Objective To access the current situation of the service capacity of radiation health technical service institutions in Jiangxi Province, analyze the existing problems of these institutions, and provide a scientific basis for standardizing the management of such institutions and improving their service capability. Methods A total of 11 radiation health technical service institutions in Jiangxi Province in the National Occupational Health Technical Service Organization Management Information System were selected as the monitoring objects. During the period from 2022 to 2024, 5-6 technical service institutions were selected each year and comprehensively evaluated and inspected using a checklist formulated by the state. Results Among the 16 quality monitoring results of 11 institutions, 2 (12.5%) were rated as excellent, 12 (75%) as qualified, and 2 (12.5%) as unqualified. The risk level assessment identified 7 (43.75%) high-risk institutions, 9 (56.25%) medium-risk institutions, and 0 (0%) low-risk institutions. Conclusion The overall service capacity of radiation health technical service institutions in Jiangxi Province needs to be improved. Notably, institutions within the health system, such as centers for disease control and prevention, show significant shortcomings in both on-site and laboratory testing capabilities.

Objective To study a method for determining the cumulative dose of low-energy neutrons ( < 100 keV) independently based on a CR-39 detector. Methods According to the theory of track etching kinetics, the differences in the tracks formed by low-energy neutrons or fast neutrons in a BN + CR-39 detector under broad-spectrum neutron irradiation were analyzed. A method was proposed to identify the tracks produced by low-energy neutrons under specific etching conditions while avoiding interference from fast neutron tracks. Results Experimental results demonstrated that the BN + CR-39 detector using TASTRAK PADC CR-39 track-detecting plastic could independently detect the tracks of low-energy neutrons when etched in a 6.25 mol/L NaOH solution for 1 h. The track density showed a good linear relationship with the ambient dose equivalent of low-energy neutrons, and the calibration coefficient was

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Dingzhi Xiaowan (DZXW) in post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) model mice. MethodsThe cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury model of mice was established by using the middle cerebral artery occlusion method. Forty C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into the sham operation group, model group, low-dose DZXW group (1.43 g·kg-1), and high-dose DZXW group (2.56 g·kg-1), with 10 mice in each group. Both the sham operation group and the model group were treated with equal amounts of normal saline by gavage, and the above four groups of mice were gavaged once a day for 30 consecutive days. Morris water maze test was used to evaluate the learning memory ability of mice. Serum levels of amyloid precursor protein (APP), amyloid 42 (Aβ42), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Deoxyribonucleotide end transferase-mediated nick end labelling (TUNEL) assay was applied to detect the degree of apoptosis in the mouse's hippocampal neurons. Western blot was used to detect the protein expression of phosphoinositol-3 kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (Akt), mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α), B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) homologous structural domain protein (Beclin1), sequestosome 1 (p62), microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 (LC3), Bcl-2, and Bcl-2-associated X protein (Bax) in hippocampal tissue. Prussian blue staining was used to detect iron deposition in hippocampal tissue. Transmission electron microscopy was taken to observe the ultrastructure of the mouse's hippocampal neurons. ResultsCompared with the sham operation group, the latency, APP, Aβ42, AChE, TUNEL positivity, ferric ion deposition, HIF-1α, Beclin1, Bax, and LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ were significantly increased in the model group (P<0.01), while the number of crossing platforms, SOD, p-PI3K, p-Akt, p-mTOR, p62, and Bcl-2 were significantly decreased (P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the latency, APP, Aβ42, AChE, TUNEL positivity rate, ferric ion deposition, HIF-1α, Beclin1, Bax, and LC3Ⅱ/Ⅰ were significantly reduced in the DZXW groups (P<0.05), while the number of crossing platforms, SOD, p-PI3K, p-Akt, p-mTOR, p62, and Bcl-2 were significantly higher (P<0.05). ConclusionDZXW can alleviate cognitive impairment induced by oxidative stress-aggravated hippocampal neuronal damage in PSCI model mice by modulating the PI3K/Akt/mTOR/HIF-1α autophagy signalling pathway.

BACKGROUND:In the initial stage of growth plate injury inflammation,platelet-derived growth factor BB promotes the repair of growth plate injury by promoting mesenchymal progenitor cell infiltration, chondrogenesis, osteogenic response, and regulating bone remodeling. OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the action mechanism of platelet-derived growth factor BB after growth plate injury. METHODS:PubMed,VIP,WanFang, and CNKI databases were used as the literature sources. The search terms were"growth plate injury, bone bridge,platelet-derived growth factor BB,repair"in English and Chinese.Finally,66 articles were screened for this review. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Growth plate injury experienced early inflammation, vascular reconstruction, fibroossification, structural remodeling and other pathological processes, accompanied by the crosstalk of chondrocytes, vascular endothelial cells, stem cells, osteoblasts, osteoclasts and other cells.Platelet-derived growth factor BB,as an important factor in the early inflammatory response of injury, regulates the injury repair process by mediating a variety of cellular inflammatory responses.Targeting the inflammatory stimulation mediated by platelet-derived growth factor BB may delay the bone bridge formation process by improving the functional activities of osteoclasts, osteoblasts, and chondrocytes,so as to achieve the injury repair of growth plate.Platelet-derived growth factor BB plays an important role in angiogenesis and bone repair tissue formation at the injured site of growth plate and intrachondral bone lengthening function of uninjured growth plate.Inhibition of the coupling effect between angiogenesis initiated by platelet-derived growth factor BB and intrachondral bone formation may achieve the repair of growth plate injury.

