced higher risks of overweight/obesity: a physical education performance score of 3 points (overweight: OR=2.34, 95%CI =1.10-4.96; obesity: OR=2.39, 95%CI =1.19-4.81), paternal obesity (overweight: OR=2.07, 95%CI =1.38-3.11; obesity: OR=1.51, 95%CI = 1.01-2.27), and maternal obesity (overweight: OR=1.69, 95%CI =1.08-2.63; obesity: OR=1.77, 95%CI =1.16- 2.71 ) ( P <0.05). Conversely, lower risks were observed in those who performed appropriate warm-up activities before exercise (obesity: OR=0.37, 95%CI =0.15-0.95), participated in two academic/non-sports extracurricular classes (obesity: OR=0.46, 95%CI =0.24-0.88), and reported moderate physical exertion during extracurricular exercise (obesity: OR=0.60, 95%CI =0.36-0.98) ( P <0.05) .
Conclusions
Overweight and obesity among Macao s children and adolescents remain severe, particularly among boys, while girls show early signs of improvement. It is recommended to establish a multi-sectoral collaborative prevention and control system to reduce childhood and adolescent obesity.

Objective:To investigate the current status of scientific fitness literacy (SFL) and its influencing factors among Chinese adults aged 20-59 years. Methods:Totally 63 338 adults aged 20-59 years in the status of national fitness activities in 2020 from 1 January to 31 March 2020 were selected as the subjects, and they were divided into four age groups, namely, the 20-29 age group, the 30-39 age group, the 40-49 age group and the 50-59 age group. Data were analyzed by SPSS 29.0.Comparative analyses for age, gender, urban-rural difference were carried out by applying non-parametric tests, and multiple regression models were applied to find the influencing factors of SFL.Results:The SFL score of Chinese adults aged 20-59 years was 53.40 (41.67, 63.73), and the scores of cognition, attitude, ability and skills, behavior and habits sub-dimensions were 86.11 (72.22, 100.00), 62.96 (50.62, 75.31), 27.78 (11.11, 44.44) and 33.33 (11.11, 55.56), respectively. The SFL and the four sub-dimensions were demonstrated to have higher scores for males than females, and higher scores for adults in urban area than those in rural area(all P<0.01). The multiple regression results showed that regular exercise at a fitness facility (20-29 age group: β=0.321, t=5.940, P<0.01; 30-39 age group: β=0.187, t=2.937, P<0.01; 40-49 age group: β=0.230, t=3.988, P<0.01; 50-59 age group: β=0.415, t=5.671, P<0.01) was the Chinese adults' common influence factor on SFL.Motivation, evaluation by those around them, experience from exercising, and convenience and atmosphere of exercising were the main influence factors in the 20-29 and 30-39 age groups(all P<0.05).Comfort level of fitness venue, convenience, safety, and support of fitness place were the main influence factors in adults aged 40-59 years(all P<0.05). Conclusions:Chinese adults aged 20-59 years old have high SFL awareness scores, but low overall SFL scores. Surrounding people's evaluation, experience in exercise, comfort level of fitness place, convenience, safety and fitness policy support are the influential factors of scientific fitness literacy.

Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release tablets (OHCT) and pa-tient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) in the treatment of intractable cancer pain. Methods:Retrospective analysis was conduct-ed to evaluate the intractable cancer pain of 89 elderly patients who were admitted to the medical oncology departments of The Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University and the Fuzhou General Hospital of Nanjing Military Command between September 2012 and March 2014. Among the 89 patients, 47 were treated with OHCT, and 42 received PCIA. The total dosage ranged from 60 mg/d to 400 mg/d PO q12h for patients in the OHCT group, whereas abackground dose+patient-controlled dosemode was adopted for patients in the PCIA group. The therapeutic efficacy, presence of adverse reactions, cost of treatment, and degree of patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:The average dosages of analgesics in the two groups were almost the same (P>0.05). Visual analogue scale (VAS) values and daily average VAS values were both lower in the PCIA group than in the OHCT group at 24 h after analgesia (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions, such as nausea and vomiting, was also lower in the PCIA group than in the OHCT group (P<0.05). The cost of treatment and degree of patient satisfaction were the same in both groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:Pa-tients who received PCIA attained better analgesia and exhibited less adverse reactions than those who received OHCT whereas the treatment cost and patient satisfaction did not differ in both groups.

The aim of the present study was to obtain the crystal of transcription factor LytR of streptococcus pneumoniae for X-ray crystal structure and function analysis. The LytR gene of D39 strains from Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pn) was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pET32a(+), then overexpression was obtained in the E. coli BL21 (DE3) through transformation of the recombinant plasmid that had been verified by colony PCR and sequencing. Soluble fusion protein with His-tag highly expressed by the induction of 0.5 mmol/L IPTG and was purified by a three step procedure, the purity of the purified LytR recombinant protein was over 90%. Preliminary screening of crystallization conditions was performed using the hanging-drop vapour-diffusing method with Hampton Crystal screen and PEG screen kits. The protein crystals X-ray diffraction data were collected from a single crystal and more stick crystals whose X-ray diffraction reached 4.0 A were obtained. These works laid the foundation for further research on the 3D structure of putative transcription factor LytR and its biological aspects.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2012;46(3):234-238
Objective To investigate the methods of reducing radiation dose in CT coronary angiography through optimizing individualized scan dosage protocol. Methods Two hundred patients (group A)underwent coronary CTA examination which was performed with fixed 120 kV and variable mA according to their BMI.The mA was set as 150-300 mA(BMI < 18.5 kg/m2),300-500 mA (18.5 kg/m2 ≤ BMI < 25.0 kg/m2),and 500-800 mA(BMI ≥ 25.0 kg/m2).When all examinations were finished,a linear regression was employed to analyze the correlation between mA and BMI,body surface(Suf),image noise(SD)respectively. The results of the analysis were used to formulate a regression equation, which was further used to establish a table list for quick search on how much mA that individualized coronary CTA scan would need.Another 200 patients(group B)enrolled for the individualized scan were scanned under new protocol that previous study established. The tube voltage was 100 and 120 kV.The tube current was variable according to the data in the table list.One-way ANOVA and Kruskal-wallis H test were used for statistics. Results Regression equation between mA and BMI,Suf,SD was:mA =17.984 × BMI + 169.149 × Suf-2.282 × SD-361.039.The SD(group A:32.08 ± 5.80,group B:28.60±4.47),dose index volume(CTDIvol)[group A:(41.97 ± 11.37)mGy,group B:(33.18±10.07)mGy],effective dose(ED)[group A:(10.91 ±3.07)mSy,group B:(8.83 ±2.72)mSv]had significant differences between the two groups(F =43.45,63.71,49.07 respectively,P <0.01 for all). The SD and ED results obtained in group B were better than those in group A.Conclusion Better performances were obtained when BMI combined Suf was used as a new individualized protocol than when BMI was used only, which means good image quality and lower radiation dosage in coronary CTA examination.
