Abstract:
Purpose:The purposes are identification of regional distribution of hyperbaric oxygen chambers and regional hyperbaric oxygen treatment capacity in case of a large numbers of fire victims in Korea.
Methods:The number of hyperbaric oxygen chambers and the daily capacity compared to the number of victims in fires were investigated and compared.
Results:Multiplace hyperbaric oxygen chambers were concentrated in Busan and Gyeongnam province, and there were also two areas without hyperbaric oxygen chambers. The capacity of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in case of fires in Korea were simultaneous 393 patients, and Busan and Gyeongnam province accounted for 171 patients (46.9%) of the total.
Conclusion:The distribution of hyperbaric oxygen chambers should be strategically conducted in regions with low hyperbaric oxygen therapy capacity in the future.
