Abstract:
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a highly prevalent chronic disease, it is a metabolic disorder characterized by an imbalance in blood glucose level, altered lipid profile and high blood pressure. In recent years, the incidence of T2DM has increased sharply and the age distribution is widespread, which is harmful to human health. Recently, numerous studies aimed to detect the causality between the gut microbial metabolites and T2DM have shown that the gut microbial metabolites were linked with T2DM. And with the rapid development of the detection technology of gut flora and metabolites, recent studies have suggested that intestinal flora metabolites have great potential value in predicting T2DM. This review of the relevant research results provides a reference for establishing a risk prediction model for T2DM suing human gut microbial metabolites.