It has become an industry consensus that self-assembled nanoparticles (SAN) are formed by molecular recognition of chemical components in traditional Chinese medicine during the decoction process. The insoluble components in the decoction are mostly in the form of nanoparticles, which can improve the problem of poor water solubility. However, the transfer rate of these insoluble components in the decoction is still very low, which limits the efficacy of the drug. This study aimed to refine the traditional decoction self-assembly phenomenon. The self-assembled nanoparticles were constructed by micro-precipitation method (MP-SAN), and characterized by particle size, zeta potential, stability index and morphology. The formation of MP-SAN and alterations in related physicochemical properties were evaluated using modern spectroscopic and thermal analysis techniques. The quality value transmitting pattern of lignan components within the MP-SAN was assessed

Oral diseases concern almost every individual and are a serious health risk to the popula-tion.The restorative treatment of tooth and jaw defects is an important means to achieve oral function and support the appearance of the contour.Based on the principle of"learning from the nature",Deng Xu-liang's group of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology has proposed a new concept of"microstructural biomimetic design and tissue adaptation of tooth/jaw materials"to address the worldwide problems of difficulty in treating dentine hypersensitivity, poor prognosis of restoration of tooth defects, and vertical bone augmentation of alveolar bone after tooth loss. The group has broken through the bottle-neck of multi-stage biomimetic technology from the design of microscopic features to the enhancement of macroscopic effects, and invented key technologies such as crystalline/amorphous multi-level assembly,ion-transportation blocking, and multi-physical properties of the micro-environment reconstruction, etc. The group also pioneered the cationic-hydrogel desensitizer, digital stump and core integrated restora-tions,and developed new crown and bridge restorative materials, gradient functionalisation guided tissue regeneration membrane, and electrically responsive alveolar bone augmentation restorative membranes, etc. These products have established new clinical strategies for tooth/jaw defect repair and achieved inno-vative results. In conclusion, the research results of our group have strongly supported the theoretical im-provement of stomatology, developed the technical system of oral hard tissue restoration, innovated the clinical treatment strategy, and led the progress of the stomatology industry.

Objective:To compare the clinical characteristics, diagnostic plans, and treatment strategies of patients with combined burn-blast injuries caused by liquid plastic and liquid metal foreign objects in the body. Methods:This study was a retrospective cohort study. From January 2009 to July 2019, 41 patients with combined burn-blast injuries caused by hot solution explosion who met the inclusion criteria were admitted to the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery of Qingdao Hospital of Rehabilitation University. The following indexes of all patients were collected, including gender, age, total burn area, admission time after injury, site of combined burn-blast injuries, and type of foreign objects in the body. According to the type of foreign objects in the body, the patients were divided into liquid plastic group (30 cases) and liquid metal group (11 cases). The following indexes of the two groups of patients were collected, including the clinical characteristics (swelling in the injury site, pain, fever, abscess formation, depth of injury, activity of foreign objects, and difficulty in removing foreign objects), imaging examinations (ultrasound, computed radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging examinations), treatment (repair period and repair method), and incidence of complications during follow-up after discharge. Results:There were 33 males and 8 females among the patients, aged 18-65 years. The total burn area was 1% to 78% total body surface area, the admission time after injury was 2 h to 7 d, the combined burn-blast injuries mainly occurred in the limbs and trunk, and the foreign objects in the body were liquid plastics (polyethylene and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) and liquid metals (liquid iron and aluminum). The proportions with swelling in the injury site, injury with depth to the bone, poor mobility of foreign objects, and difficulty in removing foreign objects in patients in liquid plastic group were significantly higher than those in liquid metal group ( P<0.05). The proportions of confirming foreign objects in the body through computed radiography and computed tomography examinations in patients in liquid metal group were 7/7 and 8/8, respectively, which were significantly higher than 1/5 and 3/20 in liquid plastic group ( P<0.05); the proportion of confirming foreign objects in the body through ultrasound examination in patients in liquid metal group was 11/11, which was similar to 24/26 ( P>0.05); the proportion of confirming foreign objects in the body through magnetic resonance imaging examination in patients in liquid metal group was 2/2, which was the same as 4/4 in liquid plastic group. The proportions of patients in liquid plastic group who underwent stage Ⅰ wound repair and direct suture were significantly lower than those in liquid metal group ( P<0.05), while the proportions of patients who underwent delayed wound repair, skin grafting, and flap grafting were significantly higher than those in liquid metal group ( P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups of patients during follow-up after discharge ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Combined burn-blast injuries could result in damages of different severity in patients due to different types and locations of foreign objects in the body. Computed radiography and computed tomography examinations can be used to diagnose metal foreign objects in the body, while ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging examinations can be used to diagnose plastic foreign objects in the body. Multidisciplinary collaboration and comprehensive treatment are important means of treating this type of patients.
