Objective To explore the mediating role of eating disorders in the relationship between body image satisfaction and anxiety symptoms among college students, and further examine the moderating effect of mindfulness on this mediating pathway. Methods By using convenience sampling,we conducted baseline and follow-up surveys among freshmen and sophomores at two universities in Xizang Autonomous Region from September to December 2021.Measurements included the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, the body image satisfaction subscale of the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire, the Eating Attitudes Test, and the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale.Data analyses performed using SPSS 23.0 included Pearson correlation analysis, mediation(model 4),and moderation(model 58)effect analysis. Results A total of 2 993 students participated in both the baseline and follow-up surveys, including 1 007 males(34.3%)and 1,666 Tibetan and other ethnic minorities(56.8%),with an average age of 19.8(SD=1.3)years.Body image satisfaction significantly predicted anxiety symptoms, and this relationship was partially mediated by disordered eating. The presence of mindfulness moderated the impact of body image satisfaction on disordered eating and the influence of disordered eating on anxiety symptoms, indicating varying strengths of these relationships at different levels of mindfulness. Conclusion This study demonstrates that body image satisfaction can significantly predict anxiety symptoms, with disordered eating playing a mediating role in this relationship. The moderating effect of mindfulness further reveals that students with high levels of mindfulness are less likely to experience eating disorders influenced by body image dissatisfaction.Interventions for college students'mental health should consider including management of body image and eating behaviors,as well as mindfulness training.

Objective:To construct machine learning-based delirium prediction models for ICU patients with multiple trauma and evaluate their prediction efficiency. Methods:A retrospective case-control study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 417 ICU multiple trauma patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2019 to June 2022, including 305 males and 112 females, aged 18-88 years [(47.8±15.7)years]. The score of acute physiology and chronic health status assessment II (APACHE II) was 0-50 points [(9.80±0.29)points]. The patients were randomly divided into training set ( n=291) and test set ( n=126) with a ratio of 7∶3. The demographic data, past history, treatment and laboratory results of the patients were collected. Lasso regression analysis was applied to screen variables that were significantly correlated to the incidence of delirium in the training set and the variables were then included into the machine learning models. Six machine learning methods including the random forest, gradient boosting tree, extreme gradient boosting, logistic regression, support vector machine and K nearest neighbor were used to construct the delirium prediction models for ICU multiple trauma patients. The accuracy, sensitivity, precision, F1 fraction and area under the curve (AUC) of the receiver′s operating characteristics (ROC) curve were calculated by using the data in the test set to evaluate the prediction efficiency of the models. Results:With regards to the six prediction models, namely random forests, gradient boosting tree, extreme gradient boosting, logistic regression, support vector machine and K nearest neighbor prediction models, the accuracy in the test set was 0.70, 0.68, 0.69, 0.73, 0.70 and 0.60 respectively; the sensitivity was 0.74, 0.80, 0.81, 0.86, 0.85 and 0.69 respectively; the precision was 0.72, 0.69, 0.70, 0.73, 0.71 and 0.65 respectively; the F1 fraction was 0.73, 0.74, 0.75, 0.79, 0.78 and 0.67 respectively; the AUC was 0.72, 0.73, 0.72, 0.80, 0.74 and 0.64 respectively. Among them, the logistic regression model had the best discriminability. Conclusion:Delirium prediction models for ICU patients with multiple trauma have been successfully constructed, among which the logistic regression model has the best prediction efficiency and can serve as an effective tool for early prediction and prevention of delirium in the clinical care of patients with multiple trauma.

Ferroptosis is a non-apoptotic mode of cell death characterized by iron-dependent lipid-peroxide-accumulation-induced membrane lipid peroxidation and mitochondrial atrophy. It differs from other programmed cell deaths in its morphological and biochemical properties.Ferroptosis is regulated by a variety of metabolic pathways that are involved in the acute lung injury induced by hemorrhagic shock,ischemia-reperfusion,sepsis,and radiation. This article reviews the main regulatory mechanisms of ferroptosis and its role in the pathogenesis of acute lung injury in various animal models with the aim of providing new strategies for the prevention and treatment of acute lung injury.

The Nod-like receptor pyrin domain-associated protein 3(NLRP3)-mediated pyroptosis of pulmonary parenchymal and immune cells plays a key role in the pathogenesis of lung injury during sepsis.NF-κB,JAK2/STAT3 and MAPK signaling pathways are involved in NLRP3-mediated pyroptosis.Targeting NLRP3-pyroptosis and its related signaling pathways, pharmacological interventions with Physalin B,schisandrin, erythropoietin, and physical therapies such as acupuncture at Zusanli and Feishu points,as well as NLRP3-specific inhibitors like ergolide, have all shown effective anti-septic effects in treating lung injuries. This article reviewed the roles and mechanisms of NLRP3-pyroptosis in sepsis-induced lung injury,as well as the experimental progresses made in targeting NLRP3 pyroptosis as a therapy. We aim to highlight the importance of NLRP3-pyroptosis as a target, providing insights for the prevention and treatment of sepsis-induced lung injury.

ObjectiveTo observe the intervention effect of Chaihu and Longgu Mulitang (CLMT) on rat depression model prepared by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) based on cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP)/protein kinase A (PKA)/cAMP-response element-binding protein (CREB)-brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) signaling pathway. MethodSixty SD rats were divided into normal group, model group, and CLMT low-, medium- and high-dose groups and fluoxetine group (positive control) according to random number table. They, except the normal group, were treated with CUMS for 49 days to prepare the rat depression model. The CLMT low-, medium- and high-dose groups were given 2.89, 5.78 11.56 g·kg-1 of CHMD granules, respectively, and the fluoxetine group was given 2.06 mg·kg-1 of fluoxetine hydrochloride on the 29th day. The normal group and the model group received equal volume of normal saline for 21 days. The behavioral performance of rats were observed by open field test and forced swim test. The levels of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), norepinephrine (NE) and cAMP in rat hippocampus were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The mRNA expressions of PKA, CREB, and BDNF in rat hippocampus were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Real-time PCR), and the protein expressions of PKA and BDNF were detected by Western blot. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the expression of CREB, and hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining and Nissl staining were used to observe the morphological changes of hippocampus. ResultCompared with the conditions in the normal group, the immobility time of the model group in the forced swim test was increased (P<0.01) and the total movement distance, residence time in central area, number of entries in central area and movement distance in central area were decreased (P<0.01). Additionally, the contents of 5-HT, NE and cAMP in hippocampus of the model group as well as the protein expressions of PKA, BDNF and CRE,the mRNA expressions of BDNF and CREB were lower than those in the normal group (P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the CLMT groups had reduced immobility time (P<0.01), elevated total movement distance, residence time in central area, number of entries in central area and movement distance in central area (P<0.05, P<0.01), up-regulated contents of 5-HT, NE and cAMP in hippocampus (P<0.05, P<0.01), and up-regulated protein expressions of PKA, BDNF and CREB and mRNA expressions of BDNF and CREB (P<0.01). HE staining and Nissl staining showed that CLMT significantly improved the neuronal structure in rat hippocampus. ConclusionCLMT alleviates the anxiety and depression of rats. These effects may be mediated by regulating monoamine neurotransmitters 5-HT and NE in hippocampus of depressed rats, activating cAMP/PKA/CREB/BDNF signaling pathway, up-regulating the expression of BDNF and protecting hippocampal structure and function .
