		                        			Objective:
To investigate the effect of a free pit and fissure sealing program for caries prevention on first permanent molars (six-year molars) in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, three years after its implementation in 2019. The study aims to provide a reference for the future development of pit and fissure sealing programs for children’s first permanent molars and the effective prevention and treatment of permanent tooth caries in children.

		                        			Methods:
A random sampling method was used. In 2022 October, 270 sixth-grade primary-school students in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, who had participated in the free pit and fissure sealing program for their first permanent molars in 2019, were placed in the sealant group. Another 223 age-matched students from the same schools who met the criteria for the pit and fissure sealing but did not participate in the program were placed in the control group. The first permanent molars of students in both groups were examined. The retention status of the sealant and the caries status of the first permanent molars were recorded for the sealant group, and the caries status of the first permanent molars was recorded for the control group. The 2022 results were compared with the results of a prior pit and fissure sealing program implemented in Haizhu District in 2011, three years after its implementation.

		                        			Results:
Compared with the control group, the caries rate in the sealant group decreased (15.56% vs. 21.52%, P>0.05), the caries detection rate was significantly lower (6.12% vs. 9.00%, P<0.001), and the mean number of decayed teeth was significantly reduced (0.19 vs. 0.37, P<0.001). Compared with the results of the pit and fissure sealing program in Haizhu District in 2011 (in 2014, the retention rate of the first permanent molar sealant was 65.56%, the intact rate was 42.25%, and the protection rate was 38.34%), the results of the pit and fissure sealing program in Haizhu District in 2019 [in 2022, the retention rate of the first permanent molar sealant was 86.09% (P<0.001), the intact rate was 47.00% (P<0.001), and the protection rate was 51.97%] were improved.

		                        			Conclusion
The quality of the pit and fissure sealing program for the first permanent molars in Haizhu District, Guangzhou in 2019 was good. It reduced the caries detection rate, and the retention rate of the sealant was maintained at a high level. However, the intact rate was less than 50%; therefore, it is necessary to vigorously promote oral-health education and examinations in all age groups, and to be attentive to the re-examination and re-sealing of fissure sealants.

With the accelerating process of population aging, binocular vision disorders have become increasingly prevalent, posing new challenges for both social aging strategies and ophthalmic clinical practice. Non-strabismic binocular vision anomalies(NSBVAs)are notably prevalent among elderly populations; however, current research predominantly focuses on the abnormality rates derived from individual binocular vision clinical tests, while data on the actual prevalence based on comprehensive diagnostic criteria remain limited. This review synthesizes existing scientific literature to provide a concise yet comprehensive overview of the prevalence, risk factors, and clinical diagnostic methods of NSBVAs in pre-presbyopic and presbyopic populations, with an in-depth examination of age-related changes in binocular vision function among older adults. By integrating and comparing analyses of the correlations between age and various binocular vision parameters, this review aims to enhance understanding of age-related binocular vision dysfunction and establish a theoretical foundation for developing targeted diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Ultimately, these insights could contribute to improved visual performance and life satisfaction in elderly individuals.

		                        			Objective:
To evaluate the preventive effect of implementing the free influenza vaccination policy on school absence among primary and secondary school students, so as to provide a reference for formulating and adjusting vaccination strategies.

		                        			Methods:
Among primary and secondary school students aged 6 to 18 in Longgang District, Shenzhen, they were divided into a vaccinated group (265 996 students) and an unvaccinated group (122 513 students) according to their influenza vaccination history during November 2023. Propensity score matching was used to conduct a 1∶1 match between the two groups to balance covariates. The number of absences per month was set as the dependent variable to construct a difference in differences model, and Poisson regression was employed to analyze the overall and multi time point effects.

		                        			Results:
Vaccination against influenza was associated with low rate of absenteeism among primary and secondary school students, with an overall preventive effect of 26.52% (95% CI = 23.47% -29.45%). The preventive effects in November (the month of vaccination) and December 2023, January and March 2024 were 42.12%, 40.12%, 30.33% and 20.91%, respectively. The preventive effect of the influenza vaccine on absenteeism among primary school students (26.39%) was not significantly different from that among secondary school students ( 27.97% ) ( P >0.05). The regression coefficient for class vaccination rates ranged from 0.998 to 0.999 ( P <0.01), indicating that for every 10% increase in influenza vaccination rates, absenteeism could be reduced by 1.5% to 2.2%.

		                        			Conclusion
Implementing free influenza vaccination for primary and secondary school students might help to reduce the risk of absenteeism, yielding significant socioeconomic benefits.

6.A consensus on the management of allergy in kindergartens and primary schools

		                        			Abstract
Allergic diseases can occur in all systems of the body, covering the whole life cycle, from children to adults and to old age, can be lifelong onset and even fatal in severe cases. Children account for the largest proportion of the victims of allergic disease, Children s allergies start from scratch, ranging from mild to severe, from less to more, from single to multiple systems and systemic performance, so the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases in children is of great importance, which can not only prevent high risk allergic conditions from developing into allergic diseases, but also further block the process of allergy. At present, there is no consensus on the management system of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools. The "Consensus on Allergy Management and Prevention in Kindergartens and Primary Schools", which includes the organizational structure, system construction and management of allergic children, provides evidence informed recommendations for the long term comprehensive management of allergic children in kindergartens and primary schools, and provides a basis for the establishment of the prevention system for allergic children.

