  • DescriptionChinese Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (CJBJS), launched in April 2008, is an authoritative national publication administered by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. It is edited and published by the editorial office of Chinese Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, China Union Medical University Press Co., Ltd. The journal primarily targets professionals at all levels engaged in orthopaedic basic science and clinical work. It introduces new perspectives, research findings, and technologies in basic and clinical studies of orthopaedics and joint surgery, reflects the latest progress in Chinese orthopaedic medicine, and promotes academic exchanges both domestically and internationally. After over a decade of development, the journal has become a vital academic platform in China's orthopaedic field. It has been successively indexed by major domestic authoritative retrieval systems, including 北大核心期刊(A Guide to the Core Journals of China,GCJC), 中国科学引文数据库(Chinese Science Citation Database,CSCD), 中国科技核心期刊(Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations Database,CSTPC). According to the China Journal Citation Reports released in October 2024, its comprehensive evaluation score ranked 3rd among Orthopedic Surgery category journals. Since Issue 4 of 2015, the journal has established a dedicated 'Clinical Guideline/Expert Consensus' column. Over the past decade, it has organized the compilation and publication of 77 guidelines and consensus documents, making significant contributions to promoting standardized diagnosis and treatment in Chinese orthopaedics. The journal also places strong emphasis on facilitating domestic and international academic exchanges. For instance, between 2015 and 2018, it successfully hosted four sessions of the 'Xiangshan International Joint Arthroplasty Summit', establishing an important bridge for communication and collaboration between domestic and international orthopaedic peers and attracting the participation of numerous top experts from around the world. In Issue 6 of 2021, it published a special issue on external fixation and limb reconstruction to commemorate the centennial of Professor Gavriil Ilizarov's birth.