Aptamers are single-stranded DNA or RNA sequences that can specifically bind with the target protein or molecule via specific secondary structures. Compared to antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), aptamer‒drug conjugate (ApDC) is also an efficient, targeted drug for cancer therapy with a smaller size, higher chemical stability, lower immunogenicity, faster tissue penetration, and facile engineering. Despite all these advantages, several key factors have delayed the clinical translation of ApDC, such as in vivo off-target effects and potential safety issues. In this review, we highlight the most recent progress in the development of ApDC and discuss solutions to the problems noted above.

Objective:To explore the effect of dietary intake before fasting on the physiological distribution of 18F-FDG PET/CT, and to improve the 18F-FDG PET/CT image quality. Methods:From August 2019 to May 2020, questionnaire of dietary intake before fasting of 118 patients (73 males, 45 females; age (58.4±13.4) years) who performed PET/CT imaging in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University were retrospectively analyzed. The total dietary energy intake, the nutrient intake and energy supply ratio of the three energy source nutrients, the type of raw materials and the texture of diet were included. The SUV max and SUV mean of the liver, mediastinal blood pool and hip muscles were measured. Single-factor and multi-factors linear regression analyses were used to analyze data. Results:The fasting blood glucose of 118 subjects was (5.36±1.01) mmol/L. The texture of diet before fasting were general diet, semiliquid diet and liquid diet, which were 42 (35.59%), 72 (61.02%) and 4 (3.39%) subjects, respectively. The energy supply ratios of carbohydrate, protein and fat were (55.46±18.27)%, (16.70±7.38)% and (27.72±14.53)%, respectively. The results of multi-factors regression analysis indicted that protein energy ratio was an independent factor influencing SUV max ( β=0.005, P=0.031) and SUV mean ( β=0.003, P=0.042) of the hip muscles, and the texture of diet was an independent factor influencing SUV max ( β=0.126, P=0.030) and SUV mean ( β=0.197, P=0.002) of mediastinal blood pool. Conclusions:The dietary intake before fasting has significant effect on the imaging quality of 18F-FDG. The protein energy ratio is an independent factor influencing SUV max and SUV mean of the hip muscles. The texture of diet is an independent factor influencing SUV max and SUV mean of mediastinal blood pool.

Objective:To investigate the effects of hemophagocytic syndrome also known as hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) on the clinical features and therapeutic efficacy of patients with Epstein-Barr virus-positive T-cell lymphoma (EBV-TCL).Methods:The clinical data of patients with EBV-TCL diagnosed by pathological examination in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University from November 2015 to August 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. According to whether they were accompanied with HLH at the time of onset, patients were divided into HLH group (10 cases) and non-HLH group (13 cases), and the clinical features and prognosis of the two groups were compared. The curative effects of different treatment methods and patients with different plasma EBV-DNA titers were compared. Results:Among 23 patients, 3 cases (13.0%) were in Ann Arbor stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ, 20 cases (87.0%) were in stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ; the International Prognostic Index (IPI) score was 1 point in 3 cases (13.0%), 2 points in 4 cases (17.4%), 3 points in 8 cases (34.8%), 4 points in 8 cases (34.8%). In the HLH group, there were 2 cases of aggressive NK-cell leukemia and 3 cases of childhood systemic EBV-TCL. There were no cases of above two pathological types in the non-HLH group. In the HLH group, the proportions of patients with fever, bone marrow invasion, IPI score > 2 points, and EBV-DNA > 10 4 copies/ml were higher than those in the non-HLH group (all P < 0.05). The objective response rate (complete remission plus partial remission) of all patients after chemotherapy was 47.8% (11/23); there were 3 cases undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in both the HLH group and the non-HLH group, and all achieved objective remission. The objective remission of 7 patients and 10 patients who did not undergo hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in the HLH group and non-HLH group after lymphoma chemotherapy had 0 case and 5 cases, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.044). In the chemotherapy alone group, 5 of 17 patients had objective remission, 6 patients in the chemotherapy plus transplantation group had objective remission, and the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.039). Among 16 patients whose plasma EBV-DNA titers turned negative, 11 patients had objective remission, and 7 patients whose plasma EBV-DNA titers were continuously positive had no objective remission, and the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.001). The 1-year overall survival rate of all patients was 69.3%, and the 2-year overall survival rate was 52.0%. In the HLH group, the 1-year and 2-year overall survival rates of 7 patients receiving chemotherapy alone and 3 patients receiving chemotherapy plus transplantation were 42.9% and 66.7%, respectively. In the non-HLH group, the 1-year overall survival rates of 10 patients receiving chemotherapy alone and 3 patients receiving chemotherapy plus transplantation were 80.0% and 100.0%, respectively; the 2-year overall survival rates were 26.7% and 100.0%,respectively. The overall survival of patients receiving chemotherapy plus transplantation was better than that of those receiving chemotherapy alone in both the HLH group and the non-HLH group, and differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). Conclusions:The general clinical stage of patients with EBV-TCL is later, and the prognosis of EBV-TCL patients with HLH is worse. The therapeutic efficacy may be related to plasma EBV-DNA titers. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation can improve the remission rate.
